A nice shiny new thread!

Good idea.

Enjoy your new bed. Having a giant bed is essential here. It's full ATM Grin

lazzaroo · 13/05/2013 07:28

Dd1 is still sound asleep in my bed! Trying to get dd2 back off for a nap so I can at least lie in bed for a little rest.

soho she is 3 and a bit. Your idea sounds lovely but once she's up she's like the duracell bunny! And will only nap in the day if out in the car.

Dd2 just nodded off so I'm going to try sneaking back into bed!

abi2790 · 13/05/2013 07:58

Feeling really down this morning. Ds was awake at 2 and I fed him until 3 with lots of transfer fails. I brought him into bed with me then and fed him lying down. I think we both managed to get an hour's sleep then. After that I can't remember. We co-slept if you can call it that but I don't think we got much sleep. I've just put him back in his cot but he wants feeding again Sad.

MrsNPattz · 13/05/2013 11:19

Sorry some of you are struggling!

I've been reunited with my little man, so I'm tired cause I didn't get to bed til 1 this morning, but happy Smile

Was he pleased to see you MrsN?

Scary, we're nearly on part 10!!

lazzaroo · 13/05/2013 17:20

Managed to get 20mins this morning. Today has actually been ok. It's suprising how you adjust to life with such little sleep when you have to!

Clinic tomorrow so I'm going to take little lazza and see how she's doing. Not been for a few weeks.

I also feel really 'empty' this evening. Like she's not going to get a lot out of me before bed! Don't even know if that's possible & as oversupply is my usual problem, perhaps it's unlikely!!

lazzaroo · 13/05/2013 17:30

And mine is a bottle refuser too, so no chance of break or top up before bed! Have started introducing sippy cup though & she s much better with that than she was with bottle.

Have a good night everyone!

abi2790 · 13/05/2013 18:32

Ds is having his bedtime feed now and seems peaceful so I'm hoping for a better night who am I kidding. I've bought myself one of those new fancy Muller yogurts so I've got that to look forward to when Ds eventually gets to sleep Smile. He has more sleep today though so fingers crossed for a better night!

GoatBongosAnonymous · 13/05/2013 19:39

Just a quick one. Have been lurking but not posting as trying to keep nights dark, and am at work in day. Sorry for so many awful nights. Same here. In fact so bad at the moment DH and I are taking shifts every night to stay up with him. Meh.

The sleep fairy has been making sleepy dust by the barrow load. May she throw a few sackfuls at everyone...

MrsNPattz · 13/05/2013 20:13

Larle, he wasn't sure about me at first Sad and he wouldn't feed from me. But by morning it was like I had never been away!

Hoping this is bedtime feed here. I started my peer support training today so my head is just over loaded!!

Abi I have those yoghurts too - the mint one and the coconut one - but haven't tried them yet. Hubby says they are lovely! Enjoy Smile

Hiya goat long time since we've seen you, sorry you're still having bad nights now you're back at work. That's what I'm dreading.

lazza I spoke to HV today and she is happy for us to start weaning at 20 weeks so the plan is to start on sat with some apple. Before then I need to read some anabell karmel and that book MrsN mentioned on the thread.

DS is currently in bed, hoping he'll sleep in cot for most of tonight!!

Sleepy dust to all!!

lazzaroo · 13/05/2013 20:32

Yep, larle we're starting weaning too. I'm sure it won't have much impact on sleep but pretty sure DD is ready for it. And if not, we'll just try again in a few weeks. Will probably start with a bit of baby rice and then increase tastes over the next few weeks. I know the temptation is to feed before bed in hope of filling them up! But you might want to think about starting with lunch instead. You never know how it's going to effect their tummies, and you might just swap one reason for waking at night with another!!

Both DD's have been asleep since 7.30 so I'm off to bed myself soon! Good night & good luck all!!

larlemucker · 13/05/2013 20:40

Famous last words, DS just woke up screaming!

Thought we would go for just after lunch so he can have milk first, then he won't be screaming hungry. Was going to try baby rice but been told that's its totally gross a bit bland.
Think he is ready as he loves watching us eat, everything is going in his mouth and he tried to put DHs spoonful of yogurt into his mouth last night!! He isn't far off sitting up either!

lazzaroo · 13/05/2013 20:48

Snap. Little lazza woke the second I posted that last message! I think she can read my mind! Still, she settled again quickly and I'm now in bed!

The baby rice is pretty gross! We'll move on quickly to more exciting favours Smile. I seem to remember dd1 loving banana but, be warned, it stains everything! It's exciting that they are getting ready for next big step (but also a little sad how quickly the time goes....that's the biggest downside of having a poor sleeper. Feeling like you're wishing the time away)

Right...must sleep now....might be my only chance!

abi2790 · 13/05/2013 20:50

They are lovely MrsN Smile

If Ds has another bad night then I'm going to start weaning too. He's been really hungry in the day and he tries to grab our food but then again he tries to put anything in his mouth within arm's reach! Think I'm going to start him with some carrot.

SoYo · 13/05/2013 20:54

First night of DHs night shifts. Evenings and nights all to me, the dog's being a nightmare & I was planning for 9.30 bedtime but DDs hungry now so I've got to feed her but can't go to bed because the dog still needs walking etc. shit shit shit. All thrown off. Raaaa.

SoYo · 13/05/2013 20:55

Also, hi Goat

abi2790 · 13/05/2013 21:25

He's woken up crying. Tried rocking to sleep but he just kept trying to eat my arm! I really don't think he's ready for solids yet but I guess I could try him with some carrot and see how he goes? I'm so confused :(

abi2790 · 13/05/2013 21:39

I think it's a growth spurt rather than readiness for solids. He can't sit up yet and I don't think he would enjoy food yet.

Sorry for babbling on :(

larlemucker · 13/05/2013 22:12

How old is he abi?

larlemucker · 13/05/2013 22:13

Sorry, I have a really crap memory. I know someone's LO was born around the same time as baby larle but can't remember who!!

lazzaroo · 13/05/2013 22:26

That was us larle, but maybe abi too?

Up & feeding already. Doesn't bode well for rest of the night! But I'll t least try & get her back down in cot for a bit.

SoYo · 13/05/2013 22:46

Came up to bed at 9.30 amidst screamy fit. Got her down at 10.15, I fell asleep at 10.30, she's now awake & feeding again (failed to settle her without before screaming started). Shit.

Anypants · 13/05/2013 23:31

Just checking in before heading to bed - sorry to all those having 'challenging' nights and welcome back goat . I'm hoping for another straight forward single pit stop tonight - going to have another crack with a bottle tomorrow and have ordered some avent 'natural' bottles to try (with some Boots points, so they were free!) and should have them by Thursday. Also, went back to WW today to assess the damage and have 2st to lose to get back to goal, but I get 6 months free as i'm a gold member and ebf. 40 freaking pro points a day, plus the 49 a week? Bonus. Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit Wine Wine Wine Brew Brew Brew
Sleepy dust crop sprayer flying overhead now...

abi2790 · 14/05/2013 00:40

He's 23 weeks larle so a little bit older than your ds I think?

We've been up twice since my last post. DP managed to rock him back to sleep earlier without me feeding him but he woke up again so here I am feeding him back to sleep.
