A nice shiny new thread!

I can't really remember what times we were up but I think there was 3 feeds by 6am & I woke up thinking it wasn't too bad! Did some co-sleeping after the 6am feed & had a wee lying down feed where she fell asleep hugging the boob with both arms. Mini-Yo is very much of the opinion that everybody needs a bosom for a pillow!

Hope everyone has a nice, lazy Sunday! Smile

larlemucker · 28/04/2013 14:00

My afternoon is sorted, the fifth element is on channel 5!!

larlemucker · 28/04/2013 20:22

Oh dear, I've got a bit addicted to bidding for clothes for baby larle on eBay. Think I've got his whole 6-9 month wardrobe sorted!!!

Just put him down and he is awake already Hmm going to be another wonderful night I think!

MrsNPattz · 28/04/2013 20:33

We still have a wide awake baby. He's had two good naps today, but he's not quite right - he has a gunky left eye, and seems to have a few areas on his skin that are red and dry, hoping it's not eczema. Anyone with any experience of this? So not quite sure what kind of a night we are in for!!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend :)

DP's brother ran the Manchester Marathon today for Cancer Research so we've been there supporting him. Ds slept for about 2 hours in his pram! Crossing fingers that he sleeps well tonight too.

Emilythornesbff · 28/04/2013 21:52

HI.
Preparing for transfer fail here.
mrsn ds had red dry patches that turned out to be excess. The most important thing was to avoid soaps, so no bubbles or baby bath. We used double base bath additive and crea, (still sometimes use the cream) and used hydrocortisone on the red areas. Pretty much all gone now.
I was reading about your wakeful night. Sad IMHO I would say that babypatz isn't ready to drop night feeds? BUT you can definitely stop the feeding to sleep thing which will help. How did you get on with that book. We've been co sleeping a bit too. Sometimes it's the only way to stay anywhere near sane Grin I'm so tired and feel so awfulif I'm grumpy.
Hope you have a better night tonight.
Good sleepy wishes to everyone
Em

Emilythornesbff · 28/04/2013 21:53

Oh and larle here I am sipping my camomile tea Smile

larlemucker · 28/04/2013 22:15

Hope it works emily

Baby larle very restless and hungry this eve. Think we're going to have a bad night but fit once u don't want him to sleep through as I need him to help relieve this blocked duct!!

We also think he us teething, so I have rubbed some ambesol on his gums, and ready to start weaning as he watches everything we eat. Going to wait another 3 weeks before we start the weaning though.

Good luck tonight ladies!!

Anypants · 28/04/2013 23:32

Good luck tonight y'all - we had a day out at Jimmy's Farm today and DD only had three naps of an hour each, then slept for another hour when we got home. Got her bathed and she was so sleepy that she went right off after her last feed at 8.30 so Me and DH watched a dvd tonight for the first time in months! Not sure if she will wake at her usual 3am or be up and down like a yoyo again (or soyo Grin ) so will catch you all later - i'll bring some hob nobs Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit

MrsNPattz · 28/04/2013 23:49

Feeding here, tried shhhh patting and he drifted off a few times but then woke up more upset each time, and wouldn't settle in hubby's arms so assuming he's hungry. Getting really hacked off that he won't. Just. Stay. Asleep. Having a little cry. All this has totally put me off having another.

larle sympathy re the blocked duct :( hope your LO clears it for you soon.

Poor MrsN that does sound rough. But reading the last few pages all at once makes it sound as though there are some things that are improving for you, maybe it would help to go back over the big picture and see if there have been any positive changes?

I'm due another fight between DD and my boob shortly so leaving it there. Finding a passage on Kellymom invaluable atm, I keep reading it over and over...

GiraffesAndButterflies · 29/04/2013 00:38

Kellymom link which is keeping me sane

larlemucker · 29/04/2013 04:18

Quiet night again, hope that means everyone's sleeping.

We've managed a 3 hour stretch between feeds for a couple of nights in a row which is a massive improvement. Something is working.

Now off to read that passage giraffe

abi2790 · 29/04/2013 04:54

Sorry to everyone who's having a bad night Biscuit Brew. MrsN Stay positive :). We are all here to help get you through it. Big hugs!

DS slept from 8ish - 4:20!! It's probably just another one-off but I feel so much better after having an uninterrupted sleep :)

lazzaroo · 29/04/2013 06:31

Morning! I am fed up...seriously fed up! Woke so may times last night I lost count. Last feed at 6.30. Woke at 9.15. Wouldn't re settle without a feed. Ended up leaving her in with me. What happened after that is anyone's guess! And dd1 turned up at 3 am too. DH away for next 3 days. Dd2 seems to have decided that 5.20 is the start of the day. I fed her, she went back to sleep for 5 mins and then that was that. Changed her nappy and tried to get her back to sleep but have given up. The problem is she'll be tired all day now if she's awake too long before first nap.

Dd1 was a terrible sleeper and I can't believe we're going through it all again. I somehow need to get some sleep but can't see an end to it at the moment.

Emilythornesbff · 29/04/2013 07:11

larle it works in terms of tasting nice and better to have no caffeine.
Babythorne has one or 2 feeds during the night but then she's only 3 months so I'm quite lucky. Ds woke twice last night Sad not sure what that was all about, it's hard to tell now whether daytime naps, activity or food make any difference. Just when I think I've got it licked Grin.

mrsn I know that tiredness. I really feel for you. But I promise it will improve, really. Just remember that it's a phase, you' not doing anything wrong you just have to get through it in as way that suits you and your family. I found it useful to have a daytime nap when ds did around that age. Now it's impossible because they never nap at the same time, so make the most of it while you can I say. Grin.

Sounds like you had a nice evening any that's great and thanks for the hobnobs.

Good news abi
And lazzaroo there is hope, isn't there? please tell me our psbs a going to be good sleepers.

Get napping.
Em

MrsNPattz · 29/04/2013 10:03

Thanks guys, I sometimes just reach a point where I lose the plot because I just want sleep. But Giraffe you are right, there have been some positive changes. Once he was back down after my last post he woke every couple of hours but shhhh patted back to sleep. Fed at 6:15 in with me, then he slept til after 9!!

Sorry there were other bad nights Thanks xx

Babybeesmama · 29/04/2013 11:15

Apologies for my absence since Saturday but we had our first ever sleep through last night! 1030-645! Omg! DD however was up wailing with sore throat! X

lazzaroo · 29/04/2013 11:48

Emily I am sure there is hope for others! People always said to me 'you'll never get 2 the same'. Well, turns out you can! we've had 2 rubbish sleepers. Loads of waking, catnappers, need motion & early risers! They also both refused bottles & dummies!

Maybe it's something I'm doing wrong.

MrsNPattz · 29/04/2013 12:47

Congratulations Amey!!

larlemucker · 29/04/2013 13:37

Congrats amey, do you have your gown and cap ready for graduation? Hope you'll still come and visit us when you graduate!!

We've been to stay and play this morning. Why can't parents with toddlers keep an eye on them. I'm fed up of toddlers coming over and nearly standing on or hitting with toys my 4 month old DS. I'm not there to discipline your kids. Argh, it really irritates me. If I had the guts I'd start a AIBU!!!

Babybeesmama · 29/04/2013 14:13

Wouldn't hold my breath for graduation! Its hard not to just think he will do the same Tonight, be lovely if he did! How you doing with ssh pat mrsn? Xx

MrsNPattz · 29/04/2013 17:33

I hope it's the start of good things Amey!! It's going so so, it mostly works but he's still waking up every couple of hours. At a loss as to why - his teeth are through.

I forgot to tell you guys, I'm going to be starting training soon to be a breast feeding peer supporter! It will fit in really well with being a WW leader, and I love the idea of being able to help others Smile

That's fab mrsn! Are you giving up your other job? Wish I could give up mine. Don't want to go back Confused.

X

larlemucker · 29/04/2013 18:59

MrsN that's fab. The lady from my booby group has just qualified. Are you doing it with ABM?
