First feed - woo hoo! Looks like the walk (to the pub, ahem) earlier did the trick Smile Just got to pray she'll go back to sleep without a fuss...

Emilythornesbff · 06/04/2013 05:09

Emilythornesbff · 06/04/2013 05:10

That's a good night then anypants

Emilythornesbff · 06/04/2013 05:27

That was quick. Now for the tricky bit - settling back down.

MrsNPattz · 06/04/2013 05:29

Second feed here, hoped he would sleep longer after being awake until 1 earlier but no such luck!

GoatBongosAnonymous · 06/04/2013 07:56

Hello all. Quiet last night, was everyone asleep? (Hope if so you soon join them mrsn, Emily, larle and anypants Smile )
DH did his second shift ever last night. BG was at the childminder yesterday as we had to go to DH's gran's funeral in Colchester which was a day's jaunt. (She was 101 and completely independent until Christmas!). She must have knackered him out, as he slept from 6:30 until 2!!! A record. Dammit that it wasn't on my shift!
Beautiful day here. Definitely walking weather!

Meant to ask. Those using a crinkle cutter for weaning. What kind? I think we need one - BG's strong little grip means that lots of things end up whistling past my ear as they pop out of his hand. At the moment I am leaving skin on the bit he holds, but he has learned to open his hand now so I am currently fishing avocado skin out of his mouth, not good.

Up at 8 here as I am getting my hair done at 10 - cannot wait!!

Goat we got one from amazon for about 4 quid - it has a thick black handle and does what it says on the tin!

larlemucker · 06/04/2013 16:57

Anyone bet on the national? One of mine was winning for nearly the whole bloody race and he was 40-1!! Hmm

MrsNPattz · 06/04/2013 19:48

I didn't Larle but mum and hubby did, no winners though!

Busy day here. Had my hair cut and coloured, had lunch, went shopping, expressed milk with my new manual pump that then stopped working, worked on my presentation, stressed out a lot and have finally sat down! I am feeling so stressed out and it's mostly about Monday. Roll on Tuesday Grin a bit of it is about little man though and his self settling and waking in the night. Just don't know what to do Blush

larlemucker · 06/04/2013 20:15

I got second and third place but don't think I won much Hmm
Hope your hair looks nice MrsN, it's nice to have a treat every so often.
Baby larle has refused to nap today so god knows what kind of a night we're going to have

MrsNPattz · 06/04/2013 21:16

Yea I'm pleased with it thanks Larle - feel more my age instead of mumsy and frumpy!!

Dream feeding here, hoping to eliminate the half 11 wide awake waking!

TeaandHobnobs · 06/04/2013 22:11

Glad you had a good pamper session MrsN - sending you lots of confiident vibes for Monday Smile

I have given in and agreed to give some sort of sleep training a go . I still don't really want to, but I'm back to work in three weeks and I just can't cope with the sleep deprivation anymore. A friend told me yesterday that she has just done it with her baby (who is very similar to DS, and she and I are very much on the same wavelength) and it worked miracles in three days. We will see - it bothers me that DS gets so utterly hysterical, even though I know he does it because he is angry at not being picked up. I just can't bear to listen to it Sad

Goat so annoying that DH got the night where BG decided to be nice! Grrr

Loving the sunshine - I insisted we went for a walk in the park this afternoon and it was gorgeous. DH had fun carrying DS on his shoulders and trying to get him to walk and I took hundreds of photos like a Paparazzo (funny how DS knows to look up when he hears the beep of the autofocus on the camera Blush)

larlemucker · 06/04/2013 22:47

What kind if sleep training tea?

MissingMyMarbles · 06/04/2013 23:19

Have had a lovely day in the sun too. Then we all went out for tea but it meant that Missmarbles was getting a but past herself come bedtime and she's been quite unsettled since. Hopefully it's all quiet now for the night Hmm DH has a migraine so I've done the 11ish feed (at 10.15) already. I'm hoping she will only wake I've more time before morning if at all.

What kind of sleep training, Tea? I am very much she will do it in her own time but I am starting to get a bit desperate and panicky as I went back to work this week and am knackered even more so, and I start night shift this coming week. I know she is nearly there but I wish it was a bit more consistent.

Hope everyone has a good night.

MrsNPattz · 06/04/2013 23:47

Dream feed didn't work Sad

Tea good luck - yes it would be interesting to hear what you do and how you get on!

How was it being back at work Marbles?

funchum8am · 07/04/2013 00:55

marbles I was thinking of you and hoping work went well. I hope the new job is all you hoped!

Anypants, Emily, larle and all of you suffering bad nights HOOGE hugs from me.

babyfunch is gradually getting better. she was 6mo on Thursday and has been up around 6am rather than 4ish for four days now, with minimal wakings. tea we did cc to a limited extent when she was 4mo and she learned to self settle, so it more or less stopped the half hourly wakings (except when she was ill at times) but didn't solve the 4am start of the day habit. I read Dr Ferber's book myself rather than doing it based on a hearsay version which made me feel less guilty but basically amounted to the same thing!

larlemucker · 07/04/2013 01:38

Up again here, can hardly keep eyes open

SoYo · 07/04/2013 01:55

Hi Larle, me neither. I was happily snoozing in the spare room when DH came & woke me up to say the monster's stirring. Don't think I've ever wanted to do this less. It would be fine if she'd sleep as long MW as she did between last 2 feeds but it gets shorter. & shorter between now & 6. Usually 1.30, 3, 4.30, 5.30. Urgh.

SoYo · 07/04/2013 02:33

Transfer fail. Grrr. Hmm

MrsNPattz · 07/04/2013 02:38

Second feed, this is ridiculous Sad

larlemucker · 07/04/2013 03:47

Third feed in 5 hours.
Still exhausted

Anypants · 07/04/2013 04:12

Sounds like another fun night for us allSad Left DD with DH at midnight, feeding her ebm and got my head down for an hour before I couldn't stand the crying. She went off about 3 but has just woken again and am feeding once more. Although, am having a boob preference issue - She's fine with the left but chokes and screams if she tries the right. Anyone else had this problem??

Babybeesmama · 07/04/2013 04:22

Hey everyone. Been absent for a few nights but not due to sleeping through! Had some utterly appalling nights this week ranging from hourly-2 hourly waking Confused. Tea we are also on verge of sleep training but he's just started teething again so not sure how to handle that!

Sorry to hear of people's bad news Thanks.
