Tea I am so sorry to hear about your dad. More hugs from me. Look after yourself.

Larle hugs for the terrible nights, you just have to survive, no more! You are doing a great job and giving your all for your baby.

Mrsn I find exercise helps with stress, or writing down what I am worried about and making notes when I feel the worries taking over, so I have all my ideas out of my head and on paper. Not sure that isn't just me though!! I am sure a meltdown is totally normal in your position. I know I would probably need to let out all that pent up emotion too.

Went out with a friend last night and she told me her 9 year old son has lung cancer. I am totally gutted for her family. They have no idea of his chances of survival and won't get a clearer picture til June when his chemo finishes. They know only ten kids a year get it in the uk, and it is an aggressive form though. It is so, so sad. Hug your little ones close everyone Hmm

MrsNPattz · 04/04/2013 12:07

Oh gosh Funch, that's such awful news and I am so sorry. Certainly puts things into perspective! I have just been out for a walk and I feel much better! Reciting my presentation in my head while I walked Grin

I forgot to say yesterday that our little man has a new trick - rolling over!! Getting such a big boy.

EeyoresGloomyPlace · 04/04/2013 19:17

Welcome back tea we've missed you, so sorry to hear about your dad what a shock. Hugs to you and your family xx

mrsn have you finished your presentation now? When I need to calm down if the girls are driving me nuts I try to remind myself that they aren't doing it on purpose, picture them when they're sleeping and looking like the little angels they are rather than the devils they pretend to be and a nice glass of wine to look forward to after bedtime helps a lot!

soyo I adore dark chocolate hobnobs I'm craving them now!

funch that is totally devastating, what awful news the poor family Thanks It just doesn't bear thinking about, you're right we should all be giving our precious little ones an extra big cuddle tonight.

larle hope you're ok today xx

goat how was the well earned time to yourself today?

EeyoresGloomyPlace · 04/04/2013 19:17

Forgot to say mrsn well done little man! :)

Emilythornesbff · 04/04/2013 20:30

I was about to have a small winge about cluster feeding preventing me from taking a shower.
Then I read funch's post about her friend's little boy.
funch I'm so dreadfully sorry to hear that. I hope his treatment is successful. So sad for them.

MrsNPattz · 04/04/2013 21:20

Heff it's finished, now I'm working on being able to say it confidently without reading it! Can't wait until it's over!

We went to breast feeding support group this afternoon, really glad we went. Met a really nice lady with a boy a similar age to little man, and spoke to another lady who did BLW. Going to go every week now.

Hoping for a good night, but will certainly hug him closer if he does wake for a feed after Funch's news xx

GoatBongosAnonymous · 04/04/2013 21:54

Hello everyone. Lots going on as usual.
funch that is so sad, my thoughts with them. As you say, just makes you realise how lucky we are.
mrsn good luck with the orientation. I'm sure you'll be fabulous,
tea lovely to see you again, but so sorry to hear about your dad. Flowers and hope you can take lots of care for yourself. Tough times after having had the prem birth etc. as well.
heff I had a lovely time and my hair is now redder and actually looks like hair... ie it had been cut! First time in about 18 months.
DH did his first night shift last night. I didn't get up once. Shame that I still leap out of bed at the first whimper, before I am even awake!! I am sure I can get used to it though...
Waves to everyone else and will catch up on thread properly soon. Just sitting listening to poor BG's terrible cough and wondering if I can do anything for him before I go to bed.

larlemucker · 05/04/2013 00:21

funch that's just awful, you never think it'll happen to someone you know.

Baby larle has been screaming tonight. He looks like he has quite a sore bum so don't know if its that. He has been in bed an hour and woken up screaming again, not looking forward to tonight as DH away with work so no help/support.

Really hope you're all having a better night than us

MrsNPattz · 05/04/2013 00:38

First feed in the Pattz household!

Anypants · 05/04/2013 03:20

After two days of regular as clockwork feeding, DD has tonight decided that sleep is not something she or I needs. Been trying to put her down since midnight - Got her to drift off at about 2.30 but she is up again now. Getting v frustrated and can't wake DH for help as he has a driving test tomorrow and needs to sleep. Any tips welcome... Sad

GoatBongosAnonymous · 05/04/2013 03:49

anypants I wish I knew!! So far tonight we have had hourly wakings for nappy change, calpol, feed, resettle, another resettle, another feed... Although in our case it is another bloody cold. But we are here too and feeling your pain!
amey was it you who asked how the GP appointment went? Nothing wrong with BG, extremely healthy apart from the determined strengthening of his immune system Hmm and even the hv looked bemused when I described his nighttime ramblings. Didn't really have any suggestions for how to settle him, as she is used to criers not fandango dancers. How lovely to have a nocturnally unique sleeper!! Confused

OP posts:
SoYo · 05/04/2013 04:21

Second feed here. After the last feed she settled really well in Moses, moaned for 2mins then asleep....unfortunately I seem to have developed the inability to sleep! Took me 45mins to get back to sleep, just couldn't switch off. So so annoying when she's awake again 2hrs later. It's been the same for a few nights now and doesn't seem to be affected by how tired I am. Any ideas how to get back to sleep?

Bubba's also suffering with colicky gripey pains, cue lots of moans & drawing up of legs etc. It doesn't seem to be helped with tummy rubs, leg bounces, infacol etc so I tend to just leave her but its obviously distressing her & I can't sleep through it so that's not helping! Again any suggestions gratefully received.

larlemucker · 05/04/2013 04:44

anypants and soyo sorry but no advice, hope someone can help though.
We're up for second feed, he actually let me sleep for longer than an hour! Woohoo!!
Does it mean anything if an EBF baby has green bits in their poo (sorry if TMI!)

MrsNPattz · 05/04/2013 04:51

Second feed. SoYo I struggle to fall asleep like that too but I have no suggestions sorry, it is so frustrating! Funch suggested writing whatever's running through your mind down!

MrsNPattz · 05/04/2013 07:44

Little man awake at 7, why could he not have slept until my alarm at 8 Confused

MrsNPattz · 05/04/2013 19:21

So, so quiet today - I hope everyone is ok. Maybe I'm the only one who still needs this thread to keep me sane! So I will just carry on even if I am talking to myself lol

I had a lovely surprise this afternoon, I was sitting there with my boob out expressing when the front door opens and in walks my mum!! I had no idea she was coming Smile

geekette · 05/04/2013 20:44

lovely story npattz! Grin hopefully she will give warning next time?

and probably you are the only one here as you are the only one with enough strength to type! I was up every hour after midnight last night.

I just can't keep up with internet after a night like that ...

MrsNPattz · 05/04/2013 21:08

Lol she has travelled 6 hours and wanted it to be a surprise Grin

I forgot to say, this is the first night I am back in my own bedroom with hubby! Who knows how it will go but we are giving it a go cause I can't stay in the nursery forever!

larlemucker · 05/04/2013 21:35

What a lovely surprise MrsN

We've been to booby group this morn then out for coffee and a walk with a friend.

Baby larles christening invites came so I've been sorting those so I can post then to tomorrow.
Unfortunately non of my mums family are coming though as its my aunties 60th that week so they are all going away for the weekend. AIBU to be pissed off?

MissingMyMarbles · 05/04/2013 22:10

I am reading, MrsN, but am too exhausted to post with this working larkGrin Lovely surprise!

I think I'd be a bit upset too, if it were my family, LarleSadThanks

Missmarbles struggled with a longer day at nursery I think, but was fine by with DH by the time I got in from work and has had a blast with DH these last couple of days. She's tired though probably from the novelty. And do is he GrinGrin!!!

Sorry for not more in depth name checking. Waves to everyone before my eyes actually closeGrin

Pinebarrens · 05/04/2013 22:12

good luck mrspatz we are moving baby pine into his own room tomorrow. he's still up at 3.30 Sad

is everyone dream feeding? im not sure if/how to drop it...

Anypants · 05/04/2013 22:33

Larle the green stringy stuff is nothing to worry about - had the same and asked hv who said it's just down to what you eat!
I managed to get DD to sleep at 4ish.this morning, after sitting on the sofa and sobbing for about an hour muttering obscenities to her. Been cluster feeding since 6pm so hopefully she'll clock off soon and not give a repeat performance of last night!

MrsNPattz · 05/04/2013 23:29

First feed here, I thought me moving out might have miraculously made him sleep through Blush

MrsNPattz · 06/04/2013 00:27

No little man, being wide awake at 11:30 is not acceptable, we love you to pieces but it's so frustrating Confused

larlemucker · 06/04/2013 01:56

Thanks anypants, god knows what I've eaten to cause that!!
I totally feel for you, I was like that a couple of days ago. At 3am I just sat in the bed and cried hysterically.
Sorry no advice to help DD sleep but wanted you to know I feel your pain, feel free to vent to us anytime.

First feed here which means for the second time this week I've had more than an hours sleep in one go, woo hoo!!
