Grin I had a whole week's worth of posting to do!
Tonight is interesting Hmm Having vommed an entire feed just before bedtime kid of course woke up hungry. Is also still pooing for Britain - including when I had just picked him up from a fresh nappy change. He is now flailing round the bed, having perked right up when I tried to write this post, and tried to abandon his bottlein favour of grabbing the phone off me.
brain DH is pretty good with kid, sees him more at the moment I think. We have patches when he barely sees him if there are parents' evenings etc. There are odd moments, like I have to remind him to feed solids and leave them ready, or he will just give a bottle. But I think we are lucky.

Wow last night was such an improvement, bed at 7 then no wakings until half 1, then down again until half 5 when we co slept until now. I feel loads better for a half decent nights kip :)

brain my DH is by his own admission "a bit shit with babies" Hmm which translates to him not really doing anything with babylump other than the odd cuddle or ten minutes playing until she cries and gets handed back to me... Tbh although I know it sounds bad its ok because he's so fantastic with dd1, once she got to about 10 months and was past that real baby stage he felt more able to communicate with her and now they're like the terrible twosome :) I'm sure he'll be just as good with babylump once she's past her current stage of histrionics whenever I'm not around.

Got to get up and have brekkie now then force myself to go to the dentist.

Oh ffs. His bum just won't stop (sorry tmi!!)
Means we can't go to classes, see anyone with a baby etc etc. I am going to get cabin fever. My next post might be an incoherent ramble about my imaginary friend who lives on the shelf above the tv. Hmm

Little man was up for an hour earlier, but then slept until 8 so not so bad!

Brain, hubby is really good with little man but as you might have seen, we had to have a chat about how much he was going out!

Oh GoatSad Hope poor little Kid. Hope he's better soon.

Heff, clearly, your DH and mine are cut from the same cloth. He also admits to being shit with babies, but is fab once they're a little older. He and DD1 have a great time together. He's also much much better this time around so yes, words were had first time around!

Hope you manage to get sorted with your family Larle.

Rubbish night, but better than the night before, although yes my two are still tag-teaming an assault on any potential stretch of sleep. DM is coming later though so they can tag-team her insteadWink

Morning all.
Bad day today as its 5 years since my mum suddenly passed away Sad. Because of this I am waiting to call the family and sort things out as emotions will be running high at the mo.

goat well done with the name checking, very impressive! I can hardly remember what I have typed half the time let alone what other people have written! Hope kid is better soon and he doesn't pass whatever he has onto you and the rest of the family.

Heff and Marbles I think its a man thing. My Dh has always had so much more patience than me but with baby larle his patience runs out very quickly and can't cope with his crying. He even went so far as to saying baby larle hated him as he found it so hard to settle him. I don' think it helps them when you are breast feeding as its so easy to stick them on a boob to calm them down. Having said that Dh bathes baby larle, gets him ready for bed every night and gives him his bottle (of expressed milk no more formula woohoo).

Well I am trying to gather myself to go down the cemetery with baby larle, went to the local garden centre yest and bought a lovely planter for mum. Its just so sad that baby larle will never meet her, she would have spoiled him rotten!!

goat poor little kid hope he's back to his normal bouncy self soon, and that you've hung on to your sanity in the mean time.

My mouth feels all beaten up, and I've got to go back for part 2 on the 20th :(

Thinking of you today, Larle; anniversaries are really hard Thanks

Well, Missmarbles is asleep already! She had a mammoth 2 hour nap this morning and I'm sure she would have gone longer if I hadn't disturbed her. She then fell asleep again 2 hours after waking up (although she was in the doing so all bets are off then), and she's been yawning and grizzly all afternoon. She did have rosy cheeks and a hot face in the night so I hope it's teeth coupled with the crap naps yesterday and poor nights the last two, rather than her brewing anything.

See you all later. Going to tidy up s bit downstairs. DM is on her way Grin

Thinking of you larle, must be tough :( virtual hugs.

Heff - Confused at dentist! Hope you're ok!!

Well I've got a very very snotty baby :( with a cough too. He's not at all happy. So am likely in for a bad night as usual! I spoke to HV today, she assures me sleep will improve once he's fully weaned.... If it doesn't then I'm packing him off to stay at her house the night! Grin

I had my hair chopped today and bought some new clothes (size 16 - bit depressing) but new boots too - size 8 - the only size 8 ill ever be is feet!!

My best mate is on a date tonight! I set her up on e harmony as she was really down after being dumped by an idiot :(. I'm excited on her behalf! Xx

Poor baby Bee - hope he feels better soon and doesn't give you a rough night Amey!

Hope your mouth settles Heff!

Hope little one is sleeping now Marbles!

Bedtime here. I didn't go to Cinebabies this morning. We walked to Asda instead and I made Creamy Sweetcorn Soup. Hubby had half day so I got a two hour nap this afternoon while he took little man to his mums. Was lovely, so how can I still be tired?! Blood tests came back normal so I just have to accept being shattered.

Tooth still isn't through so am wondering how tonight will be! Night all xx

Larle, thinking of you and hoping you are remembering your mum at her best, it helps me to do that with loved ones though I am lucky to still have both parents and stepmum.

Goat so glad you are back in circulation!

Heff sorry to hear of root canal pain, hope it is all behind you very soon.

I am going to be a teensy bit controversial here and refuse to let the fellas off the hook - I think crapness with babies can be partly overcome with practice

Mrsn have you been tested for interactive thyroid? My mum felt awful with it for ages til she was diagnosed. They only tested her because my uncle we diagnosed and it runs in families sometimes, despite her having classic symptoms.nntiredness is the main indicator I believe.

Oops underactive thyroid not interactive!! Though an interactive thyroid could be the first step towards human wifi hotspots....

Arf @ an interactive thyroid.

Hi all. Hoping that its okay to join in the fun.

Have dd2 who will be 8 weeks on friday. She is on hypoallergenic, non milk foul tasting formula after a horrendous start to life.

Would love to know...

How do you get longer between feeds?

She currently goes 4oz every 3 hours but only sleeping for 2 inbetween as she takes an hour to finish a bottle!

Would be so happy for a bit longer at least

Report
GoatBongosAnonymous · 06/03/2013 23:08

tinkle welcome! And congratulations on your DD. sorry to hear about the tough start for you both.
I really sympathise with the slow bottle feeds - Kid was exactly the same, and feeding often. He was prem and couldn't suck properly for ages. I promise it does get better eventually - I think for Kid it was partly having enough weight on him (this helped hunger levels too!) and simply practising. In the meantime I hope you have someone who can do relief shifts for you. It can be so difficult, not just because of sleep deprivation but just because there is never any space for you, physically or mentally. Take care of yourself!

I too am Grin at the interactive thyroid! New era I'm teaching dawns...

Sadly Missmarbles did not settle so is in bed with me, had a feed and gone over now. She is very upset about something, which is most unlike her Sad DD1 is also in here and DH is in her room as he has to work in the morning and couldn't possibly be disturbed by me cosleeping [hmn] I happen to agree with you Funch, but as I'm still breast feeding and didn't express much I suppose I didn't persuade DH hard enough. Probably not a good night to talk about his ineptitude it, though as I am very pissed off with him for a variety of reasons and could remain objectiveAngry and breathe.....

First feed here - for some reason I thought I had checked the time a while ago and it was 2, so I thought it was about 4 no and was shocked when I saw the time Blush must have been dreaming!

Funch lol! yea I think one of the blood tests was for my thyroid! I think maybe it's just being a mum that tires me out lol don't know how you manage, working full time as well.

Morning. Thank you for your kind words, baby larle has snuggled with me all day which has made me feel better.

This is our first feed of the night! Baby larle has been asleep since about 11! Had to get up and express! Maybe he knew I needed a good sleep tonight to recharge after an emotionally draining day.

Welcome twinkle, sorry to hear you and LO had abad start. Sorry but no advice re slow feeding, I'm breast feeding and baby larle had no problems taking a bottle. Have you spoken to HV? Maybe you need to try a different bottle/teat.

Sorry to everyone out there with poorly LOs, hope they get better soon.

Is an interactive thyroid one where you have a little dial on you neck like you have for the central heating to control it?!!

Report
MrsNPattz · 07/03/2013 06:53

Still awake here, really hoping for some more sleep!

Welcome Twinkle!

We are coming up to weaning time, and I feel a bit sad about it. His feeds will start dropping so he will need my milk less Sad and I also just can't believe he's at that age already! Is this normal or am I nuts?

tinkletinklestar · 07/03/2013 07:34

Hi.

I had the best night so far last night, 10-3.

It seems being a bit cruel yesterday helped, I was distracting/white noise/ rocking until she reached 4 hours for the next feed.

I think shes only been drinking 3oz hence the lack if space between feeds. Hopefully I can keep this up today!
