Going from bad to worse here. He has out of nowhere got an awful chesty cough :( poor mite sounds terrible. Think sleep training may need to wait. He's back in the cot in our room for time being. Fed up of teething/illness/unsettledness as im sure you all are too! :(

Funch - literally 2 days after I took a pg test with babybee (so was 4 weeks preg?) I went to a toddler group & another mum asked me whether DD would go to nursery more hours when baby comes? I was like err yeah is she psychic? Oh no just my belly after XmasGrin

larlemucker · 22/03/2013 22:28

The day after my first appointment with midwife, I was 4 weeks, my boss asked if I was pregnant! How do they know!

Baby larle fast asleep when we went to bed, I start to fall asleep, he wakes up. How do they know??

larlemucker · 22/03/2013 22:29

Oh and I bought a pair of shoes in the next sale today GrinGrin

Susieloo · 22/03/2013 22:47

Hello everyone

First feed of the night done and I'm waiting five minutes before attempting transfer.

Horrible few days with a very poorly db who has now been hospitalised after a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes but we are still waiting on the results of a chest x ray to rule out lung cancer (he's a smoker). All very horrible but relieved to have an explanation as to why he looks so awful-he's two stone underweight, the chest x ray was Thursday so I'm hoping because we have not heard anything it's no news is good news and that if there was a problem they would have told him by now.

I'm going to my friends again tomorrow night so hoping for no more choking on book episodes or broken phones and dp has an easy night, last night was horrible with constant waking between 1 and 5 when I finally put him in bed with me because I couldn't face getting up-this is pointless really because I can't get comfortable enough to go back to sleep-really need an easier night.

Sleepy dust to all.

MrsNPattz · 23/03/2013 00:34

First feed here, the wind is making his room cold again - it's already in the 16s.

Amey his bottom ones are most of the way through now! Poor baby Bee - hope his cough doesn't last.

Yey for more new shoes!

Susie so sorry you have had such a horrible time, I hope your db will be ok.

MissingMyMarbles · 23/03/2013 00:57

Having a nightmare of a night......

Susieloo · 23/03/2013 01:38

Us too marbles, up again for more milk and think we are in for a repeat of last nights hour to settle and then up every hour-gutted

It's snowing which means my trip to my friends is in doubt, I'm so desperate to go I'll be gutted if I can't.

Bb thinks its playtime-oh good

larlemucker · 23/03/2013 02:00

Seriously crap night here too. Baby larle been up 4 times since half 10. Losing the will here Hmm

I really can't cope with falling asleep for 10mins and then being women again. It's doing my head in. How come he can fall asleep for 3 hours in the afternoon and not sleep at night? Tried to co sleep but he just wailed so feeding to sleep again.

Don't get me wrong I love my DS just only during daylight hours

larlemucker · 23/03/2013 02:01

Woken not women, if I wasn't so pissed off I'd laugh

Susieloo · 23/03/2013 02:07

Grin at women larle

I'll join you in losing the plot, can't believe I am probably up for the day in three hours-it's soul destroying

MrsNPattz · 23/03/2013 03:59

Second feed, and a blue groegg again. I want sleep and warmth Sad

SoYo · 23/03/2013 04:30

Second feed here. No daytime naps here as MiniYo alternated between full feeds, boob grazing & screaming all bloody day & evening. Could really do with her becoming more efficient at this feeding lark so it didn't take 75-90mins to get full! Last few nights she's grizzled & never really gone back to sleep properly after this feed so fingers crossed I can feed her into submission now & get a couple more hours in.

Also just looked out the window and bloody loads of snow here. DM & DF were supposed to be visiting today, was looking forward to them taking bubba & PuppyMonster for a couple of hours while DH and I napped! Boo.

ratbagcatbag · 23/03/2013 04:47

Hi all

Sounds a tough night :( what I want to know is his does mini cat bag do it, I get ready to change her nappy, i know she wees the moment I wipe her, so I am now honed to the speed of an Olympic relay baton changer in nappy off, wipe done, cotton wool dry off and new nappy open ready to be utilised fully or capture said wee, how the fudge have I thenhad to change her twice because my speed is not good enough and she's soaked vests. Argh.

Also when doing all this, winding three times during feed and sitting her up right fir thirty mins to avoid sickness do I lose over an hour of my life?!?!?

Groegg yellow but bloody. He'll doesn't feel like it, brrrrrr

Babybeesmama · 23/03/2013 05:05

Hideous night here. Worse than having a newborn! He's not slept for more than 1.5 hours at a time. Sounds really croupey - hope we don't need to get to nhs walk in centre Tomo as snow awful.

I'm beyond knackered.....

Susie, sorry to hear about DB, hope all ok xx

BrainGoneAwol · 23/03/2013 05:08

Hello all. Wireless has decided to mostly not work in babybrain's room so I can't usually get on the internet at night now. - though weirdly is currently working.

Looks like some awful nights recently Sad. Babybrain seems to have settled into a 6.00, 11.00, 4.00, 5.00/6.00 pattern which is pretty good though I have probably now jinxed it. Just need to sort out the early morning which can be hit and miss.

Strangely I'm as tired as I ever was. I wonder if 7 months of too little sleep is just catching up with me. I've just come through to babybrain absolutely screaming because I'd forgotten to unmute the monitor from his 11.00 feed. Blush Awful mummy Sad

Sleepy dust to everyone. Sorry for the lack of name check. I'd need a huge post to catch up on several days and my tiny screen can't cope.

larlemucker · 23/03/2013 05:25

amey same here, not had more than an hour In one go. Totally knackered.
Meant to be going to a birthday party this afternoon but been snowing all night and I don't know if I have the energy to socialise Hmm

Babybeesmama · 23/03/2013 05:50

I've given up larle! I'm sat holding him in bed waiting for calpol to kick in. DH is snoring bastard he's getting up with him at 7 & I intend to sleep all morning, luckily DM is here to help out.

I know he's poorly but I still feel utterly depressed about the sleeping, I'm wondering if it will ever improve?!? :( I think I have aged ten years x

geekette · 23/03/2013 07:04

it's been a while. haven't slept since my last posts in last thread. crickey.

baby geek is 7 months today. I should be proud of something. I think. but all I can think of is the horrible nights.

she wakes up as soon as we go to bed. how? she has been in her own room for at least a month now! she can't hear us...

and after that she is up every 1-2 hours till I give up at 6 or 7 am. she'll settle down for a nap an hour or two afterwards, when I can't sleep anymore Angry

I am just annoyed with her and secretly wonder if it isn't all my fault...

Smallgreenone · 23/03/2013 07:43

susie hope db is ok.
amey sorry to hear baby bee is poorly but at least you have a reason for the bad nights.
Baby small was good last night despite only taking 4oz of milk at 6.30 he went until 11 and then 2.30 and then up at 6 so a huge improvement on the night before. This is what I don't understand how is one night so different from the next when his routine stays the same Confused
brain it will definitely be 7 months of no sleep. I feel the same even when we have a good night I am still shattered and I think it's just the cumulative effect of sleep deprivation and the fact that the newborn bubble has burst!
Ridiculous amount of snow here am off to stoke up the fire and throw logs in the wood burner to keep us all toasty.

abi2790 · 23/03/2013 08:23

Only had one feed last night but couldn't post cos my eyes were too stingy Sad

It's so cold Sad definitely an excuse to get in bed with ds to keep warm Grin

GoatBongosAnonymous · 23/03/2013 09:03

Here we went until 10:30, settled him until 11;30 feed, then up to settle every half hour until 4. Believe it or not that's an improvement. Confused then DH took him so I could get some sleep as I am working today.

Sorry for all the bad nights. I agree the shatteredness is cumulative, plus just the sheer relentlessness of having a baby that needs constant stimulation during the day as well, so no let up. No watching silly daytime telly while having an awake cuddle like there was with a newborn!!

OP posts:
SoYo · 23/03/2013 09:29

Babybeesmama try taking him into the bathroom with shower on hot so it's steamy, if It's croup it will help.

We put her down at 2 after hour feed, woke up wringing at 3, settled by 3.15, up at 4 for hour feed then just whined, rooted, cried and fed until woke DH up at 8 the at 8.20 he brought her back to me for snother feed. I'm now very very stingy eyed and going to bed.

Bloody freezing all night too. 6 inches of snow here. At least PuppyMonster is happy, she loves the white stuff!

MrsNPattz · 23/03/2013 09:44

Up at 9, sounds like some horrendous nights so I can't really complain about mine! I think we will have to leave the heating on when it's windy like this cause it's ridiculous how cold it gets in his room!

Hope baby bee feels better soon -poor little thing, and poor you Amey!

We have such an exciting day planned - cleaning!!

BrainGoneAwol · 23/03/2013 10:11

Dp took babybrain off my hands this morning so I got another 3 hours - still shattered though Hmm

geekette it's definitely not your fault. All of us here are proof that some babies are just wakeful. It will pass...

Agree it's relentless. I definitely look back on the newborn days and think how easy he was even though he fed a lot. The extra stimulation they need as they get older is really wearing. I'm almost look forward to the teenager who will slump in front of the tv Grin

MrsNPattz · 23/03/2013 10:23

Yea it is hard work now they need stimulating in the day, along with the messiness of weaning! I think breast feeding takes it out of me too, so I really feel it when he's waking for more feeds during the night!

We are all in this together SmileWineBrewThanks
