Can't believe we are on part 7! and I'm still here

Welcome one and all Smile

Ah larle, I'm sure they'll be fine. Though I felt awful each time telling babybrain we were going for a lovely walk and then taking him for jabs!

marbles I bet half those people would never be like that irl. It's like people and cars. For some reason they feel invulnerable and so get into a 'fight' far more readily than they would dare normally if there was any real comeback.

How about a thread called 'aibu to expect people on here not to be nasty because they can hide behind anonymity?' Sooo tempting! Hmm

Anyway, hopefully have got sufficient food into babybrain for him to both trf and sleep for long. Aibu?! Grin

Panzee · 01/03/2013 03:23

He's only 8 days old.

EeyoresGloomyPlace · 01/03/2013 04:45

Haha brain that'd be a great thread, although somehow you'd probably still end up with a pasting they seem able to find offence in everything! I had a thread in AIBU last month and got a proper flogging mostly because people didn't even bother to read the OP properly. I got a bit peed off so don't think I'll be starting another anytime soon! amey you're holding your own fantastically, what a bunch of prats they are being!

Tying to get babylump back to bed here with little success, so tired :( Hope everyone's sleeping soundly xx

MissingMyMarbles · 01/03/2013 05:24

Up practically every hour between both my childrenSad
Last night must have been a blip as Missmarbles has reverted to 2 hourly feeding. Yet another leaky nappy. Seems to be volume rather than size but I may try the next size up. She's now chatting away to the fish on her ceiling as the nappy change had woken her up properly.
DD1's temp is still raging despite calpol. She's had burden during the day but I'm reluctant to give her that really as she's asthmatic and also has had nothing to eat. Have a drs appt booked for next week to see if they can get to the bottom of her temperatures but I think we'll have to try and get into emergency clinic tomorrow. She's now got cold symptoms but they only developed at lunchtime so doesn't really explain the previous 48 hoursSad

MissingMyMarbles · 01/03/2013 05:25

*brufen not burden

MrsNPattz · 01/03/2013 05:55

Second feed - does anyone have any ideas as to why he might have started waking more? looks hopeful

MrsNPattz · 01/03/2013 06:19

Ok so second feed has turned into wide awake, I really don't want to start the day at 5:40 Hmm

larlemucker · 01/03/2013 07:23

Up for the second feed, baby larle is doing much better at transferring. Glad when he woke up tho as very engorged this morn!!!!
Really dreading today Confused

Babybeesmama · 01/03/2013 07:29

Mrsn - he's probably getting ready for weaning, that's my guess or could be teething. But if its just for feeds and goes back to sleep easy I'd say weaning.

DH did night duty and I slept in with DD till 6 (when DH asked me to help) butDD was unsettled till 2 Confused so feel tired. But DH did manage to keep him in cot all night so that's good! X

Smallgreenone · 01/03/2013 09:02

A good night here! Fed at 2 and one minor grumble somewhere between 3 and 7 but I didn't even get out of bed or look at the time and he'd gone back to sleep. Woke up to raspberry blowing through the monitor at 6.45 so I'm pretty happy with that. Still tired though!
Mrsn, how old is he? Could be developmental if he's learning new tricks? When baby small first rolled he was doing it all night in his sleep! Or as amey says, hungry and ready for food.

BrainGoneAwol · 01/03/2013 09:21

So fed at sensible intervals last night but still waking every 2.5 hours with serious fidgeting and moaning. I think solids are making his digestion uncomfortable. He's not constipated but moans for hours and the poos hugely in the morning... Does that sound familiar to anyone with other los on solids?

MrsReiver · 01/03/2013 09:21

Right, I'm marking my place on this thread now because I couldn't find it at 2am this morning when I really needed it! I'm back to nightfeeds after 9 years since DS2 arrived last Friday and it's a real shock to the system - he's sound just now so I'm away for a nap!

larlemucker · 01/03/2013 11:01

Welcome MrsReiver and congratulations on the birth of your LO

Baby larle fast asleep after his jabs, screamed at the first one and held his breath for what felt like an eternity, second one cried a bit and fell asleep. A very brave boy, so proud of him!!

Babybeesmama · 01/03/2013 12:21

That's really good small! Hope baby small keeps it up! X

funchum8am · 01/03/2013 13:10

welcome mrsR are you a border Reiver?!

larle glad jabs went ok!

I am expressing at work just now - my supply at this time has gone huge today so I guess has realised this is now pumping time. Let's hope I don't get stuck in a situation where I can't pump at lunch as I will leak!

We had a much better night, DH fed twice and she actually stayed asleep in between. One nappy change needed but otherwise fine. Solution may have been keeping her room warmer....I have given birth to a proper southerners baby!Shock

EeyoresGloomyPlace · 01/03/2013 16:13

Welcome MrsR, congratulations on the birth of your ds2 :)

Not great night last night, babylump very unsettled so lots of shouting and whinging even once fed and being cuddled. Counting down until first tastes now, thinking we'll start sometime in the next few weeks as she's 5 months now and was born 2 weeks late so the magic 'around 6 months' mark is fast approaching. Need to swot up as dd1 was weaned earlier and all purées but I'm interested in a bit of blw this time.

Those of you who have started what line have you taken or a mix of both?

MrsReiver · 01/03/2013 16:13

DH is from a Reiving family yes Grin

MrsNPattz · 01/03/2013 17:05

Welcome MrsR!

Heff we are going to do BLW. I have read the book and like the sound of it. Little man is 6 months in 2 weeks so I'm aiming for starting then! Excited and a bit nervous lol

Thanks for replies re waking! He is nearly 6 months, he does some to move in his cot more and bashes the sides - maybe that wakes him? Or maybe you are right re weaning, but see above Grin

Susieloo · 01/03/2013 18:26

Hello-tired and off for a huge gin so will catch up on thread later, dp on night feeds but we've fallen into a pattern if he does the first one and then I pick up any subsequent wakings-you know the really difficult to get back to sleep 4-5am ones!!!

Have good nights everyone

Welcome reiver Smile

BrainGoneAwol · 01/03/2013 18:57

We started blw two weeks ago and it seems to be going well. Toast crusts (or bread with a good crust), cooked baby sweetcorn, steamed carrot/parsnip sticks have all been winners. Banana got some very odd expressions though! Grin

Thick cucumber rounds have been great for his teeth as well.

Pear slices was also a favourite, but I've cut down on that since he ate a whole quarter and pooed everywhere afterwards.

We're now onto half cherry tomatos tat he sucks the middle out of Grin. Porridge, mash and tastes of lasagna were ok but not met with huge enthusiasm.

ChilliBanana · 01/03/2013 19:14

We've kind of been doing blw and roast veg seem to be the best, something easy to grip but still easy to chew. Chicken was a surprise favourite Smile brain do youcook the pears? We've been having issues with fruit - too cooked and he can't pick them up because they fall apart, cooked a little less and he just sucks the chunks and little bits keep getting sucked down his throat, making him gag.

I've had a lovely 2 nights - DH has done them until 4am-ish, so I've had lovely sleeps. Back to the grind tonight though, so no doubt I'll be seeing some of you later.

MissingMyMarbles · 01/03/2013 19:35

Missmarbles loves broccoli and cauliflower as well coz she can hold the stalks and munch the flower bitsGrin

Babybeesmama · 01/03/2013 19:55

Hey everyone! I'm also doing a bit of purée and a bit of BLW - he loves munching banana and sucking apple, but when he gets a piece off he does gag a bit, I'm not brave enough to go whole hog BLW! But hoping doing a bit of both will be ok! He loves pear purée and sweet potato purée!

We are at DM for weekend, DH has stayed home to revise for exam on Monday not at all jealous of him having x2 full nights sleep AND lie ins

Anyhow! I'm not checking my AIBU thread again! Fed up of being crucified! X

ChilliBanana · 01/03/2013 20:51

Oh amey I meant to comment on how brave you were starting a thread in AIBU in the first place, I'm sure most of them lurk pitchforks in hand to pounce on the unwary!
