Yack first feed here after only an hour asleep, why why why.

Heff hope your sister is ok.

Yea I was probably being sick too - I had it quite bad and was signed off work for 2 weeks at one point! Were you sick with both pregnancies Heff?

larlemucker · 24/02/2013 22:32

heff what to expect the first year says that it increases the chance of them developing a peanut allergy. Hope your Dsis is ok.
v good top gear tonight, like it when they do really silly stuff!!

MissingMyMarbles · 24/02/2013 22:38

I thought the peanut thing was only if you have a family history of allergies, like when pregnant? Although the peanut pregnancy advice is now thought to be outdated, as well, isn't it?

It's funny isn't it? I hate bring pregnant (sick as a dog and have complications) but I love the thought of bring pregnant again and growing another bambino despite current sleep deprivation or maybe because of it Grin

BrainGoneAwol · 25/02/2013 01:40

Third wake here since 10pm. Dp had to wake me as I'd woken, muted the monitor and then fallen asleep dreaming I was getting up. You could hear poor babybrain crying through the wall Sad. Think I might be a bit overtired!

Agree about the pregnancy thing. I had a fairly horrendous birth but would do it all again. We are crazy...

Also thought the peanut thing was if you had a history. But I may be wrong. Could see what nhs direct says.

Waves to everyone else Smile

MissingMyMarbles · 25/02/2013 03:03

Not having a horrendous night but been up a lot since midnight settling. Trying to stay awake for this mammoth third feed but hope it will last til morning. Currently being used as a dummy I thinkHmm

Panzee · 25/02/2013 03:16

Hello! Time for me to join! I have a lovely 3 day old and am watching the Oscars. Shame it's not on every night...

Susieloo · 25/02/2013 03:29

Welcome panzee

Second feed here and very zzzzzzzzzzzz

MrsNPattz · 25/02/2013 03:43

Second feed here - haven't had two feeds for a long while. Hope it's quick!

BrainGoneAwol · 25/02/2013 03:59

Hello panzee welcome and congratulations Smile

susie hope you managed to stay awake!

marbles hope you get to sleep!

mrsn hope waking is short lived.

We're on yet another wake/feed. Does this child not need to sleep?! I wonder if he's reverse cycling...

larlemucker · 25/02/2013 04:16

Well baby larle has been asleep since about 8pm!!!! Had a lovely sleep but now worried that he has gone so long between feeds and woken up engorged so just washing and sterilising pump!!! He was a nightmare yest, wouldn't nap for longer than 45 mins so must be exhausted. Don't know if I should wake him to feed, it's been 9 hours since his last feed,

Sorry to all those having a bad night and welcome pansee

larlemucker · 25/02/2013 04:44

Typically as I was debating whether to wake/dream feed he woke up. Now will he go back to sleep?!!!

BrainGoneAwol · 25/02/2013 06:13

They have a sixth sense about these things. babybrain has an uncanny ability to sleep for several hours in the evening (in his own room) and then wake up just as I am drifting off to sleep!

Woke to him screaming again Sad .

Ameybee · 25/02/2013 08:15

Morning all! DH did night duty! Must've been feeling bad! I slept in DD's room, she tried to squeeze in bed with me a couple of times but it was a good nights sleep in comparison! I was in bed at 815pm too!

Sorry to hear of a few rough ones, think DH was up x3 which is better than last few nights.

Lost 3lbs this week Grin that's made me happy, have been really good for once, & much less wine than usual! Just need to keep it up!

Funch - hope work goes well - let us know! Xxx

larlemucker · 25/02/2013 08:30

Glad you had a better night amey and that Dh has made it up to you and well done on the weight loss

MissingMyMarbles · 25/02/2013 08:42

Welcome Panzee

Another feed at 6.20 which I decided to co-sleep for a further hour, only it was 5.20 not 6.20! Poor DH ended up just getting up. We got an extra 2 1/2 hours though Wink

MrsNPattz · 25/02/2013 09:20

Up at 8 here - he woke at some point, maybe 6 but I just put Ewan on in a sleepy haze and he went back to sleep. Not a great night, hopefully I will get a nap in the car.

Amey that's brilliant - well done!! That's the boost you needed. I have stuck to it religiously and it's been so hard while being back at home so I hope it shows tomorrow!!

Welcome Panzee!

BrainGoneAwol · 25/02/2013 10:34

What to do..? Dp usually bounces on an exercise ball to settle babybrain - we didn't bring it to devon so dp can't use it. Result is a screaming baby who dp can't settle. I walk in and babybrain stops immediately. A moment of singing and he's asleep.

It's so hard. Dp needs to find a way to settle him (also refuses a bottle so that's not an option) but I can see how depressing it is to have me appear and suddenly babybrain is quiet.

Also means I have to do all the feeds and settling. Dp is good at taking him to play for a few hours at the weekend so I have a lie in, but it's not really enough.

Sad really not how either of us want it...

Ameybee · 25/02/2013 14:44

Ot o brain! Does bouncing on edge of bed have same effect? That's what my DH use to do! X

MrsNPattz · 25/02/2013 18:16

It has taken us over 8 hours to get home and we are still not back yet! Major accident on M6 resulting in a detour and 2 hours of traffic. We are all very tired and fed up. But as I just said to hubby at least we are not the families of the people who got killed. We just passed another major accident - someone was being cut out of their car Sad it's very scary and there are just so many it seems. The world is a scary place sometimes - wish I could wrap my baby in cotton wool and not let him grow up Blush

MissingMyMarbles · 25/02/2013 18:41

This does not bode well....
Stuck in traffic for 25 mins for a journey that normally takes 7 or 8, cue late nap for Missmarbles, who is clearly tired but still has sufficient fighting power. She's normally asleep for nighttime by nowConfused Oh, and we have guests for dinner in half an hour. And, DD1 is poorly. AgainSad

Susieloo · 25/02/2013 19:04

Hope you get home soon mrsn and marbles

Ameybee · 25/02/2013 19:15

Oh no mrsn - there seems to be a lot of accidents on the m6 recently.

Bedtime here, DH took DD to co op and bought her a buttons yoghurt - not recommended before bed - she's hyper!! he won't do that again

Think I may have upset MIL - DH's brother lives in Sweden & they visit regularly and constantly compare & say how good it is there which I find a bit frustrating. Anyway yesterday I asked would they ever live there & she said oh yes, we love it there, & would go if we weren't having baby bee when you go back to work (only one day), I thought about it today, so text n said, in a nice way that we didn't want to stop them moving & could arrange alternative childcare If that was only thing stoping them. Anyway, she replied saying she didn't want me thinking they love DH's brother n kids more etc & they had no intention to move ??? Why say it then? Hope its not akward next time I see her - do you think I've said wrong thing?? X

Susieloo · 25/02/2013 20:46

Don't think you have said the wrong thing amey, they probably never had any real intention of moving there so said it just for the sake of it, I would have had to ask them to clarify exactly what they meant if it was me.

We are on fourth wake up since bed, I hate this cold, it's going on to his chest a bit now, he's taken to turning on his side and hanging on to the sides of his cot when he wakes up crying-it's very dramatic!!!

Susieloo · 25/02/2013 20:58

5th wake up since bed now, lots of coughing and I just can't see him settling anywhere but on me which means zero sleep unles I bring him in to our bed which means dp on the sofa.

MrsNPattz · 25/02/2013 21:00

I don't think you have said anything wrong either Amey! Don't worry.

I'm hoping this is bed time feed so that I can join him.
