I spent seven years trying to convince DH he ought to at least taste it. He finally did a week ago when the baby was on a nursing strike, my boobs resembled hot melons and I had no pump. At first he didn't know whether or not to swallow and was a bit furtive, but when let down came along he got inappropriately enthusiastic.

After that I found it easier to drain my own boobs.

Mercifully the whole sorry episode is now behind us and ds4 is back on the breast. (As I write in fact).

i tried to get my dh to taste some expressed, but he was having none of it!!

tried some myself and couldnt believe how sweet it was.

felt completely weird tho'.

My DH insists that he is trying it once my milk comes in - more of an inquisitive than anything else though. Stillwetting myself at Welshboris' post!

PMSL Spidey.
DP tasted it quite often, and when I asked him about it during last night's programme, he said he found it erotic.
But I didn't bf him, as such.
He used to take a very keen interest in me expressing, and ask if he could do the pumping etc. It drove me wild with fury, as I found it quite stressful, and the last thing I wanted was him hanging lecherously over the whole operation.

My sister left her small baby with us once years ago to have a w/end away with her dh.
Said she got very engorged and her dh had to suck the milk off and spit it in the hotel sink (no,she never got the hang of expressing.)

How we laffed...

Jeez! I don't think my DH would accommodate me that way - he only wants to taste it, not get a gob full, but then if needs must!

I understand Dizzie saying it is a weird mix of maternal and sexual. Exactly how I feel. Also unlike some of those women on that programme last night I find nothing enjoyable about breastfeeding baby or Man.

A year on and my nipples are still sensitinve although not traumatised as during hte first few weeks.

Gave EBM to FIL as revenge for him expecting a cup of tea when I had a 2 week old baby. Apparently I make a great cup of tea.

Warning.... never accept a drink with ice from a house with a breast-feeding mother! My sister's husband served Bailey's with ice (BM in ice cube tray!). Mind you, when you have had a few ... who cares?!?!!

I have tasted my own, just to see what the baby was getting and it was too sweet for me. Far too curious not to, quite frankly. Asked DH if he wanted to taste it (he is quite a foodie and normally will try anything) but he wasn't remotely up for it. I should add that the offer was for a taste of EBM - I would find it far too weird for him to have a go at source!

I would find it more gag worthy to drink from a bottle of EBM, myself. Squirting a bit on your finger or having a quick slurp seems natural to me, but actually drinking it from a container seems weird. Don't know why and I am not saying anyone here is weird (blimey that would be a bit pot and kettle )
