How fast they went from blaming the ‘boats' to just outright racism against Black people. I’m now genuinely done on this site.

So I think some posters haven’t realized which topic section they are in. I came here from the ‘trending’ panel - I didn’t realize it was Black Mumsnetters section.

I suspect you will get a few posters missing the nuance of the topic.

I don't know what you are hoping to achieve with your posts, but you are doing yourself a disservice. This thread was started by a Black Women in distress about what is happening, and the knock on effect it is having on her. She is not alone. You are not even helping other BW on this thread, I highly doubt.

im white, and appalled by the sheer amount of racism on this site and others. It seems like we’re going backwards as a society. I’m sorry many of you are treated this way.

I don’t know what the answer is to becoming a kind, inclusive place but I pray it happens soon.

I too have been an immigrant. It wasn’t fun, and I ended up returning to my country of origin partly because of it. But frankly, I would take any support I could get at the time. From which ever quarters it came from.

Certainly I would imagine that 99% of people in general are better than you.

I have yellow hair and pale skin. One line of my ancestors were black Jamaicans. I don’t pity you or feel superior? I just don’t like people make assumptions about people based on the colour of their skin, religion, sexuality, whatever. That’s all I was trying to get across.

We need support, as you rightly have pointed out. Otherwise what hope is there? Racism must not be allowed to flourish unchecked. It harms us all, one way, or another.

I'm not surprised by the comments in the other threads. The mumsnetter who advocated for this space was subjected to vile abuse. I believe it made her quite unwell and Mumsnet did very little via way of support. Nothing has changed.

The Huntington threads are just another opportunity for some to be openly racist, some comment to deliberately stoke the flames of hatred. In a way, I prefer people show the truth of who they are. The mental gymnastics that they demonstrated as they pieced together a narrative that suited their agenda was predictable.

I’ve been suspicious for a while that there’s AI/bots operating on forums, likely funded by Musk. First noticed it in the last six months, when the amount of pro-Israeli discussions went through the roof. I tell myself it’s AI, as it’s much nicer to believe that than think there’s real humans walking among us so full of hate.

I’m white British, and I stand in complete solidarity with black and brown people, British or not, on a boat or not, mental health or not. Thank you for creating this counter thread, it was good to read some sanity.

Mixed Sudanese/egyptian/English ethnicity here. White passing but absolutely heartbroken by the racism I’m seeing out in the open. I stand in support for what it’s worth.

The only time I have seen English people unite was for football. Suddenly they are united and proud to be English and flying their flags loudly. And they feel they have carte Blanche to say what they want and how they want. The media, social media have emboldened them to be openly racist.
