How fast they went from blaming the ‘boats' to just outright racism against Black people. I’m now genuinely done on this site.

I started reading thread one last night and honestly thought it would be zapped during the night. Should've known better.

They got all haughty and offered when called it out this morning, then started congratulating each other for standing up to us posters who are trying to silence their racist views "freedom of speech".

So the 35-year old black man described as British born of Caribbean descent has been released. He was wrongly arrested.

I am white British and I completely agree. Previously when I have flagged posts to Mumsnet they have responded that it is better to have open debate and explain why commentators are wrong, but with the flood of posts on the Huntingdon threads and so much misinformation and hatred being posted almost non-stop that just feels like not just an uphill battle but almost impossible. I am really disappointed by the lack of moderation by Mumsnet. I am concerned that a lot of the views are genuinely felt and seem to be becoming more widespread, but I would like to think that they are not actually reflective of most of society but rather becoming amplified, and probably exploited by some, on social media. And it therefore really is Mumsnet's responsibility to do something about this.

White British and feel ashamed to be when I see some of the comments on those threads. This country feels broken. And it’s not because of immigration or people who aren’t white. It’s the disgusting and dehumanising racism. I wish I knew the answer.

Black people have not looted a single white country, whereas every Black homeland has been brutally looted by white imperialists. Ever heard of the Rhodesian Bush War where 10,000+ Black people were murdered by white British people? This happened in the 1970s!!!!

I think that was to try to reduce the hysteria that was building around blaming immigrants and asylum seekers. The police don’t normally go into detail on race and nationality once they have people in custody.

I think it was to head off attacks on asylum seeker hotels or mosques.

Not just innocent but a victim caught up in an atrocity. I’m furious that these threads have been allowed to stand with unequivocal racism and misinformation. Totally unacceptable.

If I came to the UK and committed a crime I would not be described as British. I would be described as South African. You would all assume then that I am black.
