Hermya, he gets away with everything! Pulls the cheeky face, and looks like the epitome of innocence. It's this face that I think he's going to teach the children, so I'll have my work cut out!

I've cheepskatedly added my email address to my profile, under films/books, email me with something clear about you in the title as this is my spam email address and I don't want to miss it!

Hermya321 · 17/07/2010 17:26

(sorry, rant alert) I work with someone who is of the old school variety. I don't really know what he does to jusitfy his wages, but he sat there today and tore apart some work I'd done for a pointless qualification I'd written up.

You know what the mistake was, I'd written the wrong date on one of the forms and on another one had written two units numbers the wrong way round. Plus he asked me why I hadn't claimed for one of the units, I told him I thought I had. He told me it was a 'piss poor' job. It's actually his job to correct the work and mark the units down. He is in essence an oxygen thief. Muppet!!!

And breathe.

Apart from that I'm fine. Anyone wish to plot with me?

Abfab You have mail!!! My DH gets away with stuff as well, he doesn't really have a cheeky look. He just turns everything into a random outraged comedy rant which normally has me in stitches.

sophieandbelly · 17/07/2010 17:50

hi girls, just checking in, havnt posted for ages!!

all is well i have stupidly signed up for race 4 life tomorrow, at 28 weeks, and a pain wen i walk to fast, think it will be a gentle stroll!

so would u say u were 7 months at 28 weeks? even tho u have 12 weeks to go??

very confussing as ur relly preg for 10 months right!!

still waiting to c consultant next week to c about c-section, so will feel alot calmer and more excited then! cant get past the whole fear thing (this is my 2 dc )

hope ur all feeling well wen does everyone start mat leave?? and do u all have names in mind for the little ones ??

AbFabT · 17/07/2010 20:19

Sorry you're having colleague grief, Hermya! I know how that feels! Let's plot!!!
At least we have cute DHs!

You have mail back!

Wow, sophie - you take it easy on your Race For Life!

I'm counting my months backwards - i.e. I am due on the 4th October, therefore I'll say I'm seven months on 4th August. That doesn't quite work from when you conceive though, so it's all a bit vague, but I like my way!

I was initially planning to start Maternity Leave as late as possible, but as my work have been such pains, I'm already off, but on sick leave, and I don't know if I'll be back.

Have both names lined up, though still debating number of middle names. I'd like two middle names, DH likes the middle names, but thinks one will suffice! You?

Tyson86 · 17/07/2010 20:31

Hi everyone, i went to Kiddicare in Peterborough yesterday hoping to get my baby bouncer and some unique bits and bobs but ended up very disappointed. I got my bouncy chair though!I have my mw appointment on tuesday, im 28+1 weeks today, its been so long since i saw a mw, it was 15+6 weeks last time.
Abfab dont blame you thinking of not going back to work, i wouldnt if they were being pains. Als we are going with 2 middle names, my mums name and a random one we just liked.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 17/07/2010 21:55

Hi. Just popping on to catch up. Had a horrendous jopurney home as my dad was taken ill on the plane and DS1 was awake all night. But we've all recovered now and are enjoying the cooler weather.

We've got two middle names for DD, as we have for all the boys.

floozietoozie · 17/07/2010 23:29

Hi sophie. We have a possible girl's name but no idea about a boy at the moment. As for middles, ds has my mum's maiden name, which is also one of my two middle names, and this baby will have it too. She is part of a very large family, whereas my dad's surname, which is mine too obviously, was actually his stepdad's and my dad didn't change it till my gran got remarried when he was 18, so I felt no need to keep that one going. Also the name is lovely!

Hermya321 · 18/07/2010 10:44

We've got a few ideas for names but don't want to say for definite until we meet him.

Abfab (gets out pad and pen) Right so plotting, I'm ready. Ironically have just spoken to another friend at work whose comment was 'they were probably having a bad day, shame that seems to happen everyday'. I did smile, they're not well received by many of us here.

sophie I'm planning to go at 37 weeks, but my spd is getting worse so I'm not sure how it's going to go really.

BackAgain · 18/07/2010 11:47

hello all, sorry not posted for a while but have been trying to keep up with conversation. Have finally agreed with work when to leave and will be going end of August so about 32 weeks. Will be using annual leave before then to reduce my working week so should get lots of time to be with DD.

And it looks like I will be joining the lovely ladies on the SPD sofa as been suffering with hip and pelvic pain. Midwife has referred me for physio so hopefully it won't get too bad.

On a more positive note, I have started shopping for the baby and DD has her first bike so we have something to smile about.

Hope everyone else has something to smile about too - thoughts to those who are feeling rough and having tough times at work

dontstopmenow · 18/07/2010 20:23

Oh dear - another one here with spd getting worse. Am in agony tonight. On the plus side, have decided to finish this week in work then I am on maternity leave! I know its early but I shall enjoy every minute.

Happy thoughts going out to everyone else suffering with whatever pregnancy grumbles we have

floozietoozie · 18/07/2010 23:31

Backagain - you and I will be going on leave just about the same time. Finishing 1st sept, two days before 32 weeks. Our due dates are only 4 days apart. Sorry earhartear about SPD.

Dontstopmenow, sounds like you are doing the right thing by finishing. Enjoy the time off as much as possible.

Just have to bore you all for a minute. I'm so proud of ds because for the first today, he didn't have any toilet accidents. It's only been two and s half weeks, and he's been poorly during part of that time too.

floozietoozie · 18/07/2010 23:36

That should be "to hear" about the spd - iPhone typing gone doolally .

sophieandbelly · 19/07/2010 07:49

floozietoozie thats brill about ds! i to am potty training, draining isnt it!

i hear u girls about the spd, had it worse 1st preg and was sighned off frm 27 weeks.

iam now 28 wks and ment to be working untill 36 altho i now feel astho ive benn a bit ambitious! but iam already fully booked (hairdresser) now untill i leave. lucky i am only part time in salon but also have home clients to keep up with and a lively toddler!

ah my 1st mat leave was spent with choc and tea laying on the sofa for 12 weeks bliss, no such luck this time!!

we havnt agreed on names, i have put loads forward to which my dp say er na! but doesnt offer any himself! aaagghhhhh

sam12 · 19/07/2010 10:07

Hi, I am working till 38 weeks which I am also thinking is a bit ambitious but will see how it goes- and got the 6 weeks holidays in the mean time.

I think we've got our names but then I keep wanting to change them because I feel like I am bored with them already.

Me and DH got things sorted so was all and then found out that my brother in-law has acted like a completecan't think of a word strong enoughso have spent the rest of the weekend very it is made worse by the fact that we are in living at DH parents so now there is an atmosphere! Although he very wisely has kept out of my way since I found out.

I was always so pleased that I had a very calm family with no issues and now it feels all a bit Jeremy Kyle grrrrrr.

Anyway best get some work done. Hope you are all well x

shieldbug · 19/07/2010 10:26

Sorry to hear that so many of you are having a tough time with the spd. Hope you are getting lots of tlc from your dh/dps.

floozie congrats to your ds!

sam12 glad to hear things are sorted out with dh. Hope that things work out with the bil. Families, eh!

I am planning to go on mat leave a calendar month before EDD. I have to leave some time in/before September to qualify for another 4 months grant anyway. Mind you, it's tempting to go a whole lot earlier! Trouble is, when I leave, my library use is suspended so I will have to do all my reading before I go. Yikes! Then "all" I have to do is write up!

RooBear · 19/07/2010 11:47

Morning everyone, I'm planning on working until 38wks. We have our girl/boy name sorted, so it'll either be a eleanor rose or a kieron william entering the world! (I picked girl dh picked boy figured that was fair)

shieldbug · 19/07/2010 11:57

Roo great names! We have names picked out, but I'm keeping quiet about what they are for now.

AbFabT · 19/07/2010 12:26

Hermya, that seems to sum up the people involved with my dramas at work too!

BackAgain and dontstopmenowimhavingsuchagoodtime, sorry to hear you are yet another for the SPD sofa. I'd never heard of SPD before - seems to be horribly common. Hope you are doing ok (and everyone else).

Well done floozie's DS with the toilet-training!

sam, glad you and DH are sorted. Sorry to hear about the BIL though.

I noticed a couple of days ago I'd 'lost' a Facebook friend - I've just worked out it is a girl at work - she had a m/c at 12 weeks - would have been due two weeks before me - I can't think why she'd cull me though - only a few weeks ago I'd emailed asking after her, and she replied back all jovially and sweet, asking after me and the bump etc. Unless she was just having a general Facebook cull. Am a bit sad about it. :/ I should just leave it, shouldn't I?

RooBear · 19/07/2010 12:31

I would abfab I've been culled before too, not much you can do, I'll be your facebook friend if you like!

AbFabT · 19/07/2010 13:00

Aw bless you, Roo! :-)
How do I find you on Fb?

RooBear · 19/07/2010 13:05

hmmm not sure, i'll put my full name and e mail on my profile then remove it later on

shieldbug · 19/07/2010 13:07

sophie how was the race for life? I'm so impressed by you attempting it. Hope it went well and you're not too sore.

AbFabT · 19/07/2010 13:10

P.S. I'm not so precious I don't think no one should cull me on Fb, but just feel sad that it's probably because I'm due when she would have been. I can't imagine I've done anything to upset her otherwise.

AbFabT · 19/07/2010 13:12

xposts. Just looked, Roo. Can't find your name on your profile.

I'll put mine on. There are two with my name on Fb - my current photo is of me and DH, I have a green hoodie on.
