Piesey glad your thyroid is looking good. Enjoy your wedding(s).

AbFab, you look like you're pretty petite, so surely it's not surprising if your baby is also petite? (If that is the case). Sometimes the growth charts are far too generic, without taking the individual into account. Anyway, fingers crossed for you.

Nymph, glad things are looking up for you, and hurrah on getting the decorating done. We're having a bit of a break in house stuff now after having loads done from March to June, but I would really like to get some decorating out of the way before the big day, whenever that will be. Our hall, stairs and landing is just the newly-done plaster and our bedroom has had most of the wallpaper ripped off by DP and then left. I'd like it sorted before the baby comes really, as I will be seeing a lot of it!

Dilly, enjoy your holiday.

Tiredfeet, that's great news about some of the others who were on here. I have wondered from time to time what happened to a few of them.

I did venture into our attic cupboard this morning and got out some newborn bags of clothes. All I can say is, I won't be needing to buy any body suits . I reckon at a conservative estimate I must have at least 30, including some that were never worn! I also found a few clothes with tags still on in amongst the rest, and lots of little things that I absolutely loved DS in. Of course, if I end up going full-term and cooking this one for a while, then s/he may end up being too big for a lot of the stuff. That would be a turn-up. This evening, a friend also dropped over the cot she's promised us, so I have my first lot of stuff. I had a quick look at a few of the things in storage, like the moses basket, although I didn't get it out properly, and also my breastfeeding stuff. I tell you, pulling my breast pump out brought back a few, not exactly pleasant, memories of getting up every three hours at night when DS was in hospital to pump, and seeing such small returns for the effort. . I really, really hope bfing will go well this time so I never need to use the damn thing again, although I expect I will at some stage. I'm going to buy some Lansinoh in the next week or so too - be prepared!

Oh yes, I bought some Bio Oil today, as I have rather neglected moisturising my bump, unlike last time. I used something else with DS, but I must say it's lovely. Smells really nice.

RooBear · 16/07/2010 09:24

Morning all, sounds good nymph. We just have to finish tiling our kitchen then paint it and I think we've finished the house (for now!)I use Bio Oil floozie, got it in my welcome pack from Dh's aunt. Its great! Anyone else suffering from cramp on a night? I keep waking up with it in my toes and calf muscles, have to walk around for a while and am bloomin' knackered on a morning!

AbFabT · 16/07/2010 09:25

tiredfeet, thanks for letting us know a couple of the ladies we lost are doing well again. Best of luck to them. I also wonder where they all are - not just the people we know we lost, but there has been quite a drop since the first few threads and all the people on it - I think mostly they just stopped posting.

Glad all is well with you and your little one, piesey.

Cellars? Ooh, get you, nymph!

Thanks, floozie. I don't know - I have never considered myself petite - I am 5'7'', and fairly well-endowed up top pre-pregnancy which always made me feel not petite too! Maybe I look more petite in the photos compared to my DH, who is a chunky monkey?! But yes - we are all different, and just because my belly hasn't stretched so much yet, doesn't necessarily mean the baby isn't growing away nicely. I would think the ONLY way to really judge it would be a scan.

Glad you've got a good start on all your baby bits! I feel like we are getting there too!

Oh, important: if you haven't got your car seat already, I've been reading the car seat threads on here, and I am most convinced about these rear-facing ones, and keeping using a RF-carseat for our child's first few years, for as long as possible.

mamjo · 16/07/2010 09:55

Morning all!!!!!!!!flying visit I'm afraid, just needed to say - 28 down, 12 to go wooohoooo!!!!!!!

sam12 · 16/07/2010 10:07

Moan Alert!!
Sorry- but need to have a whinge! Had really lovely day yesterday which unfortunately ended in big row with DH- without going into details- he claims it is a misunderstanding which I would be willing to believe but he didn't try and sort it out or explain he just lay there ignoring me whilst I cried (and I am not normally a crier) which really wound me up and then the baby was kicking like mad so that got me even more as I knew it must have been affected.
Then I was up half the night with cramps- again! Roo it is happening to me too! And everytime i got woken I couldn't sleep again as things were running round my mind.
Spent the drive to work in tears and now feeling

Anyway just needed to get that off my chest. Hope you are all well- weekend almost here

Hermya321 · 16/07/2010 11:37

Gosh it doesn't sound like we're all having an easy time of it at the moment are we.

I'm ok, slogging through a mountain of work today. I'm also getting a bit concerned about my friend, I'm hoping thats she just avoiding me and that nothing bad has happened. Not sure how to play this one.

Abfab remember you're probably long in the torso so there'll be more room for your little one to stretch out. Did you buy the sweetpea in the end?

Nymph Glad you got the decorating done, I bet it looks lovely.

Sam oh you poor thing, I hope you feel better.

tiredfeet · 16/07/2010 12:53

oh sam poor you I think these things are bad enough normally but even harder to cope with when your pregnant. I wouldn't worry about it affecting baby though as everyone must go through all the emotions while pregnant if that makes sense? Hope you are feeling better now

I have had bad cramps at times, one that properly made me squeal. One of my pregnancy books suggests standing a little bit away from a wall, put your hands against the wall and then lean towards it. this seems to gently stretch the calf and gets rid of my cramps instantly (still have to leap out of bed to do it though!)

shieldbug · 16/07/2010 14:02

hello all. Just a quick post to say I have been reading the posts but because my parents have been visiting I haven't had time to say anything. Hade a thoroughly stressful time and have gone into uni this afternoon to do some work and destress! Got a viewing on the house Sat so fx it goes well.
Sorry to hear about all those having a tough time. nymph and sam especially thinking of you both.
Hope you all have a good weekend.

AbFabT · 16/07/2010 14:49

Oh sam. You poor thing. How were you when you got to work? Hope everyone was super nice to you. Hope your DH is extra lovely tonight too. Your baby kicking is just saying I Love You, Mummy, and letting you know s/he cares!

Hermya, you have tried with your friend. Most likely she is just busy and preoccupied. IF she is sulking, best to let her work it out of her system. IF she wants to drag it out forever and punish you, then she sounds like a friend you can do without. Me, I wouldn't chase again (you've left a few messages, yes?) - I don't indulge people who play silly buggers. So let's just hope she's just been very busy, and all is well.

Yeah, I am going to believe I am long in the torso and my baby is grand. Been wriggling well, so I do think so!

Haven't got the Sweatpeace yet, still weighing it up! We didn't get to hear how loud the motor is as when we went to BabiesRUs, it wasn't working. Maybe that's a sign not to get it!!!

Good luck with the viewing, shieldbug.

lilmissmummy · 16/07/2010 15:23

Hi all,

Not feeling great today and yesterday so just pocking my head round the door to wave and then considering going back to bed

Sorry to hear that everyone else is having a rough time at the moment - thinking of you all!

Hermya321 · 16/07/2010 17:17

Abfab You're right and I'm trying to give it her the benefit of the doubt. I'm giving it another go in a few days and then going to cut my losses. As you say if she is ignoring me, then it really isn't worth it is it. Also when I'm down your way, would you want to do a meet? I promise I'm not a random crazy stalker (although Nymph may say differently). [hides binoculars]

Lilmiss Oh you poor thing, I hope you're ok.

nymphadora · 16/07/2010 17:27

Trains own binoculars on Hermya the birds

OP posts:
AbFabT · 16/07/2010 17:43

Hermya, yeah, I do think give her the benefit of the doubt - she's busy, she is allowed to be a bit disappointed even though your reasons are perfectly valid and fair, she's allowed a little sulk - brides-to-be can get a bit crazy, I'd be giving her some leeway, but only for so long - but if she drags it on, then for me, I can't be doing with the nonsense and I'd cut my losses. But let's hope it doesn't come to that.

And yes! Hit me up! Would be lovely to meet you! I don't mind if you are a random crazy stalker as I am too! . Have you signed up to this CAT thing so you can get in touch with me? Else, we'll work out how to get in touch - I'll put my email on my profile for a limited time or something!

Hermya321 · 16/07/2010 17:56

Just been talking to DH, he said 'six months pregnant, I can't believe how fast it's gone'. I said 'Yeah I know, mad isn't it' to which he replied, 'soon he'll be here and we'll have a little life to wreck'.

Well it made me laugh.

AbFabT · 16/07/2010 17:56

Anyone fancy a Friday Five?

AbFabT · 16/07/2010 17:58

LOL @ your DH, Hermya. Let's hope we all do brilliant jobs! My husband is a rascal and I think I will have a cheeky child copying his father. But with a sweet and happy soul, so that's ok!

AbFabT · 16/07/2010 18:04
  1. What does the last text message you received say?
The eagle has finally landed (only 11 days late - typical male) @ 3.06pm, weighing an eye-watering 9lbs. Mother and son doing well; name to follow.
  1. What baby purchase are you next aiming to get?
The car seat. Pretty much found the one we want, but we have a tiny car, so actually thinking of upgrading the car (will also fit the pram in the boot easier). Still won't be a big car - we're in London and so far barely use it, but nice to have for when we do. Shouldn't actually cost us much either, as we'll trade in the current car, and I don't think the price difference is huge.
  1. Any identifying body features?
I have a thin scar on my left thigh, a bigger scar on my left upper arm, and a tiny blue 'dot' on my bottom (it's like a mole, only blue!).
  1. What is your screensaver of?
DH and me on our Cherish the Dress (wedding attire) day in the streets of London.
  1. What's for dinner tonight?
Pizza, made by me, though the base is shop-bought.
Hermya321 · 16/07/2010 18:41
  1. What does the last text message you received say? Your bill is available to view. At lesst the phone company loves me.
  1. What baby purchase are you next aiming to get? Cot bedding.
  1. Any identifying body features? Scar on inside of knee and one on the back of my hand.
  1. What is your screensaver of? Our pictures that are on the computer.
  1. What's for dinner tonight? Pizza and salad, both shop bought.
nymphadora · 16/07/2010 19:08

Hermya321 · 16/07/2010 22:05

Oh my gosh, I have too many hormones.

I've spoken to friend, everything is fine but there have been a few issues. Hopefully things will be ok, but I think it's been a bit hard for her.

AbFabT · 16/07/2010 23:08

Glad you've spoken with her, H, and all is fine. Hope the issues are resolved soon.

floozietoozie · 17/07/2010 00:13

No, no, no, Hermya, your DH has got it all wrong. It should be "and soon he'll be here to wreck two lives". .

(That is totally a joke btw!!!!).

Hermya321 · 17/07/2010 07:05

Floozie Yeah I do suspect he has it all wrong as well.

Abfab Also (cheapskate emoticon) I don't have CAT at the moment. We'll work something out though. My DH is a cheeky thing as well, actually when I looked at your pictures of you and your DH he did look the sort to bring a whoopie cushion to a party and get away with it.
