Abfab She could have just hidden your statuses, I did that with someone who was particulary annoying once. I'm still friends with them, just don't wish to see what they've been upto and who with.

I'm off to the Docs in a bit, I'm hoping they'll help me out with work and the whole SPD issue. We'll see how it goes though.

Other than that, I'm enjoying my day off and sole access to the TV.

The news keep going on about talented pigs and the competitions they could win. I feel BBC News is slipping a bit.

AbFabT · 19/07/2010 13:24

Looking for you now, Roo.

Hermya, no, because I've clicked on her profile and it gives me the option to add her as a friend.

Hope the docs help you and you are feeling good.

Talented pigs?

AbFabT · 19/07/2010 13:28

Found you, Roo!

(And I have that cardigan!)

Hermya321 · 19/07/2010 13:29

Abfab No I meant rather than cull you, I meant she could have just hidden you rather than take the more permenant option of cutting you out like that.

The talented pigs looked like ordinary pigs to me, but the news kept going on about them and what they could win. Maybe they could play cards or win at poker or something.

Watching the weather as well, we've got a hosepipe ban on at the moment. They've just issued a weather warning for the rain. You've got to laugh haven't you.

AbFabT · 19/07/2010 13:33

Oh sorry, I get you now. Yes, I see! My status updates are probably annoying/painful - mostly I do a countdown of how many weeks along I am. :-/ Hope she's ok.

Talented pigs indeed!

It's hot here today! And there are huge flying insect things buggering about all over the place. One flew in through the window and it took ages for me to shoo it back out!

RooBear · 19/07/2010 13:35

Ha I love my cardies, I'll check fb tonight, can't access it at work. Don't they have pig racing? (should know being a country girl)

AbFabT · 19/07/2010 13:39

Ok, cool. Signing out now, need to get out, get in the pool, run some errands.

Ooooooh, and in other news, I just paid the remainder of my bill for the pram we ordered at the Baby Show in May, and they said they'll deliver this THURSDAY!!! THURSDAY!!! I am mega-excited, whoop whoop!

Elsa123 · 19/07/2010 15:35

Hello everybody,

I've tried to read all the posts, but am too busy at work and will look tomorrow when I know I have more time, so please don't think I've ignored bits! For those with SPD/think they're getting it- ouch I feel for you. I 've had pretty bad sciatica for the last 3 days and am struggling to walk. I'm up north for work for the next 3 days and am not looking forward to the drive tonight as the only way I get relief is to lie with a cushion between my knees and sitting or standing for too long produces much pain on walking. I've 'come out' at work and am finally wearing maternity clothes and the response has been mostly positive!

The ball went well, thank you for all your good wishes. Considering I did not get time for a nap I lasted til 0130! and only got one unsolicited bump touch- but some very drunk people telling me their experiences which I switched off from.

My Cornish holiday was lovely and I stayed in a village with no mobile reception which put paid to me telling my boss I'd be accessible, so I got all my messages on Friday afternoon! it was great though, if wet, but that didn't matter one jot.

I have finally been allocated a midwife! unsuprisingly the midwife I complained about said she didn't want to see me again which is fine as the feeling was mutual so I'm waiting for a call from the new one who works from a different town. I also got my blood tests back in a week with a note to say i was anemic (which explains the knackeredness) so i can discuss that with the new mw- and I've arranged to get my anti-D on Friday. So its looking up.

Hope you're all well. x x x x x x x

shieldbug · 19/07/2010 15:40

Elsa good news about the mw. Hopefully you can relax on that front now. Glad to hear you enjoyed the ball. Hope the drive oop North goes ok. Try to take lots of breaks.
Can't believe that you've only just started wearing maternity clothes [jealous]!!

Hermya talented pigs? My mind is positively boggling!!

Elsa123 · 19/07/2010 15:52

Its only because the shops are currently seeling so much stuff thats baggy and I've also been up sizing.

I have heard that pigs are exceptionally clever......

Elsa123 · 19/07/2010 15:54

That would be selling- not seeling.......

Hermya321 · 19/07/2010 15:57

Elsa Great news about the midwife, hope the drive back goes well.

I've been to the Docs, I ended up seeing one of the Nurses and spoke to him who is now going to speak to the Doctor. I got a bit annoyed, he kept going on about starting my maternity leave early. My ML package is alright, but when SMP comes it means a big wage drop for us and I'd prefer to leave that one for after the babies born. Plus what would I do for the next 14 weeks. I actually like being at work, it means I have something to do and won't be crawling the walls at home.

AbFabT · 19/07/2010 22:39

Elsa, glad you had a good ball and holiday, and that our outing of you on here as a spy hasn't had repercussions for you in RL.
Very glad the m/w thing is sorted too. Hope it's plain sailing for you from now on.

Hermya, you hang out as long as you want, I too am of the opinion we'll need the cash at the end when we have a baby, rather than now (well, both would be nice! )

Do you really think you'd be climbing the walls though, with nothing to do? I am LOVING being off, haven't been bored at all.

Just want to thank ILGH again for pointing me in the direction of Tiny Love stuff, am very taken with their approach, and currently researching which of their various activity gyms we like the best. Several to choose from, all marginally different but pretty much much of a muchness.

Hermya321 · 19/07/2010 23:09

Abfab I'm very much a people person and can't stand to be away from people for too long. I've found that because I do such random days that people aren't around when I am so I do tend to go a bit stir crazy and literally talk DH's ear off when he comes home. Although it would be nice to have lovely maternity leave package where I could be paid to sit around watching DVD's. I wonder if I should become a spy aka elsa, I already have the night goggles.

nunnie · 20/07/2010 08:00

Hello one and all, hope you are all going well now we are nearing, or entering the 3rd trimester.
Off for 25 weeks check this morning, the 5 weeks between the scan and this check has felt like forever hope the next 15 weeks don't feel that long

sam12 · 20/07/2010 09:38

Roo I like your names. I know an Eleanor Rose- she is about 20 and is one of the nicest girls I've met.

Hope the drive back is ok Elsa and hope that this mw is a lot better.

Hermya I am exactly the same it drives me bonnkers when I haven't got anything to do. I think I am the only person who is fed up after the first week of the six weeks holidays.

Hope the check goes ok nunnie i should have had my 28 week one tomorrow but have had to put it off till next week.

Ivytheterrible · 20/07/2010 10:58

Hi Everyone hope you're all getting on OK.

Were the person getting the Stokke Abfab? We went to kiddicare in Peterborough last week and my husband loved it - called it the pushchair for Apple users (He is a geek!) But we are going for the micralite Toro and we need something very light and compact for zipping around our city.

We got the bloom alma cot (last one floor sample, but immaculate) for £130 (£300 in John Lewis!) and even better it included in the price a mattress and 4 bloom fitted sheets (normally £50) so a real bargain and I love it!

Went to a nct sales last weekend and it was great - got lots of bits (bouncy chair, fireguard, bibs, clothes, muslins, blanket) and only spent £30!

Getting into the shopping now but scared I won't be able to stop

piesey · 20/07/2010 11:31

Morning everyone

Had a very busy weekend at the wedding which was lovely and it didn't rain! I didn't enjoy the flights though and got myself into a complete panic this morning as baby has been very quiet for the last couple of days. So went to the hospital this morning and heard the heartbeat and felt some movement so a bit more reassured! I felt a bit silly but it's normally so active it just felt wrong.

I have to fly tomorrow to the US for SIL's wedding - 8 hour flight - I'm dreading it. I know it should be fine but I'm scared and keep bursting into tears like a meantalist. Poor DH! I am looking forward to not being in work, but in some ways wouldn't mind being here rather than having to fly.

Sorry for the moan - I should be excited and happy to be going but I'm all stressed out about it.

xx

AbFabT · 20/07/2010 11:45

I'm totally a love-my-own-space person - can go for days without seeing someone and be perfectly happy about it! That was pre-DH though, and if he were to go away for more than a day, I'd miss him so so much.

Yes, Ivy, well-remembered - we've gone for the Stokke. Totally know what your DH means! Though my DH is a technical type too, and isn't AS enamoured with the Stokke as I am - he just wants something that can speed and take corners and kerbs!

Well done on your cot bargain! I do love a bargain!

Had a fail at the NCT sale we went to though - no bargains for us at all - everything was tatty or wayyy overpriced, so didn't buy a single thing.

AbFabT · 20/07/2010 11:49

Moan away, piesey - we're all here to listen, and I know I can certainly empathise. My baby's been quiet the last few days too, not sure if it is just because I am paranoid since the m/w said my stomach was measuring small, so I went to my GP today who listened to the heartbeat and all was well. She said you should experience 10 or more baby movements a day - if less, only then should you go get checked out. And she said it didn't matter if they were only small light movements.
And she said not to worry about my small bump as I am tall and stretched, so phew, feeling a bit more relaxed now!

And I don't envy you the flight at all. Hope you manage to get comfortable, and the flight staff really look after you.
x

shieldbug · 20/07/2010 12:00

AbFab Glad the small bump isn't a problem and your baby is ok.

piesey I would be the same if sproglet didn't move much for a while- it's like all children, if they go quiet, you get suspicious! So glad all is fine. Hope the flight is ok. Can you take some sort of cushion to give you more comfort? As Abfab says, hope they look after you well and it's not as bad as you are fearing.

Good luck for the check nunnie.

RooBear · 20/07/2010 12:20

wow just seen a apr 2011 thread, our lo's will be 6 months by then!

Ivytheterrible · 20/07/2010 12:41

My LO's movement is really sporadic as well... sometimes I don't feel anything all day then as soon as I sit/lie down on sofa and generally relax it starts moving loads. If you are generally quite busy in everyday life I think it can be hard to feel much during the day. Midwife tomorrow so it will be good to hear the heartbeat and get reassurance all is well.

My bump also small... no-one has randomly asked if I'm pregnant yet and still getting surprised looks when I say I'm 28 weeks gone! I think being tall-ish (5'8) plus first baby plus strong stomach muscles from all the sport I play helps.

Sorry about the nct fail AbFab I guess it just is the luck on the day!

RooBear · 20/07/2010 12:56

I'm the other way ivy flump won't stop moving! Considering I felt nothing for 21 wks I think he'she is making up for it

sam12 · 20/07/2010 15:21

I have lots of movement sometimes and then hardly any at others- but every single time it is hardly moving I get worried. I also wish that people would stop commenting on the size of my bump- some tell me its huge and then a few have said it is tiny for 28 weeks and then I get all worried again It is all very worrying this being pregnant- and then when they are here we'll worry about them even when they are adults. But am sure it will all be worth it
