Wow 3rd trimester. It's getting real now!! I am sooooo excited!!!!!!!!!! I'm 27 weeks tomorrow and was just Reading about a 2 year old that was born at 23 weeks. He is now totally healthy and bigger than his friends at nursery, amazing!!

nymphadora · 08/07/2010 21:30

Hi mamjo ,thought I was here all alone! Switched back to my phone now. Am shattered but not worth trying to go to sleep until dh comes in.

Oh my gosh, third trimester!! Did anyone else think 'nah I'll never be THAT pregnant'.

Thanks Nymph for the new thread.

nymphadora · 08/07/2010 22:10

You're all up late! I'm usually asleep by now but dh still not home from work

lilmissmummy · 08/07/2010 22:28

Hi, oooh new thread it is very nice cant believe how quickly the threads (and the time is going) Thanks Nymph

AbFab great news about getting signed off again, I really think that is what is best for you and baby!

dh is watching some crime thriller but it seriously dull so I thought I would come and see what you guys are up to! I had a little nap earlier and then picked the children up from school. It was report day and they both have done really well, so being proud parents we took them to see Shrek in 3D (which was actually quite good)

For all those who are worrying about motherhood, I am seriously forgetful and clumsy and my 2 have got to 9 and 5 without too much problems. I havent left them anywhere yet!! You are going to be absolutely fine.

Hermya what I find more scary is the fact that at Christmas we will have 2/3 month old babies!!!! Very exciting though!

tiredfeet · 08/07/2010 22:47

wow so impressed we're on a new thread. Very proud of your work ethic nymph

I'm another one who is amazed that the third trimester is pretty much here, after so long trying its finally starting to sink in that I might really have a baby. All teary now thinking about it

I've been in a meeting all evening, baby decided to have a little party and was kicking like mad. It was pretty distracting!

Tyson86 · 08/07/2010 22:58

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 09/07/2010 08:34

Hi everyone!! On very limited Internet ( and time, lots of friends and family to see!!)

Moonstorm - i'm in Norway, where are your connections? Dilly, I noticed you had Scandinavian names suggested, are you a fellow Nordic intergrater?!

I still have zero energy- nearly passed out yesterday, very frustratiing given how good I have felt up to now!

Anyone else not sleeping well?

Abfab- sounds like it's getting sorted for you, what a relief not to deal with it daily

Little oldme, welcome to the thread!

Elsa123 · 09/07/2010 09:08

Morning all! Seashells

  • yes i'm not sleeping too well either. everytime I turn over it feels like moving a ship and I'm not even that big- so it wakes me up every time and last night I ended up having to go to the loo twice and the hot nights don't help.

I have a ball to go to tonight, so I'm hoping to get off work early doors so i can have a 'combat kip' so I'm not dead on my feet later! I haven't tried on my dress yet- It is not maternity, but is empire line with pleats and I lent it to someone once who was 8 months pg and she looked good in it, so hopefully it will look nice. She was smaller of bust than me and able to go braless. I will not be able to and do not have a suitable bra for the v neck line, so i have some stick on things, that I've used pre-preg, so I don't know if they'll fit. We shall see....

Ivytheterrible · 09/07/2010 09:32

Blimey 3 months to go for me next Tuesday.

Hmmmmmm this is actually going to happen isn't it?!

Also not sleeping very well - mainly due to the freaky and disturbing dreams I keep having that wake me up!

DillyDora · 09/07/2010 09:47

Hi Seashells no, my DH is German though so we needed names that could cross over.

I am sleeping ok but I do feel like I'm moving a ship too, I think our tummy muscles are no longer available to us!

Dress sounds lovely Elsa for your glamorous spy ball...

My mat clothes from JoJo Maman Bebe arrived yesterday, I was so relieved I could have cried. Today I'm at work in a lovely mat dress in which I can breeeeeeathe!

dontstopmenow · 09/07/2010 09:51

Morning all, lovely a new thread - was getting lost with the old one being so long.

Oh my word i am tired! Decided to finish work in 2 weeks time - 12 hour shifts on your feet are not good for the swollen ankles! Very excited now but feel that I may get a little bored, I have a DS (3) to entertain though.

I have a summer ball to go to in a couple of weeks and have nothing to wear yet. Argh!! Should be looking for one now I think!

Glad you can breathe now Dilly - always good!!

tiredfeet · 09/07/2010 10:14

ooh seashells I'm so jealous, I love Norway, its so beautiful, one of my favourite places. Shame about the lack of energy but hopefully you are still able to enjoy being out there

tyson I know quite a few people who had building work done while pregnant/ with a newborn so I'm sure the midwife's seen it all before! Hope the appointment goes well.

oh gosh ivy you've made me realise its 3 months tomorrow for me

dontstopmenow not surprised you've decided to finish soon, 12 hour shifts sound hard work! I'm not finishing till early September but I'm using up lots of holiday so only 4 full days at work left for me, and then I will just be doing one day a week when I work 3 hours (mainly to keep up with all the gossip ). Luckily (?!) DH is so busy that there is plenty for me to help him with (like his accounts argh) so I don't think I will have time to get bored. I am sure you won't be bored either with a 3 year old to keep you occupied.

elsa I hope the dress works when you try it on. enjoy the ball!

Hermya321 · 09/07/2010 10:16

Seashells Nope am the same, I toss and turn most nights.

Dontstop My word, twelve hour shifts. I'm not surprised you've decided to stop.

Morning all!!!

lilmissmummy · 09/07/2010 11:06

Me too I am having problems sleeping, keep waking up with a dead leg (the leg I am lying on) also I didnt know it was possible to wee so much in the night! It kills you during the day too, so weary! I am so impressed with you all that are working especially dontstop with 12 hour shifts! I dont think I could manage it now!

Dreading today - estimated forecast here of 27 degrees (I was hot to start with!)

Hermya321 · 09/07/2010 11:37

I have a wonky bump and on my left hand side theres a little round bit that is either LO's head or bum. Given who his Dad is, I'm inclined to go with bum which means I'm being mooned by my own son.

mamjo · 09/07/2010 11:56

Lol hermya it amazes me that my bump changes shape throughout the day too.

I have slept ok for the last 2 days which is surprising considering the pain I am in during the day. I have only needed 2-3 wee breaks in the night aswell which is better than last week when it was 6-7.

Not sure how I am gonna make it through this 31 degree heat we are being promised for the weekend.

piesey · 09/07/2010 12:03

Ah ha there you all are! Thanks for setting this new thread up.

Don't have much to say today except hope you are all ok. I'm feeling a bit down for some reason - not really sure why. I'm quite tired although I've been sleeping ok, so maybe that's why. Just having one of those days I think! Hopefully I'll be back to normal tomorrow.

floozietoozie · 09/07/2010 13:25

Hello peeps.

I'm 24 weeks today so 'viable'. Four weeks to the third trimester for me - can there be 1000 messages in that time? Probably!

Abfab, that's great about being off. Just the best all round.

Hermya, I hope you enjoy yourself at the wedding now. You're just ahead of the game with forgetting keys etc because that happens anyway once you have kids so it won't be a shock for you . Seriously, as someone else said the fact you are worrying about being a good mother shows you will be. It's one day at a time and you learn as you go. No-one has a clue in the beginning. I'm learning how to be the mother of a three and a half year old, and that will always be true whatever age ds is.

Lilmiss, well done to your dc for good reports.

I had a nasty shock the other day. After some asshole undertook me on a dual carriageway just as the roads were merging, nearly forcing me into the oncoming traffic the other way, I got so mad (ds was in the car) that when we came to the next intersection where there are two lanes again we were actually next to each other and I wound down my window and shouted at him saying I had a child in the car. I don't normally do things like that I should point out. Anyway I was stopped but it was on a slope and either I took my foot off the break or I actually engaged the car but I bumped the person in front who must have been much closer than I realised. She was very good about it thank god but there was a mark on her car so we've swapped insurance etc. Totally my fault, but it wouldnt have happened if that man hadn't driven so dangerously. I've only had one incident in 22 years of driving and that was when my brakes locked again at a junction, not speeding or anything. I was so worried about the baby, rang the hosp and got advice, didn't go back to work that eve and obsessively felt for movement all the time. I went to the mw the next day who was lovely and I heard the little heartbeat pounding away then felt much better, even tho I had felt movement. So there we go - no claims bonus gone probably and alesson to turn the other cheek - but if I could get my hands on that guy I'd still strangle him!!

moonstorm · 09/07/2010 14:27

Floozi that's awful, I hope you are feeling better now. I hate drivers like that as well - don't really care what they do, but when they start putting others in danger it really changes things.

Seashells My dh is from Bergen! We are bring ds up bilingually are you doing the same? And is anyone else? Gutted that we can't visit this summer - I turn 28 weeks at the start of the holiday and can't get a fit to fly letter due to ds arriving early (probably for the best really, but can't help but wish I could have gone).

I amstruggling to sleep as well. I have been happier withthe cooler weather, but it can't last for ever than we'll have the heat to contend with as well. I lie on my side, but keep waking up not being able to breathe as my lungs are squished. I've tried a pillow, but it won't wtay in place!

My bump is pretty much the same all of the time (massive!!) but the kicks are all low down and to the sides, so assume s/he is breech - am willing them to turn!

I was a but fed up yesterday (read teary) they have discovered Strep B again which means I will definitely need the anti b's in labour again. It's just another intervention which seems to be making my VBAC harder - I have to go to hospital as soon as my waters break, and there will be more of a limit between them breaking and them wanting to get the baby out to prevent infection. And seeing as they won't induce me after a cs of my waters break like last time and nothing happens again, it'll be another cs . Plus I have that worry about the StrepB causing premauture labour/ stillbirth hanging over me again (rare, but try telling a pregnant woman not to worry!). I wish I didn't know!!

Take care all! x

nymphadora · 09/07/2010 16:02

After all that last night I couldn't get this to load at work!

AbFabT · 09/07/2010 19:24

Have fun at your spies' ball, Elsa!

Sorry to hear people are struggling to sleep. Don't suppose the heat will help! But wishing you some sweet sleep soon!

floozie, sorry to hear about the mean driver, and your little bump (car bump) - glad you and baby bump are ok though.

Thanks everyone for all your well wishes re work. Still dealing with a few things as am discussing with my rep whether I have a decent case, and enough hard evidence, for making a formal grievance, or even if I can be bothered to. But enough about that - the most important thing is my stress is lifted, and I feel light and well.

Right, so remember I had the NCT/cat drama? Well, pesky cat WALKED INTO MY HOUSE this afternoon! Climbed in through my bedroom window, I am sat in the lounge (which is upstairs, next to the bedroom) and see this furry shape emerging from my bedroom. Gave me such a fright. Bold as brass, just started walking towards me. I got up and it ran back into the bedroom and out of the window. I can't believe the nerve. Wasn't enough of a presence to set off any allergies, so that's something, but sheesh, cheeky cat!
