lilmissmummy · 23/07/2010 13:57

Oooh I like the Quinny Buzz Hermya we do loads of cross country walking so I felt we needed something a bit bigger and heavier.

How lovely to have a nursery decorated! We are going to have baby in with us until she is 2 ish and then she will either share with dd or we will move. I wouldnt be able to resist opening the pushchair abfab you have great control!

Tyson the Graco Vivo is really nice, my best friend has bought the Graco Quattro which I think is very similar.

Elsa so how was your new midwife? did you meet her today? glad your injection went well!

Went to the midwife today and she said that my blood tests and blood pressure was really low so she has prescribed me iron tablets and I have to take 2 a day!!!

Would love to have a 4d scan but dh lost his job this morning (made redundant) so it is not looking very positive

Hermya321 · 23/07/2010 14:41

oh my gosh lilmiss I'm so sorry.

AbFabT · 23/07/2010 16:41

Thanks, Tyson.

Hope you don't make a mess on your new carpet during your home birth!

Stupid bank charges - hope they resolve it soon and you can get your scan. Really sorry to hear your DH lost his job today, lilmiss, that's such rubbish timing. Hope he lands on his feet soon - often it can work out for the better.

We're also having our baby with us, so no nursery - sometimes I question this, as I'd love to do a nursery up, but I don't think the baby will know the difference for a while, and we'd rather have the baby in with us.
Hope the iron tablets fix your blood levels etc soon, and you're feeling perkier.

lilmiss, is your best friend due around the same time as you?

ILoveGregoryHouse · 23/07/2010 18:32

Lilmiss, so sorry. Rotten timing.

Tyson don't forget your plastic sheeting/old shower curtain to protect that new carpet.

I've been planning how to rearrange the bedrooms here for our home visit next year after DD is born. On impulse, I checked ebay for Flexa system bunk beds and someone was selling some in the next village and the auction was finishing in three hours. And I won them for a bargain price! Yay! Now DS1 and 2 will be sharing like they do in Bahrain and DS3 will get DS2's old room and DD will get the baby room which was done in a unisex style anyway - bright yellow with red and lime green and white kidsmill furniture. Am v happy!

Getting our new car tomorrow. Citroen Grand Picasso. I worked out buying one with my parents was a lot cheaper than renting one for two months. Would you credit it?!

Best go, fish and chips for tea.

Waves to everyone.

AbFabT · 23/07/2010 19:01

Sounds like a good result all round, ILGH.

Tyson86 · 23/07/2010 19:56

Thanks, i bought 2 blue shower curtains from ikea and plan to get 2 more.

ILGH very jealous of your new car, i love picasso's, im stuck with my Rove 45 for another 2 years.

Lilmiss sorry about your dh being made redundant. Hope your Iron levels get better.

We are having baby in with us, did with ds and he slept from 1 week old all through the night so worth another try with Sophie.

Elsa123 · 23/07/2010 20:14

Lilmiss- I'm so sorry to hear your DH lost his job- what did he do? Hopefully he'll find something more suitable soon. The best advice I was ever given was always keep a job, any job going while you look for the more suitable one so your CV looks proactive.

I'm meeting my new midwife on Tuesday, she's coming to my home. I had the anti-D today from the practice nurse who is soo lovely, I wish she was a midwife! I too will be talking to the midwife about iron as my tests have come back with me being anemic. If I get iron tablets, it'll be time to up the fibre even more...I'd love to have no piles, but know that even a high fibre diet is no guarantee of escaping them.

Good plan with the shower curtains Tyson!

Its the weekend! So pleased!

Hermya321 · 23/07/2010 21:18

I'd love to be able to do up a nursery, but we haven't got the room. So we'll be doing a nursery come spare room come junk room come whatever the hell else room. We've decided to get some pictures and bunting (is that too pretentious?) to have above the cot.

I had the oddest day at work, I swear it just so so strange. Not really anything in particular, just some of the stuff I had to deal with was a bit off of the wall. Oh well, could be worse.

Anyone seen Nymph?

lilmissmummy · 23/07/2010 21:19

Thanks everyone - we are trying to stay positive about the situation. He is an IT consultant by trade and was working as a commercial manager. So he has lots of options so fingers crossed he will find something fairly quickly. He can always do contracting until something else comes up! Thank you sooooo much for your support. Feeling a bit delicate!

On a positive note I have been prescribed 2 iron tablets a day so hopefully I will feel better over the weekend! Elsa at least we can have piles together!

ILGH also jealous of your new car - my car is a really girly blue and it is not really me!

Great idea about the shower curtains Tyson

My best friend is expecting a little boy in September and my neighbour is expecting a little boy in December so my little girl is going to be spoilt for choice... if her Daddy ever lets her out of the house

Has anyone else got friends expecting around the same time?

lilmissmummy · 23/07/2010 21:22

Hermya I love the idea of bunting!! Very twee but I reckon babies should be twee.

I think I saw Nymph in a twitter conversation yesterday I am just going to go back and check!

Hermya321 · 23/07/2010 21:25

It's ok lilmiss I've just seen her hanging around the Pregnancy section and she seems to be ok.

lilmissmummy · 23/07/2010 21:25

Yep she was there! Hope she is okay.

Hermya321 · 23/07/2010 21:28

Oh Lilmiss I feel that I can be twee in this one instant, I'm glad that your DH seems to have options open to him. My friends DH went freelance a while back and seems to be doing ok, he does something to do with machines and sauces. Everyone that I know thats pregnant is having their baby before me.

lilmissmummy · 23/07/2010 21:48

It is quite nice to have people in RL having babies too though! Someone else to whine to

Have you chosen the bunting? My DD wants the Princess bunting in Laura Ashley! Expensive tastes that one!

AbFabT · 23/07/2010 22:14

Hermya, I like bunting! I have some in the kitchen! Not that my kitchen is any gold standard for taste (but I love it!).

Good luck to your DH, lilmiss.

I have lots of friends pregnant and expecting this year, or who have just had babies - 2010 has certainly been a boom year for my friends! None that live especially close to me though.

nymphadora · 24/07/2010 07:23

Hi, I'm here, just lurking, not a lot to say atm. Feeling better about our problem short term but still waiting on details. Once it's clearer and at least can talk about it we can make plans.

On the good side my house sale should be finished next week so bye bye to our loans & some morgage.

Pregnancy wise I've been having trouble with my hips, got physio referral and probably going for a support belt at some point. They keep locking up & lots of pain. Not SPD though as it's the sides not the middle.

Been awake most of night as baby v low and dancing all night = toilet trips!

nymphadora · 24/07/2010 07:26

Oh hermya eg of difficulty in moving. My office to thorntons = 45 mins! My grandad is v lucky he got his present as I'm not doing that walk again!!!

OP posts:
Hermya321 · 24/07/2010 08:35

Oh my gosh Nymph you poor thing!! I hope things get better for you soon and that your hips start co-operating with you.

I swear if I'd known pregnancy was this much trouble.....well actually I still would have done it. But I would have put aside more money for chocolate and pretty things.

Well I hope you're all well this morning and enjoying what looks like some nice weather.

Elsa123 · 24/07/2010 08:41

Morning! Hello Nymph, long time no see! Sorry to hear about your hips and the nighttime kicking. My baby has changed routines from being quiet most of the night and waking around 10 and kicking about all day until about 11 at night.

nymphadora · 24/07/2010 10:32

Baby still awake. Objecting to trousers now

BackAgain · 24/07/2010 11:06

Just got back from a few days away so haven't had chance to catch up yet. For those that were impressed with my will power just wanted to let you know we opened the envelope yesterday and we are having a boy. Let's just hope I can keep it a secret from family and friends for the next 13 weeks!

Elsa123 · 24/07/2010 12:08

Congratulations Backagain! I wouldn't have been able to wait either - so I'm going with the I have no idea option!

I have just bought my first 2 bits of baby stuff! A walnut Cosatto cotbed and matching dresser from Kiddisave. Hopefully they'll be nice when they arrive.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 24/07/2010 16:22

Elsa, DS3 has the Cosatto Hogarth in Walnut in his Bahrain room. It's really nice.

Congrats on expecting a son Backagain.

Just been to Sainsburys (UK supermarkets are wonderful, honest) and do you know what really annoys me? When you've pushed your trolley to the end to pack your bags in and then the nob behind you pushes their trolley infront of the pin pad. Aaaarrrgghhhh.

Off to have my daily treat - coffee with evaporated milk (I found a non-nestle brand, yay!). Well, I say treat but I've also had an ice lolly and will be having a chocolate eclair with the coffee. I've put on 2 stone. How's everyone else's weight gain?

Hermya321 · 24/07/2010 19:22

Congratulations Backagain thats fabulous news!!

Elsa That sounds lovely.

ILGH I've not really put on that much tbh, but I'm trying to stay away from the scales.

Elsa123 · 24/07/2010 19:25

Hi ILGH, thanks for telling me you have that one, I'm really pleased it works for you, very reassuring!

Your treat(s) sound lovely . I weighed myself yesterday and I've put on 5 kg so far, most of which has gone on since 20 weeks. I've found it so much more reassuring to say it in Kg! I do think I'd weigh more, my my cornish holiday involved so much walking, I steadied out for a couple of weeks.

Sooo tired! Looking forward to my dinner which is cooking, pasta with veg and hot smoked salmon...yum. Really want an eclair now you've mentioned it though and coffee with evaporated milk sounds really nice...
