CurlyCasperBaggedABairn · 06/07/2010 07:51

Hurray for baby carrots! Love to mum, dad and the little ones. What a good weight for 38 weeks gest. Well done all round.

Right, iggy, no pressure... ;)

SilverSky · 06/07/2010 08:02

Preggo's - any of you had thrush whilst pregnant?

I think I may have it. Not sure. Feels hot and itchy. No discharge.

Called MW. Left msg on ansapahone.

Have read on MN that it's not dangerous to the baybee but then I read that it could be Strep b.

Any tips or advice? Hopefully MW will call back today. Bet she doesn't cos I have never ever managed to spk to the MW on the mobile. What's the effing point of having one!!!??

Muser · 06/07/2010 08:15

It is a good weight, isn't it? No wonder he didn't want to hang around!

I told my mum, dad and siblings the news last night. Much excitement and a little caution. It all feels a bit real now.

I have a question about work stuff. When did you all tell work your news? I know legally when you have to tell them, but it seems very late on and surely everyone would have guessed by then? Do you just base it on "can I still plausibly hide it in baggy clothes?"

iggypiggy · 06/07/2010 08:27

Congratulations rots !!!

muse told work after I had the 12 week scan... didn't want to say anything until I was sure it was ok, but wanted to give them time to sort cover.

silver I haven't had it, but suggest going to doc early cos you don't want it getting any worse..

CurlyCasperBaggedABairn · 06/07/2010 08:36

silver i had several bouts of thrush while PG, but was prone to it anyway. They'll give you canesten without blinking and it does work without any ill effects on baby. Other suggestions include apple cider vinegar in your bath, garlic clove up your foof overnight, natural yoghurt etc. But the pessary andcream work best. Glad you are acting now just in case. If you do get cream, use some on your OH so he does not reinfect you during sexy times! I am off to docs today as i suspect nipple thrush - not fun.

muser it's all real now then! Bloody chuffed to bits for ya

CurlyCasperBaggedABairn · 06/07/2010 08:38

muse, i told close colleagues and my line manager weeks before making it official with HR. It meant the people who mattered could think ahead. Also meant they understood the mood swings!

Muser · 06/07/2010 08:43

I was thinking 12 week scan, but doing the official stuff later. I do project based work and want to be able to let people know if I'm not going to be around for the end of a project. Just wondered if 12 weeks was crazy early.

iggypiggy · 06/07/2010 08:44

casp I have no pressure I still got two weeks to go... Probably more to make up for you early bird queue jumpers

Cosmosis · 06/07/2010 08:49

congrats rots

I told work after 12wk scan, no way could I hold it in any longer!!!

PollyPoo · 06/07/2010 08:58

Yay for BabyCarrots!! Looking forward to hearing more later. And thanks to YOB for the update.

Cosmosis · 06/07/2010 09:12

well I reached a new low in insomnia last night. Went to bed at 10.45, took quite a while to get to sleep, woke up at 2.30. Nice.

Still, I did get to see a hedgehog. Twice.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 06/07/2010 09:27

Baby Carrots! Hooray! Can't wait to hear the lavendar-field details, many congratulations to ROts, YOB and LC xx

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 06/07/2010 09:33

Muse - fab news re your scan. I told my boss after my first scan (7 weeks) because I knew she would be fine about it and she was more concerned that I would be feeling sick and needing time etc. If I'd had a different relationship with my boss I'd probably have waited until the 12 week+ point.

Medee woooooohooooooooooo! Well done you!

Cos insomnia is so horrid. Could it be at all related to the heat? - cos I slept with a damp muslin on my tummy over the weekend and that really helped (I use muslins to remove make-up remover, can recommend! Sure Clint won't mind if some of his cloths are stained with mascara smears.....) Have you tried deep breathing etc? Though having said that, sometimes nothing helps, it's just "busy brain syndrome". Hope it gets better soon for you, can be very draining.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 06/07/2010 09:35

Ski is back! (can you tell I am reading thread backwards?) Welcome back, glad all is lovely with Baby 'Bert. How's the tummy?

laurielou · 06/07/2010 09:53

ski welcome home & CONGRATULATIONS!! Loved your comment re stupid big head baby in bed next to you - I heart you. Sorry it was all a bit manic there, but end result is fab - you sound ever so slightly smitten

rots CONGRATULATIONS to you too!

All the best people are born in July!!!!

Tis all go over here - I'm exhausted reading the daily posts

TwinkleToes76 · 06/07/2010 09:58

Cosmosis · 06/07/2010 10:20

huuuuuuge nekkid dance to gin!!!!!!

VAG it's sometimes the heat, but not last night as it wasn't that warm. we've been sleeping with just a sheet anyway. Insomnia just seems to be my one and only preggo symptom.

SilverSky · 06/07/2010 10:45

I told work at 14 wks. Tho was tempted to tell them as late as poss, I wanted to wAit til 20 wks! cos I was in a new job!
