Wayhey for "rots" and baby rots. That really is excellent news. I do hope you got the birth you wanted despite been in hospital and that it was as natural as your and baby?s health allowed. Also, good work on getting YOB to post for you - there is no way I would let MrC!

I told my boss at 12 weeks and regretted it due to finding out after I had told him I was going to have to have a CVS. However it was all fine so told my team at 14 weeks - I could not hide it anymore. However, first time around I was at 16/17 weeks as I wanted to wait as long as I could as I knew that I would be treated differently as soon as people knew (i.e. not being involved in key things etc).

Cosmo I have turned into a vvv light sleeper. We often sleep in different beds as I need total silence to get to sleep.

I hate that f'ing dreamgenni thing. It is more of a hindrance than a help. I flung it out of bed last night, knocked over a glass of water which smashed on the (wood) bedroom floor. Had to get up and clear it up in case I forgot about it this morning. I am going to order a normal V shaped one. I have tried for 8 weeks and I still hate it.

Nice one gin. Have not read the fred update but I assume you have had a positive scan today!

FannyPriceless · 06/07/2010 12:45

Gin I am jiggling all my nekkid bits for you.

rots Thrilled for you, Lavender Girl!

musey I left it as long as possible to avoid being pushed aside. I told my line manager before the legal date but asked him not to make it general knowledge (but then I am a grumpy anti-social non-girly bitch at work). We didn't even tell family until after the 12 week scan just to be safe.

I told my boss at around 7 weeks I think because my ms was so vile I was barely functioning and I didn't want her to think I was a lazy, piss-taking twat. I have flexible hours anyway but she was very much "just come in when you can/want".

cossie I hear you about the insomnia. But it's all good practice, for the entire family. It'll mean that jailbait is used to me getting up in the middle of the night and pottering off for an hour or so.

I had a bit of a "funny turn" this morning at the town hall when we went for a birth certificate. I have "father unknown" on certificate as we were unable to prove we're not married to other people. I also politely suggested she do one if she thinks I'm spending a 6 hour round trip to Amsterdam a few days after laying a prem baby by c-section when I'm still on medication for pre-eclampsia. Felt blood pressure rise and got a nose bleed. Stupid bitch then said that we were "late" registering him because he was born thursday and you only get 3 working days. Jailbait asked if he should've worn his superman outfit being as 'Bert was born at 19:59pm and the town hall closed at 20:00...

I am so thrilled for rots & YOB! That's an AMAZING sized baybee!

laurie I didn't actually say that of course... I was able to take the moral high ground in a variety of other ways, e.g., she had c-section, made no attempt to bf. Got the nurses to give ALL his feeds - when he cried in the night she got them to take him away and she just fucked around tweezing her sodding eyebrows 68 times a day. She had about 30 visitors - however mine were more fun. We had a hysterical discussion about the things kids say, e.g., 4 years old = "I HATE you!", 9 years old = "I wish I were dead!".

gin Sorry, I've not read your news yet but I@m guessing it's very, very, very good news!

Cosmosis · 06/07/2010 13:00

re father unknown ski. Poor Jailbait. can you get it amended in future when you do have a chance to prove you're unmarried to others?

Backinthebox · 06/07/2010 13:48

Ski that's crap! I thought the Dutch were supposed to be a bit more enlightened than the rest of Europe or something? Anyway - I bet you are glad to be home.

Yay for Rots and babycarrot! Yet another early one - all so kind to their mothers already . Hope all is well now though, and it all went as well as it could, given the circumstances.

Yay for Gin too - I don't know you, but I get the impression you were due some luck.

My update today - I has had fabulous first preggo reflexology treatment. Bliss! She took down a brief medical history (turns out hossie that butchered me last time had a good go at slicing and dicing her too, so she knows where I'm coming from.) Then she did lovely things with my feet. She was able to identify a recent problem with my left leg, saying she had an impression of 'clickiness' - I was badly kicked in the knee by a horse 11 months ago and it is still a bit sore (which should make any kind of hands-and-knees positions fun .) She also said my neck was a bit stiff (true) and my right shoulder (true.) She asked if I was suffering any hay fever as the sinus points felt blocked - I have pregnancy-related congestion atm, and she also said all of my hormone channels were on overdrive but she was not going to touch them till I was officially term as it can start things I really don't want starting just yet. She'll have a good go at them though from a week before my due date . Then she said something that made me thing 'oh, no!' She lightly mentioned that my hips and pelvis seemed a bit taut, especially for my stage of pregnancy, but that was probably my horse riding. I said I was aware that horsey women have tighter pelvic muscles and can have difficulties getting babies out, and she said she was glad I was aware of that as she hadn't wanted to worry me! Great - I have a super-crotch, made from rings of steel, it seems!

Anyway, she has booked me in for peri-natal treatments around my due date so she can prime my hormone channels, teach OH pain relief pressure points specific to labour, and go through a birth kit of aromatherapy oils (as she does that, too.) In the run up to the main event she will also try a little something to make sure the baby gets itself sorted into the right position before it gets jammed like DD did. Overall, I feel rather nice now, and looking forward to lots more foot rubbing to come .

In the meantime, because I left her to her own devices for over an hour, DD tipped a bag of floor out on the kitchen floor and made footprints with it, left the loo tap running with the plug in, and pooed under the table.

laurielou · 06/07/2010 13:49

ski that's shocking re the "father unknown" shenanigans. Really hope you can get it changed. I know you didn't actually say it out loud, saying it in your head is funny enough for me.....

laurielou · 06/07/2010 13:51

flour footprints....

PollyPoo · 06/07/2010 14:29

Ski that is awful about the birth certificate - I hope you can get it changed. Are you feeling ok now? Not what you need atm....

Boxy the reflexology sounds lufferly. . Not so nice to find the mess in the kitchen tho... and the poo under the table? Nice! Boo was once running around the house in a t-shirt and whilst I was busy cleaning catching up on MN she stood right next to me and poo'd on the floor (carpet... gah). It was only when I was on hands and knees cleaning up that I noticed she had also poo'd in her discarded shoe.

SilverSky · 06/07/2010 14:38

Those poo stories are making me chuckle.

Quacks have done me a script. However I am not itchy or sore down there all the time. Should I still treat it as thrush or make an akshall appt?

CurlyCasperBaggedABairn · 06/07/2010 14:46

Please treat it silv so it doesn't get a chance to get worse. You can always go back to docs if it doesn't work and you want checked. Could involve a speculum though...

ski what fuckers! Hope you can get it sorted. Thank goodness we get six weeks to register. we are doing it tomorrow morning.

rollerbaby · 06/07/2010 15:17

Oh my god. You are all totally brilliant people. Really chuffed for rots and can't wait to hear how you got on.

Skipants have just had a little wee laughing at your first post. Wot are you like? Well done m'darling you sound very happy and on top of life.

Medee huge big nekkid booby dancin for you. Fab news to top off a v. eventful week on here...

Gin fab fab news (not 100% sure what it is yet, need to go and look) but hope you are celebrating and happy whereever you are.

Muse hope you are enjoying being preggo... If I were you I'd see how you feel and if MS strikes. I had to tell people early on about 8-9 weeks because I felt so awful and had the odd day where needed to stay home or cou;dn't shlep hours for meetings. I found it helpful to have the suport of my boss, but I know not the same for everyone. If it's going to cause you more stress to keep a secret when you feel like hell, prob not worth it!

Okie I also hate my dream geni - gave it to the mutt. Gets in the fucking way, can't turn over and generally quite annoying. Depsite fat tum tum I can still sleep on frotn at 45 degree angle.

silver yep seem to have low level ongoing thrushy thing, but towards the back if you know what I mean. Really fucking itchy.

OkieCokie · 06/07/2010 16:01

Moo have you got an alternative pillow. I am thinking of this. Any opinions?

rollerbaby · 06/07/2010 16:58

Oooh what a good site! I like the U shaped one which basically envelopes you and means your OH has to sleep elsewhere. I have been managing ok with my 2 normal square pillows (I normally sleep with one) but we will see how I fare as time goes on. Our new 180 x 200 bed arrives on Thursday - joy. So will be "investing" in brand new bedding etc so I suspect a spot of pillow shopping may be required.

Mr Moo travelling tonight so dog joining me for overnight cuddles. I will be in troucble if mr moo reads this.

SilverSky · 06/07/2010 18:12

okie what about, on same site, the cozy cuddler pillow? I can't paste links as on phone. Looks pretty good esp if like me your back is givin you jip.

Husband was tasked with collecting script but forgot. Div. I will get it and use it as prevention better than cure in case it gets worse. I have suffered from cystitis a lot in the pass and hope it's not the start of that as aren't uti's dangerous ? Not that I am trying to scare the shit out of myself or anything.

iggs saw your bumper bump on fb. That is some achievement really it is! Mega. The rest of you is so tiny. Is baybee really already estimated to be a fourteen pounder ????

OkieCokie · 06/07/2010 21:29

I have my 20 week scan tomorrow (at 22+4). Fingers crossed all is ok.

PollyPoo · 06/07/2010 21:30

Good luck Okie! How exciting.

rollerbaby · 06/07/2010 21:46

Good luck okie hope you have a lovely scan.

CurlyCasperBaggedABairn · 06/07/2010 21:53

good luck okie!Sure all will be well Bring us back a nice pic, will ya?

CluckyKate · 06/07/2010 22:03

Hello everyone [wavey]
Not sure whether I should be on this thread or t'other one (am bang on 10 weeks) but since Boxy kindly introduced me here I am
Taken me all evening to read through this thread - what a brilliant bunch you all are....really looking forward to getting to know you all

Box - love the sound of your reflexy lady....must get her number off you when the time comes. Feeling v. glad I ride like a sack of spuds tho so crotch muscles should be nice & loose.

SilverSky · 06/07/2010 22:35

All riders welcome here! Tho think you will find being a rider makes you the opposite of loose down there! Super strong muscles!

SilverSky · 06/07/2010 22:36

Bon chance okie!

Backinthebox · 06/07/2010 22:53

Aha - wondered whether you would brave it! For everyone else to get a picture of CluckyKate imagine someone who is actually lots less sick in the morning now she can't drink so much, and was at my side during my most thrilling moment ever on a horse - jumping a 5 ft hedge whilst totally hammered out hunting (we were just like Thelma and Louise going over the cliff ). We celebrated her pregnancy news a few weeks ago by all quaffing champagne before having a mass falling asleep! I am sure she is PESH material. Don't worry CK, there are lots of imminent babies, but also a lot of people just at your end of the journey too. Will give you relex lady's no. when I see you at the weekend.

Backinthebox · 06/07/2010 23:39

Just been discussing the 'final countdown' with OH, and while I am thinking about birth plans and car seats and all that, and making sure I have enough knickers in my hospital bag, OH is preparing for a siege! He declares that the chair in the delvery room was too uncomfortable last time, so he is planning on buying a camping chair to take with him, as well as half a dozen pillows. (I vetoed him taking in one of our existing camping chairs on the grounds I know where they have been - in our stables!) He has also declared he was foolish only taking in 8 hours worth of food last time, too, so is already writing a shopping list that would keep the entire city of Troy fed for a fortnight. Apparently it is his worst fear to be left lonely and hungry in a hospital corridor again. Being miserable will be made better if he has stinky cheese crisps!

SilverSky · 07/07/2010 05:58

Men always think better on a full stomach. Nothing grumpier than a man that is too hot, overtired or too hungry.

Early start for me today, got to be in the office for 7 ish.

Muser · 07/07/2010 07:51

Ah. So this is sickness. That vague queasy feeling was just a teaser. The walking around dry heaving and yet not being able to throw up is perhaps getting closer to the real thing. I presume I have the actual throwing up still to come.

It is very reassuring though. Hooray for symptoms, even if they are the dry boak.
