Just starting up the new thread in anti-natal groups. Will cross post with the old thread and updated the stats in a moment!!

Bad headache overnight paracetamol helped this am. yes tadJenny I am finding my evening meal bloats me out and makes me feel sick and burpy.I need to eat a smaller meal but am So hungry its hard. I get this raging hunger about every 2 to 3 hours its painfull and I have to eat immediately.never had this before. I am So jealous of all of you who have had scans and heart beats I have to wait till Tuesday and like others am convinced there will be nothing there. Last week midwife had a go at listening for heartbeat to no avail. I know it was bit early at 8 + 3 I think she was seeing if I maybe further on cos fundus a bit higher. She was not worried and neither was I but now its nagging at back of my paranoid mind. Anyone had similar? don't bother telling me you had heartbeat on the sonic aid at 6 wks I can't take it pleeeeease.

ledkr its perfectly natural to feel that way. 8+3 is very early to hear the heartbeat, my midwife was reluctant to try with me at 9+4 yesterday and was astonished that she found it. I am the same with the hunger, I have to eat as soon as I am hungry or I get dizzy and shaky, then I eat too much and spend the evening feeling sick and bloated!!

My MW didn't even try to hear DD's heartbeat until I was about 14 weeks, I think it is very difficult to find before then.

I too have been feeling worse in the evening and at night. I keep waking up at about 3am feeling awful and really hungry. I've been keeping a box of oat bars next to the bed and scoffing them when I wake up which has helped a bit

KnitterNotTwitter I wondered what the stats for multiple births was, I had no idea it was that high! Wow its going to be fun when the 12 week scan results start coming in!!! I know I only have one though!

Hi everyone, I have had a private scan this morning and there was the flutter of a heartbeat so i am very relieved. I had been worrying so much about there being a problem so its a huge weight off of my mind. I'm glad everyone is getting on ok i have been feeling really sick and tired still but as yet have not had ms. Just to update the list, i am in Wiltshire.

I think the stats are higher these days because of IVF multiples but there's still plenty of 'regular' ones if that makes sense...

I know i only have one - although I was initially convinced it was 3 or 4 as my bump seemed so massive

Bean was all lovely and wriggly last night as I was going to sleep. So cute to feel it kicking and poking away - I do feel very lucky.

Kez - lovely news about your scan - so glad that all looks like it's going well. It's such a relief. We're so lucky to live now - 30 years ago scans didn't exist so you just had to trust that all was going well...

The book my MW gave me said 1 in 80 pregnancies are twin pregnancies, 1 in 8000 is triplets. DH and I were discussing twins yesterday as my tummy seems to have popped out really early (he attempted to diplomatically state that the rest of me wasn't getting fat though). The thought of twins gives me hives, to be honest.

ledkr My nuchal scan is with babybond on the 26th (I'm in leicestershire and we don't get that one on the nhs here : ( ).

Ooh kez-great news & so reassuring. I have a private scan booked for sat & am a bit apprehensive that it may be too early ( I'll be 8+4 then), so there's hope yet.

Don't think it is, but not sure how I would react if it was twins! They run in my family (mum-had twin bro) but fingers crossed that gene fell swiftly with my younger sis!

geeky i am going to Harley Street for mine on the 28th(may get some boobs or botox next door haha.) I am a bit wary to say the least,they do the blood and scan and then cvs if high risk all in one day. Is that the same for you?Its weird cos if test is high risk then obviously i will have one but if its low i am still unsure as to whether to have one for total reassurance. Its been so worrying so far being 43 and history of mc that i am desparate to elliminate all worries in order to relax but also dont want to take unecessary risks either. It will be dh only child you see.Just hoping all is well and i will be doing cartwheels(metaphorical ones)down Harley street.

grannyapple if you don'tmind my asking (since you live near me). Where are you going privately and how much is it? Don't worry if you don't want to say, it's just I've been thinking of having a private one in a week or so (when I'll be 8/9 weeks) and not sure where to go. I've found a place in Sevenoaks, but it's £100, which seems a bit steep, and contacted Chelsfield Park Hospital last week but they've never replied with availability/cost.

I discovered this morning I'm already getting huge stretch marks on the sides of my stomach - surely this is not good?! and way too early...but I feel like a big fat lump at the minute, having to eat so often, and my tummy is bloated all the time, it's just depressing to look at myself at the minute to be honest, hurry up the 'blooming' stage please!

I'm currently lurking on this thread, it moves too fast for me so I just wanted to update my stats!

Just to say yes I do get more sick in evenings, yesterday I had such bad indegestion that I burped about 20 times!!!!!!!!!!

Also, going for a private scan tomorrow at FMC on Harley street, angel1 it costs £100 but I think that is worth it if it puts your mind at rest. At FMC they spend a whole hour with you,find out how long your place spends with you.

I am so excited that some of you have seem flutters at 8 weeks, I am so nervous about tomorrow.

Really excited for all of you going for scans in the next few days!

Just wanted to moan that I'm really really tired!!!! I want to leave work and go back to sleep!!

So lovely for those of you who have heard/seen heartbeats! I am seriously thinking of pinching the sonic aid at work and having a go myself - prob be a wee bit embarrassing to be walked in on with a probe and a load of KY down my pants though.....

Angels nearly everyone has stretch marks don't worry. I have some but don't bother me. I feel fat n flabby going to re start exercise cos of it. the one thing I love is my skin. Hi Angels, re stretch marks, i didn't get any with DD but I rubbed Bio oil on bump every day religiously, might be worth investing in some. I have got my scan date through for the 9th of August, just so impatient, can't wait that long!!!
And I'm huge this time too, I'll be unpacking the maternity clothes a lot sooner than I thought. I'm going to a wedding on the 24th and what with the bulging belly and not drinking, my friends will twig straight away, really don't want any one to know! Was seriously thinking of not going to the wedding but then felt bad as blew out the hen party as had just go my bfp and really didn't fancy royal ascot champagneless!
Right time for DD tea, enough waffle.

Leetleloo I have invested in bio oil, and had tried in at night, but just found the smell a bit potent with my sensitive nose and couldn't sleep with the pong! Have now decided to try rubbing it on in the morning and see how that goes.

Someone asked me a few days ago to keep them updated on how my cyclizine med was going (can't remember who, sorry). Just to update by saying 3 days in and so far so good. I'm hoping that it's the drugs working and nothing more sinister going on, but have generally felt better. Still have times where I have to force down food trying not to gag as I know I will feel better, but much less frequent than before, and generally so far so long as I keep the food topped up every hour or so, I don't feel as sick as before. I really really hope it continues and that it doesn't go back to how it was, but as I'm only 7 1/2 weeks I feel it could well get worse.

All this talk of twins on here, and my Mum has convinced me I could be having twins! Doc mentioned it a couple of weeks ago, DH got really excited at the idea and Mum thinks my terrible hunger etc is bad enough for there to be 2 little ones, I'm not so sure, but can't wait for the scan . Are there other people who constantly feel like shaky/faint/sick from low blood sugar? like they have to eat...and a small snack just won't do?? No wonder I'm putting on weight ! I'm jealous of all those who've had their scan dates through - I still await mine.

Hi Angles, yes know what you mean about the smell of the bio oil, but its weird, I got really used to it and now the smell always reminds me of being preggers, and rubbing it in this time around brings me a sense of excitement every time i use it.
As for the eating thing, I do not feel sick but I am STARVING all the time, and I want to eat carbs, not sweet, savoury, bowls of pasta, toast, sausage rolls, I am seriously going to have to get a grip, but its like a compulsion. I had the same thing last time and actually had to sneak out of meetings all the time just to cram in a sandwich. Luckily it didn't last much past 12 weeks.
Knitterkid, think you are safe with the booties, I bought a snuggly that I kept in a draw for about 6 years before DD, and I put it in my bed the minute I knew I was preg and she now sleeps with it every night, I know some people don't like to tempt fate but I personally don't believe it works like that and that reminds me to buy a new snuggly for this bean and get it into bed quick!

Hi angels -I've booked the scan with baby bond-having it at their south London unit. Disappointed to hear chelsfield park haven't got back to u-will need to pull a few strings to get that sorted' I prob would have used one of their hospitals ( depending on cost of course!) but don't want anyone to know who may come into contact with people I work!! Baby bond scan is £99-they've also got sites at Maidstone & east London (city). South London could do it quicker so o chose that one.

Not sure If I have the dreaded marks yet but I invested in some bio oil the other day. I've heard clarin's body oil is meant to be fab , but is pricier than bio oil-might talk Hubby into getting some for me!

No real symptoms at the mo-had nausea for about a week & that was it-hence the need for scam for reassurance!

Re: stretchmarks - afraid to say that I was enthusiastic about the bio oil and still had lots of stretchmarks under my bump... But then DS was 10 lb 6 oz and my bump was SO huge that strangers would stop me in the street and ask if he was twins :-)
