Hey PESHies been lurking not posting but wanted to check in and say NICE ONE Reggie!

Glad your un's head is in the right place iggy.

Also, the best thing on pizza is artichoke, as any fule kno.

10 weeks away from D Day, Skaterbabe is predicted to be 7 lbs* and already has a fine left hook.

  • And ginger. They can test for that now.
Cosmosis · 17/06/2010 17:30

I have a low level period pain type back ache, and front ache. Please to be telling me what it is?

skates why have I not been offered this ginger test???? I am outraged.

Backinthebox · 17/06/2010 17:41

More boys! Everyone I knew had girls last time round.

Rots I saw that link somewhere else last week, and my first thought was Ski would probably like that

Skates have your dates moved? Or are you living in an alternative time and space? I can't be any more than 5 days behind you at the very most, and I still have nearly 12 weeks to go! This is the seocnd time you've mentioned being ahead of the game - it's not fair, you know!

CurlyCasper · 17/06/2010 17:43

evening, just a quickie to say congrats and hurray to reggie and iggy. Good news all round.

But, seriously, another boy?

please to be telling more about the ginger test?

iggs enjoy tomorrow! Looking forward to welcoming you to the feet-up club. (And I'm trying not to ponder too much on the funz being had in the big smoke tonight)

Backinthebox · 17/06/2010 17:47

Cas you passed the ginger test - don't worry . I think I probably did, too.

CUNextTuesday · 17/06/2010 18:48

cos maybe BH? Getting a bit of proactice in . They can happen from 20 weeks onwards...

TwinkleToes76 · 17/06/2010 18:55

Reg - oh lovely news, am quite hoping for one myself.

Cossie - most probably nothing but could be a uti? I had one at about 25 weeks that felt like waves of increasing, low abdominal pain but no other symptoms. Thought I was going into premature labour!

CUNextTuesday · 17/06/2010 19:12

Good thinking twinks, kidney ishoos can cause a nasty dragging pain in back.

cos phone MW tomorrow and get it checked, they may want to see you down the day assesment unit

rollerbaby · 17/06/2010 19:43

YAY for boys! Brilliant news reggie.

there is no such thing as too much pineapple or ham or mozzarella on a pizza. YUM YUM YUM. I refuse to eat any other pizza in fact. I'm not sure about peach though... although I am partial to a mango and prawn salad outside of pregnancy. God I'm fucking starving. Sausage and mash for tea tonight.

Okie brillant work on the nappy review front. I had heard that pampers was a bit pants and that their newborn nappy wasn't that great. Whihc one is that then?

Also how many of the motherfuckers do you get through in a week? 18 quids worth? Holy cow! I'm going to be holding him over the sink.

Okes sorry to hear about all your job stress. That is a bit shit. I'm sure you will be ok though. Does this mean loads of extra work for you now they've made people redundant? Let's meet up soon for more pineapple on pizza at PIzza express maybe? Nom nom. When are you offski on your hollies?

My fricking work have now seemingly rebuked the HR womans initial verbal advice that I'd be able to get 6 months of my mat leave holiday pay in advance. How shit is that? She's trying to sort it out, and seems to be some internal political thing. Really hacked off. Do you all get that or am I being unreasonable? Apparently normal policy is to give it to you when you get back to work... Don't need it then do I??? doh. Also, do you get SMP for as long as you are off up to a year - or less?

Dinner awaits. Back later potata.

rollerbaby · 17/06/2010 19:44

Also are huggies newborn nappies good? I am hearing good things about them? Thanking you.

Backinthebox · 17/06/2010 20:12

Moo, the way our work do it they pay you what they owe you when you say you are coming back to work. So if they owe me 4 weeks and I say I am going back on the 1st June they will pay me the 4 weeks for May. Works fine for me - by that point I will be sticking my hand as far down the back of the sofa as I can get it in the search for spare pennies!

Cosmosis · 17/06/2010 20:50

SMP is 9 months honey and eat the bloody prawn salad, prawns are fine.

Back ache gone - I wonder if just tiredness related. I'll mention it to MW next week just in case.

rollerbaby · 17/06/2010 20:57

I had backache but realised i was tottering about in heels. Wot a nob.

CurlyCasper · 17/06/2010 21:34

I thought for a minute that this was aimed at you, cos, but it's actually not that interesting. (was in most active).

CurlyCasper · 17/06/2010 21:34

Cosmosis · 17/06/2010 21:53

lol!

SilverSky · 17/06/2010 23:00

Just checking in. Work haz been crayzeee.

Husband and Iare back from a curry night out. Hmmm. He has now gone to bed as he is unwell and I have been instructed to stay up and keel the k9 company. K9 is clearly very appreciative and is out in the garden.

Think I am going to drown myself in Tootie Frooties and then hit the hay. Meanwhile, little person is def awake and having ball in there!

Congrats to all on the bayberry updates. Make sire we know when you pop!!!!!

reginaMonologue · 18/06/2010 10:10

So to catch up....

Hmmm yum yum all this talk of pizza - I confess I usually eat a whole one, but my favourites are in fact dominoes, you just can't beat a texas bbq one! The only problem we have here is that our nearest outlet is far enough away that they don't deliver to our home address, so we have to go pick it up armed with thermal bag and a good amount of wreakless driving to get it home before it spoils...

cunty you must be tres excited about impending birth, I reckon the baybee will wait for next week and doula and for the right alignment in the planets . I wish I was able to go to our midwife led unit, but alas that's not an option for me so I shall be prancing off to the hospital when my time comes to be poked with sticks and greated with looks of curious amazement I'm sure...

cos your spermatically thought out inducement techniques are er interesting! Though I have heard this else where, I'm pretty sure I'll stick to eating my own body weight in pinapple .

boxy gratz on up and coming anniversary, are you doing anything nice to celebrate? I always find it very difficult to get my OH a nice gift, so we always settle on spoiling ourselves and going to a nice restaurant instead and gorging on our favourite foods! I am in somewhat of a quandry over fathers day at the moment... see we didn't know that I was expecting really on mothers day this year, but now we know for sure I figure I should get him something, but what is the question. I might have to settle on a chocolate cake or something very simple.

moo nice spending at M&P - they do have some lovely stuff there and I too shall be frequenting their store near us when my sister comes down to visit...

silver my OH and I were discussing when he might be able to feel the baby moving last night. I told him it'd be a while yet before he'd be able to physically feel anything, esp. in light of the fact the movements have my spare tyre of whale blubber to get through as well as my internal organs. I do hope he does get to feel something, even if it's very late on cos it'd be shame if he cant. I blame me and my volumptousness yet again!

ski bargain on the maxi-cosi! We got the pebble and the family fix base (is that the one you got boxy?) and I'm pretty sure both together it was about 300 smackers. Ouch. As for weird ass dreams, mine last night involved me giving birth to a kidd (as in baby goat) which then started sucking on my nips. It also pooed in the lounge. I woke up disturbed as you can imagine and wonder if it was a subliminal message that in fact I'm giving birth to satans spawn .

okie hope the job stuff settles down, the last place I worked out people were in and out of the door quicker than you could blink and we were always threatened with redundancies and effectively water-boarded with the company finances every month where doom and gloom was cast amongst the masses to keep everyone terrified. Glad I left in the end!

rots good post on the nappy rankings... and thanks for the reply to it okie, very helpful. I'll defo be trying the bumgenius and pampers baby dry for a starter for 10 and figure out which works best for us.

iggy a 9lber will be an accomplishment! I rememer my mum telling me about the woman who was next to her on the maternity ward who gave birth to a 12lb whopper... i'm stinging just at the thought of it!

all thanks muchly for the contratulations! It was a bit surreal when I found out as I opened a letter marked "confidential" having no idea where it came from (honeslty I thought it was from the inland revenue and so nearly didn't bother opening it at all!). It was only 2 paragraphs long however so I thought on scan reading it I thought it was just a confirmation of the RAPID results that came through, so it was only when I got to the last sentence wot said "the sex of the baby is male" I realised that:-

a) this was in fact the final set of results
b) I just found out I was having a baby boy!

It was a bit like the moment when the POAS result came back as positive, shock, excitement, disbelief and then realisation and finally happiness! I did have to ring the midwife to make sure it was the final set of results which she confirmed so at last it's all over! (well at least till the 20 week anomoly scan anyway!).

I know another baybee boy PESH isn't helping with the boy:girl ratio much, but you know I'm actually very excited it's a boy, as ski will tell you I'm not a girly girl so I'm not sure how well I'd cope with pink and chince, angels and fairies and that sort of guff! Let alone the old puberty talk (cos lets face it, it's a bit more complicated for girls than it is boys!). I'm also chufffed I can now go out and get stuff suited for the baybee rather than guessing randomly if my baby will look a bit dandy or butch in something .

So despite me rushing out to shop yesterday I in fact only came back with some placemats for our new table and some nice stuff for dinner to celebrate... we are however going shop shop at the weekend top pick up some of the extra lovely stuff I saw the last time I was out and about, there was this very cute little rain jacket with hippo's all over it I was particular keen on for sure!

Whilst talking about shopping... as anyone ever devised a "starter kit list" for newborns - you know, all the shit you need to have ready for when you first get home with the baby, stuff like linen for cots, baby essentials, baby baths etc etc etc... anyone got any suggestions?

SkaterGrrrrl · 18/06/2010 11:58

Boxy I'm almost 30 weeks.

You could be right though, maths is not my forte. When they were giving out Maths in heaven, I was in the Breasts queue. I know what gets you served at the bar quicker.

SkaterGrrrrl · 18/06/2010 12:03

On Weds it is exactly 10 weeks till my EDD.

Reggie I am also not a girly girl and if this breakdancing baby is female, she will be dungaree-clad and laden with science books if I have anything to do with it.

rollerbaby · 18/06/2010 12:16

Waaaah just got my first proper kick (really low down) and cried out in the middle of the office. Like a massive twitchy hiccup. Didn't like the feeling that much I have to say - was really weird. Am holding onto my tummy!!!

iggypiggy · 18/06/2010 12:23

moo you do get used to it, cos I remember thinking it was wierd, but is fine now... we were all sitting in the office yesterday watching my belly ripple... is quite freaky...

reg really really fab news am hoping the weight guess is out and that it's more like 7lb

skates is going v. fast innit!

Last day in office... odd...

Cosmosis · 18/06/2010 12:41

reggie no, that was subliminal messaging that you are actually going to give birth to a baby goat.

CurlyCasper · 18/06/2010 13:36

hurrah for baby kicks, last days, shopping and a v exciting BESH fred development...

skihorse · 18/06/2010 13:40

honey Yep, I've squealed a few times at my desk!

skater As a scientist type bird your maffs should be second to none anyway. Big tits will get you served quickly but you don't want to get short changed innit.

iggy Congratulations on your LAST DAY!

reggie If it eases your mind at all, Cossie spent weeks dreaming about an artichoke in her abdomen - hence her sexless baby being named "Artie". Jailbait dreamed last night that a leg came out first... a dog leg. Apparently alongside Julian I have been cooking a puppy because big dog always wanted to become a mummy. I too am utterly delighted about having a little boy - I don't know anything about boys having never had a brother - so it's all new to me. I can practice on him and hopefully if he's lucky enough to have a little sister I won't totally fuck that up!

I haz been to the park to look at the bambis. I now haz E-coli/toxoplasmis/rabies?

I'm not counting my chickens re: pineapple - I've been eating it all through my pregnancy and not a whiff of anyfink. Not even the raw prawns were up to shifting Jules. He'll come when he's good and ready.
