So to catch up....
Hmmm yum yum all this talk of pizza - I confess I usually eat a whole one, but my favourites are in fact dominoes, you just can't beat a texas bbq one! The only problem we have here is that our nearest outlet is far enough away that they don't deliver to our home address, so we have to go pick it up armed with thermal bag and a good amount of wreakless driving to get it home before it spoils...
cunty you must be tres excited about impending birth, I reckon the baybee will wait for next week and doula and for the right alignment in the planets . I wish I was able to go to our midwife led unit, but alas that's not an option for me so I shall be prancing off to the hospital when my time comes to be poked with sticks and greated with looks of curious amazement I'm sure...
cos your spermatically thought out inducement techniques are er interesting! Though I have heard this else where, I'm pretty sure I'll stick to eating my own body weight in pinapple .
boxy gratz on up and coming anniversary, are you doing anything nice to celebrate? I always find it very difficult to get my OH a nice gift, so we always settle on spoiling ourselves and going to a nice restaurant instead and gorging on our favourite foods! I am in somewhat of a quandry over fathers day at the moment... see we didn't know that I was expecting really on mothers day this year, but now we know for sure I figure I should get him something, but what is the question. I might have to settle on a chocolate cake or something very simple.
moo nice spending at M&P - they do have some lovely stuff there and I too shall be frequenting their store near us when my sister comes down to visit...
silver my OH and I were discussing when he might be able to feel the baby moving last night. I told him it'd be a while yet before he'd be able to physically feel anything, esp. in light of the fact the movements have my spare tyre of whale blubber to get through as well as my internal organs. I do hope he does get to feel something, even if it's very late on cos it'd be shame if he cant. I blame me and my volumptousness yet again!
ski bargain on the maxi-cosi! We got the pebble and the family fix base (is that the one you got boxy?) and I'm pretty sure both together it was about 300 smackers. Ouch. As for weird ass dreams, mine last night involved me giving birth to a kidd (as in baby goat) which then started sucking on my nips. It also pooed in the lounge. I woke up disturbed as you can imagine and wonder if it was a subliminal message that in fact I'm giving birth to satans spawn .
okie hope the job stuff settles down, the last place I worked out people were in and out of the door quicker than you could blink and we were always threatened with redundancies and effectively water-boarded with the company finances every month where doom and gloom was cast amongst the masses to keep everyone terrified. Glad I left in the end!
rots good post on the nappy rankings... and thanks for the reply to it okie, very helpful. I'll defo be trying the bumgenius and pampers baby dry for a starter for 10 and figure out which works best for us.
iggy a 9lber will be an accomplishment! I rememer my mum telling me about the woman who was next to her on the maternity ward who gave birth to a 12lb whopper... i'm stinging just at the thought of it!
all thanks muchly for the contratulations! It was a bit surreal when I found out as I opened a letter marked "confidential" having no idea where it came from (honeslty I thought it was from the inland revenue and so nearly didn't bother opening it at all!). It was only 2 paragraphs long however so I thought on scan reading it I thought it was just a confirmation of the RAPID results that came through, so it was only when I got to the last sentence wot said "the sex of the baby is male" I realised that:-
a) this was in fact the final set of results
b) I just found out I was having a baby boy!
It was a bit like the moment when the POAS result came back as positive, shock, excitement, disbelief and then realisation and finally happiness! I did have to ring the midwife to make sure it was the final set of results which she confirmed so at last it's all over! (well at least till the 20 week anomoly scan anyway!).
I know another baybee boy PESH isn't helping with the boy:girl ratio much, but you know I'm actually very excited it's a boy, as ski will tell you I'm not a girly girl so I'm not sure how well I'd cope with pink and chince, angels and fairies and that sort of guff! Let alone the old puberty talk (cos lets face it, it's a bit more complicated for girls than it is boys!). I'm also chufffed I can now go out and get stuff suited for the baybee rather than guessing randomly if my baby will look a bit dandy or butch in something .
So despite me rushing out to shop yesterday I in fact only came back with some placemats for our new table and some nice stuff for dinner to celebrate... we are however going shop shop at the weekend top pick up some of the extra lovely stuff I saw the last time I was out and about, there was this very cute little rain jacket with hippo's all over it I was particular keen on for sure!
Whilst talking about shopping... as anyone ever devised a "starter kit list" for newborns - you know, all the shit you need to have ready for when you first get home with the baby, stuff like linen for cots, baby essentials, baby baths etc etc etc... anyone got any suggestions?
