CurlyCasper · 23/06/2010 08:16

sorry, a bit too me, me, me today.

silver I am glad all was okay yesterday. Wish I could have been here to reassure you yesterday. I had reduced movements at one point and was taken in and monitored - and the little bugger went mental as soon as she was hooked up to the machine. Apparently the majority of them do that. Hope you are feeling better about eveything. I find cheese talk always helps!

skihorse · 23/06/2010 08:25

curly You've got leaky boobs too? I wouldn't worry about the size - as you know, she's a very good size and you're healthy - it's all good! Ummm... are you dilated?

CurlyCasper · 23/06/2010 08:38

No bloody idea! Apparently the blood tinges are a sign of dilation:

"As the cervix continues to soften and dilate, many women will experience the loss of their mucous plug in what is often referred to as the "bloody show." The mucous plug, which sealed the cervix throughout the pregnancy, may be passed as a clump, or over several days, indicated by an increase in mucous discharge. As the cervix dilates, blood vessels break and may tinge the mucous plug brown, pink or red. Passing the mucous plug is typically a sign that labor is imminent in the next few hours or days, though it may be dislodged a few weeks prior to labor due to intercourse or a doctor's exam. If you experience this before 37 weeks, or the bleeding is heavy, and a consistent bright red, contact your doctor or midwife."

I thought the show was a long-running mucousy thing and the plug a big blob, but this says they are pretty much the same thing. And I haven't had either sex or a Dr's exam to prompt the start of it.

Anyhoo, stripping beds doesn't seem to be doing me any harm...

On the boobs front, I was reading about hand expressing yesterday and ended up grabbing my tit in such a way as to mimic the pictures - next thing I had clear, slightly yellow liquid actually flowing from my nips. Not just spots, actually running down my breast. Nice!

Cosmosis · 23/06/2010 08:53

Oh my lordy lord! curls is poss about to overtake cunty and drom has a win!!!!!! Momentous times!!

Oh and NCT teacher surprised us all by inviting an actual real live wriggly baybee to class last night. Was most entertaining as none of us could do anything but gaze at her in awe.

Backinthebox · 23/06/2010 09:04

Oooh, exciting Cas! Will check back frequently to see what is happening.

Silver glad everything is OK. Babies are little buggers that like to start winding you up even before they are born. Just wait till it is out and you are watching it sleep and suddenly you think it has stopped breathing - then it takes a big breathe as if to go 'only joking!' Btw, I been to the other place and replied

Cheese shmeese! I have had the odd bit of Pie de Angloys - delish smelly runny French cheese - with the rind cut off, but not gone mad. At the weekend, though, I had a momentary rebellion and had pate for starter, pink steak for mains, all washed down with Pimm's. Was lush! I WILL use the toxoplasmosis defence though if next door's cat craps in my veggie garden one more time. All the bloody forest it can go and crap in, but no! It craps in my food. I have been told that it is possibly because I have been weeding and digging, but frankly I am a big believer in the No Work Garden and prefer to fight my way through the weeds (and crap) to get to my fruit.

Reggie and Swit I have a theme for my nursery too - tis yellow and pink, just like last time . Baby boy will just have to assert his masculinity a bit to overcome the floweryness of it.

PollyPoo · 23/06/2010 09:11

Hells bells what a day already! Casp I am very excited for ya, and will be checking back through the day for progress. My plug fell out on the bathroom floor at 7am on the Fri. I had Boo at 1.05am Saturday.

OMG OMG OMG I am way over excited today!

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 23/06/2010 09:17

Gosh curls sounds like this could be it! We'll be watching for updates! Ideally one of those fab live labour threads! Anyway, hope you are feeling good and try not to be too nervous!

Wonderful news from drom too. It's a lucky thread there over in the palais!

rots · 23/06/2010 09:20

cas peeeersonally, I would probably phone the MW as you're not yet 37 weeks. Apparently everyone's experience of the show is different. For me it was a very clear lump of bloody jelly (niiiice) which I got when I woke up with clear, regular and not to be mistaken for anything else contractions (same day as I delivered him). For others, as you say, it an be a few weeks before.

But although she's a good size it's best she waits for another few weeks to ensure her lungs are all nicely ready.

skihorse · 23/06/2010 09:21

Polly It's definitely going to be one of those giddy days isn't it? Which one of us cruel-hearted bitches hasn't shed a tear for drom yet? I saw she'd posted on BESH at much-too-early-o'clock which is always a giveaway. Cue tears obv! Now curly's going for it too! What next? Anyone for twinz?

boxer Sounds very wise to me, the Pimms will have neutralised that nasty hysteria for you. Btw, I love your nursery theme - ours will be "imagination".

skihorse · 23/06/2010 09:24

rots Not helpful. If curly has gone (is going) in to labour it's not as if she can cross her legs!

I haz texted cunty to give her the head's up on someone potentially stealing her glory - and to give her the drom news.

CurlyCasper · 23/06/2010 09:42

don't want to steal any glory, please. The BESH news is far too exciting.

But thanks all for your support anyway.

rots I probably will phone MW later, but if it's happening, I am happy for it to happen. My Baby is probably ready AFAIC. (and so am I) I won't be crossing my legs and will want really good reasons if they want to give me any drugs or ought to stop it.

I still haven't washed myself, and SFF is not yet home, so there is no point in doing anything at the mo.

Anyhoo, my level of worry is such that cleaning the house and my husband watching the match remain my top priorities

Oh, and making sure I have looked out a pretty outfit for my girl to come home in

PollyPoo · 23/06/2010 09:43

Don't panic Rots. I think the CurlyOne said she'd ring the midwife after she'd pack the bags.

I got so distracted by the excited here today I didn't notice that Boo had decorated herself from head to waist in soggy sticky Shreddies.

PollyPoo · 23/06/2010 09:44

Sorry - x-post Curly.

rots · 23/06/2010 09:44

ski IF she's going into labour then they can sometimes stop it if they think they should, or, they can give an injection which will mature the lungs. I'm not an idiot - crossing her legs isn't what i'm suggesting - and I'm not trying to scaremonger (why would I? I'm as excited as everyone at the idea of a cas baybee and only want the very best for her and her little one).

skihorse · 23/06/2010 09:45
  • champagne in the fridge for coming home with Best Dressed Girl Baybee!

When is SFF due home? Has he been on night shift?

CurlyCasper · 23/06/2010 09:45

chill all - I am

Loving the imagery of shreddie covered boo!

CurlyCasper · 23/06/2010 09:46

he was ski. Think he might have just pulled into the drive.

rots · 23/06/2010 09:49

cas for the record, I'm actually bouncing on my chair in excitement

OP posts:
VoilaAnotherGimlet · 23/06/2010 09:52

Cas - argh! and hooray! can't believe it's all happening today! Cunty had better get a move on and then you can have BESHbaby twins, and they can be dressed alike, and no one will be able to tell them apart, and then they'll get married and we can all come to the weddding and reminisce about today, oh and......

CurlyCasper · 23/06/2010 09:54

right - he says we should phone. I said I will finish our bedroom and shower first. Deal has been agreed.

I'm going to go and get on and will update you later. Possibly by text.

Have a good day y'all!

PollyPoo · 23/06/2010 09:57

Woop woop! Good luck Casp! xx (yes, they are kisses. Anyone want to make summat of it?)

iggypiggy · 23/06/2010 10:01

ooh cas this is exciting - am very much hoping we get some baybee news from someone soon (although cunty must wait until friday cos that is what I said it would be )

You have slightly scared me tho... cos I have not yet packed any kind of hospital bag... oops... and we all know my baby is fucking huge so - who knows what will happen - according to the the last scan it already weights more than bloke did when he was born.. ha ha...

So... what else is happening.. apart from the successful summer diffment programme over on the BESH fred ?!

cossie I am missing chatting to you - we had real live baybee in our NCT class too - was a very very cute one... but then they are mostly looking cute to me these days

oh yes - only other news I have is that I don't have Group B strep... but as I wasn't really expecting to, that is not such big news!

I have been enjoying my maternity leave mainly... have been swimming and chilling out and cooking etc etc... although has been punctuated by many visits to the hospital (to visit a relative) which is less good...

skihorse · 23/06/2010 10:11

iggy yep, jailbait's decided we're packing the hospital bag TONIGHT! How much are they now estimating your's weighs?

lol @ VAG curly Have a wonderful day!

rots · 23/06/2010 10:13

ski's getting too excited and messing up her apostrophe's again :-P

cas Can't wait for news!!

@ VAG

OP posts:
skihorse · 23/06/2010 10:16

rots I think my brain is still gurning over drom's news because I did actually think long and hard about that apostrophe and thought it should be there because it indicates iggy's baybee - as in "your baby". Or should I just put my brain on ice for the rest of the day?

Isn't it funny how VAG has slowly but surely been worn down? I was just thinking last night of how poor VAG went in to a total headspin when she got her BFP and denied it. Now look at her - she's planning PESH offspring weddings!
