I've been working from home for the last couple of days - DH banned me from going into the office - and it's been crazy trying to catch up with everything, plus I seem to have been on half speed.

Had the mw this morning - she was happy with everything, heartbeat and everything all fine again and seemed like lo had gone head down in the night, but I think she's gone breech again this afternoon as I can feel her head under my ribs again. At least that means she's moving around happily though

Gracie - how are things with you? How's the heart beat?

Memphis - hope pains aren't too bad.

I was thinking that with my working from home I'd be able to pop and get a wax and manipedi, but the last three days have just disappeared, so my vintage vag will have to stay the way it is for now.

Gracie123 · 11/06/2010 18:52

Still worryingly sleepy baby Anifers which has been stressing me out a lot.

I think that's why DH was so nice about the pram. He is probably just thinking it's a good distraction as it's the first time he's come home to me smiling all week.

The Dr is monitoring us both and is happy to let the pregnancy continue at the moment. Despite LO seeming very sleepy, the blood flow through the cord looked good on the scan, so they are just going to leave things and see how they progress.

Anifersgirl · 11/06/2010 19:05

gracie when they were monitoring me the other night the MW kept coming over and jiggling my bump trying to wake my LO up and my readings had gone very regular like that too.

It's the not being able to relax and enjoy it that was upsetting me, as I'd been loving pregnancy up until the crash. I think getting stuck back into work again this last couple of days has helped, plus everyone has been so lovely and supportive which helps so much.

LO is currently doing John Hurt impressions!

Delta4 · 11/06/2010 19:13

Anifers glad to see all well and back home again.

gracie I'm sure if they were worried they would have you in on constant monitoring or something. It is hard not to worry...I worry if baby seems to let me sleep through the night, then the pain starts as LO moves! Never happy!!

Have a good night everyone!

Glad dh was happy with the surprise gracie and your travel system. How did you find out lo's sex without dh knowing? When you back at the hospital?

mlic What will you do with ds if things do develop while your mother is on holiday? Just curious, as PIL are also on hols on Sunday and have got a list of friends etc who will be able to look after dd if things develop before they come back.

stac I try to keep my legs together as much as possible but I can't really stop it hurting, it's no fun!

mlic what a scary day! I love the way you panicked with the mw as if she'd be like 'well, ok, you're in labour but since you're not ready we'll let you off'

anifers glad you're both ok!

nixster28 · 11/06/2010 20:48

cant beleive how quickly this thread goes...

Spent a lovely day with my niece today and turned out to be a gorgeous sunny day but not too uncomfortabley hot thank god.
Anifers glad to hear you are home and lo is moving about lots to reassure you
wonder congrats on your poo i know how much of a relief it can be sometimes as i can not go for days and then i celebrate and tell my mum and friends when i've been!
WWSW good luck with your prunes, hope they get you moving. Thanks all for the advice on raspberry leaf tea. i've been drinking it for a few weeks and as i dont mind the taste thought i'd carry on tho i'm sceptical but willing to try pretty much anything... apart from perennial (sp?) masseage kapars as they one time i tried this it really quite hurt
gracie sounds like an ebay bargin that was too good to miss, the pram is gorgeous and really pleased you dh was happy about the pram and it being a girl. i'm curious like stac as to how you knew the sex but dh didnt?
Hope everyone is havin a good evening
stac i've heard that witch hazel is good for healing cs wounds as well as arnica tablets so might be worth trying

memphis83 · 11/06/2010 21:28

mlic im not drinking the tea im not into fruit teas but having capsules, hoping that even if it doesnt wotk in my head i may be thinking well it would have hurt more if i didnt take it
stac i take the tiny arnica homeopathic tabs you suck and ive been taking them from this week but some tablets which are more like capsules say the week b4 so just see which you can get i got mine from haland and barratts they also sell them in boots, today i had hair done, mani, pedi, eyebrow wax, eyehash tint and while the tint took effect i had a head massage, they also concentrated on massaging legs and arms and its helped my restless legs and carpel tunnel in hand!
been getting cramps tonight but had a bath to ease it!

GlastonburyGoddess · 11/06/2010 21:29

emphis83-good luck with the fake tan, has it turned out ok? I want to do it but am a bit chicken!

DesperateHousewife21-sorry to hear about the situation with MIL, thats all you need, its pants when someone lets you down like that, is she like that alot? can you get the money together without her contributing?

nixster28- I used the raspberry leaf capsules with ds1, didnt think it made the slightest difference though so didnt with ds2 and wont be using this time either. Am going to try evening primrose capsules inserted inside though and see if that helps-theyre supposed to help soften the cervix, will start doing it from next weekend.

Spirael-Ive thought about getting one of those too seeing as the pram is £700 new, might make someone take a chance. Have you got the one that looks like a climbing carribina? For others whove never heard of buggy locks-theyre handy for when you go swimming or somewhere where you have to abandon the pram like softplay. Ive had 2 people I know whove had prams stolen, its shocking but it happens.

Gracie123-Well done on the pram, it looks lovely. Theirs a company called Paisley freight on ebay that will deliver it for £20, my seller just wrapped in black bags and it arrived fine, there was no extra hassle for the seller other than waiting in for the morning for the courier to collect, which they would of had to do if I collected anyway. she may be saying no courier because she assumes itll be more hassle/work for her.

MyLifeIsChaotic-lovely work presents!lol at hoping cervix was open+about your mum on holiday-MIL is away in greece this week and is convinced it'll arrive whilst shes away, although id be grateful as im fed up now, its highly unlikey to come 4 weeks early as other two were late!

Had a rubbish nights sleep last night, in loads of pain in my hips and dp kept elbowing me and sticking his knee in my back. then to top it off he kept farting and because the fan was on it was circling round the room. god it was an awful night!

poor ds1 has come out really badly with the pox, hes much more covered than ds2 was and hes got them in his thoat too poor thing.

Have had an exhausting day today, weve had no hot water for two days as our thermostat broke so after the chap fixed it this morning ive been running around cleaning, washing, mopping etc etc and have really overdone it, am hurting now but looking forward to a weekend of laying about on the bed watching dp do the decorating!!

stac14 · 11/06/2010 21:33

thanks norky i think i'll try everything lol

Woohoo got toenails done so they are a lovely shade of black cherry and i did it myself lol. Hows everyone coping with world cup fever? My ds is addicted but dp's not bothered bout footy.

Wonderstuff · 11/06/2010 21:39

anifers glad to see you back

gracie excellent reaction from your dh - I welled up a little bit reading that (so hormonal)

I looked up Rasberry leaf on tinternet and it said that it would not bring on labour but did work well to prepare the cervix and make for a more successful labour - not sure how reliable and well researched the article was but I'm going to the health food shop tomorrow

Regards c-section - no first hand experience, but a friend was in hospital and a nurse didn't find time to help her wash wound daily, next nurse came on shift couple of days later, was unimpressed with first nurse and said friend got MRSA in wound - friend had obviously not realised this was a possiblity or would have shouted louder. V. rare, don't want to scare anyone, but do make sure the hospital look after you properly.

Have a good weekend all - I think I'm in for wall to wall football - lucky me.

stac14 · 11/06/2010 21:58

sorry thanks should be to nixter

Defo a great day then memphis. I'l have a look when out tomorrow

chulita i try that to but feel like i need leverage to get round

Poor ds1 glaston hope you get a better nights sleep, lol at dp farting not for you obviously, mine does the same. Hope you have a lovely relaxing weekend.x

WickedWitchSouthWest · 11/06/2010 22:14

pretty pram gracie, how are you going to make sure your dh doesn't peek?!

spirael good idea re the lock. I'll just use my bike lock if I need to but I'm not sure I will. The only time we've ever locked a buggy to something was at Center Parcs.

kapars I'm not sure about the short labour really. I had a long latent phase of about 10 days (thankfully unnoticed by me coz I'm such a moose sometimes) so I guess most of the work had been done without me really noticing. I should probably point out that I do have quite a high pain threshhold!

I'm with you on the pillow mountain though, it has to be completely perfect

oh crikey mlic, don't leave it too late if you start to progress. The vouchers from work are a lovely idea so you can treat yourself when baby arrives!

anifers lovely to see you back! Am at vintage vag, v funny!

nixster I'm SO not doing "that" massage! Sounds bloody awful and I think my undercarriage is going to get enough abuse without me sticking my fingers in there too! Thanks for the concern re my bowel Thankfully prunes were not needed today, so the tin lives for another day. Must take better care of myself though coz the idea of pooing during labour is not plesant!

glasto I chickened out of inserting the EPO capsules and took them orally instead. No idea if that has the same effect? Might have to wonder off and do some googling.. Your poor ds1. I had the pox internally too and it's miserable. Hope he's better soon.

well done on the toenails stac! see, it is possible! Mine are bright yellow (a departure from my normal rouge noir) so I'll probably end up doing them again next week

Gosh, what a long catch up! Husband has just informed me that he's going to be away 3 nights next week. Am a bit as he's 4 hours drive away... Seeing mw again on Monday so will ask her to do a "thorough" check and if there's any chance of something happening then I will have to chain myself to him so he can't go anywhere!

Am I the only one looking forward to the football? Have got a lovely wallchart and religiously filling it in

memphis83 · 11/06/2010 22:27

wonder and stac the thing with the rasberry leaf tea i think some people think its 1 cup a day when realistically i
ts more like 6 so thats why ive gone for tablets 6 tablets its easier than 6 fruit teas for me! it softens the cervix so it opens easier apparently, thats what my book says.
wwsw and glasto the evening primrose works like sperm (sorry tmi) as its a more concentrated version of something in sperm to start of cervix opening, i just looked it up and it says dont insert capssules just the oil, and if your splitting capsules then to use a sterile needle (you dont want an infection!!)
wwsw im afraid our house is very anti football, ive actually banned any football out of our house for the next month!! and i wont be buying a newspaper for a while either! im dreading if anyone buys me a football themed babygrow the charity shop is in for a treat if i do!!

WickedWitchSouthWest · 11/06/2010 22:44

lol memphis we're a very football orientated family, I can't tell you how many thousands of games I have been to

thanks for the info re the EPO, I haven't got around to doing my own research yet (damn you MN for being addictive) but I can see how squirting the oil in could be interesting....
