gracie my scar's been very painful too recently, same thing with sitting up being painful and trousers resting on it etc. I don't think mine's changed colour but it was still a bit red and raised from DD. Sometimes it feels like it did about 4 weeks after having DD. Not nice I'd see a GP for sure if yours has definitely changed colour though.

It's so hot here at the mo, DD was up for 90 mins at 2am so didn't get a good sleep. I'd have a nap but the tankfest is on down the road and it's really loud with bands/tanks/gun firing etc. We were also woken at 1am by 'eng-er-land' fans rolling home, not impressed!

kittykat at 50 miles away, I don't even like DH going 20 miles away to his work...I hope you get plenty of warning for this LO!

Emster30 · 26/06/2010 16:20

Hello all, I finished work for mat leave yesterday, yay! So glad not to have to take the tube any more.

I have pretty puffy ankles and feet in this heat - might go and stick them in a bucket of cold water.

So onTuesday, if not before, we'll finally have our first two babies on this thread... how exciting!

nixster28 · 26/06/2010 17:19

Afternoon everyone. wow this thread is moving so quickly again.
I've been busy buying paint and trying to sort carpet for my new home. Also now praying lo keeps baking for at least a couple more weeks so i have a chance of being ready. I was 37 weeks yesterday and a bit nervous after my friend saying thats when she went into labour and she really thinks my bump has dropped.
Thank god for my fan and copious amounts of ice lollies to keep me cool in this heat. i know i wouldn't sleep without my fan at the moment.
Gracie you're brave weighing yourself, i haven't dared since i was 20 weeks and that was scary enough. i lost nearly 3 stone in the lead up to gettin pregnant and wouldn't be surprised if i've put most of that back on.

Gracie123 · 26/06/2010 17:42

I don't really want to know how much I weigh - I just really want the wii fit to be impressed with how much I've lost in a few short weeks

Wonderstuff · 26/06/2010 18:01

I am hot and tired, first day the heat has really got to me, have been having bh all afternoon. DH went out and I bust into tears about 5 mins later, had to call him and get him home, just feel drained and awful. Am having a little lie down, but the cat is insisting on sitting on me

I was up with dd at midnight then couldn't sleep, got up and started reading at 1.30, finally got to sleep at about 2.30 I think, so frustrating, just can't switch off. Yesterday I thought it would be weeks yet, today I'm back to thinking could be anytime. Have sorted out the moses basket and all dd's old clothes today. Going to pack my hospital bag as soon as I find the energy.

Its too hot.

DesperateHousewife21 · 26/06/2010 20:14

Hi all,

I am SO lazy, I fell asleep after lunch and when I woke up I was sweating I was so hot, flung windows open and took off all my clothes and vegged out on the sofa while DP played on his xbox! So the beach will have to wait, might go down there tomoro!

I have put on 3 stone during this preg and I really dont want to know if Ive put on anymore so wont be weighing myself for a good month or so after LO is born. To be fair I was underweight pre-preg so the first stone or so doesnt count

Im also having trouble sleeping, getting to sleep doesnt seem to be a problem, its when I wake at around 4am for the toilet and the room is so stuffy I find it hard to get back to sleep. A fan is a very good idea.

Cant wait to see some baby pics after we have all waited so long, Im 37 weeks tomoro, I should really sort my hospital bag out, still got a few things to buy for it.

wwsw im competitive too and i actually beat dh on the wii fit last night i felt very smug
gracie dont weigh yourself on the wii fit, i did and it said you have put on this much weight and are now over weight then my mii person expanded and looks down at itself in disgust!!!
ive had a great day today i went to my favourite tea rooms today with my friend and i had a fab sandwich, and fresh pavlova and 2 cola floats! then we got home and sat in the garden until dh got home from golf and went to sil for a bbq!! so lots of food today! all of her friends predicted i will have baby monday! spoke to mum earlier and she said all my nans, hers and my sisters births started with no pain b4 waters popping! so im wondering if i will go the same? if so i will possibly have a wet bed! didnt even think of that possibility!

Chulita · 26/06/2010 20:56

I wish we could sleep with the fan on, DH says it's too noisy and since DD's been waking up every night he's afraid we won't hear her crying. I end up tossing and turning all night cos I'm sweating so much, last night it was 25C at 2am in our room and tonight looks like being the same. They're predicting 30C tomorrow...oh for some rain!

memphis with DD I slept on one of those bed mats for the last 2 weeks in case my waters went...they didn't!

orangefizz · 26/06/2010 21:09

Evening, Can't believe we still have no babies yet! I was so hoping to have popped by now, 39 weeks tomorrow and had DD at 37 + 5 so i'm mentally overdue! My friend had her little girl yesterday, so I am extra impatient now to meet my LO too.

I am also finding its not getting to sleep thats the problem, its when i wake up for the loo at 3am or so, that i just can't get back to sleep for an hour or so, its too warm then - really frustrating. Might try the fan tonight but think it could be a bit noisy.

I have got one of the bed mats under the sheets just in case, as we got a new mattress not that long ago, trouble is I think its adding to the heat as they are plastic-backed.

Having friends over tomorrow for BBQ and the football, hopefully if i keep planning things it will make the baby turn up

nixster28 · 26/06/2010 21:25

Hey ladies, i've got a cylinder fan rather thana circular one and it seems quieter. It also has a timer so i have it on for 1-2 hours then it turns itself off to save electricity. It's half price at the mo in argos too. I'm so excited that we will have our first babies next week and looking forward to seeing some pics. I've been feelin totally hormonal today and really tearful but thinkin it may be me feelin overwhelmed at how much i have to do before baby gets here.

Wonderstuff · 26/06/2010 21:55

Dh just worked out it would be Aug before I got induced if I go overdue - what a depressing thought - I've been focusing on the whole could be any day now thing, with babs engaged and bh happening all the time, the thought that I could still be pregnant a month from now!!

Going to go to bed in a bit - hope I get a better nights sleep - I've been a nightmare today. Going to buy car seat tomorrow.

kkfairybrains · 27/06/2010 00:49

hi ladies. well had to cancel the baby shower.slept about an hour the whole night long and didnt sleep today so really wasnt up to it.was getting very tearyt even at the thoughts of having to entertain people.so my mum, aunt, cousin and her little girl came up to me stil and we've had a lovely relaxing day and night which im far happier with cos at least i can just be comfortable and lie around.and have an awful feeling im not going to sleep again tonight.am wide awake.fed up of it.
memphis you make me laugh your obsessed with going into labour! hope it happens soon with the pain your in though.
kittykat hopefully things dont happen too quick for you.can only imagine how it must feel i wouldnt like that at all.
looks like we're all suffering on the sleep front.39 weeks tomorrow.just want it over!!!!! but in another way im happy to be babyless for another week or 2.if only to catch up on sleep!

Big news ladies....we had a beautiful baby girl last night at 8.40pm. She weighed 6lbs 6oz and was delivered by C-section. Baby decided she didn't want to wait until Tuesday so waters broke at 1.30pm whilst me and DH were wandering around Braehead shopping mall. For those of you interested in moving your labour along I had just been for a pepperoni, pineapple and jalapeño pizza at Pizza Hut
xx

Gracie123 · 27/06/2010 09:01

Woo Hoo! congratulations violet hope you and baby are both well and enjoying lots of cuddles

Just managed to get laptop to work- it crashed the other day and wouldn't stay on long enough to do anything! think the heat is affecting it but what fantastic news to come on to our first baby!

I'm 38 weeks today and although i'm slow and sore i'm really enjoying being pregnant! would be happy to have another week at least like kk i would like a little more time child free and have some time to chill... not really done much relaxing yet although been off work for weeks, been kept busy!

Hospital bags are all packed and organised, got hair appt on tuesday (really hope things dont start while i'm there!!!) as my roots are awful and think it will be a long while after baby is born that i will have a few hours to sit in hairdressers with foils on!!!

gracie i'm like you, want to go on wii fit just before baby is born so i can get lots of praise for it coming off on the other side! lol! i'm finding the hula hoop really helping my hips, only if i go easy and don't try to beat scores tho looking forward to seeing my weight graph come down over next few months got weighed at MW on friday, i have gained 2 1/2 stone since 12 week app and had gained 1/2 stone before that so 3 stone altogether! nixster like you i lost 3 stone before falling pg to got it all to do again and more as still had 2 stone to lose back then! am feeling quite motivated tho, will be a challenge but hopefully the myths about breast feeding are true?
can any of you 2nd and 3rd time mums confirm this? hee hee!

beckyg123 · 27/06/2010 09:41

aw mlic your poor ds hope it doesn't last too long- could the heat be affecting him too?
You turn 30 on my EDD! fingers crossed you go before then and can enjoy a pregnancy free birthday- do you have anything special planned if pregnant or not?

stac14 · 27/06/2010 09:48

Fantast violet can't wait to see the pics. Wow @ your waters breaking in braehead, were you in a shop? At least you were close to the southern general. Ooh our first birth, so exciting.

We had friends in last night, got some lovely gifts. Was awake till 4ish this morning and just woke back up there. Friend is 30wks pregnant with her first and is talking about going early as in anytime now. I had to point out that at this stage it wasnt a good thing to be early. Think its v.wishful thinking on her part.

mlic defo let ds slee, so you can have a rest

kk poor you huni, at least you had a nice night with family. Did you manage to sleep?

Hey to everyone else, how are you all? My eyes are going together and since ds is at my aunts i'm going back to sleep. I'll be back so i can see any pics violets put up. Whats everyone up to today? X

congratulations violet!!!! our 1st baby!!! how exciting, right then ladies thats the 1st one popped form an orderly queue who will be next!!!????

kk yes i am obesessed with giving birth, no one ever thought i would get to 36 weeks so im my head i should be a mummy!! plus my whole family and friend network have been texing and ringing since that point to see if hes here yet. plus im slightly OCD about not being in control and when i go into labour is something that is out of my hands, so if i try everything then i feel like im calling shots still

was up all night ill not sure if its a 24 hour bug or something so i feel tired now, trying to drink like mad to replace fluids, not a good day to be feverish!! were going for a curry later not sure if its a good idea but i will stick to korma as i just fancy naan breads and poppadoms and shop ones arent the same!!

kkfairybrains · 27/06/2010 10:01
