stac i thought i would give the bed one last go and fully expected to end up on sofa but i slept for over 7 hours!! so feel a bit more human again! (i admit i took one of the tablets that doc says could cause drowsyness though, and dh gave me a great massage)
jojo never heard of a galloping heart maybe you could google it? maybe this is the reason puss has been a bit upset recently? would cats protection be able to re home him still if he is ill? this isnt the sort of thing that you want to be thinking about 9 days before cs. i agree on the carpel tunnel, mine goes past elbow and it feels so strange!
my dh is going out for a bike ride with his dad this morning so im going to put all my hospital stuff in my bag, need to clear out boot of car and while they are both out see if the pushchair fits in the boot!]my back is really hurting too, think he has got even lower as pressure in back is imense my dh has to pull me up now as all stregth has gone!
hope you all have a great day x

Emster30 · 20/06/2010 11:31

Everyone's definitely getting to the late pregnancy uncomfortable stage, aren't they! I'm 35 weeks today so a bit behind most of you. I've been waking up the last few mornings with period-type pains which scares me every morning, especially as the baby is very quiet at that time of day, but it eases off once I'm up and about, and then the baby wakes up and starts shifting which reassures me too! Luckily I'm still sleeping fairly well (touch wood) - I hope it at least lasts this week for my last week at work.

Have a good day all!

Gracie123 · 20/06/2010 12:38

I had an amazing nights sleep and finally feel human again!

Still achey with snot and sore throat, but temperature is down and it just feels like a bad cold now.

Decided that beautiful new pram could do with a wash (why? I must be nesting!) so emailed the manufacturers and found out how to properly take it to pieces so that everything goes in the washing machine. My gosh there is a lot of it!!

That or I have a puny washing machine but am on 3rd load of the day and still not even halfway through! It does look beautiful though

little concerned about putting it all back together... Nah, it'll be fine...

Hope everyone is out enjoying the sun. Finally we got some nice sun with a breeze so that we can properly enjoy it!!

Oh no... you mean parenthood isn't always a bed of roses mlic? You poor thing, that sounds horrid. Hope tomorrow is a better day.

Chulita · 20/06/2010 19:31

You can put your DH to bed? I'd love to be able to tuck him away every now and then (not sure on the screaming though...)
Seriously though, we all have days like that mlic toddlers are so unpredictable - hope your ds settles soon!

Just got to massage DH cos he's falling apart, I'll write something interesting in a mo.

I'm so with you on the groin pain - DH and I took DD to the park and I kicked a footie around...first kick and I twanged my back and my pelvis, then got frustrated at how little I can do without hurting so didn't stop and have been crocked ever since. Thankfully a day of not walking/standing very much at all has helped settle it but ARGH! Still can't climb the stairs without pain but at least I can walk now!

Chulita · 20/06/2010 20:15

Is anyone else slightly suspicious that 'you're blooming' is just a polite way of telling a pregnant woman that she's frickin' huge?

DesperateHousewife21 · 20/06/2010 20:53

I feel huge, Ive eaten so much today aswell, Im on my birthing ball but cant get comfy at all.

Im 36 weeks today but feel like Ive got years to go. Everyone keeps saying how fast it'll go by but that makes me more annoyed. This has def been the longest time of my life waiting for this LO. I know it will def be worth it in the end and I really cant wait to meet my little guy.

Plan for this week: finish sorting out hospital bag.

MILC hope ds is better tomorrow - dd actually went down without trouble tonight, but has been a nightmare every night for the last few weeks - she has started to refuse to eat any dinner, then after she has been put to bed will plead hunger. Didn't sleep until 9.45 last night but did sleep in until 8.30 which was amazing. It is exhausting - so looking forward to dd being at nursery tomorrow.

I'm getting loads of braxton hicks - never had them with dd but they are most disconcerting - yesterday they started to be a bit painful as well - I am having so many baths - a couple of friends got me a ton of Lush stuff for my birthday a few weeks ago and has been lovely but I am almost out of bath bombs now - might have to go and restock. I keep thinking the baby might be early, feels like it has gotton a bit lower, got midwife on Wednesday - first time in ages I have seen her, quite keen to see what she thinks, second babies are different aren't they.

chulita not sure about 'you're blooming' I keep getting sympathetic 'you look tired' generally when I'm actually not feeling too bad.

DH and I had a heart to heart earier, our first pregnancy was a mc at 10 weeks, it was due on midsummers day and we named it Summer. We are fairly sure we are having a little boy this time, but if we are wrong and it is a little girl we thought that Summer might be a good name. It was the first time we had talked about the miscarriage since dd was born, was nice to talk.

Watching the Glasto documentry - wish I was going - dd would just love it. Next year.

memphis83 · 20/06/2010 21:23

dh ive just packed my hospital bag and un packed and re packed baby bag, talking to myaelf like a nutter, also went through everything with dh about where stuff is eg extra pad, nappies, vests and babygrows! he asked why i need breast pads as im not going to bf bless him, he didnt realise they will still leak! im with you on the feeling like its been a long 9 months! time has never gone so slowly!
chulita your blooming does mean huge like you look so well when said in that patronising way means you look like shit, when i left hospital i looked dead and went to chemist and bumped into a friend who looks glam all the time and she said wow you look sooooo well! (yeah right love haha!)
mlic hope you get a nice night of peace with no distractions!
we had a bbq today, weather is lovely, got reflexologist again tomorrow, getting lots of pain in my fanjo today and cant stop peeing!!! saw my friend who has a 12 week old today not seen her since baby was 10 days old! she was asking if i had ant stretch marks i said not on my tummy, i was mortified that she said she didnt get any until 39 weeks and now shes covered!!! i was hoping i was home and dry and wouldnt get them on my belly, my hips i can cope with

Chulita · 20/06/2010 21:29

memphis I didn't have any fricking stretchmarks with DD and got them at 40+6 I was livid! If she'd bothered to be born on time I'd be stretchmark free...This time though the ones I've got with DD have just got worse, my stomach looks horrible
The bloke who said I was blooming I think meant "your jubblies are so huge, I can't keep my eyes off your cleavage" One problem with summer tops lol, I'm deffo not blooming in the slightest!

stac14 · 20/06/2010 23:04

hey ladies, totally not blooming here. Is anyone sick of people staring at your bump? I want a sign that says 'yes i'm pregnant now stop looking at me'. Had a nice day today my aunt took ds out so dp and i could get time alone, surprise surprise we ended up shopping for dss's prom stuff. Also checked pram and car chair was great to play for a while. Also like the rest of you i am fed up being pg, the weather is too warm. Ds finishes school this week, the boys are sick of waiting lmao. Anyone do anything nice today? Oh re- stretchmarks my tum looks like an asda tiger roll x

Wonderstuff · 21/06/2010 08:04

LOL at asda tiger roll. My tummy is similar - got away with only a couple on my hips last time, bloomin' covered this time.

DD has gone off to nursery, first day of maternity leave proper today - house is a tip so will probably spend most of the morning cleaning and tidying, then lunch then head out to pick up dd! Might start packing hospital bag.
Dreamt last night that I gave birth in the bathroom, no contractions just all of a sudden baby started coming out - was very strange, woke up just after the head had come out.

Right got to get dressed - dh did shopping on his own this weekend - we have no toilet roll or cereal or cat food.

Gracie123 · 21/06/2010 09:25

I look like a tiger roll too. I didn't get many stretch marks with ds, loads this time - even on my arms and thighs .

DH and I were still in first year of marriage with DS so I got full body massage twice daily. This time I have had maybe two massages for the entire pregnancy, so I blame DH.

Saw dr this morning and was given antibiotics. Can't walk as far as pharmacy to pick them up though, so have to wait for DH to come home for lunch. Having got away with no SPD this time, it's suddenly come on in the last week. Can't get comfortable anywhere and scare to take too many painkillers after last time

hope everyone else is having better days today.

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/06/2010 09:37

I havent really got stretchmarks on my belly, just a couple on the underside but its my thighs/bum/hips that have taken the bashing, they look gross, they keep creeping higher and higher grr!

Its very sunny here at the mo, not sure it'll last. Would be nice though I told DP I'd go into town and register to the GP surgery as Im still registered at my old one and they wont travel to this flat for home visits as its the next town.

What is everyone else upto today?

viksam · 21/06/2010 09:50

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the hayfeaver recomendations. Isnt it weird that some docs can be bothered to look into it and perscribe and others cant. I do like my doc, she was the one that got the ball rolling re infertility so i feel i owe her a lot.

I have had the busiest week and weekend. It was my last week at work and i didnt realise how much hard work it would be to hand over. I also had the boss visit and an Audit on my last day, which was really good in the end as I got a cracking result and the boss gave me a lovely card so left on a real high. Thursday evening went out with work for my leaving do. They brought me a basket FULL of lovely baby stuff and a lovely birthday present. Then my parents came down on friday and Dad did some jobs in the babys room. On sunday we had a family picnic, we have found a place between somerset and brum to meet and we were so lucky with the weather and they brought me a basket FULL of lovely pampering stuff for ME!!! Hurrah!!

Today is my birthday and my DH has just gone to work after giving me some lovely presents. I feel thouroughly spoilt and completly happy! Just waiting for the carpet cleaning man so will make myself scarce for a few hours upstairs while he cleans my carpet and sofa te i guess ill go for a walk in the park while everythings drying. So all in all good times!!! (sorry for being self indulgent!)

Re strech marks, i havent got any yet and i thought i had escaped too but maybe not, i hope so though.

Its Glastonbury this week so its a no go zone around us for a week. Its fine in town but step out 10 mins down the road and ur stuffed for traffic. glasto how do you get on in this week? Do you get a free ticket?? I know some people who live close do due to the inconvenience.
stac I keep catching people looking with a slight look of distaste like my pregnant body is not nice, why is that??
wonder i love it when the house is clean and tidy though, currently my living room is all piled in the conservatory so STILL all up in the air!! we will get sorted over the next few days and Im looking forward to then getting into the babys room and sorting that properly. Then I can think about my hospital bag etc.
You ladies who are a few weeks further on were freaking me out with the hospital bag talk but then i realised that you were a bit further on and i dont really need to panic. Im 36+4 today so got a bit of time yet.....i hope!!
Whats everyone else doing today??
Sorry for the monster post, now im off work i may be able to keep up a bit better. x

Chulita · 21/06/2010 09:59

Happy Birthday viksam! Sounds like you've been thoroughly spoilt lol

I've had my hospital bag packed since 32 weeks just to be on the safe side. Since I've been in twice for monitoring and they threatened to do a cs if lo's heartbeat didn't settle down I think it's wise! I'm only 35+4 so ages to go yet but the bag sits in the car out of the way.

stac I hate the staring too, and what's with the disapproving looks?! Are we supposed to just stay indoors once we start showing

Mondays are one of the boring days, got nothing to do today, it's redders outside again so won't be sat in the garden. I might let DD run around for a bit but her's eczema's really bad so she's been totally greased and if she's out in the sun she'll fry!

NorkyButNice · 21/06/2010 10:24

Happy birthday Viksam!

I am so sick of being pregnant now, especially since the weather is hotting up again which makes me so uncomfortable! Am having real trouble sleeping - it takes me hours to fall asleep at night and I've moved into the spare room to see if that helps (DH not overly impressed!).

I too am bored of having nothing to do - DS is at nursery (thank goodness as I'm certainly not up to entertaining him) but it leaves me lounging on the sofa wondering what to do with myself!

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/06/2010 10:38

Happy birthday viksam!

norky Im the same except I dont have any other DC's so Im even more stuck with what to do!

Im 36+1 today and def want to get my hospital bag sorted this week. I know its summer but still worried about how much clothing to take for LO. Ive packed a vest/bodysuit, sleepsuit, hat and blanket. Will I need anything else for him?

OP posts:
grumpypumpkin · 21/06/2010 10:55

Happy birthday viksam
I start my mat leave "proper" today as well, not been at work last week but had some other work related things to do all week so was out and about all day every day finishing off.

Am so glad as feel so tired, can really see why working right up to the due date would be hard. (I am 36+2).

Not sleeping brilliantly either, it seems that I have started snoring so getting lots of elbows in the ribs, which then makes me not want to snore too loud, which then keeps me awake. Dont want to go in the spare room or have DH in the spare room though, plenty of time for that in a few weeks and feel quite clingy and want loads of cuddles at the mo!!

Having some things done around the house and garden today so need to be in, planning on sitting around in the garden with feet up in the main!!

Have lovely days everyone

kkfairybrains · 21/06/2010 11:31

hey everyone
happy birthday vik sounds like your getting well looked after! its a lovely feeling!
dh you'l need to bring a few vests and sleepsuits for changing him into. especially if he gets sick or anything. and i was told to bring a towel for baby too but dont know if thats only where i am?
just had the most mammoth sleep! went down to my mums on sat night for bbq and ended up bent accross the pillows on my bed most of the night with pains and pressure.everyone was sure something was starting and it was just hilarious listening to everyone getting all excited and i was lying there saying its nothing really but when the drinks are in the sense is out! so was awake loads with that and then went to a festival thing yesterday and watched pig racing! was very funny! felt absolutely crap though as it was soooooooo hot and was in bed by half 9 and only woke at 11 this morn when dp rang! and only 1 wee break! sp hopefully il feel better today xx

Delta4 · 21/06/2010 11:40

Hello all....

Happy Birthday viksam Chulita and stac I am quite sure people look at my huge bump and then try to cover up their amazement at the size of it "Is it still not out then?!??" with "but you look well" When I clearly look like an enormous, fed-up, tired and grouchy whale (or other similarly large animal).

In fact I'm so huge I could not get out of the car in tesco today because the space was not wide enough to open the door enough. arrggh. had to park car elsewhere and stupid other drivers just waiting behind me for me to pull into space and beeping due to impatience at me repositioning car so I could get out. Hate being a crap parker at the mo, but do not have enough flexibility (or ability to carry shopping bags to just take the first space available). arrgh!

Hospital bags etc packed in panic a couple of weeks ago, now repacked and all in car (think I would go mad if I had to keep looking at them!)

Stretch Marks, a few extra ones this time, but not too bad so far....mainly pale/white.

mlic my dd is doing that "I'm hungry" thing as well. Have no idea why...as she isn't. I have just taken to telling her that she isn't, it's time for bed and that she'll be ready for her breakfast in the morning or that she should have eaten all her tea then....feel like awful parent, but if it's not one thing is another.

Hadn't thought I would sound so grumpy....sorry everyone. Just had enough of pregnancy and lots of Braxton Hicks getting my hopes up!

Hope everyone else more cheery than me!

viksam · 21/06/2010 11:47

Thanks for the birthday wishes!!

KK what were the pains do u think? Isnt it lovely that everyone is excited for us now. Im actually really loving it at the moment. I hope u do feel better today, will probably take u a while to come round after such a big sleep, u obviously needed it!!

grumpy I know what you mean by clingy, my DH was away at the weekend camping with the lads and i really missed him, it was only two nights!! Sitting in the garden with ur feet up sounds ace, good for u! What u having done job wise? Its a weird feeling having two people downstairs cleaning whilst i sit on my bed talking to u guys!

I hope everyone else who is at a loose end, finds something to do, sleeping is good, i fancy doing a bit of that myself!!

its strangly quiet downstairs, better pop down see how its going.
xx
