belly bandits are supposed to be excellent ive been looking at them 2, they sonetimes have them on e bay, think they have the same effect as a pair of spanx you just dont have the hassle of pulling it up and down like pants anything that holds your bely in sounds good to me!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/06/2010 09:15

stac I hope your feeling better today, get lots of rest (as Im sure you've been told by everyone!)

Hey everyone, have been rubbish at keeping up with this thread. Hope you're all OK. I only managed to read the last few pages, but for the poster who's friend needs a cervical biopsy for abnormal cells- if she's having a colposcopy then I've had one of these. It was a quick procedure and I got the all clear afterwards, the same as a friend of mine and also my sister in law, so try not to worry. I hope everything goes well for her.

Can anyone tell me whether an increase in Braxton Hicks is an indicator that you may be getting closer to labour? I've had twinges the last couple of days and they're definitely getting more frequent and also a little longer in duration

kkfairybrains · 13/06/2010 10:29

id love to know too mooky as i'v been getting them constantly but last night they were longer and sorer but nothing doing still!
jojo that belly bandit looks brill i'd never heard of it.thanks a mil for that i'll definately be investing!
stac how are you today? maybe you can even do something after the baby is born with the girls? a meet the baby party? just typical thatit had to happen yesterday

nixster28 · 13/06/2010 10:39

Morning ladies
Gracie I don?t know an Evie?s mummy in Ampthill so no coincidence there, that would?ve been weird tho! Your dh?s ex sounds like she was a right bunny boiler! Love the idea of your ds havin rides on ?his go kart?

WWSW Laila is gorgeous, thanks for compliment on Drea really made me smile

Stac poor you hun, cant believe the day you had. Have they given you an idea of how big baby is and does this not make them think about letting you go earlier? You?re about 35 weeks now aren?t you? Hope you are feeling better today.

Kkfairy mooky I have to say the braxton hicks terrify me as every time I have one I think is this it starting??

Hello everyone,
Sorry i havent posted for ages and ages, it seems that every time i log on theres loads to catch up on!!it moves so fast.

Stac What a pisser that u had to cancell ur shower. Will u be rearranging? I was quite jelouse too. How are u feeling now?

Memphis Ur wedding sounds nice, did you manage to hole ur jamtarts in? I see children misbehaving now and all i can think is what well i be like if that was my child, would i deal with it any differently?

anifers So glad u and LO are ok, dont work too hard, u still need to look after urself.

grumpy I can totally identify with ur work feelings, I feel the same.
I have 4 days left and there have been certain developments that mean I have to make 4 people redundant on monday, how bad does that suck!!Im going to hate that. We are going out for my leaving do on Thursday night so should be a good night but not sure how I'll feel in the weeks going forward. I have never been out of work and even though I have LOADS still to do around here I just cant imagine it. There is soooo much change to get our heads around all at the same time, its not suprising that we dont know wether we are coming or going half thae time (well speaking for myself of course)
Right, off to sort the gagare out and hopefully make some space for storage and weed out crap for a car boot.

Have a happy sunday everyone.
xxx

memphis83 · 13/06/2010 14:58

labout pains are apparently different to braxton hicks as they are regular in gaps between pains where as braxton hicks can be 10 mins gap then 25 etc, i think they say more than 6 an hour then start to time the gaps betwwen before calling delivery suite!!
viksam yes there wasnt any humiliating blow off moments at wedding, well not from me anyway, someone did let off in church which made me gag but it wasnt me
had a busy morning cleaning all house has been done apart from mopping, the baby room is clean now i just have to make sure it stays like it!!
got bad acid today my heartburn tablets arent really helping, not really sure how to get rid of it my friend says drink milk but the thought of drinking milk makes me gag! maybe milkshake??

nixster28 · 13/06/2010 15:24

guys all this talk of Belly Bandits and i just happened to find a discount code in this months parenting and pregnancy magazine for 20% at Jellybean website. They sell the Belly bandits for £50 which does seem a bit dear but i s'pose they can be used during pregnancy to support bump and then to hide bulges afterwards. "jellybean site" enter Jellybean1 at checkout to get 20% off

nixster28 · 13/06/2010 15:25

Wow i'm so proud of myself, i did a link.....and it worked

Thanks for the advice, doesn't sound like anything's happening yet then. Probably just wishful thinking on my part as I feel terrible today, really sore hips and knees and weirdly sick. I didn't even feel sick in the beginning so very odd!
How exciting MyLifeIsChaotic my friends and ante natal class seem to be popping out all over the shop too! How did your friend's labour go?

Wonderstuff · 13/06/2010 18:54

mookymoo hope you are feeling better soon.
stac what a nightmare - poor you

Had a lovely day - went swimming this morning - first time in about a year we have taken dd and she had such fun - we have a funky pool with slides and rapids and stuff nearby - dh was happy he got to go on the slides my dd has no fear though, she kept trying to pull my hands away from her telling me 'no mummy I can swim on my own'
Then had lunch out with my dad, bro and his 2 kids for dads bday, which was really nice - roast beef and yorkies - mmm

Last week at work next week - is muftie which is fab - going to be teaching 30 boys how to design computer games we have a week of timetable to do technology with lower school, definitly won't be dull (have a computer tech to help me who hopefully knows what he's doing - he missed the planning meeting so it could be total chaos as I have NO idea - also only know 2 of the boys - wish me luck)

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/06/2010 19:05

Evening all,

Went to bbq at MIL's house, was horrendous, she was drunk and crying and I spent most of the time making sure I wasnt left alone with her! Luckily there was alot of other people there (her 4 DC's and their partners and children).
Feel so tired now, cant wait to go to bed!

Friend had her baby 2 days ago, she was 6 weeks early she is so tiny but very sweet

kittykat77 · 13/06/2010 19:38

Evening everyone.

Haven't had chance to catch up for ages, but finished work on Friday so will hopefully get a bit more time now!

Had a hectic weekend though - had birthday parties today for DD (4) and DS (3) so going to spend the evening relaxing with my feet up.

Don't know about everyone else but am counting the days left, and hoping that this baby might be a couple of weeks early, as it's getting to the point now where I am getting really fed up of being pregnant! Hopefully not too long to go...

jojo am liking the sound of a bellybandit. I was looking at the Agent Provacateur post natal stuff and I would, but it's costs a fortune! I was wondering if just some magic knickers did the same thing but am off to check out that site now Am having a grin at my waist measurement!

mlic wow at your friend having her baby already! My best friend had her little boy 3 weeks early a couple of months ago so I know what you mean about waiting ages... Re belly bandit, this is the site to buy from www.mumstheword.com/products-Belly-Bandit-Original_BEL001.htm the basic is £44.95. Might have a shufty on ebay too.

Hiya viksam nice to see you back

Thanks for the code nixster dh says I have to wait 2 weeks for his pay to go in!

Had a lovely day in the garden and got lots done. Given myself backache but I'll go and have a soak in the bath later in the meantime my cheeky glass of red is helping enormously!

stac14 · 13/06/2010 20:14

hey everyone, i'm fine thanks. Still sore and pretty fed up. One of the mw's was an arse, really rude and acting like i had nothing wrong. Dp was so mad i had to refrain him from saying anything. Anyway they think it was a false alarm or i have an irritated uterous. Either way lo wasnt coming out. You ought to have seen the state of me, i had just had a fake bake which kept getting darker and darker while i was in the hospital. By the time i left i looked the same colour as my hair lol. Anyway baby shower was cancelled but this weekend we're trying for a girly night on saturday. Friend had sashes and everything made up was so gutted for all the trouble they went to. Thanks for all your kind words, your all fab.

jojo this belly band thing can it be used following a c-s?

memphis lol at nearly passing out at the smelly fart. Sounds like you had a nice day though. How you feeling today?

Poor you dh your very patient i'd have left her to it tbh.

mlic know you how feel, the girl across from us had her lo the other day and even though i'm not due technically until july it would be nice for pregnancy to be over iyswim

Hows everyone else? Sorry last posts have been quite selfish i am on my phone and i don't seem to be taking all the info in this way x

stac14 · 13/06/2010 20:20

Welcome back kitty totally agree i'm fed up with pregnancy too. How have you been?

wwsw let us know how you get on with the research about the belly bandit or equivalant knickers

stac trouble is I was left on my own with her once today and she started crying and saying her exP was being horrible (she was drunk) I didnt know what to say and felt I couldnt just get up and leave

mlic yeah she is a nightmare! DP hates her drinking and cant stand being around her when shes like that. I dont think he really wants to go and see her, its just as she lives close he feels he cant not IYSWIM.

OP posts:
WickedWitchSouthWest · 13/06/2010 20:54

hmmm, well the belly bandit looks the most practical as it's corset style without the knickers attached. The Agent Provocateur is £70 this is their maternity range and I so wish I could treat myself!!

mlic cheers! I think it actually has cured my backache. Oo deffo have the reflexology! The woman I went to see when pg with my dd wouldn't do their little magic trick til I hit my due date. And when she did, I had proper contractions for hours afterwards. Unfortunately it all settled but it appears I was still contracting but just didn't really notice as dd turned up about 48 hours later. Whether it helped or not I don't care, it was an hour of total bliss!

memphis83 · 13/06/2010 20:56

mlic let us know about reflexology, my friend who had her baby on friday was 2cm dialated or a week and had 3 accupuncture sessions and 2 reflexology sessions to get things moving and it didnt! she even tried hula hoops on the wii, which i am seriously contemplating so ive set the wii up today!
stac feeling very tired today and my legs really hurt lo has been moving a lot today but had no stomach pains
for people who cant justify price of a belly bandit you can get a pull on panel like you get on bridget jones pants but without the pants bit from underwear shops my friend informed me she got hers from debenhams for about £20.
dh how awful for you at least there were people there so you could stay out the way mil's seem such a pain in the arse generally! the person i was with b4 dh had a half brother and that was it he had no other family what so ever so it was a shock to the system when i met dh!
wonder sounds like you had a great day, the swimming pool sounds brilliant!
going to mums tomorrow but rather than the normal lovely monday with nice lunch and shopping i have to watch her house while an electrician is there and a team of plumbers putting in a central heating system!
i wonder if anyone will have their baby this week? it seems a few know people who are having their babies early so one of us may be next?! (please be me please be me!!)

WickedWitchSouthWest · 13/06/2010 21:05

This is another thread about abdominal wraps

stac14 · 13/06/2010 21:06

thanks mlic i'll go have a look. Lucky you with the pedicure, my heels are shocking

dh i know what you mean hun but it cant have been a good day for you x
