PESH'S thx for the support. My letter to "The Man says Yes" is strongly worded!!!!

I have taped the bug to the letter.

Good morning chapatis - hello from clogland - another 4:30am wake-up call from Captain Pukey Pants. I lost my dinner last night... which I think left my stomach hungry and there's nothing Julian hates more than an empty tummy. Little git.

donttry So glad everything is going well - yes, it could be an interesting 6 weeks around here with people popping all over the place. Care to place a bet as to whom will go first? (book is closed on fanny) curly I feel quite small, I realise I'm probably deluded - but still sleeping on my tummy from time to time and haven't had to let out the waist of my maternity jeans at all. Feet on the other hand have undergone a massive expansion project over the last 4 days and are looking like pudgy little bricks.

silver Stop worrying and start enjoying your food. If you were going to let people boss you around and intimidate you in to becoming a Stepford mummy then you wouldn't have ridden your horsicle at the beginning. Relax and have a Brie sarnie with a bit of rocket salad (from a bag! ) and chase it down with a nice glass of red. You are not going to keel your baybee by what you eat.

skihorse · 09/06/2010 04:05

honey good luck for today, before you go - do you have any gut feeling as to whether it's a girl or a boy?

Cosmosis · 09/06/2010 09:12

good luck for scan honeymoose

reginaMonologue · 09/06/2010 09:51

rots my NCT article suggestions would be:-

  1. What to do if you don't get on with your midwife
  1. Screening - before you check the box...
  1. Big Mama? What to expect for your ante-natal care
  1. Support in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy (because there isn't any!)
  1. Boy, Girl or a surprise? Shopping for a new baby when you don't know the sex (I found this very difficult yesterday because everything was blue or pink or shades there of).

moo good luck with the scan today!

ski it will be an interesting month or 2 for sure with PESH poppage, though being last on the list for delivery makes me sad cos you lot will be too occupied with baybees by the time I'm even 6 months to have time to post! BOO!

skihorse · 09/06/2010 10:06

reggie Julian has a couple of babygrows with a distinctly "pink" element about them. In my defence I always thought he was a boy but people kept telling me I was having a girl... You're not last anyway - polly is having the Messiah! There is also another BESH girl who is about six weeks I think who is in De Nile and not yet ready to come over to PESH. Shopping for neutrals is bloody hard though.

Speaking of polly - I was thinking about your saying Boo slept from 7-7 - what was your secret/drug? Did you do anything special or was she just lovely and chilled? Do you think it's because you and TG are very easy-going chilled out people?

Cosmosis · 09/06/2010 10:40

Been meaning to say

a) tummy button is no longer an inny - but neither is it an outy yet, it seems to currently be a flatty.

b) will post Artie 3d scan pics in tother place tonight.

c) agree with shopping for neutrals. Unless you want plain white it seems v hard.

CurlyCasper · 09/06/2010 10:42

morning all

ski I am of sleeping on belly. I can only do that with a construction of about eight pillows below/around me.

moo hope scan goes well.

reg thanks for suggestions. Having thought about it, I'm thinking of:

  • Asking people for their experiences on the available tests (eg Nuchal), reasons to choose to do or not do, feelings following results, how it affects the pregnancy in the first trimester and early 2nd.
  • Different types of birth options and why you may "have" to be limited to one type (eg consultant-led), and when you may have options eg MW unit or HB.
  • Father's experience of HB (anyone's OH prepared to write anything after the event?)
  • What to expect in the first trimester as after POAS it all seems to be a big anti-climax.

What do you think?

honey enjoy the scan.

dont YES! You're so right! They just feel grumpy and don't know why so don't just randomly sleep! Until they're older - 3 ish - when they fall asleep in their dinner which is hilarious. Very good point.

rots · 09/06/2010 11:25

apparently it IS ok to pee in the shower!

CUNextTuesday · 09/06/2010 11:29

rots How about 'Symptoms They Never Tell You About'.

How about 'How to Negotiate on Names Without Resorting to Violence'

Clearly they may need to be cushioned in more sensitive language but the topics are worthwhile!

rots · 09/06/2010 12:01

Still having name probs cunty?

Cosmosis · 09/06/2010 12:12

also jelus of front sleeping. I can only sleep on my left, can't get comfortable in any other position. and I'm BORED OF IT.

we are sorted re names. TGO was bullied came back round to my way of thinking

SilverSky · 09/06/2010 12:40

My belly button is totally flat. Husband says. One is not normal anyway!

Don't think it will pop out as nothing to pop. It really is that flat.

CUNextTuesday · 09/06/2010 13:47

rots things are improving. I have my surname issue sorted and this morning, Hom approved my girl's name, quite out of nowhere (he gave me a point blank 'no' last night). Just the boy's name to work on now

skihorse · 09/06/2010 14:11

Has anyone read the mortifying pregnancy story thread? It's fantastic - although it may cause you to pee yourself.

Does eating three large raisin and oatmeal cookies make you:

a) a purveyor of fine bakeryness from Saino's

b) raving hungry preggo

c) fat pig who is using baybee carrying as excuse to stuff chops?

Please bear in mind that these are not indulgently sinful chocolate calorie ridden cookies but healthy raisin and oatmeal slathered in butter cookies.

CUNextTuesday · 09/06/2010 14:40

All three I reckon

Everytime I go out of the house now I fancy my waters are going to break in some spectacular manner. Hom is now concerned whenever I leave the house on my own in case something happens whilst I'm out. It must be nearly time.... and yet it still feels so far away

SilverSky · 09/06/2010 15:13

Wot you need is a nappy!?

rollerbaby · 09/06/2010 16:13

It's a boy!! Could tell after 1.7 seconds! Har har. Little monkey was so gorgeous. Drinking champagne... More later!!!!!

OP posts:
OkieCokie · 09/06/2010 16:25

Excellent news!! your instinct was correct! But what was the later tinker doing drinking champagne?? You are starting him well young.

CUNextTuesday · 09/06/2010 16:27

Great news moo

So out of everyone that knows, it's only ghostie that's having a girl right? This must narrow my odds yes?
