OkieCokie · 09/06/2010 16:35

Yes I reckon Cunty. Maybe for me too.

reginaMonologue · 09/06/2010 17:11

ski ah, poo isn't on the NOT LIST, which by the looking of it will need to be updated in 148 posts time, so you need to provide me entry with something suitably scathing, you have a knack for these things . For what it's worth - according so google there is a good chance I've already made my baby gay because of stress, so if it's a boy feel free to pass over Julian's pink attire! And also, that mortifying pregnancy stories thread is hilarious, I wasted at least 30 minutes looking at that then billed the client for my time .

rots I'd say from your list, defo options 1, 2 and 4 because they've all directly affected me and I suspect many others too. Can't help on the HB one though cos I've not been there or got the t-shirt, but happy to pass over thoughts on the others if you like.

silver if it's got oats it's healthy in my view ...

moo so pleased with your scan results! I keep referring to mine as a he, so I wonder if it's a sign...? Woman's intuition and all of that... oh well I'll find out soon enough!

I'm having pie and chips for tea....

Who ate all the pies?
Who ate all the pies?
You big preggo!
You big preggo!
You ate all the pies!

(Well me, but you get the drift...)

rollerbaby · 09/06/2010 17:13

oh and the other biggish news is that I'm 2 days out and actually due on 31st October. can someone tell the list-compiler please? Halloween!!!

Lying down on sofa. Can't even finish a glass of fizz now... lightweight or wot.

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 09/06/2010 17:34

Hello all,

Just coming out the other end of the work crazy, and hoping the baby is not now a junky for serotonin or whatever the stress hormone is.

The bug in the tin of pears is just revolting! Will you ever feel the same about pears? Or tins? Or bugs for that matter? Not sure how useful the life-time supply of tins in compensation will be, but well done silver for sellotaping it to the letter - that should give them something to think about.

Honey a boy! How exciting! Wow, I really hope I find out next week as well. In the meantime, the movements have stepped up another notch. I feel them really frequently and boyfy could even feel them as well (so not imagining..) and it's really lovely and very reassuring.

CurlyCasper · 09/06/2010 17:52

Hurray for a Halloween boy moo! (I am married to one of those - so highly recommended!)

Someone else better have a girl, there just won't be enough of mine to go round at future PESH meets

My man is back on UK soil - just a few more hours till he is by my side (probably fast asleep)

So, having rejected it from my life for several years, am I about to become a 2010 Big Brother follower? I expect the audience for that show contains many insomniacs preggos/nursing mothers/women on maternity leave with nought else to do. What do you all reckon? Over the last week I have watched about four films, two series of Dr Who and a few episodes of Torchwood and Buffy, as well as some of the usual telly offerings. I need something to fill my lazy arse hours.

I probably shouldn't voice this here (or anywhere) but I have a very uneasy gut feeling about this baby being prem - to the extent that I want the house sorted before Monday's consultant appointment in case anything should be discovered. I can't explain it and I am not really sure where it has come from (other than perhaps talk of fetal growth restriction) but I have gone beyond wanting a 37 weeker to really fearing having a 34/5 weeker. Probably just third tri neurosis... and now that I have shared what I have been holding in, I'm probably going to go to 42 weeks

Backinthebox · 09/06/2010 18:45

Cas calm down! I had a hind water leak at 36 weeks and spent the next 3 weeks on tenterhooks, and then the next 2 and a half weeks after that cursing the little madam for getting my hopes up she would be early.

Halloween baby! You can call him your little pumpkin forever now

Everyone eat all the pies and cakes you can lay your hands on - you are eating for 2 remember? (I know that's a myth, but hey, who needs the extra stress of worrying about your weight when you are pregnant?)

Racehorse had managed to notch up his first ememrgency vet call out in an impressively short period of time. He hasn't been here 4 weeks yet. He jumped out of the field with all the new grass in last night and into the concrete yard (Why? ) and managed to impale himself slightly on something. As I am still mystifed as to what the 'something' is I had no idea how deep his hole in the side was, so I called the vet. It was the charming Aussie vet, not the scary German lady or the 2 older partners, so that was worth it. And even better, he gave me his mate's phone number who had said to him 'if you ever come across another big handsome hunter for sale like the one you found me last year, give me a call.' So I will be calling him to bug him about buying big horse, who is starting to outstay his welcome a bit now. Poor boy!

Cosmosis · 09/06/2010 18:45

Please to be admiring Artie, pics now up on tother place.

OOOOH moose a halloween boy! exciting!

curls I reckon this other boy means that me and iggs and cunty must all be having girls - i've been saying Artie is a girl for a while anyway, although TGO thinks boy.

Backinthebox · 09/06/2010 18:47

Oh, and Cas, you don't HAVE to watch Big Brother. Get Sky Living and watch all the birth programmes instead, and then vow never to behave in labour like all the Americans on the programme.

CurlyCasper · 09/06/2010 18:51

Thanks boxy. I really miss having Discovery Home and Health. We had Virgin at the old place but are now stuck with BT Vision, which is basically Freeview accompanied by a large call-up library that includes very little baby stuff. Mind you, I think I had seen every episode of some of the US birth programmes already anyway!

Hope you get both horses sorted

I am off for a gander at the cos child...

skihorse · 09/06/2010 19:44

Congratulations honeymoo on your Halloween bundle of joy - if it helps get your head around it, the FOUR of us conceived last year round about halloween! woooooooeeeeooooooh.

I am a bit - just back from a further 4D scan and I think we've found the source of my sickness/uneasiness and general queasiness and change of shape over the last few years. Julian (the bastard) is now breech. He's got a week to turn or I'm getting sun-roofed. Bit shocked by it all really. He's spent the last 4 weeks head down, spot-on and now he's fucking with me.

casper I've enjoyed BB when I've had it - although obviously it started after I'd moved to Yurp - so I only saw it the few years I had a satellite dish.

reggie When is your 20 week scan and are you planning on getting the sex?

curly Your little girl has competition from donttry and cheggers - I've also got money on iggy having a girl. But yes, with all these boys around little ghost will have her pick!

Cosmosis · 09/06/2010 19:47

ski the little git!!!

Do some mn searching / googling re position changing, am sure there are things you can do to try and get him to move.

skihorse · 09/06/2010 19:55

cossie Yes, apparently down on all 4s will help. Which is probably what got me in to this mess - having spent the weekend scrubbing the carpet.

Btw - cheggers if you're lurking - your photos are wonderful - and I know it's a dumb question... but is your dad's brother THE Mr. Cheggers? They look so alike y'see but I don't want to be a twat and ask on your fb.

SilverSky · 09/06/2010 20:07

cossie uber cute small person. Totally amazing!

Fellow livery is borrowing neddy on Sunday for her mate to hack out with. All will be fine and will do him good, it's just the controlfreaking nutter caring owner in me that is slightly nervous. Don't really need to worry as fellow livery knows I will break her bleeding legs if anything happens to my bestest horse. Ok so I only haz one but you knows.....

backbox bloody nags! They are sent to test us for sure. Can you get your farrier to put advert up in his van?

Currently catching up with the hot toddy that is Luther. Last episode. Bit of a nail biter non?

I will attempt Big Bro tonight, not that I have watched it for two years. I will reward myself with sweet popcorn whilst checking out the eye candy admiring the new house.

Congrats bovine on the little boy!

Ps man at work has chosen baby name and its not one of ours.

Cosmosis · 09/06/2010 20:27

ski just re-read that, and think it's a bit odd they're only giving him a week to turn? You are what - 34 weeks now? Surely he has 4 more weeks at least to turn??

SilverSky · 09/06/2010 20:28

Regarding Fellow livery borrowing neddy, it should read:

Don't really need to worry as fellow livery knows I will break her bleeding legs be a more than a smidge upset if anything happens to my bestest horse. Ok so I only haz one but you knows.....

ski nightmare! Would a quick whirl on a rollercoaster not put the little blighter in the right position!?

CurlyCasper · 09/06/2010 20:44

ski I am also confused about them making that decision so soon most things I have read/heard talk about babies only starting to get into position from 34 weeks. we're only just into the 35th, so he should have plenty of time. Are they a bit c-sec happy over there?
Hope the little blighter flips soon, of course.

And of course, we have at least three more PESH girls already born - and those twins have got to be a match for any girls!. I defo think iggy is having a girl...

cossie those pics are amazing. Artie is very cute. Must've been a great experience.

I have been working on what I need to ask consultant on Monday. I'm trying not to walk away from yet another appointment with more questions than answers. Wish I didn't turn into a weak pile of mush in hospitals.

cunty meant to say I'm glad you have the name thing almost sorted. I had managed to somehow miss all that and only caught up this avo.

SilverSky · 09/06/2010 21:01

Can the PESH in charge of list change me date to 18th Oct??? Tho I still reckon going on my dates, the little person will not pitch up before 21st.

OkieCokie · 09/06/2010 21:04

Cas I remember saving a whole series of 24 to watch while "labouring" at home thinking it would take my mind off stuff and make the time pass quicker, I got about 20 mins into the first episode! I still have not watched it!

Ski the little blighter! Get scrubbing floors and sit permanently on a ball

Nice pics cosmo - i find them amazing! Anyone else have their 20 week scan later than 22 weeks?? Mine is scheduled for 22+4.

donttrythisathome · 10/06/2010 00:45

Yeah rots I didn't realise at first that they shouldn't be awake more than 2 hours really so merrily left her stay awake all hours. Mind you still can't get her to sleep...

ski also surprised re the sunroof deadline - the little blighters can turn mid labour I believe!! Anyway a good midwife can deliver breechies naturally (if painfully...), get thee to the swimming pool and do headstands. Also check out http://spinningbabies.com/techniques/the-inversion this site for "inversions".

Cunty I also did those minute exercises with my doula/yoga teacher. Only holding the arms out to the side for 4 minutes or so rather than the ice. I thought they helped. The main thing is just to breathhhhhhe isn't it, especially long out breaths?

donttrythisathome · 10/06/2010 00:49

this site

skihorse · 10/06/2010 06:43

Sorry everyone, I didn't explain myself very well at all. He's not going to be whipped out next week - she said that he's only got a week to turn - which actually seems a little short - given that they can turn later than that. It will however be a sun-roof if he doesn't turn - fine by me, I'm not pushing feet out first. They keep telling me how much fluid I've got so this has got to be a good sign that he's got room to turn back down. I was just a little shocked by it all and wondered if it were a sign of things to come. I've gone from having this wonderful little boy who posed so beautifully for his 30 week 4D scan to a monster who has behaved progressively worse over the last 10 days (3 x 4D scans) leading up to his piece de resistance of turning upside down. I am looking forward to him turning 13...

My shape has changed - does that make sense? I now stick up more under my bra - well, that'll be his fat head then. Feet on the bladder? Not so great really. I was woken in the night by a lot of movement, some of it painful - so perhaps he's turning again already. I will have a poke later and I've got mw next week anyway.

Thank you muchly for the site donttry, I'll see what I can do with him - I don't fancy him being manhandled down.

Cosmosis · 10/06/2010 09:20

ski I didn?t think you meant he?d be whipped out next week, but I don?t get why they?re only giving him a week to turn before deciding on c-section ? when they could have you in for c-section in 4 weeks, but he?d have turned back again?

OkieCokie · 10/06/2010 09:45

Exactly Cos, perfectly put.

CurlyCasper · 10/06/2010 09:50

what cos said. That was my interpretation too.

SilverSky · 10/06/2010 10:13

ski you crack me up!!

I am now sleeping with a pillow under my slightly enlarged belly and hip which is much nicer and comfy for sleeping on my side.

I am wondering when I will hit the blooming stage, if at all or am I already and just to thick to realise ?
