penguin well done for updating the list. Great idea to link to the TTC thread rather than having to update the futures section all the time.

I've added MrsW's EDD

Oneof8 If you're insane then I am too. I didn't really feel like the pg was real until I started to feel the first flutters of LO moving. I felt kind of detached at my first scans as although I could see a baby, I couldn't feel him in there, and I almost felt like the pictures on the screen could belong to anybody Hmm

I think roses has a doppler, although she hasn't posted for a while

Hermya It's great to hear you finally feel like you're blooming - you've had such a hard time of it so far. I think I'm heading in the opposite direction - I spent the whole second trimster bursting with energy and feeling great. Now I'm officially into the third trimester I can feel my energy levels dropping and I'm starting to develop all the pg symptoms i've been lucky to avoid so far

fudge hope you're ok, I'm thinking of you every day.

Well my GTT was a bit traumatic - I'm not entirely sure the person taking my blood had done it many times before. It took him 3 attempts to find a vein and then he spent so long messing around that the vein collapsed when he had only collected half as much blood as he needed. Hopefully he managed to get enough to get a result, otherwise I have to go through it all again Angry And he forgot one of the tubes for my tests, couldn't reach it while still holding the needle, so he got me to hold the needle in my own arm while he went off to get it Shock It's a good job I'm not squeamish or needle phobic.

Hi all, just got back from the first meeting with the midwife and it was rather boring. She got me my 12 week scan (31 August - I'll only be 10+5.) and arranged to come to my house a week later to take blood and a urine sample and to talk about the pregnancy more. I got a whole pile of stuff to read but on first glance it looks a bit confusing so I might go back to it at the weekend. 13 days to scan day! I might actually tell someone I'm pregnant after that.

bunny I hope your results all come back clear. That sounds like an ordeal, defiantly a good thing you are happy with needles.

lucky I hope you are ok - I don't think we've heard from you since your pom poms came out for my BFP.

hermya Glad to hear you are feeling good!

I've added my EDD to the list. I hope I don't break the link at the bottom.

Argh I broke it. Can someone fix it? Or just refer to the list bunny did but with my EDD? Thanks!

Ozziegirly · 19/08/2010 01:19

Hello everyone.

Bunny your GTT sounds a bit traumatic!

Hermya I'm really pleased you're feeling so well. It can last, I still feel good at 39 plus 3!

I had a Dr appt yesterday and she examined me, and basically said she thought it very unlikely that I would go into labour naturally before my due date as the cervix is still totally closed and high and Pip hasn't descended or engaged at all.

So I am booked in for the induction on Tuesday night and she has indicated that it's quite likely that I will end up with a c-section if the cervix stays so unfavourable as they won't be able to break my waters.

I feel very calm about this actually - just keen to meet Pip and although a natural birth would be nice, with the diabetes there was always a risk of a c-section.

But the fun thing is, he'll be here by Wednesday next week!

aly323 · 19/08/2010 04:18

Ozzie, that's so exciting!!!!!

bunnygirl80 · 19/08/2010 04:23

ozzie I'm unbelievably excited that you'll have your baby by this time next week GrinGrinGrin

Spring seems to be very much in the air here today.....I had lots of things planned but am sitting out in the garden enjoying the sun instead.

I bought the car seat yesterday, but I can't even begin to understand the instructions for actually installing it in the car. Will head off to a fitting station a bit closer to my due date to let a professional do it instead. Thankfully my maternity hospital has a fitting station onsite for the really disorganised Grin

Hermya321 · 19/08/2010 07:46

Ozzie Thats so so exciting!!! [girn]

OP posts:
NovemberAli · 19/08/2010 09:08

Ooh exciting Ozzie! Wishing you an enjoyable last week of pregnancy and hope all goes well next week.

I've started to get some twinges and aches I've not had before, thinking they're due to the size of the bump now and the fact the baby's dropped, I think walking to work every day this week hasn't helped though! Last two days now before mat leave!

Spirael · 19/08/2010 11:04

Oooh, it's getting pretty close now, Ozziegirly! Soon there'll hopefully be enough people to start the First Time Frolicking Parents thread in Post-Natal. Wink

Hope everything is going ok with everyone. :) Things are still fine here, Mindy turned 6 weeks yesterday! She's still not smiling yet, but is nearly there, I think. However she's now grown out of all her 0-3 month clothes by length, so is in to her 3-6 month sleepsuits. Shock Where has my tiny baby gone?

Breastfeeding is still going ok, it does seem to be getting easier so it is worth persevering. :) She feeds quicker and less often now, so I don't feel quite so glued to her or like I'm just a dairy cow. I can even express some extra, so DH gives a feed in the evening, which he loves, and means I get to play on the XBox360 for a couple of hours!

We've been battling with thrush a bit, but I think we're winning. Sleeping is getting easier too, as we're starting to get a routine going. Though Mindy broke it last night - but in a good way! She slept from 10pm until 5am. That's 7 hours!! :O

Now if I could just train DH to stop waking up at 3am, and disturbing me as he goes to the bathroom... Wink There is hope that I may yet get a full night of sleep for the first time in 6 months!

Ozziegirly · 19/08/2010 12:05

Thanks guys! It is really exciting that it's so soon. I can't wait to meet Pip and get on with being parents.

bunny we had our seat professionally fitted too, and it was $30 well spent as it looked like a right palava and she was huffing and puffing and climbing all over the back seat! She also will adjust the straps at no extra cost when Pip is 6 weeks old. It's fun driving around with the seat in the car!

Spirael I'm so pleased it's going so well and amazing how much she has grown in 6 weeks! Really pleased breastfeeding is going well too, I might have to come to you for tips! I am pretty determined to breastfeed but know that you have to try hard and keep at it.

My In-laws arrive in about 5 weeks and so I am planning on using this time to introduce some EBM once a day as everyone has said that being able to give them a bottle is SO much handier as other people can help out with the occasional feed.

felicityFlick · 19/08/2010 13:35

bunny we have resurrected your prime number theory over on the other thread :)

Good luck Ossie!! Very exciting.

Glad your appointment went well flo and that you are blooming hermya! :)

Big waves to all the lovely grads xx

Hermya321 · 19/08/2010 18:13

Spirael Oh it's so cool to hear that you and Mindy are doing well.

Hello Flick how are you?

Ozzie Oh wow, I bet it feels really real now.

I've been looking round nurseries today, although they were nice I'm not sure if they're really suitable for little baby. I'm planning on going back to work once he's six months old. I think a childminder maybe more of a less harsh option for my own peace of mind.

OP posts:
bunnygirl80 · 19/08/2010 23:38

November hope you're enjoying your last few days at work

spirael it's lovely to hear how well you and Mindy are doing. I can't believe she's already into her 3-6months clothes.

ozzie I'm starting to realise that $30 for a proper car seat fitting will be good value for money considering the damage trying to fit it ourselves would probably do to our marriage Smile

flick How are you? I'd forgotten about the prime number theory.....although it wasn't just me that thought of it. I just noticed people got BFPs on cycles 1,3, 5 and 7 and it expanded from there Smile

hermya I've started researching nurseries this week, and I'm start to have a major wobble about putting LO into daycare at 6 months. I'm going to put his name on the waiting list anyway, but I think we're probably going to get a nanny until he's old enough to want to play with the other children at nursery

CurlyCasperBaggedABairn · 20/08/2010 07:26

GOOD LUCK OZZIE! xxx

spir glad all is going well - and huge congrats on your girl. how different they all are! my baby is eight weeks but not even properly in 0-3 months yet! she's only just over 9lbs though.

good wishes to you all - my promises to keep up have been thwarted by this beautiful girl, known on mn as Squeaker Smile

MrsWajs · 20/08/2010 11:08

Wow ozzie can't believe you will have your baby by this time next week!! Ok actually that sounds a bit silly but you know what I mean!! Good luck, I hope it all passes quickly!

I conceived on cycle 11 which I think helps the theory along a little bit!

Well this morning I woke up and my (.)(.)'s feel weird!! One is bigger and kinda jelly like - totally freaked me out, I've always had a pretty small chest so not sure how I'm gonna take to having a bigger one!! Glad something physical is starting to happen tho as I'd still had no symptoms up til now!

Ariesgirl · 20/08/2010 12:25

Very belated congratulations MrsW. I was very pleased to see you had a BFP, knowing how long you'd been trying. I have kind of stopped posting for the moment - I'm not very proud of myself, but I never seem to be getting anywhere and it's very tough seeing names come in and go out again as they are successful and I'm not. I know that's horrible, but I did want to congratulate you especially.

MrsWajs · 20/08/2010 22:26

Aww thanks Aries that means a lot :) I noticed you'd been a bit absent recently but then again with lots of newcomers it does seem to have become pretty busy and fast-paced all of a sudden!
I understand what you're saying about people coming and going - it is hard. But I'm sure it will be your turn very soon and thanks for thinking of me! Grin

fudgecat · 22/08/2010 12:25

Hi all

Sorry I haven?t been about but im back in hospital again. Had another bleed the morning of my scan that was 2 weeks ago and was admitted. Got scanned and splodge had lost weight Sad. Got sent to labour/delivery in the early hours of the following morning as I was getting tightenings every 5 mins but they eased off and went back up to the ward. Very scary. Had another scan last Monday and they have found a mass behind the placenta which they think is a fibroid and that could be an explanation as to why the placenta isn?t working. Splodge is still hanging on but still not at the 500g mark. Got another scan tomorrow. The hospital have let me out for the afternoon so thought I would give you a quick update but have to go back in a few hours.

x

kkas · 22/08/2010 12:44

our thoughts are with you in this difficult time fudge great news that splodge is still hanging in there. you are an inspiration to us all!

Hermya321 · 22/08/2010 13:32

Oh Fudge my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Great news that little Splodge is hanging on in there, s/he is a little fighter.

OP posts:
WorrisomeHeart · 22/08/2010 14:35

fudge thanks so much for the update, you've been in my thoughts a lot recently. Fab to hear splodge is still hanging in there. Hope you're doing ok too. Can they do anything about the fibroid? All the best to you and Mr Fudge.

ozzie can't believe you're so close!! Good luck!!

Not much news from me, Mr Teeny is still the wrong way around but I'm feeling a lot more chilled about it now. Only 3 more weeks at work and because of annual leave / bank holidays and working from home days, I actually only have to go into the office for 9 more days - yeeha!

Went to see Toy Story 3 today and sobbed at the end - i'm sure it's just hormones! Grin

NovemberAli · 22/08/2010 17:56

So glad to hear Splodge is still fighting for you Fudge, will be keeping you in my thoughts and hoping for that weight gain.

bunnygirl80 · 22/08/2010 19:41

fudge I'm glad to hear Splodge is still fighting. I'll be praying you see some weight gain at your next scan

I'm away at work this week so will probably be reading and not posting ofr a few days, so i'll take the opportunity now to wish ozzie good luck for Tues/Weds. Make sure you come back and tell us all how fab motherhood is Grin

Ariesgirl · 22/08/2010 21:45

All the best Fudge. Sounds scary - I hope you're coping ok.
