Here we go, pull up a deck chair, catch some rays and help yourselves to a mini eggs ice cream.

hermya check BP as that can cause dizziness!

Ok people I need a drumroll.....

I got my prescription form this morning and a free prescription! Sent the form off now for the proper one. Loads of mix up in GPs where the MW had left the form as it shouldn't have been left there etc. Chemist said they would have gave me it now as I have such a bump anyway but at least I can claim the previous ones!

shieldbug · 22/04/2010 11:35

Nymph My word, I bet that feels like a blinking relief doesn't it. Only took them forever and a day didn't it.

Happy birthday AfabT! Happy Belated birthday Hermya!

Congratulations on the prescription stuff nymph!

Was sat in a very boring meeting earlier and felt movement. Was like squirming, was very specific and something I had to concentrate on, so no wonder they say it takes a while to register kicks especially with a first.

Nymphadora · 22/04/2010 14:41

Hermya still have to wait for it to come back though. At least I'm now fat enough to qualify

KSal · 22/04/2010 15:27

just got a call from DH as the results of our combined test came back.... drumroll... 1 in 16000.

I'm very happy as last time it was bit high and i was convinced it would be higher this time.

jennimoo · 22/04/2010 15:37

ksal congrats on nice high number, it is a relief isn't it?

nymph so glad you've got the exemption form at last, I've been fuming on your behalf about that one as it seems so unfair!

I've just come back from the doctor at my new surgery (as I've moved house, and they didn't know how to refer me to the midwife without me seeing the doctor first...) Turns out I now have to wait weeks to see the midwife, as I'm now 'in her book' and have to wait for a phone call before I can even book an appointment. I'm desperate to hear that little heart beat again, as am still not really believing everything is OK in there, despite the fact I think I can feel a wriggly baby...

shieldbug · 22/04/2010 15:59

Very jealous of all those who can feel a wriggly baby. At the most, I've had a "fizzy feeling" but it could just as easily have been wind!

You know how dps are meant to be supportive and all that? Well, I had just bought a new maternity top, of which I was rather proud, and showed it off to dh. He announced I looked like Jo Brand. No insult to the fabulous Jo, but I'm normally half her size, so this didn't go down too well. Even worse, when I was lying naked in bed (we won't go into details!) he said I reminded him of Buddah! So much for "I still fancy you darling, no matter how huge you are"! At least his eyes light up when he sees how massive my boobs have become.
At least I think he's winding me up (I hope!)

KSal · 22/04/2010 17:02

2 days ago i was sure i could feel the baby, but i haven't felt anything since then.... my rational side says this is fine as its early days... the irrational side is wondering if something is wrong... pregnancy could really drive you bonkers!

Katy86 · 22/04/2010 17:49

lilmiss i love your scan pic!

ILGH go for both scans...i am

I find out the se in eactly one week!!! sssoooo ecited and i will only be telling you guys on here, think ill keep it secret from everyone else.

I hope everyone is well!

Loving hearing all the baby movements! cant wait for mine to start properly!

Also if anyones looking for maternity clothes i found some great ones in H&M and they werent that expensive.

xxx

AbFabT · 22/04/2010 18:08

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Elsa.
I am officially nearer 40 than 30 now.

sophie, I browse the babyname forum ALL the time! I am obsessed. Weird, as I've had the names picked out for my children for years, DH approves of them (I know - I am exceptionally lucky!), so we are all set! What about you?

Hermya, glad to hear your baby is kicking!

Ooh, floozie, what is your top tip?! Hope you win! (What's the prize?)

Roo, lovely to have put a face to your name! And I like your DH's long hair - my own sports a slightly longer style (I have photos up too) and I love it! He's also had it chopped since the wedding, but it's still got some length.

Katy86 · 22/04/2010 18:18

Roobear as Abfab says lovely to put a face to the name hadnt thought of putting a pic up of myself lol only put the DD up lol ill do that now

and ABFAB HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I hope you have had a wonderful day! and hope you have been very spoilt

x

sam12 · 22/04/2010 18:23

I don't know if I am just been a bit thick here but how do you all know figures for your test results? what are they for? what do they mean? why haven't I been given anything like that? Sorry but its all new to me!

Katy86 · 22/04/2010 18:29

sam12 i got mine back the day i had my scan the main one is your risk of a baby with Downs. So my scan results plus my blood results means my chances of having a baby with downs is 1:20247. Did they take blood from you the day you had your scan? Thats when they took mine so it was on my scan report that they give you after the blood comes back...does that make any sense?

xx

sam12 · 22/04/2010 18:50

Kind of- I had my scan done and they gave me the report straight away- and then I went down the corridor to have my bloods done. I have had a letter since to say that my risk of downs is low but there was no figures on it- but is reassuring to know that I haven't missed out on something that I should have had. Thank you Katy xx

Katy86 · 22/04/2010 18:52

ok your hospital must do it differently but if it says your risk is low then dont worry or ask if you really want to know the actual figure. If you have missed out on any other test then so have i because thats all ive had xx

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 22/04/2010 18:54

Happy birthday abfab! Congrats to all those with results through, what a relief

hermya: I'm v jealous of you feeling little one move, I'm desperately trying not to head of to the mw for a reassurance check. With ds I was working so could ultrasound myself at any point- I miss that oppertunity!

I love GH: we are getting ready for the deabate tonight too. It's dh's research area so we have every media channel running, but I've hogged the tv for in the night garden

I'm eating the contents of my fridge #nickcleggsfault

Hermya321 · 22/04/2010 19:10

Ksal I've had this as well, sometimes it can be a while between movements. Our LO's are so little and they have a lot of space in there so I think that they can sometimes turn themselves around and kick the back of the womb where we can't feel it as much.

Has anyone thought of getting a dopler, I've seen a few on ebay and have been wondering if I should get one.

SilverSky · 22/04/2010 19:34

Starting to feel very self conscious at work about my looks (gut not face!). I am sure nobody takes as much notice of us as we think they do.

However, colleague said to me today (as I was eating some more Jelly Tots) "you are always eating......... something nice". Translate as "you fat lardy moo", which normally I would take offence at but as it was all I could do to retort with well I am preparing for hibernation you know!

Also just saw red in Asda's. Told the staff how rubbish they are. I felt so much better for it I must say. I recommend it as therapy.

Right, I better walk this dog. Esp now that I have eaten!

RooBear · 22/04/2010 19:46

i didn't have any bloods taken when I had my scan, does this mean I was low risk? katy your DD is soooooo cute! abfab your wedding looked amazing, my DH did have hair as long as that but its chopped off now, it makes him look even younger! (hes 22)

Nymphadora · 22/04/2010 20:40

Happy Birthday abfab

I am so argumentative ATM am desprate for election canvassing!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 22/04/2010 22:24

Well, I slept through the debate. Lucky I taped it.Joy. Off to bed to sleep now (or lie awake with reflux all night probably).

Happy birthday abfab

AbFabT · 22/04/2010 23:11

Thank you, Katy, SeaShells, Nymph and ILGH. I had a nice day (long story short but my work situation is actually awful, very stressful (not the actual work, but the people), and I got signed off today on Work-Related Stress by the GP for two weeks, which is a relief, and it means I at least had a good day today at home not being subjected to the nastiness at work, so that was great). DH called me today from work saying he'd got me a wee present, just a wee something (he is Scottish!) and I wasn't expecting anything as I am not a very presents person, we have enough stuff, but he turned up after work with a Wii!!!!! Get it! He was so pleased with his cunning and play on words, and I hadn't twigged at all! So been doing a bit of the dance thing, and balancing, and it's great. Going to do some Yoga and feel nice and trim. Shame it's going to look like I am just getting fatter when I weigh myself though - they have no facility to let them know you are actually pregnant and likely to GAIN weight in the next five or so months!

Roo, thanks, though I must confess the London shots were actually just after our wedding day, on a Shoot The Dress shoot - it poured with rain on our wedding day, and I wanted another chance for some dry, fun shots! Plus London is just so spectacular.
The carrying shot is on the day itself though.

Wow, your DH is young! Mine's 32 - I have a younger man!

AbFabT · 22/04/2010 23:13

ETA, Katy, lovely to see your photos too! You and your little one look lovely!
