Hi
I've requested to join fb group. My initials are JB

CazEM · 30/04/2010 18:24

DH back from Dr, bloods ok apart from a slight elevation in liver levels (whatever that means) but he's been urgently referred to a nerve specialist at the hospital and told to completely rest, no physical stuff and if he feels any worse at all or loses further sensation to go straight to A+E. He's moping around like a dying duck at the moment.... this weekend could be interesting as we're respiting as well and I can't do too much physical stuff either... Hmmm....

babyducky · 30/04/2010 18:28

How cute CazEM, u must have been so proud & LOL at your Dh, I'm always saying things like that in my sleep!

Does anyone know about pregnancy & chicken pox?
Its going around ds nursery at the mo, he has had it before when he was a baby, & I have also had it but is the baby at risk? Anyone know? Going to ring midwife but thought I'd see if anyone knows first!

CazEM · 30/04/2010 18:31

babyducky - we've had a lot in school, including in my class and the MW told me that me and baby were fine because I'd had it as a child and not to worry. Ring and just check with your MW is giving the same advice though....

babyducky · 30/04/2010 18:34

Thanks thats what I thought, I remember when my ds had it my friend was pregnant & I'm sure thats what her midwife told her aswell.

cazzybabs · 30/04/2010 18:57

I've requested to join fb group. My initials are CH

Bubbabear · 30/04/2010 19:14

Hey, have requested the facebook group too (initials RP). Tho I think I may have requested it abt 3 times if that's possible! Lol Sorry am on my iPhone & didnt think it had gone through. Will get on & look at it properly over the wknd. Great idea

& at ur DH Caz Must have been quite freaky but made me giggle. At Uni I had a housemate who sometimes slept with his eyes open. (Before I knew this), he was once sitting on the sofa next to me watching telly - or so I thought, then his head flopped towards me, eyes wide open. I thought he had some kind of seizure or something, only for him to wake up when I gently shook him & called his name & say he'd 'just dozed off'!
Also an ex of mine used to laugh in his sleep & often woke up giggling. Was very cute!

Aussieng · 30/04/2010 19:50

Hi all - sorry not caught up properly but will do over the weekend. Work really kicking in now - crap timing and I had a proper falling out with my bf today

Will try and find the facebook group - can I join pleeeeease??? I hate facebook but don't want to be left out

Initials are ST but might be SBT if they use my facebook maiden name maried name format.

OH - DH finally got new job contract - starts on 10 May. Blueberries, I treated myself to a pair for fit flops to celebrate.

loobyt · 30/04/2010 20:09

Hi all,

cherry so pleased all is okay with you and bump!

FB is a great idea, have requested to join, my initals are LT.

Very tired as have been visiting family for the last few days so will catch up with all the chatter over the weekend. Fingers crossed the sunshine comes back!

Chulita · 30/04/2010 20:35

aussie sorry you've had a falling out, hope you manage to sort it out.

babyducky if you've had chickenpox you'll be fine (that's what I've been told with both pg's so I'm inclined to believe them)

Right, I'm off to catch up on some zzzz's. I might crochet a bit more blanket in bed although it looks awful and I've just realised that I'm going to run out of some colours before I've finished so I've just had to undo about 3 hours work...nightmare! Gotta finish this one so I can crack on with one I actually like
Sweet dreams ladies and babies!

aendr · 30/04/2010 20:48

Cherry: pleased to hear you're okay
Caz: well done to that little girl

Sorry I haven't been on a lot lately, I've been trying to keep up reading but it's been rather busy here and I'm struggling to keep up with a toddler who is just learning to run.

I've just applied to join the FB group, initials AKM.

ElusiveMoose · 30/04/2010 21:43

Cherry, so glad you're back ok. I'll sleep easy tonight .

Just popping on to say, re chickenpox, that I think everyone else is right and you're fine if you've had it before. Apparently (according to my pg book) the risks are actually pretty minimal even if you haven't had it before and you do get it while pregnant - most of the time the baby isn't affected at all. (And if you get shingles, which is possible to catch as a 'version' of chickenpox if you've had cp before, then apparently there's no risk to the baby.)

Emster30 · 30/04/2010 23:18

Thanks for letting me in the FB group - I think I actually forgot to say who I was!

weehector · 30/04/2010 23:40

Ooh, FB..hell why not?..may as well merge my 2 online time-wasting vices. I is D.B.

Have a house-load of guests this weekend so busy, busy until Monday - see you all then.

hildainstant · 01/05/2010 09:02

Hiya,

Not been on here for ages so feel like a stranger! Really struggling to find the time....trying to finish uni, work, house hunting (one we bought fell through so we're currently homeless)......and vvv stressed and emotional and a bank holiday weekend filled with house viewings!

I've asked to join the FB group too, if that's OK - my initials are GD. And can I 'confirm' for the list please? If you need a reminder I'm due my first baby on 29th August, gender a surprise and its baby no,1. I'm 30 too.

Anyhoo, speak soon xxxx

loobyt · 01/05/2010 10:48

Hi all.

Please can someone help! I have just noticed that my mum has joined our August group on fb , arghhh! She must have seen it on my profile! Really would prefer her NOT to be, as I'm sure you will understand! Please can someone with the power delete her asap before she starts noseing about on Mumsnet too. Many, many thanks her name is Roberta Anderson, I will let her know why. Ta.

Alicetheinvisible · 01/05/2010 11:18

Looby, why would she do that????

Joey30 · 01/05/2010 11:23

loobyt - that was a little cheeky of your mum!

Thanks for the advise Alicetheinvisible- I think of newborns as being super fragile but you are right they are tough litle things oh and I hope it isnt raining at the racing today!

I'm at work today- its so quiet! Everyone must be outside today!

mrsZaC · 01/05/2010 11:53

rubbish so sorry about that looby, removed her now - phew! I've had a good look on there and i don't think anyone has squeezed in who should be there, I now have a warning on the description.

from now on cherry lets not accept anyone unless I get a request on here.

loobyt · 01/05/2010 12:13

Thank you lovely ladies, I can now relax again and continue to enjoy mumsnet! Still very though! Thanks again!

loobyt · 01/05/2010 12:58

Now the coast is clear I'm off to send out looks of fb friend requests!

Bubbabear · 01/05/2010 13:53

Very cheeky of your mum looby! Although quite impressed she's on facebook, my parents only just about do texts & email!

I recently had to trawl through my privacy settings on fb as DP's ex kept finding out our lastest news on the baby (ie scan results & things) & making comments trying to stir up trouble. We couldnt understand how she knew certain things, then i realised we both have a few mutal friends with her on there & while they wouldnt say anything directly to her, she was able to see our photos / updates from comments they made on our pages. Was very All sorted now tho so she can mind her own, the silly jealous moo!

Having a nice relaxing Saturday to myself, just pottering around as DP is in Twickenham for the Army vs Navy rugby (ie stood around in an over-crowded pub drinking all day with hundreds of squddie mates). He invited me along but for some reason it didnt appeal to me at 24 weeks pregnant!

Have managed to get out in the garden, cut the jungle of a lawn, front & back, that has shot up in my garden in less than 2 weeks (never use quick growing grass seed! Lesson learnt). Attempted some weeding but after about 5 minutes of crouching down got a some really uncomfortable pains in my bump so will have to put that one on the list of things im not 'allowed' to do anymore, oh well...

Hope everyone's had some sunshine today x

Chulita · 01/05/2010 13:58

loobyt how cheeky of your mum! I don't want anyone other than mners in that group, let alone my mum!
bubbabear I'm impressed you cut your lawn, our mower's a bit of a beast and I reckon I'd pull every 'muscle' in my stomach if I did it, not to mention it's on a steep slope...
DD had 6 hours sleep last night in three chunks [sigh]. Yes, she's a nightmare today and of course didn't go down for a nap so DH and I are pi**ed off with her and while I love her to bits, I'm not convinced I like her much today there's a big difference!!

ElusiveMoose · 01/05/2010 14:01

Ha ha, mums are funny creatures, aren't they looby? Mine was irritating me only yesterday. She was phoning me for the nth time to ask 'how are you, and how's that baby'. I know she means well, but boy does she go on. Anyway, what irritated me was that when I said 'fine, fine' in a breezy manner, as I alwasy do, she started going on about 'but the baby is ok, isn't he? he is moving around ok?'. FFS. What does she think I'm going to say? 'No, actually, that's a good point, I haven't felt him moving for ages, lucky you asked?' . Sorry, I probably sound really mean - obviously it's better this way than her not caring at all - but she does go on. I made the mistake of mentioning that the baby was breech at the 20 wk scan, and she now goes on INCESSANTLY about 'has the baby turned yet? oh no, what a worry! what if they think it's turned but it hasn't really? what if you have to have a section?', even though I've told her countless times that most babies don't turn until about 30 weeks. Hey ho, we'll probably all be like this with our children in 20 years' time .

ronx · 01/05/2010 14:39

Hi all!

I can't believe how quickly the board moves round here!

Hospital bag: I took a suitcase last time.

Bump: It's looking pretty big! God knows what size I will be by 9 months.

Facebook: What is the name of the group? Can I join, please?

Went for a bikini wax yesterday. Didn't hurt as much as I thought it would, thank goodness.
