Just had a bit of a funny turn in Sainsbury's - I should have learnt by now not to go on my own. I think it's the sight and thought of all that food. Anyway, I started feeling really faint so I sat down on the floor for a moment to recover. I tried to get out of the way but people were pushing their trolleys about an inch from my nose (it was really busy) and reaching over me to get stuff from the shelf, so I hauled myself up but then started feeling really sorry for myself, so started sobbing to myself. I wandered around for a bit not being able to think what I needed to get. I still felt faint and really thirsty so when I found myself in the water aisle I got a bottle of water and started drinking it, and sat down again (it was a bit quieter there). Then a nice man doing his shopping came and asked me if I was OK, which set me off crying again! All very embarrassing. Once I'd reassured him I was OK I went and paid for my shopping, sobbing gently to myself, to the acute embarrassment of the checkout guy (who didn't say anything). Managed to pack it all up and put it in the car, and then sat and cried in the car for a bit before I could drive home!

All very embarrassing (not that anyone noticed really)! I think from now on I will make sure I only go to Sainsbury's if DH is around - normally when I go with him I have to go and sit down by the time we get to the checkouts anyway...

Joey30 · 01/05/2010 15:26

Emster30 are you ok now? You relax the rest of the day ok? Shopping on a saturday is enough to get anyone frazzled never mind a pregnant lady
Cant believe only one person asked if you were ok- shocking!

loobyt · 01/05/2010 15:59

Emster, that's awful, can't believe people were reaching over you to get something. Don't feel embarrassed, all those people that didn't ask you if you were okay should be the ones feeling embarrassed. Hope you're okay now.

Chulita · 01/05/2010 16:57

emster you just reminded me that with DD I always felt faint in supermarkets, I think it was the combination of fluorescent lighting and lack of fresh air. I used to make sure that DH and I went together in the end. Sorry no one gave you any attention People get so embarrassed by someone else crying, it's odd! Hope you chill out this evening!

Aussieng · 01/05/2010 17:12

Hey Looby - my LO will hsve the same name as your DS!

LOL about your mum. MY DM is here for the weekend and I've had a couple of zingers already including "I can't imagine you with a baby you've never been maternal" and "Have you ever even held a newborn - do you know what to do?" grrrrrrrr

But she's bought me a cot and an ergo baby carrier so much is forgiven

Emster30 · 01/05/2010 17:24

I did feel better after I'd come home and had some lunch, so I've just cleaned the whole house which was a complete pit and getting me down. Everything is clean and sparkling now and I've put my feet up! I might go and have a bath shortly but apart from that I'm going to chill out for the rest of the day.

CherryPie3 · 01/05/2010 17:41

Oh emster I hope you're feeling better honey.
Agree with Joey that shopping anywhere on a Saturday is enough to start anyone crying, us pregnant ladies are just so much more emotionally charged.

no time to stay on ladies - be back tomorrow tho I think.

Take Care and have a lovely bank holiday weekend

do any of you lot have a silvercross pram? I was looking at the sleepover and the freeway today... tempted by a more tradtional-type pram but with the linear chassis

CrunchieNutterII · 01/05/2010 17:56

Have decided to name change after the whole fb thing this morning! Cherry, please can you change my name on all of your many lists , thank you list queen.

CrunchieNutterII · 01/05/2010 17:57

Oh and excellent choice of name for your LO Aussie!

kcoffin27 · 01/05/2010 18:22

mrszac I have the silvercross 3d pram.
Hope everyone has had a great start to the bank holiday

CazEM · 01/05/2010 18:39

Emster how awful only one person checked you were ok... hope your feeling better now! I'm with you on supermarkets, they always bring out the worst in me (proper trolley rage! lol) so I will only go with DH!! I find them even worse now I'm waddling around them too!!

I'm having a full on weepy and hormonal day today! Keep bursting into tears at the littlest thing. so much so I've climbed into bed for a liedown for an hour now hoping to relax and pull myself together. Not quite the same when it isn't my own bed though but its ok. (Up FILs looking after the boys now!) I think a major contribution to this weepiness is worrying about DH again and if he'll be even worse after physical stuff this weeknend but he's been ok so far... Oh well I'm 26 weeks pregnant, I'm allowed a full on crying day arn't I?!?!

I can't complain on the Mum front today, I popped down there for a bit to have another cry, and she was lovely! We went out and she bought me a thorntons chocolate icecream cone to make me feel better!! We also decided we will go and do my hospital bag shopping in half term (4 weeks) and get all the rest of the babies clothes ready! So thats something to look forward too!

Right my hour in bed is nearly up! Hope your all having a lovely weekend so far!

CazEM · 01/05/2010 18:43

Oh and MrsZaC - I loved the linear silvercross when we were looking for prams (also wanted something traditional looking) but went for the M&P Pliko Switch in the end - also quite traditional looking with the lovely big hood because the Linear was much heavier for me to lift in and out of boot of the car. (plus matching car seat didn't fit in our car and the one for the Switch did.)

Emster30 · 01/05/2010 21:44

CazEm you're definitely allowed a weepy hormonal day if I am! Hope your hour in bed helped. I have just had an Indian takeaway and am enjoying a glass of red and it is lovely. About to play a game of scrabble with DH who is home for the first evening in a week! Can't be bad.

CherryPie3 · 02/05/2010 08:50

Morning girls

Don't know what the weathers like where you all are but it's grim and grey here today.

Gonna try and get some washing done before the heavens open!

Will try and catch-up later

LizzieA · 02/05/2010 10:19

Morning All,

As I've just said on the fb group, I have realised that I went to senior school with one of you lovely ladies. It's all very strange putting nicknames to faces!

CazEM · 02/05/2010 10:53

Cherry Yup grey and dismal here too, and quite windy.

Well I'm so glad we have a kingsize bed at home. A double is evidently just not big enough for an increasingly heading towards heavily pregnant lady and all her pillows and a 20 stone man. Either back or bump has been practically hanging off the edge all night! (Up FILs remember)

Cats are driving me bananas! We bring Fiz with us when we are up here because as she is a housecat anyway it is easier and cheaper to bring her with us, than go up and down to feed and check on her. Half a tank easily used if we did that. So anyway, DH dads cat and her don't have a great fondness of eachother and I am sick to death of the scrapping! Just had to seperate them into different parts of the house so one can eat and then the other! Haha! Luckily Tigger is an outdoor cat so he only comes in to be fed and then goes straight back out!

How is everyone using Sunday then? The boys have left a huge pile of clothes just dumped on a chair so I suppose I better do the motherly thing and shout at them to sort it out! Would folding them into a tidy pile have been so difficult. Teenage boys also driving me bananas, don't even know what time DHs other step brother got in - apparently this is most nights he strolls in when he likes, usually in the wee hours. Not the rules I would allow for my 17 year old but there we go, he ain't my 17 year old and we're just stand in adults for the weekend for him.

Going to the local theatre tonight to watch some of my class in a show, although I might get DH to drop me off because I don't fancy parking and walking through Newport on my own in the dark...

Right must get on, think its about time the boys (including my DH) got themselves out of bed!!!

girlsyearapart · 02/05/2010 10:54

grim weather here too..

still another two days left till dh gets back.

arrrrrrrrggggggggh so tired!

sparkle101 · 02/05/2010 12:09

Tipping it down here... where'd the nice weather go?

Scan this afternoon at 4:30 - am getting the most out of the NHS as this will be my fourth scan, checking baby is growing properly as I've been such a bad mum but has been kicking like anything today so assume its getting ready and all will be fine. DH is away so going with my sister - will my resolve to not find out the sex hold.... I can't see it happening somehow!

Have a lovely Sunday everyone!

CellyD · 02/05/2010 12:31

I have just requested to join the fb group, my initials are MD. Thanks.

Emster hope you have recovered from the Sainsburys trip yesterday, people can be really mean, I can't believe only one person asked if you were ok.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the bank holiday weekend.

CazEM · 02/05/2010 15:20

Am I being old fashioned ladies? It appears that the 17 year old step-brother in law didn't come home at all last night as when I went to check his room and get everyone up he wasn't there. I haven't seen him all day and can now only assume he's at work as I think he had an afternoon shift today.

Now when I was 17 I had a time to be home by and staying out all night was with 'permission'. My parents were always strict on this and expected to know where I was, who with etc etc. No idea what time to or even if to expect him home tonight either. Am I being a real fuddy-duddy old person (but hey I'm only 25...) or am I justified in expecting to be told where he is and when he's coming home?! How am I supposed to know if he is safe?! Don't get me wrong I wasn't a complete angel at 17 but I let my parents know I was ok...

DH won't let me ring him or go and see if he is at work cuz his attitude is we ain't his parents and if this is what is normally allowed to happen (according to the other step-brother not to see him all weekend these days is normal!!) then his Dad is obviously happy with it and not to get involved. He'll be going hungry too cuz DH won't let me put a dinner up for him if he hasn't got the decency to let us know what is going on or make arrangements!!!

Oh well, the joys of teenage parenting to come many moons down the road...

Alicetheinvisible · 02/05/2010 16:55

It is hard i think, because you are not his parent, but agree with your DH, if he hasn't the decency to to let you know then don't feed him. He has been able to fend for himself for the rest of the weekend then one more night should be ok

Sparkle sorry for being nosey, but why do you have to have extra scans?

sparkle101 · 02/05/2010 18:10

Back from scan and all seems to be progressing quite well.

Alice my blood pressure was too high which apparently means the blood doesn't go to the placenta which can cause growth problems in baby - my fault for being two stone overweight when I got pregnant apparently! (according to fat clinic consultant)

Baby is growing as it should do and blood flowing well so am really happy - the sonographer gave me a picture which seems to show there is no obvious genetalia if you get what I mean?!?!? My sis is convinced it proves I'm having a girl - I am not so sure but does look like there is nothing there!

Same sonogrpaher as last time - this time she didn't upset me by telling me I was uptight and this time she didn't fall off her stool - I think the karma link has been proven

aendr · 02/05/2010 19:02

LizzieA: what's more, I was feeling a sort of "ooh there's someone from the Wirral" glee. The world is small.

Chulita · 02/05/2010 20:12

sparkle I'm very at your extra scans. I'd like to know what position this little one'll be in at about 37 weeks just because last time I knew DD was OP but no one listened. Could've saved myself 6 days of sleepless agony ... but hey ho, let's see which way this one lies!

and nobody bid on any maternity skirts on ebay in the next 10 mins cos I'll be very cross if I don't win this one
