ebrrokm - MY GP contacted the local MW led centre who then contacted me

Ah now I was able to make an appointment direct with the Midwife but then I don't really have a choice of hospitals unless I want to travel hours anyway.

Did two mammoth physio sessions with the kids at work today and am absoloutly knackered now and my back is hurting.

crazykat · 15/04/2010 16:30

I had to make a booking appointment with the midwife which is when i have to choose hospitals so they know where to send the referral for dating and anomoly scans.

Depends on the area as to the procedure. Best bet is to phone the surgery and ask.

RaceyLacey · 15/04/2010 19:11

ebrookm - Here the dr contacts the mw then they contact you.

We have told our families this week and all are very excited & happy. It's funny how, even at 30 & with 2 other children I still feel like a 15 year old when telling my dad!

SpanishLady · 16/04/2010 08:19

Good Morning!

Ok am entering week 7 and feel sick sick sick! Thought I would pass out on the very crowded train this morning but dont mind it if it means Titch is growing and still with me - not sure if that is correct? eg if you continue having MS etc that it means the pregnancy is progressing? Seems logical but not sure.

Am taking the plunge and adding myself!

Does anyone else feel like week 5 & 6 have taken ages?!

Miffster · 16/04/2010 08:49

hello, can I join in here?

I'm not sure how pregnant I am - probably just coming up to 5 weeks. Am 39, have been trying for 2 years. Something strange has been going on with my cycle hence confusion about whether I ovulated early or late. Seeing GP today so will try to get advice on DD and post it later

Not feeling sick - yet. Have been craving roast beef and horseradish with watercress so eating lots of that. Peeing all the time, inc. waking up at 3am-4am. Boobs swollen and sore. Yesterday very energised and serene and happy, despite lack of sleep. Alternating now between energetic and shattered.

Meant to be flying to Tunisia on Sunday for a wedding anniversary week's holiday (and originally planned as TTC). But the bloody volcano may have derailed our plans!

Good luck with it all everyone.

OnlyWantsOne · 16/04/2010 09:30

Hello and well come, congratulations to Miffster and SpanishLady

Yes, week 5 and 6 dragged on and on... today my boobs are massive DP rather likes it pervert.

heya
am new here too... feel like i've never wished my life away so much. am so keen to get to the first scan date! I think i'm 6+1 but will know more when I see the consultant on monday i guess.
am feeling absolutely exhausted. it's a massive struggle to get out of bed! and the usual nausea, sore boobs which have already grown rather impressively! my tummy is non-stop with weird stretching feelings. i guess it's just the uterus preparing itself but it does feel very odd. Has anyone else had this??
take care and look forward to seeing you all soon xx

Miffster · 16/04/2010 10:21

Yes, I have weird stretching/cramping things going on, am constantly aware of my tum's activities.

If I hadn't done 4 positive tests I'd be thinking I was about to come on, but it's not quite the same...not painful at all, just strange.

mrsmiu · 16/04/2010 11:35

oh Miffster! so glad you're feeling something similar. It's totally odd and quite disconcerting.
Have yet to get out of bed this morning... luckily work is quite flexible but am wondering how long this'll go on!

mamaeff · 16/04/2010 11:53

Hello all, I'm joining from across the way on the Pregnancy board...(bullied by onlywantsone ).

Where are you, littlesnoo? The menu sounds great!!

This is my third pregnancy and it has begun as the others did, with me awake for most of the night. I feel totally shattered at work and am really distracted. Also I feel my 'bump' (well, flab) is huge already. And I'm only in week 6. I seem to have put on a kilo but I'm trying really hard not to overeat. I don't really understand how this is happening. Sigh.

Hi All, sorry to everyone who's feeling terrible. I'm with you all with the nausea and extreme tiredness. I also feel like the time is going so so slowly. Not even 6 weeks until tomorrow!

I've just had a letter with my scan date: 1st June. Seems like years away! Still no midwife appointment though, I guess that will come in time.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine

PJen · 16/04/2010 15:50

Hi, I got my UCLH midwife and scan dates and I won't see midwife till Wk 12 and the scan is done on WK 13.... Is this too late????

Firsttimer2010 · 16/04/2010 16:10

So glad I am not the only one with stretchy strange type feelings going on in their stomach. Been off work this week, went food shopping and felt completely exhausted then perked up again when I ate something. Think I will need to eat more just to function normally. I was on weight watchers prior to getting pregnant so keep feeling guilty about eating more as don't want to get back to the size I was before.

LittleSnoo · 16/04/2010 16:17

Hey Mamaeff and all,

Thanks for all your good wishes. Got back yesterday, narrowly missing the volcanic dust cloud! Went to see the GP this morning - bit of a none-event. Took a urine sample and blood pressure, asked if I was taking folic acid and gave me the number of the midwife. I've been ringing the number all day and have only got a message, not impressed so far!

TheChangeSpiral · 16/04/2010 16:20

Hello again all

On the request of onlywantone I too have made the move over from the Pregnancy board, although I did make one little post here before. I had a little scare earlier in the week but fingers crossed things seem ok at the moment.

I was feeling quite smug about my nausea being quite light but now it has come on with a vengence and I'm exhausted. I also have painful sinuses, which I'm not sure is a pg thing or just a random affliction - as if I didnt have enough!

Eating-wise it seems today all I can stomach is cherry tomatoes and plain yoghurt - at least it's not iced buns and diet coke I suppose.

LittleSnoo · 16/04/2010 16:22

I'm having the same problem as you Firsttimer2010. I lost 5 stone last year and am a bit nervous about ballooning weight. Eating something is the only thing that takes away the queasiness and perks me up a bit. I'm findig ryvita quite useful - it's quite dry and bland and is quite healthy and low calorie.

LittleSnoo · 16/04/2010 16:33

moomaa · 16/04/2010 17:26

Nausea turned into being sick today, which I don't actually mind because the nausea seems to go away after I've actually been sick.

My tummy feels very tender the last couple of days but I think that is due to an over enthusiastic pilates session rather than the baby!

TheChangeSpiral · 16/04/2010 17:47

Kallo savoury rice cakes are keeping me alive!

RaceyLacey · 16/04/2010 19:04

Hi everyone

PJen - it all depends on where you are. Where I live it used to be you didn't see mw 'til about 13-14 wks, then had 1 and only scan at 16wks.

Have been extremely tired and have a general lack of energy. Had a bit of a sleep on the settee this afternoon while the boys watched et.

I also find that having a quick nibble of something dry & starchy gets rid of any queasiness, so I have a stash of biscuits all over the house & in the car.

Talking of cars what are those of you expecting no.3 planning on doing car-wise?

Wholelottalove · 16/04/2010 19:25

Hi everyone and welcome to new people joining.

I'm feeling similar to everyone, time is dragging, only early on and I've been having a lot of cramps on and off. Trying not to worry as I got cramps with DD too. Starting to get a bit of nausea but mainly shattered, although also getting bursts of energy.

Anyone else having mood swings? I'm feeling all over the place - sobbing at things one minute then really evil the next.

likethemapples · 16/04/2010 19:28

Not that this helps you, RaceyLacey, but you reminded me of the car issue.

I know it's kind of early to be thinking about this, but we don't have a car and don't really want to get one. Will taxi drivers take women in labour? How will we get home from the hospital?

Any suggestions?

Wendyb65 · 16/04/2010 19:38

Hi everyone,

I had a positive test last Sunday, following nearly 3 yrs of fertility treatment and one miscarriage. My EDD is 17th December.

Am hoping beyond hope that I can go all the way this time, but have added complications in that I am 45 now!

Keep your fingers crossed girls, I have a brown discharge tonight, but am hoping it is just an implantation bleed!

Good luck everyone!

Wendyb65 · 16/04/2010 19:44

adding myself to the list, even although it makes me feel even more of a geriatric!
