Hi all, great news miffster and hope it goes well wendy.
OWO, we have chickens too, we've got 7 and have had them just over a year, they're great and we sell enough eggs to p[ay for all their food!
I wouldn't feel guilty, more the other way around, dd (4.11) has been asking for a sibling for ages!
Thankfully I don't feel nauseous yet, but looking at my pg diary from last time I didn't for another week or two. Do have tender boobs though and funny twinges.
I'm not booking in with my gp for another couple of weeks as hes been off ill (had a brain haemorrage (sp?))but thankfully will be back in May and I really want to book in with him as he saw me through my last pg and is very good. I also know I won't get the 'how do you feel about that' from him as the last time I saw him in Nov I was asking him advice about how long to wait until ttc - (I had part of my cervix removed due to abnormal cells in Nov), so I expect he'll be happy to see me!
Roll on May though, we're off on holiday to the Yorkshire Dales, can't wait, a holiday will be lovely, just hope the weather stays like this.

TheChangeSpiral · 21/04/2010 21:24

Hooray for your news Miffster

Welcome Kisses1973 - This ante-natal thread has already given me more than I could have hoped for and I hope we can support you through your pregnancy. And at least you don't have to put up with sarcastic comments about being difficult about food at the moment. Hurrumph

PJen · 21/04/2010 21:54

Welcome kisses1973!!! You are my age and only one day a head of me! Woo Hoo to us preggie hot mummas!

Miffster I cried from joy reading your news! I must confess that is really easy to get my tears out these days though! But really great news! I am so worried and am thinking about going for a private scan next week, which will be my 8th weeks.

RaceyLacey your belly is gorgeous and unbelievable. Maybe it is a twin? Although I read that if it is your 3rd or 4th baby your body will show much sooner.

Hated today. I felt sick all day and bloated. By the time I got home from work, I had all the buttons of everything opened! I can't stand anything pressing against my skin!

I just finished a ginger tea and feeling a bit better! Hurrayyy

kisses1973 · 21/04/2010 22:08

Thanks guys

I am feeling sick but not all day, and feel bloated all the time and exhausted permanently.

Can't wait until my scan hopefully my midwife's request to put me in for an early scan will work ringing next Wednesday to book it.

Take care everyone catch you all tomorrow.

xxxx

deepblue · 22/04/2010 04:36

Morning all. My youngest starts pre-school today, can't believe where the time has gone. I'm knackered but not feeling too bad other than that, no sickness or anything, thankfully. Will have to see how it goes. I'm quite worried every time I go to the loo that there will be blood after my previous miscarriages but I hope this one will stick. My pregnancies have been eventful too so I'm really hoping this one is straightforward.

My waters broke at 22ish weeks with ds2 so I've made a drs appt for next week to talk to them and see if anything different needs to be done. I'm also going to try to get an early scan.

Hope you're all feeling well this morning, lovely day out there.

comtessa · 22/04/2010 11:04

Morning all! Anyone else's hormones kicking in? DH came in at 1.15am this morning - okay he had said he would be out late but wasn't expecting that late. Then he decided that was the perfect time to email his mother (in USA, but still, she knows what time it is over here!)I was upset as I don't sleep properly until he comes to bed, esp. now with getting up so often in the night. He just didn't get it. AIBU? I've said that I don't expect him to come to bed at 8pm if I've crashed out, but it would be nice to go to bed together maybe three nights out of four. Slept badly and am so tired.

Sorry, moan over. Will get on with work now. Hope you all had fabulous sleeps and are glowing! xx

ebrookm · 22/04/2010 11:32

Good morning Mum's!

deepblue, I have had strange and eerie dreams the last three nights. Very odd and hoping that does not continue.

Yesterday I had a great day with friends and their little ones - we went to the London Zoo! I think the distraction worked wonders for my nausea.

Last night I woke up nearly vomiting and this morning has been difficult to keep from gagging. I am planning to do a bit of shopping later and hopefully that helps.

comtessa please do not worry - I understand how you feel. My best advice is to act as if you are not bothered and concentrate on yourself. He does not understand, it seems. My DH is similar and he is slow to sympathize although I have found what works is telling him exactly what I need (as he never picks up on subtle hints). This is a big change for you and your DH as a couple and he might be finding it difficult to swallow. Everyone has a different experience and reaction - and he may feel a bit wonky about your change in diet, feelings and sleep schedule.

How are you feeling? And where is he from in the US? I'm from NYC and my DH is Irish...

Hi ebrookm, thanks for tea and sympathy, think I just need to call my mum for a big pregnancy moan! DH is from Fort Lauderdale, FL, I'm English. He came over here to work, met me and stayed. Thankfully his parents now love me - he's an only child and decided he preferred England, it could have gone so poorly for me with my in-laws!

Ah, sunshine, hope it's sunny where you all are! xx

AmazingBouncingFerret · 22/04/2010 12:08

Hello all. Im not pregnant but was due Dec 09 am now a proud owner of one 4 month old DD!

This thread has reminded me how exciting early pregnancy is!

Congratulations everyone and good luck!

WhatWillSantaBring · 22/04/2010 12:22

Afternoon all,

May I join too? I got my BFP on Saturday (and again on Sunday when I used a digital thingy rather than squinting and trying to decide if I was imagining the second blue line). Seems that my EDD is Christmas Eve and this is #1 for me.

Very scared about the whole thing as all I ever seem to hear/read is all the horrible things that are going to happen in the next 8 months and that then my life will officially end!!!

Anyway, added myself to the list:

Awww thats lovely Ferret congratulations.

Congratulations to newcomers too.

RaceyLacey am of your bump, I just have flab.

comtessa I am emotional too, dh made a silly joke about me trapping him 10 years ago by getting pg with dd (she was unplanned) and I burst into tears.

It is really sunny here too I feel much better than yesterday, I think a few days off work will do me good. Am counting the days until I see m/w on Tuesday.

Angelgirl79 · 22/04/2010 12:33

Hi Whatwillsantabring its my first too and I am petrified!! At least we can all go through the next 8 months together!.

How are you feeling? Im not feeling poorly other than tired and incredibly emotional - blame it on the hormones but its really hard when no-one around you knows. Anyway hope you're ok x

TheChangeSpiral · 22/04/2010 13:00

Eurgh the nausea progressed into actually being sick this morning. I had some crampy pain too - do you guys think I should call the doctor?

notso · 22/04/2010 13:11

Whats the crampy pain like spiral?

I have had crampy pains on and off for the last week but it has been bareable, a bit like period pain.

WhatWillSantaBring · 22/04/2010 13:17

Cheers Angelgirl, Its nice to know that I'm not the only one who's bricking it slightly!!

Glad you're not feeling too bad- I've been shattered since about 3DPO, rather tetchy (homones+nerves=grumpy!) and have really sore gums/mouth ulcers. Ho hum!

Also, in a horribly ironic bout of timing, my two best friends miscarried in the past two weeks, so for the moment, I have no one except DH to share my news with (well, apart from the dentist this morning. And the lady in Boots).

Gosh - that sounds terribly selfish. I don't mean it like that at all - I'm so desparately upset for my friends that I don't really feel much like celebrating my own good news and terribly nervous.

Change Spiral - apparently crampy pain is normal (your uterus expanding?) so I don't think the doctor will do much except tell you to wait and see. If you're nervous, though, you could speak to NHS Direct for reassurance?

mamaeff · 22/04/2010 13:20

Hello all, just popping in! Feeling shattered and fat. I look about 4m, I reckon. I don't think my tummy muscles ever tightened up after the first baby, now they just hang out - ugh.

No harm in calling, is there, Spiral? They might reassure you at least.

Great news Miffster - and welcome to the 14th Dec gang!!

xx

TheChangeSpiral · 22/04/2010 13:27

Thanks for the advice all. The pain's not that bad just like light period pains and it didn't last long. I woke up with it in the middle of the night a couple of days ago too. I haven't had any bleeding since though so I'm not too worried. I'm hoping to move to Bristol this weekend after all so I'll register with a doctor first thing on Monday and tell them everything then!

PJen · 22/04/2010 14:26

Hi all,
I worked out this morning and was 45 min on trainer and now am seeing a bit of spotting. I feel soooo guilty! Not sure if it is real but am planning to go tomorrow to get checked out. I am freaking out...

JodieO · 22/04/2010 16:01

Spiral hope the cramps aren't too bad, they can be normal but if they get worse then it's always worth giving gp a call or nhs direct just to get another opinion.

Pjen try not to worry, easier said than done I know, but stress won't help you. The spotting may just die down but hope the dr can put your mind at rest.

Anyone else knackered now? I'm only 4+5 today (I think) but I'm totally exhausted. My little one had a really fun day at his first pre-school session but he's tired now too. Just picked my other 2 up from school and trying to relax before dinner!
