Thanks.

Another thread has got me thinking now, is anyone else wearing maternity bras already? I was going to buy some but tried them on and they made me have cone boobs which put me off.
I know I should be thinking of the greater good rather than asthetics but was quite enjoying having perky(ish) boobs again.

TheChangeSpiral · 21/04/2010 12:23

I'm wearing my sports bra at the moment as my usual ones have become painful already. I'm a bit worried that if I buy maternity bras now they won't fit me again in a month, let along 6. How much bigger will they grow and for how long?

Wholelottalove · 21/04/2010 12:41

OWO - yes this is my second, DD has just turned 2 and I do feel a little bit guilty and worried about how she will take it. OTOH one of the main reasons (other than extreme broodiness) I wanted another was so she would have a sibling.

I also keep wondering when I should do things before new baby comes, e.g. get DD into a bed so baby can have the cot (baby will have moses basket but if long like DD will only be in it a few weeks), get her off her dummy , get her potty trained...all in a few months! And the poor thing has just moved rooms at nursery so need to let that settle before I do anything.

When will you tell your 3 yo? I was thinking once scan out of the way I'd wait until I'm showing or she asks.

notso · 21/04/2010 12:41

From what I can remember they settle down around the second trimester and then grow again at the end and when milk comes in afterwards.

My normal bras are fine until I take them off but I am a bit worried about hindering milk glands as had a bit of a problem feeding ds and don't want the same again this time.

Wholelottalove · 21/04/2010 12:43

notso and spiral - I know some people say not to but I wore normal underwired for first few months of pg with DD, did have to get some bigger bras though. I went from a A-D cup all in about the first trimester, then they got bigger still towards the end and when breastfeeding I looked like I'd had a boob job, lol! So, I personally would wait but depends how uncomfy you are.

Wholelottalove · 21/04/2010 12:44

Oh and meant to say I'm not in my maternity bras yet, but bursting out of my normal ones. I find it hurts when I take my bra off at night.

notso · 21/04/2010 12:52

I think I'll stay as I am, I'm feeling so superstitious this time round, can't bring myself to buy anything this early on.

Feeling really weepy and tired today, and have been feeling really sick. Have drunk loads of tea which I don't think is good for me but it's all I fancy really.

PJen · 21/04/2010 12:53

I put my normal bras away too and am wearing only soft sport bras. I am worried about the size of boobs and how fast they are growing as well. Will look like a cartoon soon if this continues!!

Firsttimer2010 · 21/04/2010 13:02

Emma I too had to provide a sample before GP would refer me to midwife. But when just given in a sample (week 5) I had a small bleed and she still referred me to EPU so must have believed I was pregnant must just be procedure in some areas.

Wholelottalove · 21/04/2010 13:10

Aww notso sorry you're feeling bad. I think tea's ok as long as it's not gallons! You could always get decaf. Hope you're feeling better soon.

notso · 21/04/2010 13:20

Thanks Wholelottalove

If it's any use DS was massive and we managed to cram him in his moses basket in our room for 6 months because DD really needed her sleep for school.

I would aim for one thing whatever you think will be most likely to succeed and maybe the rest will fall into place.

moomaa · 21/04/2010 14:06

Hi notso, I am still wearing normal bras and will for as long as they fit. When they don't I will take that as a message to switch to maternity ones. I would just buy good fitting non wired normal bras rather than maternity as I can't see anything special about maternity bras? Then you get more choice.

I went to pick up a pack of forms from the GP surgery today as requested and I can't believe how many there are. I have to fill them in before booking. There was also so much info to wade through, that big pregnancy book they give you, a big booklet about screening, loads of Bounty stuff, scan forms, bloods forms, forms for things I couldn't figure out, every bit of paper you can imagine. I didn't get it all at the start like this last time. Good though, I remember first time I felt a bit ignored until booking in time.

My house is an absolute tip as I am being lazy. I must go tidy it all up....

AnitaBlake · 21/04/2010 14:32

emma I used to be a consultant, you will absolutely love, I won't go into why I left but it was purely personal, and if I had my time again, I would still be doing it tbh.

SW is completely safe as you don't restrict your calories in the way you do with conventional diets, you can eat what you fancy, when you fancy it, from the free foods lists. IIRC your consultant will require a form to be signed by your midwife with an expected weight target (be it gain, loss, or maintain) the only time you can't actually attend classes is the six weeks following birth. Because SW is more of a healthy eating plan and so a management tool, than anything else, you will still get everything you need from it to carry in a way that is best for both you and baby!

Can't wait to get stuck into my huge salads again!

moomaa I'm of the larger persuasion and will just be getting some well fitting 'normal' bras for as I expect to gain quite a few bra sizes lol, I'll move over to maternity/bfing ones later I think! I bought a non-wired one, but it didn't fit so I'll be off to Bravissimo for some nicer ones!

RaceyLacey · 21/04/2010 14:56

Afternoon everyone.

I'm not feeling quite as yuck as I have been, more though I think to do with the fact that I am trying not to stressing about selling my car. I need it gone by the weekend, it has a years MOT on it and I'm asking £350 cos I really really need it gone. I've already had a fight this morning with 3 Kurdish blokes (yes it very nearly did turn physical), Police were called, the lot. The list goes on and on of stupid people. I'm close to printing a list of cars from ebay, autotrader etc and showing them what they can get elsewhere for that money.

I have told my ds's. I wasn't going to, but I was too scared to tell my parents so I told the boys so that they could tell them . DS1 isn't all that bothered, but ds2 is very excited, he keeps cuddling my belly and telling me he loves 'his baby'.

I've had to buy new bras as my normal ones didn't even fit on the bigest fitting 3wks ago. I'm going to put a pic up later of me as I'm bloody huge!

moomaa · 21/04/2010 16:09

yes I heart bravissimo too.

Racey I'd love to see your piccie. I thought I might be a bit bigger around the middle last night, but really it was just chocolate and doughnuts!!

Miffster · 21/04/2010 16:31

Afternoon!

I have just had emergency scan because of spotting, the staff at Homerton EPU were lovely.

Am pleased to report baby ( who we call Tiny Clanger)is 8.4mm, with heartbeat cantering along like mad, and all in all perfectly formed for 6 weeks 1 day. DH was with me and he was really pleased to see the action on the screen and has gone all quiet and smiley.

Thanks for all the support and reassurance!

Bras 2 months ago I was 38A or 36B and yesterday it all got a but too unbearable as none of my bras, even my sport bras felt hideously uncomfortable. John Lewis lingerie woman measured me and said I was 36DD already!..and likely to keep growing. So I bought a minging black and a white non-wired bra for a tenner each. Much more comfy but ugh, ugh, they look so crap. Refused the offered flesh coloured one on principle, it was the colour of an elastoplast and I would like to have sex again at some stage.

Have been told as I was small and perky before, and as this is first pregnancy, I will likely need to keep coming back as my knockers grow. Will get nicer Bravissimo ones once they show signs of slowing down.

That's fab news Miffster! Really pleased for you

nymum · 21/04/2010 18:39

Congrats Miffster! What good news

Good luck tomorrow Wendyb65. Positive thoughts your way!

RaceyLacey · 21/04/2010 18:42

Excellent news Miffster

I've added a picture. I am not breathing out in this picture to make my belly look bigger. It is definitely baby belly too as I used to have a bit of flab flopping over my waistband (nice!) that has gone & the flab on the side has gone. The belly come from right under my boobs & is solid! I can't believe the size of me already!

crazykat · 21/04/2010 18:59

at those of you who's boobs are getting bigger, I wish mine would.

I don't think I've ever been this tired in my life, even when dd was only sleeping three hours a night. I could quite happily sleep all day.

deepblue · 21/04/2010 19:38

Adding myself back in. I've been so bloated I dug out my old maternity wear last night and ginormous waisted yoga pants have been bliss!

DD has been so clingy lately I wonder if her spidey sense tells her something's going on. Oh and apparently there's chickenpox in the nursery so fingers and toes crossed that we don't get it for the next 8 weeks or so. Sympathies on the slapped cheek.

Hi everyone

can I join too please, i'm pregnant with my first child, nearly 8 weeks gone so a long way to go yet and EDD 05/12/2010, scared as i'm 36 doing this alone as my ex boyfriend wanted me to have an abortion and choose between me and the baby, well the baby won and was always going to.

Saw my midwife yesterday which went really, because of my miscarriage last September she is going to send me for an early scan which is great because it will put my mind at rest.

I'm really excited and can't wait.

Hope everyone is doing well.

xxx

emmaxmas · 21/04/2010 20:03

Hello! Hope you don't mind that I've joined in too. I had a bfp on Saturday and am very excited as this is my first pregnancy. Have got Dr appointment tomorrow so will be good to get things all confirmed. Have been having a few symptoms- mainly sore boobs and really really tired plus weird stretchy pains on the left side of my tummy which I try not to worry about too much.
