Anita I have done 7 tests, I am on a POAS addict! So I am somewhat irritated at having to take a pot of pee for them to retest!

Onlywantsone I will be having a section as had a crash section with DS (general anesthetic) wasn't pleasant! Quite traumatic birth so not even attemting a VBAC this time! To be honest, with an xmas baby its a bit of a blessing!!

JodieO · 21/04/2010 11:06

Due on the 25th and I'm 31. Thanks

TheChangeSpiral · 21/04/2010 11:09

Morning everyone

Big hello to new people x

Feeling a bit less tired today but sicker than ever and can't even stomach my usual marmite toast! Plain yoghurt it is then.

Glad you had such a positive experience comtessa - I was beginning to worry that I should expect all contact with the medical profession to be a battle.

What's fifth disease notso?

Thanks Wholelottalove but I am indeed moving to a whole new area. I'm in Buckinghamshire, living with the in-laws at the moment, but moving to Bristol in the next few weeks - i.e. as soon as possible!

I think you're right though and I should probably go and register with them just in case I'm still here in 6 weeks time sigh

TomsMumLP · 21/04/2010 11:09

Hi Littlesnoo - sorry I've taken so long to reply - GINGER OATCAKES are Nairns stem ginger biscuits, they were in the oatcake/craker part of Tescos. I'm in Scotland but they should be national.
Miffster & Wendy, I hope you're not worrying too much, that happened to me in my last pregnancy at about 11 weeks. I was away visiting my family down south for a funeral at the time & didn't know what to do. I ended up having to go to my inlaws GP who didn't know much either! I had a scan and it was ok in the end. I was told at the scan that apparently this can happen at the time you would be having your period if you wern't pregnant due to all the hormones fighting in your body. If you count back does that coincide? At the time I couldn't find any info about it and it seemed to be something that nobody tells you about! I hope this gives some reassurance and good luck!

AnitaBlake · 21/04/2010 11:10

Emma that sounds ridiculous babe!

TomsMumLP · 21/04/2010 11:13

Also, please can I go on the list? I'm 36, 2nd baby and due 14th December ish.

emma2617 · 21/04/2010 11:14

Ooops...sorry JodieO

Anita I know!!! I just want to get the ball rolling, I used to love my midwife appointments! Plus I've lost 3 stome since I was pg with DS so can't wait to get weighed!!!

emma well done love! I used to love getting weighed at the docs, but that was before I met DH and his evil can't-stop-eating- it-tastes-so-good meals! I'm back on Slimming World as of Monday though, I know it's safe for pregnant women, and all that fruit and veg HAS to be good lol, since I seem to only have one symptom (if you can call it that going on hos always screws with my digestive system, and I'm away atm - DH is not feeling so good so I've camped down in the free internet cafe!!)

Added you TomsMum.

spiral fifth disease is also known as slapped cheek syndrome, although not usually harmful in children it can increase risk of miscarriage as it can cause anaemia in the unborn baby if you get it then you have life long immunity, sadly I've never had it.

OnlyWantsOne · 21/04/2010 11:27

Swimmingworld is OK when PG? I wonder if I should join up then - not that I want to loose weight, but with DD I gained 4.5 stone and already this PG ive put on a stone (giving up smoking and eatinf for 5 and all that)

OP posts:
notso · 21/04/2010 11:31

Rofl at swimmingworld OWO,

I think I'm going to join next monday, my weight has hardly shifted in over a month even though I can't eat anything sweet or fatty/greasy.
I was thinking of starting jogging again, but do you think that would be unwise?

TheChangeSpiral · 21/04/2010 11:38

I'm a yoga addict and have been advised not to do anything that involved jumping, which would indicate jogging isn't ideal. On the other hand, my step-sister has just had her first and ran 10Ks right up to her 7th month! In other words I've no idea - probably best to ask doctor or midwife.

emma2617 · 21/04/2010 11:44

Anita and onlywantsone Yes, Slimming World is completely safe! I am a new consultant starting my own group on Monday!!! We are the only slimming organisation to be able to take children from the age of 11 and women right through pregnancy!! Slimming World is the reason I lost 3 stone, and the way I'm going to lose the last 2! I love it!

notso · 21/04/2010 11:46

I jogged when pg with dd 10 years ago but was a regular jogger and much fitter then.
I think they'll prob advise me not to start but I thought maybe the pro's of losing weight etc might out weigh the cons of jogging am concerned I'm just going to get fatter and fatter.

TheChangeSpiral · 21/04/2010 11:47

notso Oh no I can understand why you must be worried. I'm sure the risks are low but is there no-one else who could look after the little one for you just to put your mind at rest?

notso · 21/04/2010 11:49

emma do you know how SW works when pg then?
I know you are supposed to get the ok from the M/W, but do you get weighed every week?

emma2617 · 21/04/2010 11:51

Yeah, you still get weighed everyweek but just follow the recommendations of your MW re gain/maintain, and your consultant can help you meet those recommendations. You just follow the normal plan aswell (if you go onto breastfeed there are additional allowances) There is a special booklet for us preggos which will tell you a little more, ie point you in the direction of calcium rich foods!

PJen · 21/04/2010 11:52

Hi girls...
Starting a bright and sunny day in London and too bad that I can't ditch work and go for a walk... I am nauseous as always today and have already had meals enough for rest of my day... I am putting on weight and this is freaking me out as I used to be the same weight for ever.
ebrookm you can ask for another hospital or even self recommend. My girl friend self recommended herself to UCLH. I am with UCLH too. St Mary's is around the corner for me but it is too old looking. Although I have read good stuff about it here. Good luck.
notso let me know what is the outcome of jogging. I used to be an avid gym goer but now I get cramps after gym and have cut down a lot on working out. I am noticing the effect on my waist line! I get worried though when getting cramps.
Wendyb65 all the best of luck! Please keep us informed of your scan outcome.

notso · 21/04/2010 11:55

It's not one of my children spiral thankfully, I'm a TA at a nursery and one of the pupils was off with it today.
The doc told me to stay away in case more are coming down with it but as the symptoms appear after the contagious period I have already been exposed. It's just a case of waiting to see if I get it now.

notso · 21/04/2010 11:58

Thanks emma I love SW, it really is the best weigh to lose weight. I can't wait to join on Monday now.

PJen · 21/04/2010 12:00

emma I am interested to learn more about SW.... please.

TheChangeSpiral · 21/04/2010 12:09

Ah that's good - sorry I don't know how I made that leap! Fingers and toes crossed for you notso
