Miffster, not had any experience of this myslef, but as others have said, best thing you can do is try not to worry, giving the gp a quick call won't do any harm. And if it's any consolation I've just been reading some bits and one thing said 20-30% of women have some slight bleeding before 12 wks.

Blimey PJen, that sounds awful. I have to say I've never experienced anything like that at all. The dr I saw asked the usual 'are you happy about that?' question like LittleSnoo did, but you know sometimes you get an instant dislike for someone, well that's how it was with her. I wanted to ask questions but decided to make an appointment with another dr instead. She also sat there arguing with me for some time over a couple of other matters. .

Sticks head round door hello girlies! long time lurker, occasional troublemaker, first time pg! I'm shocked it was so quick! Obviously my body was raring to go lol, I came off the pill in Dec 2008, got told it would take a month for each year I'd been on (so 17 months) and here i am!

Was scared to post at first, but I'm approaching 7 weeks, so I guess its maybe safer! Wow I'm petrified! But there's few girls in my sitch so hopefully we can hold each others hands! I look forward to getting to know you all better!

Wendyb65 · 20/04/2010 16:50

Hi everyone,

I'm not having a very good time at the moment. My brown spotting turned into full on bleeding yesterday, with a big clot appearing about lunchtime, then it eased off, then it went back to brown stuff, and today its back to blood, but no more clots, and I haven't had any pain.
I saw the midwife this morning, and I now have an appointment at the hospital for a scan on Thursday morning.

It's just a waiting game now, although I have to say things aren't really looking good! Keep your fingers crossed everyone.

LittleSnoo · 20/04/2010 17:05

Fingers crossed for your scan Wendyb65

AnitaBlake · 20/04/2010 17:19

Fingers crossed for you Wendy babes xxx

Angelgirl79 · 20/04/2010 17:21

Hi Everyone can I join please, I got my bfp on 8 April but it still hasnt sunk in and feeling very nervous. I think my EDD is 17 Dec. Im 30 yrs old and this is my first baby but we were ttc for approx 10 months and used the cbfm to conceive.

Wendyb65 got my fingers crossed for your scan on Thurs morning xx

RaceyLacey · 20/04/2010 17:33

Fingers crossed Wendy.

Congratulations Angel.

notso · 20/04/2010 17:35

Fingers crossed Wendy xx

Miffster · 20/04/2010 18:58

Fingers crossed Wendy.

I'm in for an emergency scan tomorrow as well, because of brown spotting.Toes crossed as well.

likethemapples · 20/04/2010 19:50

Good luck Wendy and Miffster. What you describe is exactly what happened to me - brown streaks for about a week and then a bit more blood. I never thought I'd be so relieved to have a large metal probe covered in a condom and lube stuffed up my growler . Sorry if TMI! The staff at the EPU at St Thomas's were really kind, and said that sometimes bleeding just happens and they don't know why. When I came back from the EPU, I went straight to bed and slept for the rest of the day.

The bleeding still hasn't stopped, but isn't getting heavier and I am trying to be relaxed about it and not mind the towels, which I would never normally wear.

Will be thinking of you tomorrow and Thursday.

JodieO · 20/04/2010 19:57

Hello everyone. I just found out today that I'm pregnant and I think I'll be due on Dec 25th! Early days yet as I'm only about 4+3 and I miscarried a couple of months ago, I've had 6 in total but also have 3 children.

Wholelottalove · 20/04/2010 21:12

miffster and wendy hope all goes ok for your scans, fingers crossed for you.

Welcome to more new joiners!

I'm feeling a bit brighter, managed some more food. Going to see what night I have tonight and possibly work at home tomorrow or just have the day off sick if I'm still rough to recuperate.

ebrookm · 20/04/2010 21:42

Just peeking in and glad to see the list growing!

Fingers and toes are crossed for you Wendy. xx

Felt well today with small bouts of nausea. Eating habits are still erratic though and energy level is low.

PJen - it sounds like you saw the same nurse I did at my GP's office. I never saw my GP in fact and as soon as I walked in to confirm the pregnancy the nurse said "I'm having a horrible day" and that I should choose St. Mary's hospital even though I requested a different one she says is not in my district...

Does anyone know if it is possible to negotiate a different hospital outside of your specific area?

TheChangeSpiral · 20/04/2010 22:45

Everything crossed for you Wendy. I had a fairly substantial bleed last Monday but it's all been fine since. Try not to worry too much.

I haven't actually registered my pregnancy with a doctor yet as I'm only where I am temporarily til we move - is that bad? Don't really want to get in the system here because I'm hoping to have moved before my 12 week scan anyway!

comtessa · 21/04/2010 09:09

Hi all, thanks for the postings re. other DHs and sex during PG. Just hoping mine rethinks as (although I'm really not up for it at the moment!) I really miss the intimacy.

Okay, I had some cramping on one side on Friday (I'm now 8wks) called NHS direct and they said if it gets worse to go to A+E. No probs over weekend but Monday evening was defo v. tender. So, straight to A+E Monday evening. Saw Dr and the gynae (did take several hours, but I wasn't bleeding or anything, and of course other people in more need etc) and they booked me in for emergency scan yesterday. All looks okay but they just want to keep an eye on me. This was at QMC in Nottingham and I was honestly so pleasantly surprised as I was fully expecting to have to fight my corner as to why I should be seen but every nurse/dr I saw said that I did the right thing by coming in and hopefully it's nothing but best to be on the safe side. Thankfully it's not ectopic (as feared).

Just wanted to let everyone know of a positive experience. Also, am booked in for follow-up scan next week to be on safe side.

notso · 21/04/2010 10:06

Thinking of everyone who's having a rough time.

Glad you're ok comtessa.

Welcome and congratulations to newcomers.

I've had to come home from work today and will be off for the rest of the week because one of the children is off with fifth disease.
I was feeling crap anyway so I'm grateful for the rest but it's meant I've had to tell even more people, and I'm worried in case I come down with it.

Wholelottalove · 21/04/2010 10:21

Sending hugs to all those who are having difficult time and glad everything is ok for you comtessa Spiral - are you moving to a totally different area? If you're not, maybe you could book in with your temp surgery so you get your scan date for your local hosp through, then move docs after that? Just a thought. Otherwise, in my first pg I saw the doc who just told me to take folic acid and not eat blue cheese etc, then filled in lots of paperwork at 10 wks booking appt. I think they like to do bloods for something or other though - I'm booked in for mw then bloods next week.

I'm off work again today as still got stomach bug although I am starving hungry. Managed to take DD to nursery myself this morning, but she was really upset as only her second proper day in her new room. She was howling and I felt like a complete shit for leaving her Going to phone them in a bit to check how she's doing.

AnitaBlake · 21/04/2010 10:34

Comtessa if it makes you feel any better my DH was petrified of doing the deed with me since I got a +ive result, he was feeling much more confodent last night I think it just takes different men different lengths of time, mine was scared of 'disloging anything' his words lol! HTH!

Hugs to everyone having a difficult time atm, I've got my fingers crossed for you all xxx

emma2617 · 21/04/2010 10:35

Morning Ladies! New comer here!! I am literally JUST pregnant, 4+1 based on LMP with EDD 28th December! Although I will be having a c-section so hoping for about 16th/17th December! This is my 2nd, I have a 13 month old little boy, soon to be 14 months!

Really looking forward to the next 8 months, especially all the MNing ahead, MN kept me sane throughout my pregnancy with DS!

Also...has anyone else had to leave a urine sample with GP to test before they will make a booking appt? I never had this with my old GP and noone else I know has had to, but my current GP won't make me a booking appt until I leave them a pee sample so annoyed!!

Sorry to rant on my first post...lovely to meet you all!!

is any one else a massive emotional wreck?

I go from delirious smiles to sobs in minutes.

Looking forward to my scan on Friday, hopefully I will be less of an emotional wimp.

For those of you who are having your 2nd, or more babies - do you feel guilty about that? That your 1st little one, wont be the only baby any more? My DD is 3 and I feel terrible

Hi Emma2617! I didn't have to leave a sample, I called my GP and the very nice receptionist said that because the tests were 99% accurate, (and I'd done two lol) they really ddn't do that sort of thing anymore! I think they view it as a waste of money tbh!

OnlyWantsOne · 21/04/2010 10:59

emma can I just ask why you are having a Csection (Im very nosey)
