Congrats babymonster
Bettymum..Alexander's a lovely name...did your dp give in to your name choice in the end then?
So cute that your lil one calls wilf Woof..Makenzi-Shei calls Jude Dude, but it's nowhere near as cute as Woof She calls my mum Kakay, but in the last few days has suddenly started being able to pronounce granny properly, so I'm actually a lil bit sad that she's growing up hehe ;) x

ilovesprouts · 19/04/2010 14:51

bm great name my dd whos 38wks pg is called sophie xx

Zeeky · 19/04/2010 16:56

Congratulations babymonster - such a great birth story!

Weetiger - so pleased to hear that the hypnobirthing CD helped and for such a big boy too! We're planning a hypnobirth too, so fingers crossed it will help me cope as well as you.

Love the name Bettymum. Who won in the end, you or DH?

AdelaideJo · 19/04/2010 17:33

Congratulations to babymonster and weetiger!!

I bought Clary Sage this afternoon - I didn't use it with DS so does anybody have any tips or experience on how to get the most out of it?

Boodstress · 19/04/2010 17:56

Hi AdelaideJo - I put a few drops in the bath last time but you can also dilute it (v well..like 1 to 20) with an oil like olive or almond oil and rub it into the bump. My reflexologist gave me Jasmine oil which is even stronger and I have been massaging it in since last wednesday (not due til tomrw week), hopefully coupled with a bit of 'hows your father' should hopefully give me the best chance ...good luck

thedollshouse · 19/04/2010 18:15

I had a new lease of life this afternoon. This morning I couldn't even put one foot in front of each other and yet this afternoon managed to do the school run with no problems even managed to walk up a steep hill without getting out of breath, somthing I haven't been able to do for months!

Now have very crampy period like pains, they aren't contractions but I am having very strong braxton hicks and a bit of back ache. Does it sound like the beginning of labour? I haven't lost my mucous plug yet. Do I start timing the bh? Or will it be obvious when real contractions start? I feel so clueless!

Actually I haven't a clue whether they are still braxton hicks or if they are real contractions because I have that nagging period pain feeling it is hard to tell.

AdelaideJo · 19/04/2010 18:24

Dolls I wonder if you've had a "lightening" where baby has dropped down and isn't crushing your lungs up so much - you might be starting! How exciting!

I didn't lose my plug at all last time, in fact, I wouldn't even know what it looked like, or a show for that matter! All I had to go on was the contractions..

My back has ached for over a week but it turns our that stomach upset last week was just that as I am now constipated .

Bood i'm going to have a bath later on after dinner and will put the oil in.
Just booked acupuncture for Thursday morning as I had it for DS and the labour started 2 days later so I sort of really believe it works to be honest (just my opinion though).

thedollshouse · 19/04/2010 18:33

Thanks AdelaideJo. Good to know that not everyone loses their plug, I kept saying to dh that labour isn't likely to start as I haven't lost my plug. I feel your pain with the constipation - not one of the best things about pregnancy.

Put a few drops of Clary Sage oil on a warm flannel on my bump earlier while DS was in the bath. Since then, the baby has been moving around like a wild thing - loads of prods down below which are getting quite uncomfortable. Does it not like the Clary Sage, or is this the start of something????

Just ordered a Madras too so hopefully the combination will start things off

AdelaideJo · 19/04/2010 20:33

Zeeky i'm about to get in the bath with the oil BUT i'm wondering if its the right thing to do as the baby has been trying to claw its way out of the upper front of my belly for about 3 hours now, i can't sit down because squashing it up seems to make it prod more - i'm also really uncomfortable and wondering what i've done.

And i'm full of wind . So i'm also not sure if there are lots of bubbles which are irritating the baby.

Wish I had the answers to all of our questions!

Wiz whats yours doing tonight?

Added my gorgeous lil' boy to the list. He arrived by emergency c-section on 17th April after prolonged 2nd stage labour. 1st stage labour - piece of cake! 2nd stage, back to back baby with wrongly postioned head... owwwww.
Got home today, he's beautiful and looks so much like his daddy! Breast feeding not going to plan, he's doing very well on bottles though.
I am very sore but very happy! I will catch up on the other posts soon but now gonna go stare at my sleeping baby!

Zeeky · 20/04/2010 01:48

Congrats Rumpleteaser - sorry that things didn't go to plan but glad to hear you finally have your little one.

Up with curry heartburn - maybe the madras was a bad idea as no sign of contractions, just can't sleep instead!

PrincessTweetz · 20/04/2010 06:56

Congrats Rumple Hope you feel better soon....happy staring!! ;)
TheDollsHouse..just wondering if there was any news yet??My labour with Jude started out as a constant period like pain, and I never lost my plug either....until midwife examined me and told me I was 7cms dilated!!
Good luck!!
Also, was reading the after-birth thread (I'm sorry, that sounds really gross, but I've had mindblank..it happens a lot to me these days!! ) and I believe Dani87 's lil girl is called Ebony-Mae...

PrincessTweetz · 20/04/2010 06:58

Oooops....the word I was looking for was Post-natal thread......sorry!!!! x

Mistymoo · 20/04/2010 08:04

Congratulations Rumple

Well Zeeky our date is here and no babies yet! I'm not allowed to start until tomorrow afternoon according to dh - he has to do something at work tomorrow! Hope your OK

Bettymum · 20/04/2010 08:27

MOrning all, congratulations Rumpleteaser! So glad your little boy is here safe and well .
Glad so many of you like the name Alexander, my DH wanted the name Wolf. Not Wilf, Wolf. He reckoned Wolf would give him success with the ladies in later years, I said no he'll just end up with a playground full of kids howling at him! I couldn't convince him that Wolf is not a suitable name for a chubby little boy with gorgeous dimples in his cheeks, so we have ended up with Alexander Wolf. I guess it has a certain ring to it . We are registering the birth together tomorrow, I don't think DH trusts me .
dolls sounds like things might be on the move! Good luck!

Jennysbean · 20/04/2010 08:34

Congratulations Rumple well done and glad your little man made it safely into the world.
Dollshouse how are you? I had constant period pain all afternoon and contractions that woke me up at 2 am. But here I am again, have resigned myself to Friday - have to go to the hospital at 5pm to have my waters broken.....eek

ilovesprouts · 20/04/2010 11:36

congrats to all the new mummys

AdelaideJo · 20/04/2010 13:56

Wiz i'm so tired I feel like I hardly slept and my eyes sting constantly..on the plus side, last night I had one leaking boob which has never happened to me before (!) and also my DP said I smelled "funny" (nice)......he reckons like chemicals of some kind. I'm DESPERATE for the baby to come now!

I also really love pineapple and necked lots of it last pregnancy, but it also made my heartburn far far worse so this time, nope.

Toady · 20/04/2010 15:42

dollshouse

you sound like you are going through the same things as me, as you know at the weekend I could barely walk because of the pressure bearing down, sunday night, yesterday and today no problem with that but did have back ache and cramps last night which disappeared over night. For me it is baby engaging and then disengaging again but this is my fourth so should expect it really. This afternoon the baby has moved down again but not as bad as the weekend so just slightly uncomfortable.

Anytime after thursday would be convenient for me so hopefully not long now!!

ilovesprouts · 20/04/2010 15:49

my dd ate lots of pinneaple today,i ate lots when i was pg whith ds2 but did not do anything
