rumpleteaser · 16/04/2010 18:49

Got some Clary Sage oil today, and gonna get DP to massage me in it (diluted in carrier oil). After he's finished painting my toenails!
Anyone tried this?

Zeeky · 16/04/2010 19:01

Got some clary sage oil today too. Not sure when I'll start using it yet though. Had a pedicure this morning which was lovely, and got my hair done on Wednesday, so just got to try and sort out my yeti-like lady bits & then I'm ready for baby to come.

DS started nursery on Wednesday morning and went again today. It was very traumatic for me leaving him there as he didn't want to go and was clinging on to me and screaming They said he was fine after a while, but he gets teary every time I mention going to nursery again next week and keeps begging to stay home with mummy. It breaks my heart. Any tips from those of you who have been through similar with LO's?really hoped he'd be happy & settled before baby arrived

Jennysbean · 16/04/2010 19:14

dollshouse - the sweep was fine, It is a bit uncomfortable so just remember your breathing.
MW said i was about 3 cm dilated and she could feel everything was soft and lookimng good to go, have however been booked for induction next Friday when i will be 40+13 (!!) too hellish to even contemplate frankly.
Took DD to the botanics this afternoon with DH and felt really crampy and still do but not sure if that just sweep related or something finally shifting!
Zeeky poor you, it is hard when they cry, the girls at the nursery will have been through this so many times and they will be making him feel really special and really looking out for him when he is there. It just takes a wee bit of time, before you know it he will be crying because you want to take him home! Until then talk to him really positively about nursery and praise him loads for going. It will get better xx

Mistymoo · 16/04/2010 20:05

zeeky My only tip for you leaving your ds at nursery is to take him in and say goodbye and go. Let the nursery staff take him. It is difficult but that is really the best and quickest way to deal with it. I worked in a nursery until maternity leave started and have found this to be the best way. I do know it's difficult though as my dd was very clingy and it was a very emotional time, and I wasn't pregnant!

Zeeky · 16/04/2010 22:08

Thanks for advice jennysbean and mistymoo. Do you think it would be easier for him if DH dropped him off instead or would reinforce his feelings that mummy has abandoned him?

rumpleteaser · 17/04/2010 02:27

Oooh I just had a show and what I believe to be 2 contractions... I thought they were supposed to start off gentle.. Whatever that was, was agony

PrincessTweetz · 17/04/2010 07:08

Good luck rumpleteaser...wondering if you've had your lil cherub yet as I'm writing!!
zeeky, could you take him to nursery together? Just thinking it may take anxiety off you, and together you could try and keep the journey there lighthearted and fun, and throw lots of excitable, positive comments about the day ahead with each other. Hope he starts feeling better about nursery soon, I'm sure he will! x

Bettymum · 17/04/2010 08:58

Princess no name yet, DH and I are still arguing in discussions . It took us a week or so to name DD, we're not very good at reaching a conclusion. He is also fixated on a daft name that I am vetoing. So it could be a while yet....
Rumpleteaser good luck! Sounds like things might be on the way. Good job you have pretty toenails .
Zeeky no real adivce for you, DD started nursery at 8 months I was sad but she was fine, I think maybe it's almost easier when they're little. Now I struggle to get her out of the place. Of the ones that weren't happy to start, they're all super happy now, it just takes a bit of getting used to. Hope things improve for you both.

thedollshouse · 17/04/2010 11:02

Good luck rumpleteaser, hope you are doing ok.

I've got bloody thrush which is the last thing I needed, I think I've had it for months but I didn't go to the GP as I can't see below my tummy and wasn't exactly sure what was down there. It was picked up on my strep b test. I'm supposed to be having a sweeep on Monday but not sure if it is advisable with thrush don't want to make things any worse in that area!

I'm so huge now that people are actually doing a double take when they see me. I went to Mothercare yesterday to buy a postnatal support vest and had to buy myself a size 20! I'm becoming very anxious and have convinced myself that I have gestational diabetes, I don't really have any symptoms apart from the thrush and my size but when I get anxious I convince myself I have all sorts.

I don't think this baby is coming any time soon, I think he is hanging on in there until the elective next Friday.

All I have done this pregnancy is moan and groan, I promise I will be more positive once I get onto the postnatal thread!

pillia78 · 17/04/2010 14:10

Rumpleteaser I bought some yesterday and the had a twinge and panicked so haven't tried it yet, I know people who have used it and swear by it. Sounds as if something is happening for you though!!!
Dollshouse I am exactly the same, full of moans and groans and minor ailments that are wearing me down and I kept convincing myself I had diabetes as I am huge for me but actually bump measuring 39 weeks, I am sure we are all the same at times!!

Baby girl Daisy has arrived. She decided to finally join us yesterday morning at 6.16am. In a flurry. Will tell more later, we're just home today enjoying the peace as she's quite sleepy.

Good luck to everyone still waiting (DwayneDibbley!) and congratulations to the new mums.

Dollshouse I got thrush in the last week and just used a pessary every night. It's such a pain though.

ilovesprouts · 17/04/2010 16:31

Well done thighs !! Totally jealous. Am feeling mega crap now. Upset tummy the minute I open my eyes in the morning, over emotional or just plain snippy, and DP has begun his paternity leave suddenly yesterday as I just could not cope with my DS any longer and wasn't really getting any kind of support. I can barely put one foot in front of the other by 3pm and my DS has decided to start the terrible two's this very week.

I'm praying I don't go 2 weeks over as that is all the paternity leave in one go. Oh well it is what it is.

Moan moan moan.

Congratulations thighs

I've had lots of BH too but not amounting to much but I'm just hoping that they are doing something to prepare for the birth!

thedollshouse · 17/04/2010 19:27

Good luck for tomorrow DwayneDibbley, you never know you might go into labour tonight. Look forward to hearing from you soon.

pillia78 · 17/04/2010 21:20

Good luck Dwayne I was induced with DS2 and I promise you that it was a really positive experience. Not much happened for me until they broke my waters but I got loads of attention and support from the Midwives etc. having my waters broken wasn't painful. Hope it all goes well for you, I found the worst bit was the waiting to get to that date!

Zeeky · 17/04/2010 22:30

Good luck Dwayne. Hope it's not as bad as you are thinking. I'm due Monday & really hoping I don't go very overdue as hoping for birthing centre birth this time too which will go out the window if I have to be induced.

Look forward to hearing yours news Dwayne and yours too Rumpleteaser!
