Boodstress glad your baby turned. I have to wait until Monday to have mine turned. I've also been told that I'll have a big baby but I'm not too surprised as I've already had two 9lbers

Princess what lovely photos. Congratulations.

PrincessTweetz · 01/04/2010 08:58

Thank you tostaky....I'm really glad I got the doll and accessories for dd, cuz she's really interested in whatever I do, and she can do the things she can't help me with on her own doll.
Good luck with the walk!! x

PrincessTweetz · 01/04/2010 08:59

Oooh, thanks mistymoo as well

thedollshouse · 01/04/2010 09:00

Princess he is gorgeous I can see why you are so proud!

Boodstress a relief to hear that your little one has turned. I'm a bit anxious because I will be having a vbac and I don't know how big my baby is. My doctor has not exactly been most helpful when I asked him how big he was he said "I don't know I guess about average, I suppose". When I was having ds1 they were able to tell me a weight when I was having a scan. Most people I know that have had VBAC's have had growth scans but my doctor wasn't even going to give me a scan at first. This baby was in the oblique breech position, midwife said that he had turned I asked for confirmation from the doctor and he said "I think he has turned" I said "think" is not really good enough which is why he then scanned me but he literally just looked to see what position he was in he didn't check growth or weight at all.

Boodstress · 01/04/2010 09:19

thedollshouse I would push for the growth scan as well, I was told by the obst after he just had a root around my tummy that it was no where near as big as DS1 (9lb6) but I pushed for the growth scan as well as the presentation and it is in fact a big ole baby again so at least we know what we are dealing with and they will repeat at 40 weeks. If nothing else I had no blinking babygros that fit DS1 in hospital - i'll be prepared this time. Good luck

Jennysbean · 01/04/2010 09:38

Princess you should be very proud, he is lovely and you look like a really happy family!
Tostaky, the 'have you had it yet calls and texts are a bit annoying but hey ho!' and I find that if i don't reply straight away they intensify!!
After a few days of contractions they seem to have eased off so I have decided to not wish time away any more and enjoy the relative peace, DD is tucked up for her nap and I am just going to relax, got a date with DH tomorrow night and DD is away staying with her grandparents from lunchtime tomorrow until Saturday late afternoon so I am going to enjoy some chill out time.....sods law I will go into labour tomorrow afternoon!
Looking forward to more babies!
x

Princess lovely photos! What a cutie. I love the one of you all 15 minutes after his birth, it is sweet.
linkey congratulations on baby Hazel! Hope your - ahem - nether regions are recovering.
Planning a quietish day here today, but the sun is out so may wander down to my new allotment and start picking the bits of broken glass out of it (it's on the other side of the fence to a pub) since I don't want DD down there with glass around.
Hope everyone else is well, wonder how many easter deliveries we'll get??!

flybynight · 01/04/2010 09:58

Congrats lineky - Hazel is such a lovely name. We must hear more about the medical case study. Maybe after we've all delivered?I do love a medical marvel.

And Princess your pics are lovely. I must admit, I welled up a bit. Again.

Snowtiger · 01/04/2010 11:12

Lineky congratulations on baby Hazel (hope you recover quickly - put tea tree oil in your bath and use calendula cream to help things heal down there!), and love the pics Princess. Isn't it great that little ones are arriving and the sun's shining, the daffs are in bloom.... >

Ahem.

I'm just back from the midwife this morning - she was lovely, had a good old root around and helped me to feel baby's backbone and head - he's the right way round, head 3/5 engaged, locked and loaded and ready to go apparently! "Any time now" she said! Cripes.

I feel a bit relieved now that it's April - all the pressure I felt to get him out before April / Easter, for various (and faintly daft, let's face it) reasons, has evaporated and I now feel quite happy just to let him arrive when he wants to. Sods law I'll probably go into labour tonight then. I'm off for a bath now - had to get DS1 up super-early to get him to nursery so that I could get to the hospital for my midwife appt. at 9am, and didn't have time for one, so am going to luxuriate in all sorts of bubbles and oils and potions. What a treat!

Will be checking back later to see the news - hope that Hoops and Nic are doing OK!

thighsmadeofcheddar · 01/04/2010 17:42

Congratulations to all the new mums. How exciting. I'm so nervous about doing this all again, but it's too late now.....

lineky · 01/04/2010 19:04

Thanks for all the congrats - hope things start moving for others soon

You are probably right Dwayne I think I'm just getting a bit nervous about everything right now.

I have been lucky with the phonecalls, I was expecting to get loads but I seem to have been let off the hook. MIL phones once a day but once a day is actually quite good for her I was expecting her to want hourly updates.

I feel really strange at the moment in a "what have I done? " sort of way. Its a really weird feeling isn't it? Not having any idea when your body and baby will decide that its time. When I have my period I normally feel a bit anxious and have a headache and aches and pains for about a day before, I'm wondering if it will be the same with labour. Still getting heartburn so I think have a way to go yet, I could be wrong though...

ilovesprouts · 01/04/2010 20:32

awwh what lovely pics cant wait for my 2 grandkids to be here xx

Zeeky · 01/04/2010 21:00

Great pics Princess!

Was hoping there would be some more baby announcement today. Probably won't be logging on over the Easter weekend as staying with my parents, so hopefully by Tuesday there will be lots of lovely news to catch up on

tostaky · 02/04/2010 07:38

40+1 today.... I was feeling a bit down last night because I am past my due date, but I am more upbeat about it this morning.
Still, you wait for 9 months for a date and then... nothing!
It's like christmas is no longer on the 25th of december

Mistymoo · 02/04/2010 07:42

tostaky I know how you feel. I was late with my first two but in the end you forget all those feelings when the baby arrives. This time I've told myself that I'll be late so I won't be disappointed. I don't know if it will work though because you still have the date in your head!

Bettymum · 02/04/2010 10:44

Morning ladies! In a bad mood with DH this morning as he went out at 9 o'clock to a leaving do at the rugby club without his phone saying he'd just have the one, and he came home at 2.30 this morning!! . I was almost wishing I'd had the baby so I could tell him when he was older "well, your dad wasn't there when you were born as he was AT THE PUB WITHOUT HIS PHONE." Grrrrrrr.
Making a nice mango mousse and a chicken curry for a special Good Friday lunch to cheer myself upn .

Neeko · 02/04/2010 16:39

Hi all. Just popping on quickly to let you know we named DD2 Hannah. The waterbirth was amazing and left me feeling like superwoman!
Passed a one litre clot with the placenta so having to take things quite slowly but glad to be home with my girls. I've posted a pic on my profile.

Congrats to all the other new mummies and good luck to everyone else. I'll be back when I can. take care all.

stinkypinky · 02/04/2010 17:15

Neeko - hoping pic is of baby, not clot! That is a big clot!

Snowtiger · 02/04/2010 17:38

Wow Neeko you poor thing, that's one hell of a clot you passed, hope you are able to take it easy while you get your strength back. Congrats on little Hannah, what a lovely name.

I thought I was going into labour this morning - woke up at 3am on the dot with pains, was awake til 5am, then woken up at 6am and 6:30 with pains / contractions, but they've since tailed off throughout the day, much to my disgust! I'm not exactly looking forward to labour and birth but having been awake (and thinking about everything) for two hours in the night I'd sort of geared myself up for it.

I've been doing reflexology all day and have just had a couple of pains / contractions 15 mins apart so am thinking maybe things are ramping up again... just when I'd relaxed and decided that a glass of wine, a Thai curry and Gardener's World was looking like quite a nice plan for the evening!

Anyone else got any pains / symptoms?

thedollshouse · 02/04/2010 18:02

Neeko - She is beautiful, well done you!

Snowtiger - I don't think I am having any symptoms. Absolutely shattered today and have just had a long nap on the sofa. Thai curry sounds lovely, I think I might have that tomorrow night.

Bettymum - I hope your dh is making it up to you today. I must admit I did chuckle when you said that you half hoped baby would arrive last night so that dh would have missed it. That very nearly happened with my niece, her dh was down the rugby club and she phoned the club to tell him to come home and got a message back from him saying "I'll stay for another one, call again when you get to the pushing stage".

Mistymoo · 02/04/2010 18:23

Neeko what a lovely picture. Hope everyone is running around after you and you are being pampered

40+2.... No pains/no symptoms/zilch!
I dreamt i had a sweep and the midwife was saying that my cervix was still very high and not ripe and that the sweep did nothing...

Dwayne did you go to the movie last night? I went to see the clash of the titan with DP but had to get out in the middle of the film bc i was so uncomfortable in those seat + far too hot

Neeko thanks for the picture!! She is lovely!
