Congratulations princesstweetz I wish my little boy would make an appearance

chegirlWILLbeserene · 25/03/2010 20:17

princess so glad its all lovely for you Yes after pains are horrible 2nd time. They are worse 3rd time and I am absolutly dreading them this time

Hoops lets hope this is it.

I have gone right off my MW. She is giving me grief about my homebirth. I am getting very stressed although I am having lovely support on the childbirth thread.

Who is due next? I am not due till 10th April so a couple of weeks to go (although MW keeps saying 'it could be any time' in a panicky way ).

Toady · 25/03/2010 21:01

congratulations princess how exciting.

37 weeks on saturday and all systems go for my homebirth, getting very excited now and ready to go from saturday although I suspect baby might be a few weeks away yet, due date April 17th - 27th.

Neeko · 25/03/2010 22:33

Congratulations Princess and fingers crossed Hoops

I lost my plug this morning and like Hoops am hoping this is the beginnning of something. I'm scheduled for an induction on Monday but it would be lovely if things happened naturally over the weekend. Fingers crossed.

Oh, and not sure if this is what caused the plug to go, but I convinced hubby to get busy last night for the first time in months... Princess inspired me

thedollshouse · 26/03/2010 13:21

Oh good luck thehuntress hopefully it won't be long for you either.

tostaky · 26/03/2010 13:34

It looks like all those neglected DPs and DHs will get lucky in April (at least for a few days!)
My DS is going to my parents tomorrow so saturday evening should be a busy night for us too!!!

Neeko im sure it is going to be your turn very soon! Nobody has ever got to 10 months!

Dwayne have you found a name then? I think we'll go for Cosmo even though it doesnt start with an "A"

thehuntress how exciting!!!

Bettymum · 26/03/2010 13:37

at all the husbands/partners getting lucky. My DH isn't getting any till after Easter Weekend is over.
I told DH excitedly this morning, Ooh one of the girls on the antenatal thread has lost her mucous plug! He went a bit green.
thehuntress good luck over the weekend!

thedollshouse · 26/03/2010 13:41

I don't think my dh will be getting lucky, I can't even open my legs at the moment without letting out a yelp! Could prove tricky in labour.

flybynight · 26/03/2010 13:56

Gosh Bettymum, you do know how to talk dirty to a man, don't you? It'll take him until after the Easter weekend to recover.

Quick side question to homebirthers, what is in the hb kit that I hear being mentioned. Whatever it is, I don't think they do it here. The MW said a canister of G&A and a canister of oxygen would be ordered once I was in established labour. Bearing in mind my last established labour was 20 mins, what do you reckon my chances are of it arriving? I'm more bothered about the oxygen that the G&A - in case the baby needs it...

rumpleteaser · 26/03/2010 15:01

Wow it's all happening now, I just had to catch up on about 20 pages as only just got internet working. Congrats to the first 2 to pop, I like the idea of the new list, or adding to the old one or something.
hoops that sounds so frustrating, hope it all happens now for you!
Will everyone be putting pics on their profiles of new arrivals? I've got pics of our new pram on Facebook! DP is obsessed with it, putting it up and down testing the straps.. on a teddy..

My 1st UK scan is on Tuesday, been waiting ages.
After being told nothing wrong with my foot I now have to see some specialist or other as it may be fractured..
Had citalopram changed to Sertraline so I can breastfeed.
Nowt else new with me!

Packed hospital bag, the breast pads and towels DO take up all the space!!

Is everyone leaking milk? I'm not and a I'm bit worried. Didn't help I had a dream that I had 2 babies and 2 empty boobs!

Snowtiger · 26/03/2010 15:14

Exciting news all round isn't it?!

I'm not leaking rumpleteaser, I was a bit last week but it seems to have stopped. Likewise I had period-type pains this morning and got all excited that things might be happening but they've disappeared and I'm very disappointed! Having yet another hot curry tonight and DH seems to think his luck might be in ...

Back to mundanity, got to persuade DS1 that a trip to Tesco is a much more inviting prospect for this afternoon's entertainment than back to back Thomas the tank engine DVDs. Actually I'd prefer the latter too, while I mess about on MN but that's not going to fill the fridge is it. Sigh. Should have thought ahead and done an online shop!

Good luck all, looking forward to the next installment!

chegirlWILLbeserene · 26/03/2010 15:24

flybynight

Dont worry it hasnt got anything exciting in it

Its stuff like plastic aprons and measuring tapes. Its a big bag so I will have a look later. I am not sure whats in it but the mws last time bought G&A and resuss stuff with them when the came to the birth. I think it has more mundane admin and gloves type stuff in it.

That reminds me the MW said she had to get birthing pack out of the car and left without doing it. She is nice but a bit on the flaky side. Every time I talk to her she has forgotten something somewhere.

She'd better not forget the G&A!

Have informed OH he wont be getting lucky till I get the results of my iron levels back. I am not risking having this baby before mine are 11 at least!

spaghettina · 26/03/2010 16:02

Haven't been on here for ages but I finally have some time to post..
Many congratulations to Princess, sounds like a pretty good experience!

I'm due next Saturday and am just hoping not to go too far overdue. I've had no signs or twinges yet, and only a couple of Braxton Hicks (and no leaking either Rumpleteaser). Feeling pretty calm, everyone keeps asking me if I'm nervous or scared but...I'm fine. Probably just in denial! DP is the one who's stressed and nervous so I guess one of us has to keep calm

We finally put the crib up yesterday in our bedroom, my hopsital bags are packed..not sure what else I can do now.
Had been meaning to do perineal massage from week 36 but am too lazy/squeamish so I've only bothered a couple of times, hope I won't live to regret it...

Bettymum · 26/03/2010 16:06

Had a MW visit this afternoon, to make up for missing Wednesday. My iron levels have shot up to over 12 from 10.7, hurrah.
flybynight I find it very exciting that mucous plugs are being lost but must remember that DH really doesn't want to know. I have been intrigued by these HB packs too, didn't have anything dropped off pre-birth with DD, and nothing this time either. I'm in Berkshire, maybe there are different policies in different areas? Actually I do have a sheaf of paperwork to hand to the MW who attends a home delivery.
chegirl does this mean you're getting your HB?? I saw your other thread but didn't have much of help to say, other than your MW sounds horrible.
rumpleteaser welcome back .
Well, after saying DH wasn't getting any till after easter, the MW of course mentioned that sex was one of the ways to try and bring on labour, so as soon as she'd left he dragged me upstairs . Now have visions of baby arriving tonight, I have no TENS as our little town Boots doesn't keep any in stock, they have to order them in and it hasn't arrived yet, however I have just blown up my gym ball. So at least I can bounce .

lineky · 26/03/2010 16:43

Hello all its all go isnt it!!
Midwife this morning and my bloody blood pressure was sky high so it was straight to the hospital for me! Now on meds and to be monitored every 2 days Also to have a sweep at 39 weeks if no action - don't know how I feel about that, suppose chances of going over are getting slimmer. I am 37+4 today.
All in all an odd day - really just can't wait ot get going now - maybe my DH's luck will change this weekend too...
Hoops really hope this is it for you.

rlp · 26/03/2010 17:11

I'm not much of a poster but I thought I would report that I had an urgent hospital visit at midnight as I was bleeding and I am not quite 36 weeks yet. It seems it was only a small amount of blood and friends have questioned if it was a shoe - but it was red blood with no clots or mucous in so it does not seem that way. I was hooked up to a monitor for about 40 mins and had an internal exam. They were satisfied that the bleeding had stopped so I came home. It was well timed in that my parent's were visiting so we had built in babysitting for DD1. There was no pain with the bleeding but I jump at every twinge now, (I haven't been comfortable for weeks). I am booked for a home waterbirth but I think those plans need me to reach 37 weeks first (certainly, that is when I get the pool!)
I was tidying the house in preparation for letting the midwife see. I daren't carry anything now and there is so much to do!

Bettymum · 26/03/2010 17:44

lineky hope your BP sorts itself out .
rlp hope you are OK too, urgent hospital visits at midnight don't sound good. Hope everything goes well over the weekend.
Everyone else, have a lovely weekend!
