No home grown veg this year, but will be using washables - from DD (fuzzis) and DETERMINED to get my moneys worth!

Am beginning to nest (SPD allowing)

HoopsAndBelly · 24/03/2010 20:18

hello everyone, quick update, WAS in labour but everything stopped and I have been in and out of bloody hospital for the last 2 sodding weeks, being induced next wednesday if nothing happens in the meantime, so no mini-hoops just yet

I am sitting at 2 cms dilated and keep having v painful contractions that just won't speed up/become regular.......have had a stretch and sweep today in the hope of setting things off again nothing has happened yet.......this is so bloody frustrating that I want to cry

Congratulations pumagirl hopefully won't be too far behind you!!

Sorry I haven't read the thread and really hope everyone is ok

tostaky · 24/03/2010 20:47

Oh Hoops... i hope you are not too disappointed... Let's hope the sweep works!

chegirlWILLbeserene · 24/03/2010 21:03

Congrats puma

hoops sounds horrible for you. Hope things get going soon.

I am 37+ 4. I am getting some odd feelings but not sure if I am just wishing this baby out! Its my 4th birth child. I had DC4 two years ago so quite a short break between, last break was 15 years! (DC3 adopted).

I woke up last night with pain in my pelvic area (bit like ovary pain though I am not sure my anatomy knowledge is spot on!).

I have been getting a ton of BH but they are different. They dont hurt so much as make you hold your breath. I am using them to practice my hypnobirthing/yoga breathing!

On lots of iron tablets so maybe is gut pain rather than baby pain (TMI!).

My 2nd baby was a week early but all the others were 3 days over.

Anyone else on + 4 DC who can advise me?

I keep tidying up just in case I go into labour. Havnt got my homebirth kit yet as MW is lovely but a wee bit flaky. I am sure I have an appt tommorow but she hasnt let me know what time. Really need to know what my Hb is. V.important its up enough for me to have baby at home.

Sorry for ramble - havent been on for ages

PrincessTweetz · 24/03/2010 22:14

Best of luck princess. I hope this is an end to your frustration!

Neeko · 25/03/2010 09:57

Hoops sorry to hear of your tough time. Hope the lo is out soon.

Good luck princess

Snowtiger · 25/03/2010 10:08

Good luck Princess, how exciting! Let us know how you get on.

Sorry to hear of your frustrations Hoops, you must be climbing the walls. Let's hope things get cracking soon. Fancy a curry?

Chegirl it's great to see you back, you've not been on for ages have you? Hope your MW gets her act together and sorts out the homebirth stuff for you.

I'm feeling a bit grim today as I had a migraine last night which has knocked me sideways - fortunately today is one of DS1's nursery days so I've taken him there and am now on the sofa trying to ignore the to-do list of laundry, ironing and "weed the veg beds"...! I find it hard to take things easy, I've always got a mental list of things I should be doing, but if I don't rest today I think I might never get the chance again.

I'm 37+4 as well, Chegirl and wondering if this migraine was a sign of things happening, as I used to get them as a teenager a day or so before my period, so think it might be hormone related... gulp!

Good luck everyone and keep us up to date with all the developments, it's great to hear the details no matter how gory or grim - no such thing as TMI on this thread!!

Bettymum · 25/03/2010 10:23

Morning everyone,
hoops aargh! You poor thing! Hope the sweep gets things going for you. Must be really hard .
princess exciting! Will be waiting for more news from you!
I am feeling sorry for myself today, had to run after DD in a carpark yesterday to stop her running out past the car, and with either that or the struggling-toddler-wrestling I think I've pulled something between my legs . It's sooo sore. Had to get DH to turn me over in bed as I can't even do that! I also managed to get muddled up with my midwife appts yesterday and arrived at 2.30 for a 2.00 appointment, and was sent away by the receptionist with "well, she can't see you, you're too late." So I spent most of the afternoon crying - I'm 38 weeks and that was my last booked midwife appt.
Anyway, I think I'm fine and I think baby's fine although the more I feel the bits of him sticking out the more I think hmmm he feels a lot bigger than DD did!

flybynight · 25/03/2010 10:42

Poor you Bettymum. That's the kind of thing that would have me in tears too. Make sure you phone for reassurance if anything is bothering you. The pain between your legs sounds very much like SPD. Keep those knees together!

My MW is coming for the home check today. Other than checking we have running water and mains electricity I'm not sure what she is going to do. (Note to self: pay enormous electricity bill before we get cut off).

Boodstress · 25/03/2010 11:31

Good luck Princess - you sound pretty calm, look forward to an update (although obviously not at the expense of important things like pushing )

Hoops I hope things move naturally for you and quickly. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for you.

Bettymum my midwife is very unforgiving about stuff like that - and about me forgetting my notes which I have done twice I have left in tears on several occasions feeling like an 8 yr old who forgot her homework. I would make another appointment if you can, just for peace of mind. Sometimes you just need someone to smile, check you over and tell you what a great job you are doing and everything is fine.
[MOAN ALERT]
I am crossing everything that my reflexologist turns the baby this evening. It seems to be moving lower whilst in the breech position and the pressure on my crummy SPD riddled pelvis is just too much.

SO - I have just demolished a pack of miniture maryland cookies which was sitting alongside the fruit bowl winking at me as I typed. That actually helped alot

PrincessTweetz · 25/03/2010 13:51

Thanx everyone...HE'S HERE!!!!!
This bit is probably WAY tmi but after doing the dirty deed for the first time in about 4 months , I started feeling really bad belly ache pains almost straight qaway!!! I was thinking, that surely couldn't have worked soooo soon!! But they didn't go away,so at about 8.30pm I had another bath to soothe them, they were just like a persistent period pain...I was thinking this could be the real deal, but wasn't sure...I felt like that throughout the night tho! I rang my mum to warn her about the pains, then at around 10pm I think, Iain went round to drop the dog off, and pick her up...I began feeling very guilty for bringing her round so soon, as I couldn't distinguish a 'proper' contarction'as the pain was just so constant...and I felt very silly trying to have Iain explain this to the midwife, esp since my waters hadn't broken, but as I was having homebirth, didn't know how soon to call, and could see my mum panicking slightly!
At 11 I was told by midwife to wait til I was 5 mins apart, or waters break before ringing back...went for a very wet walk up and down the street to try and keep things moving..that was at 12.30...the police must have thought me and Iain were up to no good in black coats with our hoods up, first walking one way, then walking the opposite way, so decided to go in house as I saw them stop just a lil further down from us...I really didn't want to explain what I was doing!!!!
I was worried I wouldn't be progressing very good, had another bath....I'd taken my tens off a good while before this as well...and then started noticing they were coming every 5 mins....left them coming every 5 mins until at 2am Iain rang up again to let them know....I was sure at this point they would tell me to go into hospital, but they never!! Yay..just said they would get int ouch with community midwife..about 15 mins later, while I was trying to have a poo!! the midwife rang, and we had to tell her they seemed to be getting quicker. She turned up, and examined me...I was 7 cms...woohoo...I was VERY happy!!! Pains were sooooo much stronger by this point, but I stayed off gas and air..waters were still entact as well. Second midwife came, I stayed on my ball bouncing away...trying to breathe out the pains...I actually did far better than I thought I would do, but pains got unbearable..I got on sofa...ooooh I also had a sweep when first midwife came.... I didn't like it..thought her hands were going to come through my throat! That was when I was told I was 7cm.
I was worried that I wouldn't know how much to push if waters didn't go...dd started waking at 5.15am, but between my mum and Iain, she was just told it was too early and had to saty in bed...Iain said she had asked where I was and why wasn't I in bed, bless her! He told her I was just about to go up hehe...she was very well behaved, I sent my mum up to her at 5.50, knowing she would find it hard as she is normally up at this time, so mum missed the pushing part (she was glad) I had urges to push, followed by a contraction that never really pushed me that far..I had a go on gas and air, afetr midwives found they had picked up wrong one, and it had some sort of astand on..but she also found a tenner so was very happy as she had breakfast sorted for herself haha..it made me feel really bad so didn't really bother again with it...with one of the pushes, my waters popped and exploded!! Just know Iain is going to have great pleasure telling people how far they shot at..i was later told I almost hit one of mw in face ..ooops!!
It happened wiered then, as sometimes I felt like I was staring at sofa in world of my own for hours, and other times I needed to push...I pushed, and scared myself at how intense it was..it seemed to take long time but obv didnt..i had what seemed like lots of really strong pushes in one go, had to pant and head was out, then a wait and body came out...and so was born my baby boy jude alistair charles....weighing 7lbs...was born at 6.26am..didnt have stitches, but do have a slight tear...i must say i wasnt expecting to feel so sore ...had a little sleep and now am letting iain doze upstairs after hes done cleaning and cooking and getting used to my everyday jobs hehe....sorry if this is a bit muddled!! im sitting with a very snuffly nosed jude now...he looks nothing like i thought he was going to, and looks nothing like makenzi-shei either..will put up fotos later xxxxxx

Bettymum · 25/03/2010 14:20

Ah, that is such a lovely story! Lol at you and your DP walking suspiciously up and down the road in sight of the police car.
Very very impressed at your focus and your lack of pain relief, sounds like you did a great job. Lol at the exploding waters .
Look forward to seeing photos of your little boy, enjoy your sniffly cuddles!

thedollshouse · 25/03/2010 14:24

Oh congratulations Princess what a lovely birth story!

We have two babies here now, its making me well up.

Hoops sorry to hear you haven't had your baby yet, hopefully you will be next.

I am 37+4 and had an antenatal appointment today. The midwife says I am 3/5 engaged and she doesn't think I will be that long now. Feeling a bit scared now...

Boodstress · 25/03/2010 14:29

oooh well done, thank you for the detail PrincessTweetz - you did incredibly well. That is the perfect scenario really and I can't believe you are already at the PC. It sounded like you got 'in the zone' - I'm one of 9 and my mum had very easy births, she maintains you get into a kind of catatonic state. I hope I get to experience it like that this time round .
Take it easy and enjoy the lovely Jude

Snowtiger · 25/03/2010 14:37

Congratulations Princess and welcome to little baby Jude! Fantastic news!

stinkypinky · 25/03/2010 14:49

Aww! Well done Princess! Welcome Jude! How is big sis coping with it all?

flybynight · 25/03/2010 15:05

Fantastic news princesstweetz. Many congratulations.

PrincessTweetz · 25/03/2010 15:47

Thanx everyone!!! Just having a quick snatch at comp again lol!!! Jude's now tucked up nicely, so is daddy hehe....stinkypinky big sis is doing VERY well!! She has pulled her little doll's cot next to moses basket and has put her Jude in there, with a comfort toy, and one of 'real' Jude's blankets...sooo cute!! When I take Jude out to feed him, she puts her baba in basket and tucks it up really well....she has also insisted that she feed her baba on her boobs tho...so not sure how that will go down at stay n play!!
Afterpains second time round are awful aren't they?! Make me wanna cry sometimes!!
Boodstress...I'm not sure I managed tht well..dp, midwives, and my mum said I did fine, but I really got a bit scared at pushing this time..felt like I made a lot of noise but dp and midwives said I just grunted along with the pushes...I felt like maybe I wasn't in as much control of myself as I was with dd...I've already been asked if I still want another 3 more!!!! The answer is yes.....in time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck dollshouse...you'll be fine...and soon be cuddling your own lil cherub!! xx
