I'm with you rene, am sick of cleaning, I think I did the nesting stuff a bit early.

I'm itching to get on in the garden though. Did half an hour today, clearing a few weeds and cutting back some straggly bits and it knocked me sideways. SO frustrating!!

Zeeky · 23/03/2010 20:26

Been doing lots of cooking for the freezer - shepherd's pie and chicken casserole so far - beef casserole and chilli tomorrow hopefully. Totally cream-creackered now, just from having stood in the kitchen cooking and washing up for an hour or two .

I normally have a cleaner who comes weekly , but she is on holiday for a few weeks, so the cleaning and ironing is starting to build up already. After all the cooking today and how tired it has made me feel, the thought of housework fills me with dread .

PumaGirl · 23/03/2010 21:05

Hi All,

Haven't posted for ages and haven't had a chance to read the new thread either so don't know what everyone is up to. V slack.

However, as an update - Puma Cub (girl)arrived nearly two weeks early last Thurs 18th.

We're home now and all fine and getting to grips with this new life!

Hope everyone else well.

ReneRusso · 23/03/2010 21:15

Many many congratulations PumaGirl!! Care to share any details with us about the birth? No pressure. Hope you're feeling well and enjoying being with your little girl.

PumaGirl · 23/03/2010 21:23

Thanks!

Yes, sorry, no point in posting without some details!

Waters broke Tues 16th in the afternoon - and basically no progression naturally - kept getting contractions but was only 1cm (!) by late Weds night.

Decided to go with induction drugs. Still only 5cm after 15hrs.

Was exhausted by this point as no sleep for about 3 days. Docs decided best thing would be a section so she made her world debut around 9pm Thurs 18th. Weighed in at 6lb 9oz and is absolutely fine. Phew!

flybynight · 23/03/2010 21:24

Oh wow - congrats PumaGirl! That's terrific news.

Your cleaner really knows how to pick her holidays Zeeky. I shall be keeping mine chained in the kitchen, and her mum who sometimes accompanies her!

nicnacinoonoo · 24/03/2010 07:53

congratulations puma thats fab. hope you are all well.

i think im too lazy to get the nesting instinct i was hoping id get it last time and didnt and no sign of it so far this time either.

Congratulations Pumagirl!

Our first official new arrival

Snowtiger · 24/03/2010 08:47

Congratulations Pumagirl! Wonderful news, glad to hear you're both doing well.

Good news on the section date too Nicnac - must be a bit scary but at least you know what you're doing and when! Am a bit envious of that - would love to have a definite date to plan around!

tostaky · 24/03/2010 08:50

Congrats pumagirl Hope you are recovering well!!! Don't do too much in the first few weeks (esp with a c-section), be lazy and enjoy your little one!

nicnac must be really exciting for you!!!

zeeky today should be my "cooking day" i am so not looking forward to it....

Am feeling much better, no more headaches so i didnt go to the GP or rang the midwife... I have an antenatal appt next week so i can probably wait until then.

My DS is also being very clingy and has lots of tantrums. even at nursery they are a bit concerned that "he hasnt been himself" yesterday so i guess he senses that something is happening...either the baby or that he is going to spend two weeks away at my parents...
this is actually making me feel very guilty, like im "getting rid of him" or something horrible like that...

tostaky · 24/03/2010 08:51

I think we should have a list of babies now!!! (feel free to change the format)

Pumagirl - 18th March - Girl - 6lb 9oz

Neeko · 24/03/2010 09:08

Congrats Pumagirl Lovely news

I'm jealous of those of you with definite dates too. I had loads of braxtons and then one proper contraction yesterday - then nothing! Harumf! IF one more person says it won't be long now or similar to me I think I'll be forced to commit violence!

stinkypinky · 24/03/2010 09:14

It won't be long now Neeko!

(runs and hides!)

Congratulations Pumagirl - are you willing to share the cubs name?

Neeko · 24/03/2010 09:24

Stinkypinky That's dangerous ground you're on!

thedollshouse · 24/03/2010 09:32

Congratualtions Pumagirl!

Congratulations Pumagirl and cub! Hurray, our first official baby.
What on earth has happened to Rtuff and hoops??!
Zeeky I used Oven Pride. I did wear the gloves but no goggles, I think I will do in the future. Ouch.

lineky · 24/03/2010 10:58

Congrats pumagirl I am very
With you on the comments Neeko. Snowtiger I am desperate to get going in the garden, have taken to bossing DH about while I sit in summer house with hot chocolate. I need one of those stick weeder things for OAP's. Have got toms and chilis sown along with broad beans and leeks so have made a wee bit of progress. Am now faced with huge glut of parsnips as they were frozen solid for so long - plenty of parsnip soup for the next few months anyway!!
Hope everyone is well and fingers crossed we will have more little bubs soon!

Bettymum · 24/03/2010 11:20

I like your gardening technique lineky! I was going to sow my leek seeds today in big pots. Since my mum and dad are coming to stay in a couple of weeks as they've sold their house, I have big plans for my dad in the garden and digging our new allotment .

Boodstress · 24/03/2010 12:41

Congratulations on your arrival Pumagirl - 2 weeks early as well, nice . I am so impressed by the extreme nesting. I have enough trouble keeping up with day to day chores, I can't imagine where I would get the time to do anything else. Temporary cleaner starts 29th March for 8 weeks so that should leave time for ovens and freezers. With DS1 I filled the freezer full of delicious meals and then waited and waited and no baby so eventually DH started pulling out the meals to eat when I was too tired to cook anymore. I would go beserk when I saw yet another shepards pie or casserole that was meant for post baby being devoured before he made his entrance.

Going to have reflexology on Breech baby tomorrow evening, I thought she did the moxi wotsit technique but apparently she moves it with relexology and has alot of success. It keeps moving and slipping back so lets see if this helps. 1 week to get it to shift before I get an early section date . I'll keep you posted.

It is like a summer day here, I almost want to drag my creaky pelvis out to the weeds..I really admire the gardening enthusiasts. Am I the only person not growing my own veg

flybynight · 24/03/2010 12:57

No boodstress you are not alone. I decided that 3 children plus a newborn, a regularly absentee husband and a kitchen extension were enough to keep me going this summer, without beating myself up about unweeded raised beds. I did want to though. We grow quite a lot of fruit.

Similarly, I used washable nappies for the first 3 children (now used as dusters and cleaning cloths). That won't happen with this one as I have to be realistic about workload. There are no nappy laundry services near me so it will be disposables, which I'm quite sad about.

Good luck with the reflexology. My sister - who is due her first the week after me - is currently breech, so she's trying out the acupuncture/moxibustion route at the moment.

Boodstress · 24/03/2010 13:21

There is no servicce here that I know of and I figure the water and heating I would use for washables would outweight the gain but I may be trying to make myself feel better. I do suffer the guilts about the volume of nappies though.

Flybynight How nice that your sister is due the same time as you, I would never be off the phone.

Mistymoo · 24/03/2010 16:27

Congratulations Pumagirl

Time is ticking on isn't it. The list will soon be growing with all the baby weights and arrivals.

Boodstress you'll have to let me know how you get on with reflexology to turn a breech baby. I also have a breech presentation at the moment - scan on Monday. I do know a reflexologist but I find her a bit OTT in many ways so would possibly only go to her as a last resort!
