With thanks to BusyMissIzzy for compiling it!

MummyElk · 11/03/2010 17:24

oof anyone else feel better for having pacific back!! Great birth story too by the looks of it, excellent work.
Manda sounds like you aren't far behind, thinking of you!! Well done!!
puree i don't know if you are lurking but wanted to say thank you for commenting on SexGate, have to say I felt a LOT better knowing i'm not the only one.... I have decided I really should do something about it though, before the 9lb baby in me makes an entrance and buggers up any chance of near future sex
SO pleased for iwcas have to admit a feeling of protectiveness about you my dear, after all you've been through, it was poignant watching you tumble out of the nest and i had everything crossed it would all turn out ok!! Patronising or what!! I don't mean it that way though!
heckle yes it prob was me going on about waters breaking in M and S, that's what I've heard anyway.
Elk and I had our first picnic in the park today. Am most proud, in a doggedly determined British way. Can't say it was warm...or that comfortable (took me an age to get back up off the blanket) but still, it was done and she enjoyed it. Off out to dinner tonight, all of us, should be fun.
REading Pacific's birth story makes me think i should perhaps put those waterproof sheets on the mattress....

well done RKD and Busy for the list! If you fancy reposting the due date list at some point I'd also appreciate that but no matter if not. just can't remember who is what when etc. Pixie and I are due next thursday. RKD is due on my birthday 26th. that's about it!!

angfirsttimer · 11/03/2010 17:25

iwcas - congratulations again and sounds very positive re your exDP

BomDigger · 11/03/2010 17:34

Hello ladies!

Cranky here! (Trying out new name.) I have been lurking!

I can't believe we've started popping! I was due on Tuesday, but except from some discomfort in Tescos today, no sign of baby Twanky.

Very interested to read about home dialation check! Anyone had an accurate "reading"?

Sariska · 11/03/2010 17:44

Just popping in to say congratulations to Pacific and IWCAS. And good luck Manda. My long latent phase resulted in a 2 hour active phase and 23 mins pushing. Maybe yours will be the same? Off to PN now to see if anyone has posted any more birth stories. Will try and do mine soon.

Good labour vibes to all!!

Sariska · 11/03/2010 17:47

And congratulations to BlueyDragon - and anyone else I've missed . Sorry - think this may be the first time I'm not on top of the thread, as it were....

Hi everyone, I'd like to announce the birth of Maisie Patricia born on March 7th at 3.45pm weighing 8lbs 10 oz. She is GORGEOUS!

Went into labour on Friday with really strong contractions, three every ten minutes that died down to one every 10 mins on Saturday morning. Went into hospital Saturday night crying with pain, spent the night from hell on an antenatal ward in ABSOLUTE AGONY having been given Diamorphine, and by early Sunday morning was only 3cm dilated but moved to the labour ward. I started on gas and air which made me really stoned, and the pain was so intense was begging for an epidural by 7am. Midwife and DP were BRILLIANT and after the epidural set in, I felt very relaxed and happy until I started to push at 2pm which is when I was fully dilated. Second stage was slow and I was given a scan showing the cord was wrapped around her neck so she was quickly delivered by ventouse and episiotomy at 3.45pm! The stitches are painful but bearable and I have HUGE ADMIRATION for all those women who can do the drug free natural childbirth thing because I have never ever experienced pain quite like it!!!

Sorry this is really rambling but I've had about eight hours sleep since last Friday! She is gorgeous, we are completely in love with her and have established breast feeding but our world has been turned upside down!!!

Who is left on this thread, and please someone send me the link to the pn thread as I am now officially EXHAUSTED!!!

Ciara Erin born 7th March. We've only just got out of hospital due to such a super speedy labour my body went into shock (long story) but everything great. So nice to be home snuggled up on the sofa typing with one hand and a tiny bundle in the other

Pixie puuuurrrrrllllleeeeease? I showed you my embarrassing moment.. Just a teensy weensy ickle photo????

Grizzer and AbsB WELL DONE!!!!!

Just got back from doing my talk on guidance at Alpha. Most people watching the huge bump rather than the Powerpoint but at least my waters didn't break in the middle of it ( although I'm feeling a little damp overshare?!)

Just have to get leading at church and babysitting for a friend out of the way on Sunday and doing craft at toddlers next week and I'm GOOD TO GO!!!

annamama · 11/03/2010 21:35

Ang - that's good news, stay positive, good luck!

AbsB and Grizzer - congrats!

AbsB - I think every labour is different and you can't compare your pain to anyone else's, yours might well have been worse than average. Or you're just a wimp like me...

World turned upside down? Yes things will never be the same again... but it's all good.

My thought of the evening: Isn't it funny how in early pregnancy you check your knickers obsessively to make sure there's NO blood and in late pregnancy you check your knickers (or Tena lady or whatever) hoping that there IS some pink stuff...

Congratulations AbsB and Grizzer. Good luck Ang!

Everyone from my NCT group has now had their babies or are in labour as we speak. Everyone but me . Starting to accept the thought of this baby never coming out and me just staying huge forever.
