cherrypie my scan is on the 22nd, I have to see the consultant after as i had pre-eclampsia the first time and 2 sections. When is your scan?
im still very tired all the time, so cant wait for uni to end for the summer so I can have a well earned rest.

CherryPie3 · 06/03/2010 14:30

Ugh! Tiredness is my plague at the moment! The latest night I've had this week I think is about 8:45pm!!

My scan is on the 11th March - only 5 days away . Still definitely not finding out tho. Will be team yellow/beige

Wondering how many people there will be in each team pink or blue or yellow.

Exciting times....

Hi ladies - hope all are having nice weekends. More good scan news - that's lovely. Sorry Elusive and Rubena for the mix up - I even read backwards and still got it wrong!

Is anyone else not really enjoying feeling the baby move or at least finding it a bit wierd> (sorry - I'm a right whinger I know and not always loving pregnancy). I'm pleased to feel it and all since I take it to mean all is developing normally (for those not feeling thir lo's smove yet I am 21 weeks so quite far along compared to some of the late Aug babies, so don't mean to panic anyone at my comments) but I don't really like the feeling - especially every so often when it kicks me right above my lady bits!!!

DH was working last night so I had a little pamper night and listened with the doppler to the heart beat. A week or so ago when I listened I thought it was a bit irregular (but not slow - just a quick race then a beat skipped). I was a bit worried but decided to go for calm and serene after googling it and all seemed to have settled down again last night.

Aussieng · 06/03/2010 14:50

smove a form of moving observed only in highly developed and intelligent babies - obviously.

CherryPie3 · 06/03/2010 16:17

Aussie I love feeling the baby move - after a m/c in September I find it's very comforting and reassuring

OP posts:
kcoffin27 · 06/03/2010 17:09

I agree with you both aussie and cherrypie its nice to feel baby move as I have had 3 m/cs in a row and 3 before my youngest son (6 altogether), but it does feel weird when it gets you where you said aussie.
I think I shall be joining you in team yellow

CherryPie3 · 06/03/2010 18:39

kcoffin you poor thing, all those m/c's . I agree it does feel a bit weird, a tiny bit

Well we've got 2 in Team Yellow!!!

cherrypie my stats are as follows,

due aug 9th, with dc2 I am 32 and I live in Fleet, hants.

kcoffin27 · 06/03/2010 20:04

I am abit worried about weight gain, or I should say lack of it. I have read that I should have put on between 10-13 pounds by now, however I have only put on 3. Should I be worried? I dont know why I havent put weight on as I look like im 6 months gone already

Aussieng · 06/03/2010 20:53

Kcoffin - I'm still 8lbs down on my pre-pregnancy weight from the MS. At my last mw appointment the MW was completely unconcerned. She measured my uterus and said that was fine and that was all that mattered. There is a thread (I think on the pg boards) about weight loss during pregnancy - quite a lot of people putting on nothing buta few lbs of pure baby weight and post pg being lighter than ever before. Try not to worry too much. The "ideal" weight gain stats are about the stupidest thing IMO - weight is one aspect where everyone really is different!

Thanks for the reassurance on the kicks. It just feels very wierd to me but as I said it does also reasure me.

girlsyearapart · 07/03/2010 08:36

morning all.
We will be on team yellow here too as def not finding out. People seem to find this very odd but we didn't find out the other times so why should we now..

dds up at 6am today. Tired now. Have already peeled some veg for the roast though.

Wrt baby moving- I started feeling it move at 12 wks and have felt a couple of proper kicks but generally only feel something every few days. Am 18 plus 4 now and want to feel it move more for reassurance. In fact feeling baby move is probably the only thing I do like about pregnancy..

And have realised I will have to watch the World Cup without a beer.

Chulita · 07/03/2010 09:00

Morning! We're in the yellow team too (unless I cave at the crucial moment)
girlsyearapart, you can have an alcohol free beer, I've never tried them but apparently they're not bad. I think the world cup is perfect timing. I'll just slump on the sofa and watch footie DH isn't a football man either so he can look after DD, winner!
I'm really fancying a roast now but I've got meat loaf leftovers...roast chicken with gravy is something I wanted all the time with DD and it's not much different this time.
I find the baby moving lovely at this stage but it's when they prod you and it really, really hurts in later stages that I hate it. I know I should love it but I don't, especially when they trampoline on your bladder and bash against your ribs!

ElusiveMoose · 07/03/2010 09:30

Oh, we're going to be on team pink/blue (except that I refuse to buy any pink or blue, so we'll probably actually be on team beige anyway ).

Beautiful morning down here in sunny Kent. DH has loads of work to do this weekend (the only downside of being married to a teacher) so I'm meeting my NCT girls in the park for a lovely walk .

Can anyone recommend where to buy maternity swimwear for the larger-boobed lady? Tried on my cheapie costume from ebay last night and it's a joke - makes me look like a giant ball, and if I make a sudden movement my boobs ping out the top .

CherryPie3 · 07/03/2010 09:45

Good Morning ladies

How are we all this lovely sunny day? I actually have washing on the line Kids are playing in the garden on their swings/see-saw. Methinks it's gonna be a good day

kcoffin at your weight gain, I would definitely not be worried. You're very lucky, I think I put on about a pound an hour!!!

chulita I agree it's unpleasant when baby kicks hard later on, still can't say I dislike it tho (but ask me again at 35 weeks! )

World Cup - We're on holiday when the world cups's on so I think I'll be the designated driver for the duration . No loss to me really tho cos I don't drink even when not pregnant. Well, I used to have a glass of wine in the house about once a month. Does that count?

DH's suggestion of what to do until we go up my Mum and Dads for Sunday roast... bearing in mind it is my birthday.....

"Just tidy the house or something..."

Not even one day off a year is transpires. Bloody men!

ElusiveMoose · 07/03/2010 13:01

Cherrypie, no, that doesn't count as drinking . In fact, what you normally drink is about what I drink while I AM pregnant. Had a very nice small glass of white wine last night with my scallops and bacon. Yum.

CazEM, give him a kick. In fact, maybe go on strike . Hope your day improved.

Missus84 · 07/03/2010 13:59

Pregnancy has definitely given me the ability to make one glass of wine last for about 4 hours, whereas before pregnancy I could have got through most of a bottle in that time. Now I just keep topping up my glass of white wine with ice cubes

ElusiveMoose · 07/03/2010 18:13

Hey, great tip Missus.

CazEM · 07/03/2010 21:38

ElusiveMoose - yes thanks, day and DH improved! I've been really spoilt by everyone and he totally made up for it with the beautiful Dune flip flops he gave me! Haha!

We went out Friday night and I had a small rose wine with a dash of lemonade in it - thought I'd treat myself as it was my bday evening out, first drink I've had since my BFP, a couple of sips and I wasn't even enjoying it. I gave it to my Mum! Friday night used to be bottle of wine and TV night!! Oh how things change!!!

cazzybabs · 07/03/2010 21:48

Ohh I wish I was off alcohol - I don't drink except when I am pregnant I really really fancy a glass of something...waitrose does the best non-alcoholic beer (well it is 0.5%)..that satisfies me especially in the summer when I really really like a beer ...

I haven't felt sick for a good few days now - HORRAH...still very tire though and had to force myself to get out of the house today especailly because I had just eaten an enormous Sunday Lunch

Cosmosis · 07/03/2010 23:04

Becks blue is pretty good for acohol free beer, it's what I've been drinking.

Has anyone else been getting headaches? I had loads this week.

CazEM · 08/03/2010 06:51

Good morning Monday again! 3 weeks till the Easter holidays and counting! Haha! Oh I can't wait to work part time, I'm finding full time more and more tiring!

pamplem0usse · 08/03/2010 08:41

Morning ladies!!
All this talk of alcohol.... fortunately I'm not missing it much as it's one of the things that makes me feel instantly sick.
On the 'sick' note I'm nearly 16 weeks and have been sick three times over the last three days so I'm praying I'm not one of those women who pukes throughout pregnancy!
And happy birthday for yesterda Caz!

Rubena · 08/03/2010 10:21

I'm missing wine a little but i'm going to do that ice cube topping up thing over the summer

I'm over this cold weather. I know the sun is finally coming out more but i'm really sick and tired of knowing I will have to put about 100 layers on to go out just into the garden.... Therefore the dog poop has been building out there!

growingbump2 · 08/03/2010 10:42

Good morning ladies,
DH away back to work after a lovely two days at home.
Missus, will definately be taking up your ice cube trick in the summer. Cherrypie I will be joining team yellow as our area will not tell you the sex anyway.
I have been feeling tiny little baby movements, quite nice but didn't enjoy the big kicks nearer the end when you can see your stomach move. Kcoffin I would'nt worry about weight gain, I lost 11 lbs on pre-pregnancy weight by time DS was born and this time have lost 8 lbs which doesn't seem to be in a hurry to pop back on - although still no bump which I am a bit disappointed about!
