OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mrsZaC · 17/02/2010 13:59

chulita it's horrible taking the stupid thing off at night, they aren't particularly sore but they are sooooo heavy just now!

Missus84 · 17/02/2010 14:03

I felt very sorry for Sam - she seemed completely unprepared, totally terrified, and no one helped her to manage the pain at all.

CherryPie3 · 17/02/2010 14:04

I'm another non-wired bra wearer here. Only wearing sports support bras at the minute as they are so much comfier!!!

WRT screaming - for me it was the frustration more than anything else. I didn't feel I was in control (which of course I wasn't - labour has it's own path in mind!) and when I was pushing, I didn't feel like anything was happening. Luckily dd's labour only 3 and a half hours. ds's labour was 9 hours. As they seem to be getting longer (for me) I'm half expecting this one to be a 2 day affair bloody hoping not mind....

Doodleydoo · 17/02/2010 14:18

I have the sorest boobs possible, they even hurt lying own in bed! they are huge though so what can you expect? (34 dd/e pre preg)

CherryPie3 · 17/02/2010 14:36

38E pre-preg here - they don't seem to hurt anymore tho unless I wear an underwired bra - they felt like cannon balls when I took the bra off at the end of the day

bouncingblueberries · 17/02/2010 14:44

Oh god no - I'm still in wired bras! 32GG pre-pregnancy, can't remember what I am now

Hated the way my boobs looked in non-wired bras last time round, so I'm staying in wired bras as long as I can. I refuse to submit to the monoboob!

Alicetheinvisible · 17/02/2010 14:55

I only have one bra that fits too. It is a Fantasie bra. I am a 32F and i can't fit into my Freya one anymore (different cut, same size) but the Fantasie one is cut higher so no bulging, although i am on the last hook now. It is still comfortable though, so i wear it every day and handwash it every other evening.

DD just gone upstairs for her nap (enforced ) and i am settling down to watch last weeks midsummer murders

CherryPie3 · 17/02/2010 15:04

is it hometime yet? really hot in this office again - making me so tired I just wanna go back to bed

Is it bad that I was in bed at 7:40 last night while dh was watching the Man Utd v AC Milan match?

vix206 · 17/02/2010 15:11

You can wear wired bras all the way through as long as:

a) they are properly fitting, really properly fitting!
b) they are comfortable, everyone is different.

For me wired are always more comfortable, if they are uncomfortable it is only ever because they are ill-fitting and the wires are sitting in the wrong place. I find non-wired bras very uncomfortable. But as I say, everyone has different requirements.

Its just such a relief to be wearing a good bra after weeks of making do with my old one! I expect to need a larger one in around 6 weeks or so, and probably at least one size up again later on when my bump is higher up.

vix206 · 17/02/2010 15:11

PS Cherrypie, I was in bed at 6.30 last night!!!! Straight after an early dinner, because I just felt exhausted!

bouncingblueberries · 17/02/2010 15:12

Thank goodness for Bravissimo!

Alicetheinvisible · 17/02/2010 15:27

Hate Bravissimo, Love John Lewis.

CherryPie3 · 17/02/2010 15:31

Vix Nice to know I'm not alone with feeling exhausted bit. Dh thinks it's sweet . Says "you're pregnant, you need your rest" personally I wanna know why he's being so nice? When I was pregnant with dd and ds he go0t incrediby frustrated with me declaring that I was 'playing on it' and there was no way I could be that tired.

I guess him seeing repeated again with this pregnancy has made him think that actually I may be telling truth

Oh and again WRT bras - with dd and ds I wore a wired bra right up until 34 weeks, then I lived in my sports bra and then feeding bras . Boobs were just so much sorer with this one?

Nikalah · 17/02/2010 15:31

Hey girls! Another one here with norks like watermelons! Invested in 2 new bras after getting measured properly. I'm up to a 36FF!! and one seems to have grown bigger than the other!! I really don't think I'll be able to go into non-wired as there soooo uncomfortable. The last time I wore a non-wired was I think my training bra at 13!

I did see some really nice Freya nursing bra's in Selfridges. I would have invested but who knows what size I'm going to end up!

Loving all the positivity on the thread at the moment and am certainly, on the whole, feeling much brighter myself. Even managed a weekend in Germany with friends and didn't throw up once!

Going to invest in some maternity wear tonight - I don't feel fat (apart from jelly belly - which is normal) but nothing fits!

CherryPie3 · 17/02/2010 15:36

sorry boobs ARE so much sorer with this one - already talking in past tense, brain impatient and wants it to be due date now dammit!!!

mrsZaC · 17/02/2010 15:39

ooh thanks vix I'm an underwired sorta gal so I think I'll stick with that!

alice I'm a fantasie girl too, unfortunately don't get on with freya, got a couple of freya bras and I find with me they dig in at the sides and are often too high inbetween the bust, must be because I'm a short ass. I used to be a bravissimo girl but I find their ranges a little samey. I'm lucky as we have a fab place on the corner called Boudiche, fab fab underwear and a mix of prices, luxury and everyday lingerie. Can't speak more highly about them, soo friendly and fab fitting service! Had a fab time picking my wedding and honeymoon lingerie in there!!

babyducky · 17/02/2010 15:45

U all have such big boobs!!!

Im only a 34d & they havent got any bigger at all yet! I only went up 1 size last time aswell! They are a bit sore & tingly though.

Alicetheinvisible · 17/02/2010 16:13

MrsZac funnily enough, when i got my Freya and Fantasie bras (at the same time) i prefered the Freya one because it didn't come up so high as the Fantasie one. When AF was due the Fantasie was more comfy. I went up to a 38 last pg, so i don't want to buy another bra until i find this one uncomfortable. Plus this one makes my boobs look very pert (they are not!)

I think i may be feeling some movements now (15weeks) very faint and intermittant, but sure there is something.

neenz · 17/02/2010 16:33

Alice, me too! I am 15w on Friday, feeling definite flutterings, you do feel them earlier second time around and if you are quite slim apparently.

I am lol'ing at the bra talk - I am usually a 34A and went up to a massive C last time round

marzipananimal · 17/02/2010 16:56

argh i'm too tired to do anything [moaning emoticon]
i just feel tired and queasy and can't be bothered to get off the sofa but there's so much wasking up/tidying/cleaning/hoovering/cooking to do! Sorry for the moan but i'm fed up with having no energy!

mrsZaC · 17/02/2010 17:05

owh totally sympathise marzipan I've been feeling rubbish about not getting anything done cuz I'm glued ot the sofa or in bed. I was Loving my energy spurt last night and was hoping that would be it now, but I'm now falling asleep at my desk so take it it was just a one - off

starshaker · 17/02/2010 17:27

i have been a seriously bad mummy today. I felt quite sick earlier after i went for my shower. Thought id lie down for a min and woke up at 5 . Must have fallen asleep at about 2. My poor dd has been an angel and my front room is only partially destroyed. Cant believe i fell asleep i feel like such a bad mum cos she has basically been on her own for 3 hours

CherryPie3 · 17/02/2010 17:33

I'm with you marzi no energy and a short temper to addinto the bargain

CherryPie3 · 17/02/2010 17:51

star of course you're not a bad mummy - you're a pregnant mummy!!! Don't feel bad!!!

starshaker · 17/02/2010 17:58

Have a serious urge for salad so think we are gonna go to pizza hut for a treat lol.

Quick update on dd. Yesterday her bandage thing came off her finger. It did not look pretty. Took her back to the hospital to have a new dressing put on and the consultant told me it was normal and he will have a proper look at it on friday. She is now being so good at taking her medicine.
Still not sure asbout sending her to nursery tomorrow since she will be off again on friday. The problem is her fav thing to play with is the water and paint. Not sure how well that will work when shes all bandaged up
