Ooh yes chocolate bites and flapjack yum yum. Yep and I have room for fairy cake too..

kaylo is your dd at school yet? My niece is an october birthday so she has 'lost' a lot of friends to school whereas she has to wait until september.

Behaviour reflective of needing to go to school I reckon!

ElusiveMoose · 29/01/2010 13:57

Hello, I'm here too . Just posted my new status on fb, so the secret is now officially out. And told everyone at toddler group this morning. I'd forgotten how nice it is when you get so many pleased reactions from everyone .

Can't stay, though - got to go and make a shopping list while DS is asleep. Got ILs coming for lunch on Sunday, so need to do a mega shop this afternoon. Might have to buy a treat or two for myself as well .

Actually, today is the first day in weeks that I haven't been starving. Maybe the bean is finally full! Had a very small bowl of gnocchi for lunch, but rounded it off with an Ovaltine made from the free sachet I got in the Bounty pack. It really took me back to being pregnant last time, actually, because the first time I ever had Ovaltine was the free sachet in the last Bounty pack .

Missus84 · 29/01/2010 14:10

Has anyone else tried Graze boxes? They're my new addiction! I have a code for a free box if anyone wants to try it out.

mrsZaC · 29/01/2010 14:21

hehe Missus84 did you get that frome me? I normally LOVE grazing but unfortunatly have really gone off my boxes over the last couple of weeks, I've been off some odd foods, like I normally LOVE olives and now I can't stand the sight of them!

hurry up gals their ain't many chocolate cornflakes left, I keep munchin them...

hehe elusive my friend just announced on FB today that she's 12 weeks, was jealous, still have another 3.5 weeks to go before I can do that.. not long now tho!

xxx

KayloHalo · 29/01/2010 14:35

G.Y.A Yep, dd has a March birthday (17th - she'll be a guiness drinker ) so she started full time reception class in September 09, and has just had more people join her class that have birthdays April-August 31st.

hi Moose I'm glad you got a good reaction - we didn't get that many
LOL @ Ovaltine reminiscence - I gave my sachet to my mum!!

I haven't announced it on FB yet, not sure if I'm gonna to be honest. Might do at my 20wk scan "It's going to be a boy/girl" Something like that

xx

mrsZac I've been the same with my Graze boxes....loved them to begin with but now I've gone off so many things that it is proving quite hard!

So what's everyone up to this weekend? My DH has gone to climb Snowdon with his mates until Sunday so I have the house all to myself. I am having takeaway Pizza tonight as a treat (he is a real healthy-eater so its very rare for me to have anything resembling junk food!)

I plan to do not very much at all really, maybe a spot of baby-window-shopping

Chulita · 29/01/2010 15:04

I'll deffo have a fairy cake, thank you! It'll be perfect while I watch Desperate Housewives on 4od

Argh! want my bounty pack, fancying Ovaltine now

cakeywakey · 29/01/2010 15:06

Afternoon ladies, am back from the hospital sporting plasters on the crook of each arm - they had a bit of trouble getting blood out of me today for some reason. Ho hum.

The great news is that I've managed to get my scan moved back from 23 Feb to 12 Feb, am really pleased. Not too long to wait.

Would anyone like a Toffifee? I just found some that I stashed away over Christmas

Missus84 · 29/01/2010 15:18

I'm not sure mrsZaC, maybe! I still love the olives

KayloHalo · 29/01/2010 16:16

WOW!! Kaylo likes Toffifee Can I have just 1 please? Thanks Cakey And fantastic news about your scan too!!! Well done you!

I'm copying Vix and having Pizza later - it's junk food friday. We usually have a take-away every couple of Fridays but lately I've been so replulsed by the idea that I feel quit deprived now - so am gonna scoff pizza all to myself whilst dh inevitably with devour donner meat and chips

YUM!

Vix I'm also taking dh to Mothercare and Ikea, to scout out cots. Trying to decide whether an Ikea one will suffice (prices are ACE) or whether to just buy a normal sized cotbed and use the mattress we already have that we used for dd and ds (would use the cotbed but the base got broke)

Hello

I saw the MW today, and have got to have 2 lots of bloods taken next week (possibly more as i have the cardiologist appointment too)

Metallic taste is very bad today, and i have been struggling to not throw up whilst in public have been sick at home though.

Just want the first trimester to be over

Chulita · 29/01/2010 16:20

at you having pizza, we don't have any takeaways that deliver this far out I could murder a no1 pizza from Gloucester town centre.
[hands Alice a tissue] nearly there!

Alicetheinvisible · 29/01/2010 16:20

Kaylo we got DD's cot from ikea, is fab. I think it cost about £60. I don't like cot beds as they are just so bloody huge.

KayloHalo · 29/01/2010 16:25

They are huge aren't they? Am off to go compare, the Ikea ones look a bit small - but that could easily be cos I'm so used to seeing cotbeds. TBH A small cot would probably be better considering the small amount of space we have available. (still trying to convince dh that we need to move house, our house isn't suitable for loft conversions )

Hope you're ok Alice, first trimester is horrible in a zillion ways, not long to go darling then we'll all be marvelling at swelling tummies and kicking babies

OP posts:
Chulita · 29/01/2010 16:33

just found a pizza place that will deliver (for £5), but it's in my head now so we're going to have to do it!

aendr · 29/01/2010 16:35

Rubena/KayloHalo: I've got better with being pregnant with DS, I no longer get myself panicky or burst into tears beforehand. But I do have to entertain the phlebs with poems/songs I don't quite remember (so I'm concentrating on the words). It still takes me a while before I'm safe to drive afterwards though.

Rubena: nothing in the way of cold rememdies AFAICT, which given I have had a bad cough for 6 weeks is a pain. A real pain.

Alice: I got the metallic taste right through last time. It's vile, isn't it? If you can face it, I found the only thing that cut it was grapefruit juice.

Can I just say "Thornton's mini caramel shortcakes"? Om nom nom , pops some on the thread coffee table, in easy reach of the sofa!

Chulita · 29/01/2010 16:36

I got a letter through from the hospital telling me about an appointment to see a Miss someone on March 11. I presume it's the consultant but I really want my 20wk scan rather than a chat about how soon they can rip me open to get the baby out I really want to try for a VBAC but the MW made it sound like I'm going to have to fight for it!

Alicetheinvisible · 29/01/2010 16:39

Chulita why? My MW was saying it was my choice, but i can't have a homebirth, waterbirth or use the mw unit. If i haven't had baby by 41 weeks they book you in for a cs instead of inducing (because of previous cs)

Chulita · 29/01/2010 16:55

I don't know tbh. The only reason I had cs with DD was because she was back-to-back, face presenting, the cord was round her neck and she came down at an angle and got stuck. Not a sequence of events that's likely to happen again, I fully dilated as well. I don't want a HB cos we're a long way from the hospital but I do want a waterbirth (hah!). They said if I hadn't had it by 40wks they'd induce or book a cs. I definitely don't want to be induced, I've heard it's dangerous with a previous cs and I'd rather avoid a cs with a toddler but the MW didn't seem too keen on a VBAC...
