Pingpong · 13/02/2010 15:58

annamama I had a can of lager last night but there is something about midday drinking and being pregnant that makes me feel it's a bit naughty!
I need to nip out to get bread and milk when DD wakens anyway as DH 'forgot' to get it when he was out.
Huge disappointment at the rugby result, Scotland were robbed!
Winter Olympics doesn't excite me in the least I'm afraid but I can understand that being Swedish it appeals to you more than rugby does!
TLC any updates on how you are doing?

scooby26 · 13/02/2010 17:35

shroomer Sorry to disapoint you - the snoozelum has been closed - it is now a cupboard! I could tell how much you were looking forward to the glitterball!!!

evitas · 13/02/2010 19:05

Dear all,

just a quick post to say that our baby boy was born a week ago.
He was born at 36tw exactly, with 49cm and 2.770kg. We stayed a week in hospital to control jaundice but they let us come home today.
Everything is going well and I'm very happy and in love with my little boy

Looking forward to hearing the name/details and seeing some gorgeous pics!

Summer2008 · 13/02/2010 21:24

Congratulations evitas!!! Cannot believe the first baby has arrived already.

Hi to everyone else, just got out of the hospital after high BP and have been prescribed blood pressure tablets and under monitoring now. However have been booked in for a c - section in the next 2 weeks (date to be confirmed) due to BP and broken arm, SPD etc.

I must say although its made it all the more sooner it will be nice to meet him and get my own body back again

Thinking about P&P and anyone getting symptoms, it makes it all that more imminent.

Will catch up with a longer post soon when i have read all the posts.

Summer xx

Arcadie · 13/02/2010 21:49

Wow, huge congrats to evitas. Good healthy weight too; glad you're both doing well

OK, I'm here for a bit of a rant, feel free to ignore me. We are currently having a new bathroom fitted (possibly badly timed, but I thought I'd rather get it done before the baby arrives. The old bathroom was about 40 years old); was supposed to take 7/8 days but has now dragged on for 2 weeks and isn't finished yet. We know one of the men doing it, and his friend has been doing the tiling. The main reason it has dragged on is that the friend has been ill with "food poisoning", except we found out more recently that he's actually an alcoholic and has been drinking on top of taking tablets and that's what's making him sick. Today was meant to be a "final push" to get the tiling done but it's still not finished and I looked at it after they'd gone today and it's a bit shoddy in places, TBH. Not sure if he's rushing, or it's the drinking, or whatever, but the quality of the finish is not as great as I'd hoped. So I've been annoyed about that all evening. Then DH goes to have a bath and notices that the enamel on the brand new bath has been chipped in 3 places, down to the steel underneath. This bath is less than a week old and something heavy has obviously been dropped in it and I am really annoyed. I mean, if the job had taken longer than expected but been executed perfectly, fine. OR if it had been slightly rough around the edges but finished on time, also fine I suppose. But to take 50% longer than planned when I could technically give birth any day, AND it's a bit shit? I don't think that's acceptable. Hormones aren't helping... maybe I'm overreacting. But I just wanted it to be nice

BelgianMummy · 13/02/2010 22:59

Congratulations Evitas!! I am very envious of everyone getting cramping feelings etc. I'm just feeling like a beached whale with a sore back. How exiting that it is all starting though for people on this thread!! I finally bought a crib online today ... was getting a bit worried that baby would have to sleep on the floor.

I'm adding myself back on the list as I seemed to have gotten dropped at some point

Caitni · 13/02/2010 23:39

Evitas wow! Congratulations on the birth of your baby boy . I'll look forward to reading the details on the postnatal thread when you feel up to posting. In the meantime, enjoy lots of cuddles with your gorgeous new baby (I'm very !).

Well ladies, with P&P and Evitas, it really is happening for us now . Here's to many more happy and healthy Feb/Mar/Apr babies for all of March preggos!

Pacific enjoy Centerparcs

Donttry & Arcadie great news about the home births. I'm finding it very exciting getting ready (have now got plastic dust sheets so feeling organised innit ). PS Donttry two of my best friends met their partners on Soulmates, so I think it's really quite a romantic place to meet [smie]

Big sympathies for those suffering with cramps/late pregnancy ailments or dodgy builders.

Caitni · 13/02/2010 23:44

PS IWCAS sorry to hear of your emotional wobble. To be honest, I also burst out crying in an NCT class one time (was mortified). Also burst out crying in Tesco this evening as decided (inexplicably) that my husband was being negative about my weight (he wasn't, hasn't ever been, tells me I look great every day). So cue the pair of us wandering around Tesco with him trying to be nice and me just crying and crying. Not sure what I'm trying to say, other than wrt your ex you're in an emotionally tricky situation for any woman, let alone a woman who's in the late stages of her first pregnancy. I'm glad you vented on here, better out than in, but don't be too hard on yourself

TakeLovingChances · 14/02/2010 00:35

Congrats to Evitas! That is great news

Caitni your emotional outburst in Tesco sounds like something I'd do; it made me smile to read it, but at same time I feel sad for you being upset.

Thank you to all you lovely ladies who have given me advice/empathy today. I've really needed it! Sorry I didn't reply during the day. I was out of the house and couldn't reply.

Anyway, so I'm still not feeling 100%, but now I'm not sure if it's the baby getting ready to come, or if I have some tummy bug or something. I've had a runny tummy for the past few days, and this evening I was feeling like I wanted to be sick as well. Just feel generally 'off'.

Urgh! I'm looking for normality again.

AfriBaby · 14/02/2010 07:36

Congrats to Evitas - can't believe the first baby is already here.

4 more days, 4 more days wweeeeeeeh then on maternity leave.
