becks130 · 15/02/2010 09:42

Hi All,

Just wanted to let you all know the good news, I had a beautiful baby girl last Sunday, she weighed 8lb 4oz and was 54.5cm long and she was 10 days early!! We've named her Analise.

She is a absolute star, sleeps A LOT and only cries when she needs a feed

xx

Lulumama · 15/02/2010 11:04

thanks all, will check back re totallandutterly

congratulations to those who have delivered and good lcuk to those still waiting xx

catinaboot · 15/02/2010 12:09

Eh Pops?! House Gift is programming at it's absolute finest! LBow, no end to the man's talents... Alan Titchsmarsh (sp?) really not sure about his constant smutty remarks, do turn my stomach. I think the man is deluded into believing he's some sort of sex symbol.

Well did any of us due yesterday have any indication of imminent birth. I thought I might be in the 5% but it turned out to just be really painful wind (sorry about the tmi)... does anyone else have that? Sometimes its so painful I can't walk or sit. The birth ball is the only option, and all-fours. Lovely to have such a condition on Valentines Day. DH spoilt with romantic windy gestures! Although today feel just as tender down there.

I'm not seeing the doc until next Monday to discuss sweeps etc, but unfortunately my grampy died on saturday morning and they are talking of his funeral on Monday, so I might try and change the appt... I really want to go to his funeral but it's a good 1.5hrs from home. Not sure it's a good idea? I guess it's just another wait and see! Hopefully our little man will be with us this week.

Sending lots of good birth vibes. xx

fiziwizzle · 15/02/2010 12:36

Congratulations Becks on the birth of Analise! A good weight for 10 days early! She sounds perfect . Can I have one just like her please? PLEASE?!!

3+1 it sounds like you are on your way! How exciting! Good luck! I wonder if all that frantic cleaning did the trick. I really, really can't be bothered though...

Shiregirl a big hug back atcha. Any more progress?

Well I'm a week over today, and am seeing the MW this afternoon. She's already offered to sweep but I've heard that they are painful, and my cervix is very sensitive at the best of times, so I'm not sure I'll go for it. On the other hand - I would like to get this baby out...

Yesterday we called the baby's bluff all day with lots of sex and walking, really NOT wanting a V Day baby. Well it called our bluff right back, by not arriving. Little monkey. So far two phone calls already this morning asking where it is. STILL IN MY TUMMY IS WHERE.

Ah well, off to lurk on the postnatal thread and eat ...

AbsB · 15/02/2010 13:19

Congratulations Becks Analise is such a sweet name, I'd also like one just like yours!

I am 38 + 3 and thought the baby was going to show up this morning - lots of nausea and pains, and generally feel dreadful... but I don't think it's anything after all, which is good as I need the baby to stay in this week!

Fingers crossed shiregirl and 3plus1, it all sounds very promising!

Sorry about your grampy Catinaboot. I think you should go if you want and feel up to it, I'm sure no-one expects anything of you though.

Last week at bloody work! Thank F* for that! I'm never doing that again, I think 36 weeks is the limit.

Happy vibes to all.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 15/02/2010 13:38

Yay, becks, great news! Welcome Analise!

See you over on the pn thread!

(you too, fizi...)

fiziwizzle · 15/02/2010 17:16

Humph. Cervix is thick and unfavourable . Instead of trying to bring on labour I'm going to lie on the couch and eat chocolate ice cream

sunnybump · 15/02/2010 17:24

Catinaboot so sorry to hear about your Grampy Grandparents have such a special place in our lives.

Congrats Becks such a pretty name

3+1 sounds promising, I hope you are cuddling your little one right now. Shiregirl sounds like you need to ask your DH to respectfully tell everyone to B* Off and give you some peace. If it's any consolation, my MIL is much better now the LO is here.

Lol Fizi at you calling your LO's bluff, sounds like you have a determined baby there. Did you mention how cold it is? Chocolate ice cream sounds like bliss.

I do hope Totally is ok...

stressheaderic · 15/02/2010 17:47

Congrats to Becks, Analise is a lovely name and she sounds like a dream. Where can I order one of those kinds?

Abs - my due-date buddy - I felt the same as you, wonder who'll go first?!

Thoughts to all still waiting either patiently or impatiently!

38 + 3....lots of backache, tightenings, nausea, diarhoea, general restlessness, been at the hosp today for check-up, they examined me and concluded it really won't be long now, GULP. All my talk of wanting a half-term baby cos I'd always be off work (school) for future parties, and now it might just be happening and I'm shitting a brick (which I imagine isn't dissimilar to how birth actually feels...)

stoofadoof · 16/02/2010 07:22

congratulations becks! ace news!

hope 3plus1 and shiregirl are in the process of joining you, if they haven't already!

mw had a good furtle today, cervix reduced but not enough for sweep and no dilation, though she had a good crack at it! little monkey has moved back up (which i guessed from pelvis feeling better, tum feeling full of baby, and the litres of gaviscon i've been drinking the last couple of days... ) on the plus side, he's now (big drum roll) LOA!!!!! whoa!!! so, in the words of the midwife 'well, something's happening' ...

will see what the consultant says tomorrow... find out whether they reckon a section is the way to go, or if they'll give me a few more days to try for vbac... i really don't know... ho hum

best stop rambling and go fill in the job application i've just got.... can't believe i'm doing this at 40+ weeks....

thinking of you all

AbsB · 16/02/2010 10:35

Stressheaderic Sounds like we are having the same symptoms! Woke in the middle of the night with weird hot twinges down below, and then really bad period type pain. Feel radically different in the last couple of days than I did over the weekend! DP is off to help my mum move house today so I'm going to be home alone, watching every twinge!

The baby has moved down and is sitting in my lap! Who knows if this is just practice contractions or the real thing...

Shitting a brick sounds about right!

hannahsaunt · 16/02/2010 12:42

Quick update - after three boys, the scanner was right and we now have a beautiful dd to add to the mix .

Annie Elizabeth Hazel was born on Saturday, 13 Feb and weighed 8lb 5oz.

Probably the longest of any of the labours and definitely the most painful first stage. On the other hand, after being stuck at 10cm for an hour (who gets stuck at 10???) waters broke and she arrived with one push (more of a surge really I didn't do anything in particular to engage with the process). As with the others, I had no transition.

Hospital were fantastic from the receptionist on arrival to all staff encountered over the time. Twice midwives sat down with the detailed record of the labour and delivery to offer debriefing if I wanted and despite rumours to the contrary there was absolutely no encouragement for a 6 hour discharge and the strongly advised at least a day just to rest and come to; they even offered another night if I wanted despite this being db4 and terribly straightforward. Faultless care - hoorah!

Hope it's as good for all.

stressheaderic · 16/02/2010 13:27

Many congratulations hannahsaunt on the birth of your little girl, they are lovely names you have chosen too.

Great to hear praise for a top-notch service at your hospital, mine has been wonderful so far (I've been in and out a lot) so I hope it carries on when it's time for labour and delivery. Good old NHS hey....I've nowt but praise and respect for them all

AbsB · 16/02/2010 16:01

Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl Hannahsaunt and glad you had such a positive experience! It's always nice to hear that things can go well, I also have a huge amount of respect for the NHS but also know that it can be touch and go...

InmaculadaConcepcion · 16/02/2010 17:08

Well done hannahshunt!

Lovely classic names too...

Nikki87 · 16/02/2010 17:17

afternoon ladies, just to let you all know, Corey Zac Johnson was born on Sat 13th at 10.10, weighing 8lb 7.5oz, with a head size of 36.5cm [ouch!!!]
went into spontaious labour very late friday/early sat morning, so went to labour ward, who told me i was 2cm dialated and it could be another 5ish hours b4 i reached 3cm, but once i reached 3 it would be a cm per hour till delivery.... 4hours later i was rushed to have a Ventouse delivery as babys head was that low the cervix was above the head.... had to have a cut, which turned into a tear [again, ouch!!] few probs with BF'ing so am expressing and bottle feeding that, which he seems to be happy with [natural breast feeding too, so am hoping he will eventually prefer natural.. we shall see.
glad to be home though and chilling out, catching up on all my recordings, lol!
congrats to all the new arrivals, and look forward to hearing about more

chinook · 16/02/2010 17:22

Well I can finally stop moaning and give you my news that my baby boy arrived (11 days late)this morning at 2.28am weighing 8lb 3oz. We have almost certainly decided on the name Sam.

I am still a bit in shock because after having irregular contractions for 5 days, when he came it was so quick. I went from 4 cm dilated to ready to push in about 20 mins, then my second pushing stage was recorded as 2 mins. The total opposite to dd. My hospital care was excellent too and I hope you all experience the same.

Can't wait to hear who is next. Good luck to you all.

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 16/02/2010 17:41

Hello, haven't posted on this thread for AGES but I was on the original one (long, long ago...)! So just thought you might like an update to add to the list of births.

Our little girl (no name yet) was born yesterday, weighing 8lbs 10 - she was due on 10th Feb, so 5 days overdue.

Contractions started in the morning and we went to hospital where I was gutted to find I was only 2cms dilated (felt like more!). Nearly got sent home again, but as we were aiming for VBAC they said we could stay on the antenatal ward and then be examined again in 4 hours... well as soon as we left the exam room things ramped up loads and I knew we couldn't wait that long! Luckily the lady who walked us over realised the same when I kept having huge cxs in the corridor, so we ended up going nearly straight to delivery instead and getting my hands on some gas and air, a big relief as I apparently went from 2 to about 8cm in hardly any time! The final stages took a bit longer (pushing bit was tough), but we ended up with the VBAC I had hoped for, with just TENS and g&a, and only a tiny tear. A big relief as I was starting to worry about going too overdue and having to choose between another c-section and induction (which is not ideal after a section).

Big brother (26 months) is getting used to the new arrival, though he was a bit shell-shocked at first and burst into tears at the hospital!

Congratulations to all the other new mums/dads, and best wishes/labour vibes to those still waiting!

InmaculadaConcepcion · 16/02/2010 18:32

Almost burst into tears at the last three announcements!!

Lucky, lucky ladies.

Massive congrats to Nikki, chinook and MyNameIs on the arrivals of your DCs - really wonderful news.

Nikki, sounds like you're having a similar bf experience to me - come and chat about it on the pn thread here - and everyone else who's brought their LOs into the world.

I feel emotional.

Good luck to everyone else!
