Pops78 · 13/02/2010 01:14

P.S. Shiregirl I just ate 1/2 tub aagen dazs too..mmmmm actually more like 3/4 tub....

Pops78 · 13/02/2010 01:24

1.20am and pg insomnia has led to full tub haagen dazs eaten...no wonder my baby is big (waddles of to bed with head hung in shame)

threeplusone · 13/02/2010 07:34

LOL shiregirl pops know how you feel hun.. I am really pissed off to be honest.. evenmore so that my cervix is still high I thought all these tightening I have had this week would have done something and little one bearing down.. how wrong was I.
I told my mum last night that I wouldnt be surprised if little man waits until everyone has gone back to the UK before he makes his appearance.

I havent eaten a tub of Haagen Daaz but I did attempt to make my way through a box of celebrations last night, made quite a good attempt by all accounts.. lol

stoofadoof wonder if things are happening for you you havent been on for a couple of days..

MIL is doing my head in I knew she would.. whenever she comes to visit she uses ot as a holiday!! I wouldnt mingd if she didnt have atleast 5 proper holidays a year to spain or majorca. She will tidy up on a night by putting some toys away and run hoover round the front room but then sits there.
Even during the day if DS2 (2.6years) goes wondering around the house she sits waiting for me to run after him.. Then doesnt move of the sofa all day, even to make a brew, I have to do that for her and cook and tidy up .... sorry just ranting away.

Cant remember if I told you last week we had to take DD to hospital for her ankle/foot after falling down the stairs.. well they said everything was OK but this was sunday and she still isnt walking on it properly.. However DS2 did slam the door over it the other night, so i think DH and I are making another trip up to the hospital today to get it looked at again as she cant carry on like this bless her. We were going to tie it in with me going to delivery tommorrow to be monitered, but i think best not just incase anything happens really dont think she wants to see mammy have a baby.. (mmm on second thoughts may put her of sex and boys until she is atleast 25!!!)

Right sorry for the long post..

Again sending lots of positive labour vibes to those who want them.. Good luck all xx

stoofadoof · 13/02/2010 08:15

hey 3plus1 nope, still here too!! no sign of anything at all... bah, grump, harrumph.... any bets on me being one of the 5% that will deliver on their due date (tomorrow)??? didn't think so!! sounds like your MIL is keeping you busy!! Hope DD is ok!

My ma is actually (surprisingly!) really getting into the swing of things here - she sorts all the washing out, hangs it out and puts away! (i've discovered this gives me about an extra hour every day!)

No HaagenDaaz here, but i have treated myself to an extortionately priced imported cadburys picnic bar tonight, AND a bowl of cereal...

walked for a couple of hours today... went out for lunch and DD (now 3.3) launched into 'when do you think little brother will be here Mum? It'll be soon, won't it... I can't wait!' GULP! hope she continues being so positive once he's arrived!

thinking of you all! night night

InmaculadaConcepcion · 13/02/2010 09:18

Sorry for not being specific - one-handed typing while BF, so being lazy!

For news of Totally go here and for Sharon here

NB Great tip for avoiding nappy rash! A Somalian MW told a friend not to use pharmaceutical creams on her baby's nether regions but instead, olive oil. My DD got a bit of nappyrash, cream from the chemist didn't help so we tried the oil and guess what? Her bottom is now as smooth as a... you get the idea. Brilliant stuff, even if she does smell like a salad!!

mawbroon · 13/02/2010 10:01

I was having some braxton hicks last night which were quite uncomfortable and a bit of pain up my bump from time to time.

I got excited for a nanasecond then realised that the pains were because I was needing a big poo after all the dried fruit I had been scoffing!!

I don't feel like I will be going into labour any time soon, but then I'm only 38 weeks today.

I have been managing to do a lot more round the house, and I am managing to look after ds for longer and longer periods now that I am so much more mobile. I think that not being able to drive will be the last obstacle to get over. I still don't know when my ankle will be strong enough, but hopefully, if I don't have a cs then it will be sooner rather than later....

Clappedout · 13/02/2010 12:33

Hi,

Good luck to shiregirl and any others having shows and twinges.

Sympathies to you 3&one on your MIL, how infuriating, they have this knack of totally zoning out when they sense there is work to be done, don't they? Fair weather grandparents! Having said that my Mum was great with my DD when I had my LO though to be honest the most helpful thing anyone has done is make us a big pie! Cooking is quite a drag at the moment, sadly my DP is not great in the kitchen and takes hours to put together a meal...I now wish I'd been more organised like some of you on this thread and done some frozen meals.

Mainly BFing, seems to take up all my time now with what seems like a constantly hungry baby, exhausting, thank goodness for 'watch again' tv....I do draw the line at House Gift though, liked your rant Pops! I found L L-B's xmas decoration tips on, I think, Good Morning the funniest thing ever. Current fave is Matthew Wright on C5 in the mornings..uh oh, time to get a life.

ems147 · 13/02/2010 15:38

Jaime-Leigh Rose arrived 09-02-10, 7lb 9oz! suffering with very sore nipples will try and perservere for a while! cant quite believe how much its 24-7 she is more than worth the hard work!!

good luck to those waiting! and congrats to those with their little ones now!

sunnybump · 13/02/2010 16:16

I can't keep up! I don't care what that BBC thing said,Baby-Brain IS real!

Mawbroon, sounds like you're making real progress with your ankle, great news.

Congratulations Ems great name. I can identify with the sore nipples (Lansinoh is so worth it's tenner price tag) but the MW today said it will improve from here. Are you getting help with latching? Mawbroon posted some good links a few pages ago.

Woowa sorry you are feeling so unwell. Although I had a great birth I lost a lot of blood too (but it was all dealt with very calmly and professionaly for those of you who are still waiting), although luckily didn't need a transfusion. It's left me quite tired besides the lack of sleep, and rattling like a pillbox.

Does anyone fancy a Postnatal Thread to talk about varying colours of poo and the like? Or is there one and I've missed it?:D

sunnybump · 13/02/2010 16:17

ps. Those who want their babies now, keep bouncing and circling on those birth balls and doing cat stretches. I'm sure that's what set me off!

westlondongirl · 13/02/2010 17:02

Congrats to all the new mums!

Mawbroon I have to re-submit my HIP form too. Apparently the doctor dated the form wrong and in 14 weeks they haven't been able to rectify this. I said I could fax them my scan results if they didn't believe I was pregnant but evidently the poor sods can't afford a fax machine. So after a little rant I will start over on Monday. Grrrr

So tired at the moment - can't sleep for hip cramps.

Scan on Monday to see if the little fella will have to come out next week. Suddenly feel very unprepared.

threeplusone · 13/02/2010 18:25

Congratulations ems..

There are a few of us due tommorrow one of us hopefully will be in thwe 5% and have a valentines baby

DD is OK defo no break or fracture just bruising but bless her it is hurting her to walk.

I am hoping to give you your 4th Baby tommorrow as your valentines pressie..
His reply great how am I supposed to top trump that..lol
TBH cant see it happening my self.. have told thim though I want sex tonight........

fiziwizzle · 13/02/2010 19:38

Congratulations ems on the bith of Jaime-Leigh! Another girl! I am so .

Hi to HappySurfWidow

GF is there a long verson of Sam's arrival? (Honestly no pun intended ).

I couldn't agree more sunnybump, babybrain is REAL. When you say cat stretches, do you mean back arched/bent over on hands and knees?

I think a postnatal thread is a great idea - looking forward to joining it! - where will it be?

LOL at Pops scoffing the haagen dazs with pg insomnia. My DP knows I've had a bad night when he comes down in the morning and finds the coffee table littered with my 4am-feast detritus...

More whinges from this direction about the non-arrival of my LO. Went for a long, hilly walk today and a scramble across a rocky beach, thought we might jog it into some action, nada . OK I'm only 5 days overdue... but it feels like 5 weeks. Tonight I'm having as hot a curry as I can stand - calling its bluff - as I don't actually want a V Day baby...

Good luck Shiregirl, sounds promising!

Glad your DD is ok 3+1.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 13/02/2010 20:05

Way to go, Ems! Welcome to your LO!
24/7 for sure - does feeding time ever end??

OK, I've started a post natal thread - the post natal forum is listed in the Show All Talk list - see you over there for lots of baby talk...

InmaculadaConcepcion · 13/02/2010 20:10

To be more specific, here

chinook · 13/02/2010 20:12

Congratulations from me too ems. It would take me all evening to post enough of these to express how I feel. I am now 8 days overdue and thoroughly miserable today about it. I was up for 3 hours from 3.30 am because I was having regular strong contractions, which then just stopped. I really thought that it was my time to pop and I was really pleased about it. It is so good to know I am not alone in my misery!

Come on girls lets get these stubborn babes out.......

bethylou · 13/02/2010 20:44

Thanks IC for the links - let's hope there's news from Totally and Sharon soon.
Well done Ems.

I'm with all of you on the 'just get it out and over and done with' now feeling. I can't leave the house with DS1 on my own as he's too much of a handful for my pelvis to confidently manage and it's starting to really annoy me. Have done nice things with DH and DS together today though (e.g. read the Times while DH chased DS round the soft play place!) which has helped.

It's weird knowing I'm going to be in hospital for a few days without DS as I haven't left him overnight in 22 months. Each night I say 'good night' and 'see you tomorrow' in case I'm not there in the morning. It's not nice. Looking forward to getting in, getting out and getting on with becoming a family of four.

Happy Valentine's day to you all - may it be a productive one!!

bethylou · 13/02/2010 21:41

Very random post here (and possibly TMI) but DH has just massaged my lower back after days of really intense period-like back pain that reminded me a lot of labour last time.. Anyway, we discovered that the muscles just below my back moving from back to hips across my bottom were ridiculously tight (and yet hadn't felt like they were causing the problem). Maybe worth checking out if you are struggling with similar pains? I feel like a new woman!

stoofadoof · 14/02/2010 08:05

congrats ems! bethylou my bums been tight for ages, if that makes sense?!?!? DH sick of rubbing it for me!!! hehe

ok, so for me, my d-day (14th) is nearly over, and nada... but then i wonder if i should really be waiting an extra 13 hours cos of the time difference (given that LO was conceived in UK!!) ... we'll see!!

hoping to be over on the post-natal thread sooner rather than later!

thinking of you all!

FluffyCoo · 14/02/2010 12:03

Morning all,

Congratulations ems - I love boyish names for girls, soooo cute!

2nd day past due date for me - DH has insisted that I do absolutely nothing this weekend, while he runs round like a mad thing, doing my nesting for me! Bless him. Really want to go for a walk, but will have to make do with birthing ball and yoga - it's yukky outside!

Really want this baby out now!!!!!

woowa · 14/02/2010 15:12

Still here, marking position so I can keep reading. Feeling MUCH better...

Congrats ems, same date and weight as me!

Hiya

Fizi yes exactly that, on all 4fours arching and flexing gently. Much more pleasant than cleaning skirting boards anyway.

Glad you're feeling a bit better woowa IC thanks for setting up the thread, off over to have a looksee now.

And happy valentine's everyone, we went for our first family walk this afternoon and DH looked after Arlo, only bringing him into feed, while I slept all morning. Better than chocolates I say!

Lots of openy pushy dialaty vibes to those who want them

Lulumama · 14/02/2010 17:59

hi ladies, sorry to crash your thread. just wondering if anyone had heard from TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied .. i know she had been really worried about her induction and possible complications.. anyone know anything? thanks x

AbsB · 14/02/2010 19:32

Really glad you're feeling better woowa I was worried about you!

Congratulations Ems very sweet name.

I haven't seen any post from totally for a couple of days, has anyone else? Her situation sounded rather worrying, I hope she is alright.

I hope all the new mums are doing really well and enjoying their babies. I can't wait to meet mine!

Happy Valentine's day everyone

threeplusone · 14/02/2010 19:53

Due date nearly over and still here.. all went well at the hospital this morning little man very comfortable and happy where he is. Waiting to see if anything has changed re cervix tommorrow when I am back at the outpatients department.
Today I have cooked eveyone a full english breakfast, went to the hospital came home, totally rearranged the kitchen bleached all the insides of the cupboards, and all the doors, and the floor. Washed the windows in the front room and my big mirror, washed the frontroom carpet, bleached all the tiled floors, bleached the two toilets and the bathroom. Hoping that that will get him moving.. Was going to go for a walk but it is still -4 here so too cold and still lots of snow.

Little man is happily kicking away and playing with his hands as i type so not holding my breath.. unless he is trying to swim down more that would be good.

Hofully will be joining the post natal thread soon.
Lulumama sorry not heard anything from totally do hope she is ok though.. hopefully she is too busy with her little one to write.

Happy Valentines day all what is left of it.. off to have a bounce on my ball and watch some crap on telly I think.
