Congratulations Mamaloco hope you are all doing well, great taste in names for the February babies!

Oh Watercress sometimes they get it so hopelessly wrong

Good luck on Monday Fizi, you'll do great. Make sure you tell the tester it's your due date and they'll take you on a nice gentle route missing the worst potholes

FluffyCoo · 04/02/2010 13:17

Wonderful news mamaloco, congratulations!!

I am cleaning for Britain today and it's DH's birthday, so if i don't go into early labour it will not be for the wont of trying!!

threeplusone · 04/02/2010 14:16

mamaloco.. congratulations on the birth of Angelique..
Both Angeliques were the same birth weight too..

Right come on girls whos going to be next....

becks130 · 04/02/2010 14:40

Congratulations mamaloco well done.

Well I have some news, went to see my consultant this morning and my blood pressure was high again so they have decided to induce me on Sunday morning
I'm already 3cm dialated and apparently I'll only need my waters broken. I'm not sure weather i'm excited or scared.

AbsB · 04/02/2010 15:30

That is exciting news Becks, it sounds like you're on your way to meeting your LO! Good luck.. if you're already 3cm dilated, surely it could happen before Sunday?

Good luck and fingers crossed

BabyGiraffes · 04/02/2010 17:09

Baby girl born late last night 3kg (6 lbs 10)... More details soon (including name...)

flyingcloud · 04/02/2010 17:11

Congrats mamaloco great news and it's a lovely name, obviously as two of you have it and it's relatively uncommon here!

Good luck becks!

I am 40w tomorrow and feel NOTHING!

woowa · 04/02/2010 17:17

Congrats mamaloco - great news, such a pretty name!

Aquanatal is great for sore feet as the weight is lifted off them! Yesterday, as soon as i got in, i thought "yes, waterbirth is so the way I want to go". I LOVE being in water while this large and heavy! So, praying the BP stays normal and I can get in that big hot tub!! And that no-one else is in it when I go into labour!! Apparently they've never had a clash...

OOoh babygiraffe congrats! Another girl! Wow! So exciting... Great news!

Clappedout · 04/02/2010 17:53

Hi,

Thanks so much for all the good wishes, Otto doing well and has even put some weight on in the space of a week thanks to some turbo charged expressing!

watercress I had similar issues with my DP when I found out I was being induced, he spent the intervening week totally preoccupied with his work and was irritable and just horrible, but he came good in the end. Hang in there, it will soon be over!

Congrats Mamaloco, we gave birth on the same day, hope you're both doing well and beautiful name too.

immaculadaconcepcion how is the weight gain going?

MusicalMummyJules · 04/02/2010 18:03

Hey All,

Another update here - Charlie Finley George was born by c-section 7 days ago (28th January) weighing 7.9 Ibs (predicted between 9 - 10 Ibs so quite a shock) Baby Charlie is doing well, despite issues with feeding and sleeping which is inevitable I guess

Hope everyone is doing well.

jardins · 04/02/2010 18:06

Well done to all new mothers! This is so much fun. And Mamaloco I can't BELIEVE the coincidence! As very astute threeplusone mentioned both our little treasures weighed in at 3.820kg!!Yes, I didn't bother specifying the addition 20g in my original post. Incredible.

Little things like that make this whole magic experience even more special. For example, on returning home and checking my mails this week I noticed my sister had written a quick mail letting me know she was thinking about us and the impending birth (having no idea of course I was in labour 4 days early) on 27th January at 1.30 pm, which was 4 minutes after I had given birth. What a coincidence.

Flyingcloud please don't be disheartened by the state of your cervix (lol ): if it can be of some consolation to you both with this birth and my previous one the MW had said mine was closed with no sign of anything happening, bla, bla, and the very same day contractions kicked in. It doesn't necessarily mean anything.

I was delighted with the hospital in Tours. The staff were all pro breastfeeding and I was amazed to see how they encouraged me to sleep in the same bed as Angélique to encourage breastfeeding. Thankfully my teething problems with feeding have sorted themselves out. Basically being a biggish baby she fed a LOT during the colostrum days and she sucked very hard and I was probably not positioning her properly. One breast always reacts more when the milk comes in and looks like a football so I imagine poor little baby found it quite hard latching on: result VERY sore nipples. Thankfully due to Lanolin and different positioning I can happily say my toe-curling days of feeding are over.

I am thinking of you all and wishing you happy birth vibes.

scoobyd00 · 04/02/2010 18:42

Congratulations to all the new mums. They're coming thick and fast now, with gurnsey french and becks probably on the way!

I've updated the list - hope I've done it right.

Oh I x-posted with BabyG earlier congratulations babygiraffes

Oh and congrats to MMJules too... loving all this news... well done to all of you.

Thanks jardins for your encouragement. I am actually fairly laid back now and just waiting for it to happen. I am surviving and since I stopped working (albeit from home) last week I am finding it all so much easier.

Those of you overdue or due today, sending you bring it on labour vibes (any that I can spare! your need is greater than mine)

ems147 · 04/02/2010 20:28

congrats to all the new mums!! think iv missed quite a few so dont wanna name all as il prob offend someone by missing them out!

had mw app yday and she tried to give me a sweep except my cervix is thick and tilted back apparently. v disappointed getting desperate to meet my lo now to the point where me an dp feel like swearing at all the newborns that hav popped up in town. how awful is that!! so now im convinced iv got weeks to wait!! grrrr soooo frustrating!!

bethylou · 04/02/2010 20:35

It's so exciting logging on in the evening and hearing about all the new arrivals. Congratulations to you all!
Our plans for DS1's care during my hospital stay have been thrown into disarray as MIL has now taken to bed ill - this surely means DS2 will put in an arrival over night?!!
If not, have last consultant appointment tomorrow and suspect that he may well want to do a c section after all (for reasons that I will keep quiet about for now, in case I put you off your dinner! )
Continuing with good wishes and positive birthing vibes to all those who are quietly nipping off and having their LOs.

bethylou · 04/02/2010 20:36

p.s. does anyone else feel that their bump has now dropped so low that it is actually squashing their thighs when sitting down? It's bizarre and strangely uncomfortable!

westlondongirl · 04/02/2010 21:00

Congrats to all the new mums! Quick question - are 0-3 month sleep suits ok for when the LO is born or should I buy some newborn ones? Obsessing about my hospital bag!

bethylou · 04/02/2010 21:18

Westlondongirl unless you are expecting a huge baby, it would be good to get a few newborn ones or they might be rather swamped in 0-3 - they are considerably bigger. A good excuse to buy more tiny things...

galadriel77 · 04/02/2010 21:22

scoobyd00 Great updating - only this is my 3rd!! DD1 4yrs, DD2 2.5yrs

westlondongirl - unless you know you are expecting a big baby then I would say that you will need some newborn sleepsuits as 0-3 are quite big. Newborn tends to go up to about 11 lbs and I always found it was a good few weeks before babies would fit into the 0-3 size ones.

Still here by the way. Still annoyed. I know it's only 2 days overdue so I've a long way to go but I'd quite like to have the baby before the weekend so we can settle down for some rugby watching.
